    Magic Name: Paladin's Armaments
    Magic Type: Requip
    Description: The Paladins are the most renowned warriors of the Pergrande Kingdom and Vincent was born to such a pair. He went back many years after having left his home due to their views on those with magical power and trained in the ways of the Paladin. After being gifted weapons that previously belonged to his family, Vincent created a separate space in the pocket dimension in which his magical items are stored specifically designed for the new weapons. These weapons all have some kind of negative effect on magical beings due to their origins, making them fearsome in Fiore when wielded in skilled hands. These weapons represent the extent of Vincent's remaining control over elemental magic, a memoir of the magic upon which he once relied.

    Strengths:

    • Particularly powerful against magical entities
    • Conventional weaponry makes attacking much more of a quick process as opposed to the comparatively long cast times of his primary magic
    • Provides Vincent with a heightened battle senses as well as a stronger than average body

    Weaknesses:

    • All of the weapons he uses have no real range beyond the tip of their blade, making them ineffective towards flying or far targets
    • To non-magical entities are unaffected by the properties of most of the weapons
    • Non-standard enemies such as incorporeal entities or such creatures simply take little to no damage from conventional weaponry

    Unique Abilities:

    Strength of a Paladin:

    Strength of a Paladin: While Vincent didn't train for long, he trained hard. As a result, he has increased his strength to that necessary to wield the weapons he has trained with. Vincent's strength is increased by 65%.

    Will of a Paladin:

    Will of a Paladin: During his training Vincent grew not only in strength, but also in his stamina. His vitality was slowly built up over the course of hundreds of duels with his mother. As such, Vincent's maximum HP is 30% higher.

    Ambition of a Paladin:

    Ambition of a Paladin: The skills that Vincent learned were excellent against conventional enemies, but the techniques he learned shine against large monsters. Most of the combat done by Paladins are with the great beasts of Sin that attempt to destroy the great wall that separates the Kingdom from the hell of monsters. As such, they have developed particular techniques to deal with beasts of all sizes. Against beasts, Vincent gains an additional 35% increase strength and 30% increase in speed to reflect his preparation for the encounters.

    Description: This weapon was the first that Vincent used when he returned home and thus has grown something of a sentimental attachment to it. Despite his disdain for the prevailing thought of Pergrande, he can't help but find their customs quite appealing. They are a people striving for perfection in body and mind so that they can protect their nation and their loved ones. The weapon is a polished steel Italian style rapier which is 114cm long with its blade consisting of 104cm.

    Strengths:  

    • Greatly synergizes with Vincent's wind element

    Weaknesses:

    • Like most of his spells, its only effective range ends at the tip of the sword


    Abilities:

    active ability:

    Wind Step [Burst]: Vincent's calls upon the power of wind to assist him in battle, causing a heavy breeze to circle around him for the duration of the ability. The wind allows him to very quickly close distances to a maximum of 10 meters at 75m/s. He may dash up to 5 times before the ability goes on cooldown. If he dashes into an enemy with his blade, then the damage of the attack is two times the regular amount.

    passive ability:

    Backdraft: The wind that whips around Vincent gives him a 65% increase in his speed for the duration of the spell.

    Description: Most Paladins in Pergrande have three names associated with them. The first is their own name, obviously. The second is the name given to them by the lower ranked members of the military based on their known accomplishments. The third is the name of their preferred weapon. Vincent's mother was no different and passed on her famed blade, the Scarlet Laughter, to her son. The blade itself is made of a special red metal from which it gets the first part of its name which is easily capable of slicing through magical defenses. The sword is 150cm long with its blade consisting of 130cm which is considered abnormally long for the sword.

    Strengths:  

    • Proficient in dealing with magical defenses

    Weaknesses:

    • Despite its power, like most of his spells, its only effective range ends at the tip of the sword


    Abilities:

    active ability:

    Hyena's Pack Hunt [Single Target]: Vincent crouches down and focuses all of his lightning power in his legs to attain a heightened speed. He then dashes towards his target at high speeds and strikes them from five different angles within less than a second, dealing 225 damage to a single target within the a 10 meter range.

    passive ability:

    Kingdom Specialty: Due to the special type of metal that gives the blade the first part of its name, spells that come into contact with it are weakened greatly. Any spell that this blade collides with has its power or potency decreased by 50%.

