    Fight you?
    No, I want to

    kill you

Ardere was sitting under a tree, meditating for a short while. During his meditation, a few thoughts would pass through his mind. The mage was unsure whether or not his place within the Rune Knights was what he truly wanted, he wanted to fight dark mages, but he wanted to do it on his own terms. For years he had been a free spirit, and he would like to continue to be just that. There was only one other place in Fiore he could go to find the success and grandeur he wanted, and that was Sabertooth. The guild was not a mystery to him, in fact he had met a couple of their members, he seemed fun enough to work with. Being laid back, the high level of energy there might not be his shtick, but it was better than taking orders and doing grunt work forever. Luckily, he had only been just a Recruit, and had taken his name out of the hat in the Rune Knights. Sitting under this tree, he was making his decision on where he should go. Was he a Lion, or a Knight? The corrupted flames in his heart had made that decision long ago, he was no Paladin. The Fire King was however a warrior, albeit a destructive one but still with good intentions.

Standing up he took a deep breath, and picked up his sword Clarent, which was wrapped in white cloth at the moment. Why the hell not? For once in his life, he was going to go with the flow rather than constantly over plan and over analyze everything. Ardere stepped out of the trees and made his way onto the path to Sabertooth. Standing in front of the massive guild hall, he was wearing a black button up shirt with a white jacket. He slid a pale finger to push his red hair back, revealing the flame tattoos on his face and neck even more than usual. The flame god slayer was not really the nervous type, he was relaxed standing in front of the large guild hall. Opening the door, he would step in. Anyone home? Taking a few steps forward, he would look around to see if anyone was in the guild hall. Considering the popularity of this guild, he highly doubted he would be alone.

It’d been a rather slow day, the kind that left one in a languorous mood from the sheer relaxation levels. At least for one certain, short mage as she’d slept in rather late after a long night of reading. Thanks to some time-hungry jobs and travel time between, the woman’s leisure time had been severely lacking as of late so she’d felt no qualms about spending all of yesterday reading in the confines of her closet bed space and then sleeping in until she simply couldn’t catch another second of shut-eye today. It’d felt glorious as she eventually left the blessed personal bubble of her room for one simple adventure: food.

In all that time she’d consumed what little snacks laid about her room, the place lacking any personal fridges or storage spaces not already in use for more important things.  It was something she might look into, granted she could remember it long enough since it hardly hit the top ten list of “Things to Do.” Besides in times such as these there was a certain pleasure to having someone else cook the food anyhow, even if she occasionally snuck into the kitchens during down times to fix some personal snacks. One of these days she might teach the cooks how to make a proper pork bun, but for now it was one of those things she didn’t mind making on the down low so as to avoid sharing.

’What sounds good today…’ she thought with a hazy yawn, muscles stretching deliciously as the oddly tailed woman made her way towards the transportation lacrima. Currently people would be more concerned with dishes from lunch time in the guild hall kitchens, so she didn’t particularly want to bother them when the bar food sounded pretty good about now. There was a distinct flavor between the two places, and part of Mao wanted to see if she could convince one of the people manning the Ace of Spades to make her some pancakes. The fluffy treat suddenly sounded scrumptious.

Down in the bar things were lively as usual about this time, what with wayward travelers stopping in for a pint (or few) and a plate of food to fuel their journeys even if the journey for the night would end in a stumble towards a camp ground or out by an outhouse. The out-of-towners mostly ignored the newcomer, though his appearance caught the ever curious Mao’s attention. Trying to circumnavigate some of the more crowded tables, she ended up behind him, and in her usual, normal tone asked, ”Are you lost? Do you need help?” She couldn’t help staring at the tattoos that adorned his neck and stretched up to his face, having never seen such personal markings up close. Maybe they were a birth mark rather than self-created or inflicted? Green, gem-like eyes stared up at the tall fellow as the long, pointed, rabbit-like ears bent towards him as if to better catch his voice over the increasing hum of the bar.

Rolling and sighing with satisfaction towards the comfort of her waterbed, Tane opened her bright red eyes, full of energy for the new day. She shot out of bed in her ‘pyjamas’, unbuttoning the top. It was a funny name for clothes that were worn while sleeping because it rhymed with bananas and that was a fruit. Humans and their terminology would never cease to amuse her. Tane freshened herself in the large bathroom, changing afterwards into what seemed to have become her uniform now. She twirled around in her spacious chamber and hummed a sweet tune while doing so. If it was not so hot outside, she would go out for an adventure.

