The Monthly Character News Update

Events, plots between guilds, the sorcerrer's magazine (which has been abandoned), In-character celebrities and business tycoons. I propose we have some kind of "Anchorman" to post the news at least monthly. It would be very nice to get a summary of events and plots taken place. We would define more of our plots to others as well as advertise them.

In addition, an Out of Character Anchorman is optional as well to see the latest trends happening. It allow us to unfold several plot points as this time and an opportunity to bring in a new system of socialism between characters. These may count as "Open Threads" for anyone to join whatsoever since this kind of thing is usually public.

Like for an example: The Anchorman will do a live interview to all the ongoing events taking place, character's thoughts and views of the situation may be able to come to media.

Or that the Anchorman will give an overall summary of all events and interesting plots happening in FT boards which is out of character.

I'd be interested in an IC news system. It would be a nice way to keep up with the IC times without reading every thread ever posted. Many plot and world developments get ignored because people don't hear about them or not enough players are in the threads where they happen. Honestly our Fiore feels incredibly stagnant outside of events because it's so easy to miss out on cool things going down.

Players could pm an Anchorman NPC account with any events they consider note worthy for the news as well so no one person has to dig through threads for good story material. Naturally it is up to the NPC controller what to decide from those PMs what is really news worthy.

If we are worried players might feel bad because their personal plot didn't make the headline.... Well that is hardly a reason not to do this because without this suggestion no one will make any headline because there won't be any. But seriously we can't let the fear of stepping on toes stop cool ideas, as with any application you face the chance of being denied. I go in such length about this tiny little detail because, despite my belief that it would be a silly reason I've seen stuff like it happen, and I would literally scream my throat out if a reason like this stopped such a great idea.

Well it seems he said everything that I was about to say. I got plans for this and back up plans made beforehand in case of any difficulties. So all in favor for a monthly newscast?

I'm al in favor for this. IT allows people to know whats going on in the forum without checking every single post.

Sounds good to me. I just see this as being a lot of work for one person to deal with so maybe we can have a small group do this around 3 people. Otherwise with all the PMs being sent out to a single person they might get crazy overwhelmed.

Also jobs might not work for this seeing as most jobs are jobs that everyone can do and doing a similar report on a person doing a job already done might be a bit weird. Custom jobs where it can only be done once and requires a person to be in the job could be a game changer for this though.

I'm all for it. Just seems that everytime something like this is attempted it fails hence the dead Sorceror's weekly. However, feel free to do this
