Scare away those thugs? Nah, more like kill 'em all (Naraku and Frederik)[mission]

Frederick's face stayed neutral the entire time that Naraku tortured the man. There was no emotion to be seen. Not because he hated the gruesome act that happened before his eyes but more that his feelings about torture were nothing more then indifference. He didn't really care for torture he just saw it as a means to achieve his goals. Just another tool or method to get things done or achieve information.
He was more of a certain death kinda guy anyway, by killing them swiftly or slowy draining them from their lifeforce. He could however respect that some people had taking torturing and intimidation to a whole new level, almost a certain skill set.

It didn't took so long for the man to crack before Naraku, and valuing his own life more then his own comrades he quickly told the two mages about their hideout in the woods. From where they were raiding the nearest train rails. Naraku's pet quickly dispersed of the enemy and she spoke in a tone like nothing happened before. As if the torture she did was a daily occurrence in life.
"He was telling the truth by his scent...so let's go show them the error of their ways."
He nodded as an answer and he followed her out of the Hargeon Town and into the woods. And it didn't took long before they found scum's hide out. It was nothing more then some forsaken cottage, something that looked like it could fell apart any second. Around the house were several men keeping watch, they didn't look that strong.
'Let's use the element of surprise shall we' suggested Frederick. He waited a few seconds and his eyes slowly turned black .
'Dark Moment' his whispering voice sounded cold and out of place, and with those words an impenetrable darkness originated from Frederick and covered the entire area.

'Monster Dice' :

It seemed her ally intended for them to use surprise and had an ability reminiscent of one of her own, but by the looks of it much more powerful. An excellent ability that allowed for a lot more variance in her attacks. So, rather than being startled Naraku grinned as the darkness fell. It was impenetrable perhaps for the opponent's, but for a hell demon slayer like Naraku it was almost like daylight. That was how good her night vision was. Besides, she could see just as well by scent. From the scent of it there were about twenty more of the thugs and three armored bandits. The sounds as darkness swept over them were quite enjoyable. Most of them were still in the cottage itself and so Naraku decided to bring it down on top of them. After all, why the hell not. She threw a single needle of shadow through the window and hitting the ground. She grinned and snapped her fingers. This gesture was not necessary, but she often felt like doing gestures.

"Hell Demon's Shadow Flower" she stated calmly. From the ground in the building erupted a large formation of shadow spikes. The largest central one being 20ft in height. The strike was enough that it brought down the roof on top of the men. This of course did damage, but what did the most damage were the spikes themselves. A full ten of the thugs were killed instantly and one of the armored men as well. She had effectively halved their numbers in one single attack. Plus, the opponents would now take a short while to excavate themselves from the rubble. Ah, what fun it would be picking them off now.

"Surprising enough?" Naraku asked with a big grin on her face. Things would be so easy now. It would probably be difficult for the men to excavate themselves. They weren't exactly supermen or even mages. She suspected that there were more mages, and stronger opponents, somewhere, but they were perhaps away from the house at this time or something. Or perhaps they were in a basement. Either way they weren't here at this point and so they just had two armored guys and nine thugs to deal with. Easy as pie.

Frederick was quite surprised by the intense power of this girl, and the fact that she could easily peer through his darkness as if it was daylight. The only other men he knew that could do that was his evil comrade Constantine Rebellion. So she was probably like him, one of those formidable slayers.
Frederick sighed, dealing with a demon slayer is always dangerous. They mostly had some unstable personality. He remembered his old comrade how he danced and singed around the people he tortured. Or looked at them while the squirmed on the ground while they slowly died of some disease that he spread into their bodies.
'Tsk this girl could be as equally dangerous, if not more'
But he would deal with that later, first he had to take care of the bandits and thugs. Well not himself but, they would take each other out.

Frederick took a deep breath, and started to speak in a hollow voice that would be strangely soothing at the same time towards his enemies.
'Why do you take up arms against us, aren't we alike? You can clearly see that we aren't your common legal mages. So isn't it a worthless effort to fight each other, while if we work together we can achieve so much more. Don't you dream of wealth and riches, something you would never achieve while being in such a fragile little group. Sharing all your spoils.
With me we could plunder the rich, taking everything you want. Imagine the wealth, the power...'