The moment she stepped out of the guildhall, she was greeted by the searing heat of the merciless sun, causing her to immediately shut the entrance, producing a loud thud in the process, and stagger backwards. There was no way she was going to survive in that kind of temperature. She wondered how the others did. Shrugging nonchalantly, she took a seat on the first step of the stairway close to the entrance. Maybe she would just sit and observe the members of her guild. She did just that, for a solid hour, watching the rest of the guild have breakfast and perform her public morning rituals. Tane, however, did not feel hungry today. Maybe she would have a meal the day after, since she had one the day before.

Tane was absentmindedly humming and tapping the wall beside her when a redhead emerged through the double door of the entrance. Part of his handsome face was mottled with red paint? She was sure she had not seen him before. He must be one of the most recent additions to the guild. The Prestigious one only observed him enter, blending into the background so she was not noticed before she wanted to be.

Anyone home?” he had asked. Tane smiled and watched the newbie. She expected boisterous behavior from her guildmates to occur anytime soon. It would not be like the Sabertooth guild without the unbearable noises and crazy people.

Ardere exhaled softly, noticing that the first floor was a bar. It gave a party-like impression to the newcomer, but it was not one that he minded. The bar had a decent amount of people, talking and drinking. It reminded him of an actual tavern in more ways than one, which he found ironic due to the fact that his first mission with a Sabertooth mage involved a tavern. He didn't seem to be in the actual hall itself, so he would probably need to ask someone for directions. Unfortunately he did not see any of the mages that he had already come to know. He didn't look confused, but it was quite obvious he had never been inside the guild before. I could get used to this. He was a fan of drinking, even though his alcohol tolerance was quite high. The fire mage was one of the few who enjoyed the taste more than the actual getting drunk. He had come to rather enjoy sake, a special drink from his home land of Midi. Observing the area, it was evident that this would probably be his new home.

Continuing to walk a bit, he heard a voice from behind him. Turning around to see who it was, he was being addressed by a young woman with bunny ears. It was nowhere near the weirdest thing he had seen this week, perhaps in this world it wasn't weird at all. Responding to her in a casual tone, he put his right hand behind his neck. Sort of yeah. I've come here to join the guild, so just point me in the direction I need to go. He had never actually been inside the Sabertooth guild hall before, he had only seen it when passing through. Needless to say, he had no idea how to navigate the place. He assumed he would have to talk to the guild master or an ace, but getting to know some of the members aside from the ones he already knew, would be important. The young woman addressing him seemed polite enough, and the fire mage hoped she could show him the correct path so he could follow. Clutching his sword, he awaited an answer.

Unfortunately for the new face that wanted to join Sabertooth, he was standing just several meters away from Frederick. Who was until now, sitting lonesome at the nearest table. Drinking the local brewed ale. And until now, he was actually having a decent day. There were no direct irritations today that could trigger his anger. Well, to be honest he hasn't encountered Blondie today, which next to the actual guild master was a frequent cause of explosive anger.
That was off course, until Mao. A young woman, with rather peculiar features. Decided to casually greet the stranger. Without the slightest care in the world. Or probably even considering the fact that he could be here to cause harm to the guild and them.

Slightly irritated by this, Frederick made his way over to the duo. Unaware of the girl who had taken place not so far from them. Only to observe at first.

Once arrived, the first thing that Frederick did was to reach out to Mao, and clench his left hand around one of her plushy bunny ears. Which he pulled towards him a bit, which would force her to step back. In his direction. 'Tch, don't go talking to strangers so casually, you never know what they are really about'

With his hood down, which on itself was a rare sight for most of the guild members. As Frederick always mostly had the hood of his cloak up. Covering almost his entire face behind a thick impenetrable shadow. He gave the man vile look, almost as if he was literally disgusted with the stranger. And when he spoke he almost hissed out the word strangers, as if Frederick had trouble even acknowledging the mans existence.

Emilia was rarely ever seen outside of her room in the Sabertooth guildhall, though when she couldn't be found there, she was most likely to be seen in the bar (and for that reason, she was probably still unknown to most members). Still, one would likely not think her to be a a member of the guild. She really didn't fit in. Aside from Frederick (who seemed to be wonderfully hostile to most people), everyone here was to... chummy. She was enjoying a nice lager, sitting alone, glaring at anyone who came too close, and grunting angrily if they tried to sit at her table, when a newcomer came in, asking if anyone was home. "Is anyone home?" She mocked quietly. Seriously? This was the entrance to the guildhall of one of the largest guilds in Fiore. Of course someone was "home". Not to mention the fair amount of people already in the tavern. She couldn't help but smirk at Fred's actions towards the girl with the weird ears and tail. Oh how fun it was to watch him be an ass to people. She felt as though she should talk to him sometime. He didn't seem like he particularly belonged in the guild either. Then again, what would they talk about? How much they should be somewhere else? For now, Emilia was content to just watch as events played out.

