monthly competitions

Okay, so I came up with quite a cool idea! So my idea is that some people spend more time in the chat box then they do doing threads etc so what would be a good way to remedy this? well how does a monthly competition sound? to make it more fun that just 'most posts' etc here a few suggestions;

- biggest in thread clown
- Best entrance
- most loyal guild member
- best newcomer
- best/ most in thread poster
- saddest in thread moment
- best CD moment
- invader award (evil guild thread invasions)
- dedication to site award ( people who are most active or something)
- best post with theme (post with music)
- Best Fairy Tail moment ( a moment so awesome it could appear in the manga/ anime)
- best character death (should one ever happen)
- most unique magic


these are a few I have come up with that would help boost the threading and interaction between members and increase on site activity :) let me know ehat you guys think! as for rewards? That would be entirely up to Seijin but I think this could be a great idea :)

I win the top one to easily. Who else runs around the forest naked chasing ghosts nobody else can see?

I think something like: Character of the month, Most improved player of the month, thread of the month, Staffer of the month, and maybe a site mvp.

I disagree with having this. If you want reasons, I can give them, but if you think about it a little you might see why.

i can understand some people would maybe feel a bit miffed if they didn't win it for example, but EG a rule would be put in that if you won it one month you cant win it the next, so it keeps it revolving and not the same people all the time

I've seen it work and I've seen it fail. Worst case scenario you turn it into nothing more than a recognition thing for your hard work and there aren't any rewards other than your name on the front page of the site.

Contests like this should be purely given to threads or to situations or moments. Never individual players. Because roleplay is a co-op game and when a thread is a winner over a player then the number of sore sports go down.

I have seen this sort of thing cause so many fights that I cannot support this.

I've pretty much solved this problem for me. It's personal choice to read this and accept it. It's my personal opinion and it's free for all, so basically if you feel someone deserves recognition, put it in the thread. It's for any and everyone, and even if it stays just for me the purpose of players recognizing players doesn't seize to exist.