Frederick didn't have to speak anymore five of the nine bandits where already under his influence. Persuaded by his words.
He could see it in their eyes, the greed. The one of the seven sins that was always there in this kind of people.
He's right! Why should I share with any of you when I can take so much more when I am with you!!.
I would gladly fight for you!!
The five men started to attack the other four, just as Frederick planned. 'Why don't you sit back Naraku and relax a little, after a all you should enjoy the little things right. It is always better when they kill each other'

'Damage Dice' :

Greed. Avarice. Call it what you will. It was tantalizing to see such sinful behaviour, particularly when it caused them to kill each other. A form of mental manipulation in order to enhance this behaviour was truly invigorating. How she loved to see the sin of greed at work. Little did she know soon she would come to despise greed. Or at least hate it's embodiment in others. Greed would always dwell in her heart. The greed of wanting greater power. A greed that would drive her to great lengths to increase her power. Yes, sins dominated her very being and every bit of her life. They would not fade. They would become stronger. That was the future and not now though. In the present, she licked her lips at the thought of these men killing eachother for greed.

"It is quite delicious." she replied and with little effort floated up onto a tree where she sat and waited and watched. Frederik would be a useful ally for her. Very useful indeed. Perhaps one she could draw into the maw of the Leviathan? Or perhaps he had loyalties to his own guild. It was not for her to guess. Slowly pulling her over to the Leviathan could work though, but it would take time. Time she wouldn't put in till she saw potential that might reveal that he was persuadable to her side. As such she had seen no reason that he was not, but no reason that he was.

She was waiting for the battle to end so she could take time and enjoy ending the survivor's lives. Perhaps more opponents might join the fray, but they hadn't as of yet. Fluffy laid down, still in giant form, at the base of the tree. His eyes were closed as if he was a sleep, but in reality he was following everything by scent and sound. It was an interesting pair Naraku and Fluffy. Who was the true beast of them? The demon wolf or the demon slayer? It was a question she had often asked herself and yet no answer had presented itself. They were both fearsome, deadly and beastlike. Fluffy was more like the imagined picture of wolves that people had than actual wolves were and Naraku...well Naraku was Naraku.

'hmm they are really a petty excuse for a human being aren't they' smirked Frederick while watching the fight from under the tree. It was a rare sight indeed, eleven rough looking thugs going at each other while a dark hooded figure stood under a tree watching and and young woman sitting in a tree. Looking at the spectacle like it was her daily entertainment.

It didn't took that long until the fight was over, the five bandits that turned on their comrader had struck down three of their own former companions. Before they themselves were killed by the plate armored body guards. Leaving only standing one more bandit and the guards themselves.
'Well I think it is time to get to buisness...'
Frederick created two whips consisting out of dark magic at the side of each arm. And whipped them towards the guards necks. It didn't hurt them much, and they resisted it by still standing up. But it wasn't Frederick's goal to pull them down. No he tightened the whip around their throats and looked straigth at them. While the remaining bandit pulled out a knife that he barely could hold on too. Shaking in fear pointing it towards the two mages.
'There is something we have to know, why is it... that you are bothering the restaurant owner. And speak clearly
it will decide on how you are going to die'

At first Frederick thought that these guys were just some scum hanging around the city causing troubles, but they were a little more organized then that. Something was off here, maybe they were a part of a larger crime syndicate. Or they did this to conceal something else.
'I.. Won't tell.. you anything!'
One of the armored guards said while grasping for air still struggling to break free from Frederick's grip. To his surprise they were still standing. These guys were too strong to be just mere bandits.
'Well then... Naraku would you do me the honor of getting some answers.'
He looked at her over his shoulders and then back again at the three remaining enemies.
'She is quite resourcefull...'

Naraku leapt down from the tree a sadistic smile on her face. She did not say a single word at first. She merely walked towards them her hips swaying slightly. As she walked towards them demonic claws of dark energy formed on each hand. The mere forming of the claws had caused some reaction, but not much. However, one had reacted slightly more then the rest. It was not obvious by sight, but it was obvious by scent. She grabbed the man's chin, the claws digging into his cheeks.