He seemed the tiniest bit bashful…no the word didn’t quite fit, but Mao lacked the words as he admitted his reason to coming here. ’It is a little confusing…’ Willing the memories down of when she first arrived, Mao admitted that without really talking to someone who was a member or a part of the staff, knowing that the actual guild hall was way upstairs. Then again maybe it was a sort of safety measure so someone could inspect newcomers first? Hell, Mao didn’t even know what the normal procedures were for admitting new people or any possible screening they may (or may not go as one might suspect with some of Sabertooth’s members).

It was enough to send her into a small mental fit as her eyebrows knit slightly and she stared off to the side in thought. ’Maybe I could ask someone, but I don’t know who,’ a troubling realization, her social skills a little subpar when it came to her guild mates. She knew very little about those in the guild, able to recognize faces and some names at best. However it would seem a certain veteran wouldn’t leave her in the lurch for long, in a manner of speaking.

Pain erupted on the sensitive organ as a certain one Fredward…Frederik yanked on her ear. He seemed adamant about turning it into a nasty habit ever since their job concerning some beer when the sour man learned they weren’t for show or some silly costume fetish of her’s. Teeth locked together as she suppressed any groans or whimpers of pain, long tail behind curling in a demonstration of self-restraint at clocking the bastard with the overly large limb, tempting as he made it. Even her fingers curled into fists with the force it took not to smack at the man’s hand, though partly to avoid furthering the man’s ire and grip.

”Ahh…sorry, I was curious…” Not a valid excuse really, but it was her reason all the same, ”I wanted to know if the marks were a tattoo or birth mark…” Well expecting a warm welcome from this man was plain silly as his reception was permanently set to “frigid” – regardless if you were already in the guild or not. And then she let slip possibly one of the worst comments to make as her pained gaze returned to the strange fellow, ”Sorry…Freddy-chan’s not the warmest at first glance…oh!”

Crap. She’d just heard it the other day slip from the guild master’s lips again, so it just came to mind first rather than his proper name or even his (supposed) title.

Tane placed her elbow on her left knee, then her chin on top. Her actions were quite slow as she was absorbing the scene before her. A man she had never seen before had joined the two, yanking the poor blue-haired being from her ear only to remind her that she should not go around talking to strangers. How do you make new friends, then? Tane thought to herself, twirling a sidelock of dark brown hair with her fingers. He seemed to be a man of authority, or just a really ill-mannered person.

The rabbit-human hybrid then informed the man of her reason to speak to the stranger. Tane averted her gaze back to the scarred man who had just set foot in the bar of the guild. He had brought a weapon, but he was not holding it like he wanted to do harm with it.

The Prestigious one rose from the step, slowly approaching the three strangers. She heard the rabbit girl say ‘Freddy-chan’. Was that the rude man’s name? Since he was the only other person interacting with her and the redhead was a newbie, Tane assumed that was it. She smiled and curtsied slightly when they would notice her presence.

Hello,” she started, looking from ‘Freddy-chan’ to the rabbit girl to the scarred man. She was unsure of how to weave an appropriate introduction right at the moment and so she continued to smile until a solid minute later. “You must be new,” the brunette nodded in the red-haired man’s direction.

As Ardere was talking to the young woman with bunny ears, a man would approach her and grab her bunny ears. He found this a bit odd, but only arched an eyebrow slightly at the occurrence. The people of this guild certainly were interesting, but he did not pay much attention the man's scowling. He was here to join the guild, and didn't have much time or the need to quarrel with anyone. In a sense, he shrugged off the man's initial hostility. Still focusing his attention on the woman, she would mention his tattoos. Pale fingers touching his face a for a moment, he kept a calm and casual attitude. Another woman, a quite attractive one, would approach the group as well. They're tattoos, they'd have to be one hell of a birthmark to be this big. He had seen some fairly large birthmarks, but one such as his would be quite a feat. The other mage probably did not realize, that the tattoos on the fire mage's face were actually embedded with magic. The woman with bunny ears had just been curious, so he was not at all offended by her inquiry. She did refer to the man scowling at him, but he was not going to let himself get worked up over it.It's alright, people have their reasons.