    Downside: Active ability has an incredibly short range.
    Description: These pair of black daggers are the weakest of the bunch when it comes to the weapons he took with him. Even in Pergrande these daggers are used when their swords break and they have no backups left. A dagger is better than being empty handed, but only just. If it's any consolation, the daggers are quite well equipped to synergize with dark magic. The daggers themselves are 30cm long with 20cm consisting of the blades.

    Strengths:

    • Small and easily concealed for surprise attacks

    Weaknesses:

    • Especially short range


    Abilities:

    active ability:

    Concealed Strike [Burst]: Vincent conceals himself in shadows and becomes very difficult to see in dark environments. In addition, his scent and sounds are masked so that he is rendered almost completely invisible to most sources without assistance. Vincent's next single target ability or attack will deal quadruple damage if his target is caught by surprise.

    active ability:

    Shadow Scout [Burst]: Vincent creates a completely black silhouette clone of himself using shadow magic channeled through his daggers. This silhouette is corporeal, silent, and completely at the command of Vincent. The clone may change into any number of forms and is primarily intended for reconnaissance purposes. It may travel 50 meters from Vincent before being dispelled and anything that it sees is transmitted to Vincent upon its duration running out. It has no scent and travels completely silently.

    Downside: Active ability has an incredibly short range.
    Description: This long spear is 2m long with 60cm consisting of the blade. It is by far Vincent's longest weapon and due to its size it doesn't suffer any damage penalty, but also doesn't gain any additional damage. The spear isn't particularly powerful on its own, but when Vincent channels lightning through it the weapon becomes quite formidable against monsters and mages alike.

    Strengths:

    • Longest range of all his melee weapons
    • Greatly synergizes with Vincent's lightning element

    Weaknesses:

    • Doesn't perform well when the enemy is close
    • Relatively small blade and so it is a bit harder to hit enemies


    Abilities:

    active ability:

    Crack the Heavens [Single Target]: If Vincent strikes a target with the blade of his spear, he may follow up by calling down a bolt of lightning that will paralyze his opponent for one post. The bolt of lightning deals 60 damage. This ability gets empowered by spell damage rather than strength. The ability travels at 120m/s.

    Lightning Strikes Twice [Single Target]: If Vincent activates his Crack the Heavens ability and it lands then he may follow it up by using this ability. A second, more powerful bolt of lightning will strike down the same target for 75 damage. This ability gets empowered by spell damage rather than strength. The ability travels at 120m/s.

    Description: Like the Scarlet Laughter, this weapon belonged to a family member of his: his sister. She gave him her sword to remember the short time they spent together and to protect him in his travels. Surprisingly, it synergizes quite well with his fire element. The sword itself is 126cm long with 110cm consisting of its blade. The craftsmanship is superb and it could cut through just about anything tough with ease.

    Strengths:

    • Greatly synergizes with Vincent's fire element

    Weaknesses:

    • Its effective range ends at the tip of the blade


    Abilities:

    active ability:

    Burn to Cinders [Burst]: Vincent holds his left hand over the blade and casts a fire enchantment which covers the blade in a red and orange blaze. For the duration of the ability, the longsword deals an additional 10 damage per swing.

    passive ability:

    Magic's Bane: The more powerful Pergrandian weapons such as this one are made with a special kind of metal that had quite negative effects on magic users. If Vincent strikes a magical being, they will lose 10 MP for every hit they take.

    Description: Before he left Pergrande, Vincent had a single weapon requested from the Capital's blacksmith who was more than happy to serve the son of Paladins. The blacksmith toiled to create a weapon which he believed was worthy of Vincent, and he did not disappoint. This curved sword was made in the style of weapons made from Midi and is 114 cm long with 98 cm consisting of its blade. It has a single sharp edge with a false edge on its back.

    Strengths:

    • Greatly synergizes with Vincent's light element

    Weaknesses:

    • The sword must be used with more care than usual due to having only one cutting edge


    Abilities:

    active ability:

    Cleansing Light [AoE]: Vincent points his sword up and casts a ball of light to shine over the battlefield. Any magical enemy illuminated by the light will lose 25 HP per post. The ball of light can take 100 damage before being destroyed.

    passive ability:

    Magician's Antithesis: While using this weapon, the sword will shine brightly and any magical opponents within a twenty meter radius of Vincent will have 25 MP sapped per post and suffer a 50% decrease in spell power per post for the duration of the spell.