"You will tell him what he wants to know." she said with a sickly sweet voice as the claws slowly dug into his skin. To her surprise, disgust and slight joy, the man spat at her. She stared at the man unfazed and with her other hand went as if to strike him in the head with a punch, but missed and hit some wood panelling behind him. The wood shattered easily on impact and it was clear Naraku had not put much effort into the punch. "That could be your head, but if I broke your head you wouldn't be able to talk." She whistled and Fluffy walked over his eyes glowing slightly and saliva pouring from his mouth. "So here is what we are going to do...Fluffy here is going to eat you starting from the legs. The quicker you answer the more of your body you get to keep."

The wolf used his claws twice to try and sever the straps holding on the armor. The first strike missed narrowly, but the second hit and the armor on the left leg fell off. The wolf licked his lips and bit down hard on the leg. Surprisingly, the man managed to resist the pain and did not reveal anything.

"You will be next." Naraku said to the other armoured thug blowing him a kiss with a sadistic smile on her face.

The man let out a quick scream of fear, apparently seeing his comrade being devoured by the wolf like creature. Was to much for him, and the corrputed and twisted aura of Naraku was almost to be felt like you would be hit by a wall.
Frederick tightened once again the grip of his whip. And glared at the armored thug. Expecting an answer at any second.
'Speak...'
'Okay!! I'll talk! But please... by... everything that is... holy let me live.'
Frederick loosened the grip on his throat a little. Giving the men space to talk fluintly instead of breathing and grasping for between every word or two.
'It..it was someone who hired us, but did not reveal his face. He talked about, trashing certain shopping districts. Threatening customers that shop there. Putting pressure on the store owners. Some have left already, and the restaurant owner was the only one left in that street. But that is everything I know!! I swear!'

Frederick found this quite curious, who would benefit from these kind of action. What use was it to pay good money to some scum like this and threaten shopping districts in the city. Even so far that some owner leave their shop for good.
'How curious, what happens to a building that is empty and is in a bad neighbourhood?'
He spoke outloud, trying to figure out what was going on, and letting Naraku know too about what he was thinking.
'But doesn't the value drop greatly when a store is left empty, that no one wants to buy?'
Frederick was deep in though, trying to figure why this all is happening.

Fluffy ended up eating the man alive whilst the other one talked, which was probably what made him talk so much. Naraku just smiled the entire time and then looked over at Frederik. "What if they aren't after the buildings?" she suggested to Frederik. This sort of thing wasn't her style, but she was smart, even if she pretended not to be. This seemed like a time to not hide her intelligence. "They might just want the land, or maybe something under it." She'd read books trying to find out about everything to see if anything triggered the release of more memories or at least memories that made more sense. "I remember in a kid's book series...about a group of teens solving mysteries...that there was one where the bad guys scared people off, or tried to, to build a hotel on the land." She hoped that would help because other than that suggestion she really had no ideas. She dispelled the claws and sat down stroking Fluffy. He licked her face staining it with blood, but she just giggled. The man that was still alive looked even more terrified. Just who was this girl?

Naraku really didn't care about these sort of things and wanted it to be over soon. The only bit she had enjoyed was the killing and the torture. This 'why the bandits were being bandits' didn't interest her. It would only begin interesting her if the result of this gathered intelligence lead to more interesting battles. The bandits had been pretty weak. Where were the strong opponents? Where was the challenge? These men had broken far too easily. Heck, even Chelvaric wouldn't break so easily and he was submissive as anything. These men were pathetic.

'Hmm I think you're right about that land thing. And be that as it may there is only one in this town that could have the power and money for it. And that is the mayor.'
It all made sense now, the strategized attacks on the stores in the shopping district and who would benefit from that. All these time they were chasing thugs and bandits while the true problem care free resides at the center of town.
'Tch that pig of an mayor has us run around while he was sitting there. I hope your pet is still hungry.. it is going to have quite a meal when I am done with the mayor'
Frederick was angry that he didn't see it before, normally he would notice these things. But he was to caught up in torturing and playing with the lowlife scum as if they were his marionettes.