Turning his attention to the other woman, she had mentioned his being new. Ardere did not like the feel of being the new guy, but he would work through it until he had gained enough status in the guild to not be considered such. Yeah, I'm Ardere. Nice to meet you lot. The area was getting quite crowded, with several people greeting him. He was happy that they all had decided to greet the new member, and for the most part they seemed accepting. Looking at the group, he still held his wrapped up sword before addressing them. Now that it seems half this guild is here, would any of you be able to put me in the right direction so I can join the guild? I have no idea where the hell I'm going. He was not shy about his problems, but he did have a major interest in joining the guild, and had added a little bit of a joke to his question. The fire mage was not sure exactly how he came off to people, most said he was laid back or chill, but several people had also said he came off as a bit mysterious. This was probably due to his rough past, but he did not mind. What interested him, was whether or not he had made a good first impression.

Unfortunately for Aredere the good impression he wished for worked probably with everyone except Frederick. Who's anger was easily triggered, especially when he was being called by the very nickname his guild master once gave him.

'Oy... the only way you are going is being thrown off the nearest platform!'

Already angered by Mao, to such an extent that his blackened aura actually became visible enough for other to notice. Frederick got only more infuriated because the stranger clearly decided to ignore him and his vile attitude. Which in hindsight was probably the best of choices, if it didn't resulted in the same outcome either way.

While releasing his tight grip on the bunny featured woman's ear, he stepped towards the newcomer. And immediately grabbed him by his collar and pulled the man towards himself. While the pressure of his magic who seemed to be fueled by his anger slowly yet significantly increased itself.

'What makes you think a lowlife punk like yourself, can simply stroll in here huh?!

Emilia had been quietly watching these interactions. The cat bunny fox girl thing's attempt to greet the man who she now knew to be named Ardere in a friendly manner along with some other woman's attempt being cut short by Frederick's random acts of aggression. She sighed. She could understand being grumpy, but man, this guy was more angsty than a teenager on steroids. Seriously, getting angry over people strolling in and wanting to join. Isn't that how most people joined?

The redhead leaned back in her chair and put her feet up on the table. "'Ey Fred, ain't that how everyone joins the guild?" She chuckled. Not everyone joined that way, her being one such exception after she joined as a result of trying to pull a fast one on the former guildmaster. "Give it a rest and enjoy your beer. It's more important than harassing newbies." She took a long draught of her own before placing it on the table once more. "If you wanna join, the actual hall is that way." She gestured to the door to the room that contained the lacrima to transport someone to the actual guild hall in the sky.

STICKS AND STONES MAY BREAK MY BONES BUT ANYTHING YOU'LL SAY WILL ONLY FUEL MY LUNGS
From a distance the pools of a certain beauty took a keen regard to the new-comer, hood evolved over a crown of ivory locks which prodded out in messy layers, yet resided in all the right places. Delicate fingers curled against the mild palm, supporting the head against a frayed wooden table, as the barely visible features - through the shadow of her cloak - creased in scarce agitation to the clashing of voices, a mixture of unease, anger and many more. A sigh disembarked past those alluring lush lips, lids sealed briefly as the lashes of stardust fluttered, a surge of thoughts resounding through her mind. If it had not been for the familiar - yet diverse - semblance of magic that oscillated from the male of such striking red, she would've already taken her leave as mutedly as she did. After all - not a soul in the room knew who she was. It was a crowd of alien-like faces, a knot of audacity twisting within her chest as the back kneaded into the seat, pondering over how to join into the conversing - but mainly, how to seize an opportunity to the youth of red. It was like endeavoring to grab the attention of some idol despite being flocked by so many voices already.

Oh well.. a singular thought, and a rigid decision, the girl stood from her seat - wooden chair stirring against the ground with a shrill - booted feet parrelling along the floor as her diverse tone of tongue splintered through the air. "Hey newcomer, I'll show you the way.. After all, the actual hall will be a bit confusing once you get there." a faint smirk teased at her lips, hood still pulled over, a barely visible view of a dress vieled underneath. True intentions were masked, questions prodding to vomit from within as she patiently awaited a counter, a reply - the voices of others irrelevant to her nature. Despite being in the same faction, and bearing the same emblem - her concern was devoured by the void of all sensibility, intimidating presence wavering like transparent flames - cold yet hot all at once.

Finally something of an actual welcoming committee showed up, each fellow Sabertooth (would their short hand be Sabers or Teeth?) coming up to greet the interested newbie. Between them and Frederik finally releasing her poor, innocent ear Mao could almost cry in relief if such was in her nature. Instead the girl settled for a sigh of relief before such pleasures were cut short in the wake of Fred’s anger. A stranger to Mao commented on his somewhat silly reaction, pointing out that plenty of them joined the same way, but it might not pierce that veil of anger.

”Frederik…” she muttered hesitantly, unsure how to dislodge his hand from the other fellow who’d kindly answered her query without a hint of anger. She wouldn’t question it, sure that some people somewhere might be similar to calico cats in their birthmarks, but for now it was more important to get the volatile man’s grasp off the latest recruit and get the fellow up to the actual guild hall – preferably without Fred dragging him up there with the express purpose of chucking him over, as he’d suggested.

Delicately trying to peel the taller gent’s hands from the collar of Ardere, Mao sighed, ”Surely if he turns out to be less-than-savory as you predict, then either Raven will spot it, or…surely someone as great as you can have your way with him after and then proclaim how you were right and we were wrong.” Gods she felt silly saying such things, not one for trying to stroke another’s ego, but it was easier with her back somewhat turned and she doubted that this guy who smelled a little of burnt would give away the slight crookedness of her smile as she bravely fought down a giggle.

”They’ll be able to help you,” Mao nodded towards the other two who’d approached, sure that they could at least get him up to the real guild hall that the interesting red head directed him towards. Worse came to worse the animal woman could throw herself at Fred’s feet in the hopes of tripping him or something if he gave immediate chase. They’d likely need a head start after all.

    - Haretsa

Taking a deep breath of the crisp mountain air, Haretsa made her way slowly down the platform that contained the teleportation lacrima that linked Sabertooth’s main guild hall to the tavern down on the ground. Haretsa had spent all day working on getting her little side project done that she kept hidden away in one of the lower areas of the flying castle. Not all the work was complete, but it was getting closer and closer to being finished. All Haretsa needed now was a few more components and her project would finally be combat ready. Now, after a long day of work, Haretsa decided it was best to head down to the Sabertooth bar and unwind a little.

Placing her hands on the teleportation lacrima, Haretsa warped down into the back room of the bar. As she pushed the door open, the cream haired girl was greeted with the site of quite a few Sabertooth members; though she only recognized one particular person. ”BUNNY LADY!!” Haretsa exclaimed, rushing straight for the bunny eared girl and locking her in a giant bear hug. However, unlike the last time these two had met, Haretsa was a bit more aware of her strength, so she didn’t completely squeeze the air out of the poor girl. Haretsa gently set the bunny lady down on the ground before ruffling her fluffy hair. ”Uhm… s-sorry about last time… I didn’t mean to throw you..” she laughed rather embarrassingly, turning her attention to the scene of a rather tall man with a hood holding another man with red hair and an interesting facial tattoo by the collar.

Haretsa blinked in confusion, not only at the situation that was going on but the strange, familiar scent she noticed from the red haired individual. He smelled like burning in a strange sense, so did that mean he was a fire mage of sorts? Haretsa was probably the only one who could smell this thanks to her enhanced sense of smell. ”Uhm… Hi? I’m Haretsa and… what the heck is going on here?” she asked in an innocent voice, completely unaware of what was happening.

    Fight you?
    No, I want to

    kill you

Ardere widen his eyes slightly as the grumpy man took a hold of his collar, the other members seemed used to it, but it was obvious they were also uncomfortable with the situation. Calmly removing the man's hands from his collar, the fire mage responded. I didn't know Rune Knights were low life punks, considering that's where I'm coming from. Wiping off his coat, he noticed the arrival of some new faces, and the offer of help from others. I think I can join because I've busted my ass, so nice to meet you folks. Seeing a young woman run up to the girl with bunny ears, she seemed a bit confused as to what was happening. Uhh I'm new. Looking in the direction the young red headed woman pointed to before, he would nod. Thanks for the help. He also responded to the white haired young woman, noting that everyone seemed so helpful here. Thanks, I think I've got it guys. If anyone want to join me, I'll be getting myself signed up. Looking down to his right forearm for a moment, he remembered where he wanted his guild tattoo. He had come to Sabertooth to get stronger, and that he would. It did help however that he seemed to be welcome here.

Keeping his sword by his side, the fire king began to walk over to the door he was directed to. Perhaps we can get drinks when I'm done. Anyone was welcome to follow him, in his mind. He wanted to get to know this new guild, it's ins and it's outs. Ardere had never been a real guild mage before, and he found the concept quite intriguing. Thanks again, by the by. Entering the door, he would come upon a lacrima. Recalling his time in the Rune Knights, he quickly realized this was a transportation lacrima. Here we go. Putting his hand on the lacrima, he was instantly transported. Every molecule in his body was transferred into another space, it felt almost strange. If he had not been trained in using lacrima, he might have thrown up after using it. Arriving at the other part of the guild, he entered what seemed to be the actual hall. Hoping others had joined him, he put his sword against his shoulder; tapping it ever so slightly. Wow. He had seen large Knight halls in Era, but this guild hall was gorgeous. This was his new home, a place he could feel comfortable in.