Frederick lead the way back to town, into the busy streets. Where the people quickly jumped aside for Frederick who's aura was so intense it was visible. It was all around him and was as black as night, like a never ending smoke that surrounded his body.
He would walk that way until he reached the mayor's office, where he crumbled the door by blasting an unrefined attack of dark magic at it.
'You pitiful dog, where are you!'
In the office they encountered the mayor who was sitting in his chair behind a desk, heavily sweating. Scared that someone had found out what he was planning to do. But before they could get to him, they had to deal with the last remaining bandits. That protected the mayor.

'Monster Dice' :

Naraku with grace threw two needles of darkness into the ground beneath the feet of the opponents and winked as first a huge flower of spikes shot up attempting to skewer them all. To her earnest surprise though the mage's used their magic to protect the group. It was then she noticed the toucan king again. It seemed that her shadow flower had been seen and warned about. The ten men charged at Naraku and she was forced to dodge and move about swiftly. The thugs were no match for her speed and skill, but the armored ones had some skill to them and tried to trick her into going into attacks from the others. Attacks that she successfully blocked. Of the ten attempts to hit her only one was successful in hitting her, a fireball to the back. Naraku hissed and slammed her scythe down. Now she was pissed.

"Frederik, leave the mages to me." she said her eyes flaring as she spun the scythe. There was a look of fear from the mages. Particularly as it had been one of their strongest attacks and she barely seemed phased, even after they blocked one of her strongest. In truth she was hurting like hell, but she wouldn't show that. She had been trained not to show that. She only showed emotions that were useful for the task at hand. She was skilled like that. "I will make you all...dissapear." The armored men gathered in a line their spears pointing towards Naraku, protecting the mage's, but she just laughed. "Why throw away your lives to protect them? What have they ever done for you?"

"We protect them because we are bodyguards and it is our job." one of the younger ones said proudly. Naraku raised an eyebrow and then laughed again. It was such a foolish statement.

"It is a shame you are about to fail that job."

Naraku smiled as darkness fell. It just made her attacks all the more lethal and gave her opponents far less chance of hitting. Plus Frederik's minions had devoured two of the armored enemies. It made things much easier. She snapped her fingers and the sound, as she had expected, attracted stabs from enemy spears, swings of clubs and blasts of magic. The attacks were wild and most of them went nowhere near her or were easily directly. However, she was caught on the shoulder by a club which cracked her shoulder and tore her haori slightly, but it was not enough to stop her attack. 

Tendrils 20ft long and quite wide erupted from the darkness. The enemy were quite lucky. Out of the tendrils that appeared only five were successful in striking or binding an opponent. The thug who struck her was one of the unlucky ones and was stabbed through the stomach killing him instantly. Two of the guards were lifted into the air by the tendrils and slowly crushed. They wouldn't die yet, but they would do soon unless they were saved. Joining them in the air were two magae. Despite the physical strength of the mages they waer not as able in terms of armor and wer swiftly crushed reducing the number of opponents by another two. There were not only two thugs and one bodyguard who were free.

"Let me play with these ones for a bit Freddie. You can break the ones on the ground." she said with a giggle causing a shudder to pass through most of the people in the room.

Naraku watched with glee as the minions of Frederik slit the throats of those she was not playing with. Now she could have as much fun as she liked with these men. It would be so much fun. To her surprise though in their struggles the bodguards managed to break free. In her annoyance at such an act one got a tendril straight through the chest killing him instantly. The other one though was grabbed by four seperate tendrils, one on each limb. These tendrils constricted on the limbs crushing them slightly, but then began to pull. As they pulled the man's screams grew louder and louder till eventually both arms and both legs were torn from his body. Naraku tossed the limbs around the room before retracting the tendrils permanently. There was no more need for them anymore.

The small wolf known as Fluffy let out a howl of triumph as the final man fell. The battle was over and now all they had to do was talk to the person in charge. The corrupted mayor. "Naughty mayor. You will have to be punished." Naraku said with another giggle twirling her scythe about. It was a shame the mayor could not see them now. All he could do was hear the screams, the voices, the howls and the rather creepy giggles. "Freddie I think we should let the mayor see his friends don't you?" There was sickly sweetness to her voice, which considering what she had done so recently made her seem even creepier.

In truth, she wanted to see the mayor when he saw what had happened to his bandits. The mental anguish would be torture to the man. His cries of fears would be like a symphony to her. She wondered if he would beg for forgiveness in order to save himself. It would be...interesting to see how he reacted.
