COME AT ME AND YOU'LL SEE
I'M MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE

--- YOU THINK THAT YOU'LL BREAK ME, YOU'RE GONNA FIND IN TIME ---
Magnolia was certainly pretty, she’d give it that. Saffron didn’t have a whole lot of exposure to coastal communities, having grown up in Bosco. She was used to extremely mountainous landscapes that were peppered with thick forests and grasslands, where the cities were so tightly packed together that they had to build their structures up toward the sky in order to fit as many people as possible into the minimal amount of hospitable space within the nation’s territory. It was almost exactly opposite of where she currently was. Magnolia was fairly spread out along the endless coast, with channels of man made rivers flowing water through the city blocks. The buildings weren’t tiny, but in comparison to the skyscrapers of her home they felt small to her. Quaint, but small. The largest building was a massive cathedral on one end of town, its pointed peaks a visible landmark over just about all the other structures in the city.

She took her time driving through the streets, careful not to race her motorcycle too quickly along the roads. Despite Fiore having a fairly big reputation among Ishgar for being the mage capital of the continent, there really weren’t a whole lot of people utilizing vehicles, even magical ones. A lot of people seemed to travel by boat along the canals, bikes, or even just walking. Saffron didn’t want to disturb the way of life, so she drove only fast enough to keep her bike upright, stopping from time to time as something caught her interest to get off and do a little sightseeing, particularly at any shops that boasted selling magical items. She was extremely interested in such things, if only to compare Fiore’s wares to what she was used to in Bosco.

It was this leisurely sightseeing that ultimately brought her to the hall for the resident guild in the city: Fairy Tail. She had spoken with a number of citizens throughout the day, and many of them had suggested she take the time to at least visit the hall, which they claimed was not only open to the public for most of the day but also sported its own assortment of magical goods for sale. Pulling up outside the guildhall, she brought her motorcycle to a stop, planting one of her booted feet to the ground to keep herself upright while not in motion as she looked up at the great, oak double doors. She was dressed in somewhat simple fashion today: a light colored pair of jeans with an orange shirt that left a bit of her stomach exposed and a short, black leather jacket over it. An ungodly mass of voluptuous blond hair had somehow managed to be wrangled into a ponytail behind her head, and a dark pair of aviator sunglasses rested on the bridge of her nose.

Using the heel of her other foot to nudge the kickstand down, she turned off the engine and rested the bike, swinging her leg over and off. A few people milling about the area, coming and going from the guild, watched her a bit. After all, it wasn’t every day someone showed up that had a fully robotic arm like she had, the black and yellow metallic limb visible from the elbow down as the sleeve of her jacket was pushed up enough to expose the entirety of the forearm. Either Saffron was used to the occasional stare or she just didn’t care about the looks, Either way, she paid these people no mind as she stepped through the wooden doors and into the main hall.

Slipping the sunglasses off her face and hooking them onto the front of her shirt, Saffron’s purple eyes scanned the area curiously as they adjusted to the light inside. There were a fair number of people in the large entry room, a dull roar of chatter echoing through the space as people chatted and laughed and interacted with one another. She could see a great deal of people sporting the symbol of the guild on various places of their bodies, indicating their membership as mages of the establishment, but many others present seemed to be guests like her, as far as she could tell. Stepping in a bit further so she wouldn’t be blocking the door for others, she stood and slowly turned in place a bit, taking in the space and trying to decide what to do now that she was here.

It felt like pretty much everyone else was busy with the upcoming wedding. Akemi for her part wasn't really interested and also had no plans to attend, but that meant that while everyone else was talking about how their guild master was getting married she was busy with, you know, actual work. Of course it wasn't like the other guild members had completely stopped accepting missions: doing missions was just as much for yourself as for the guild, if not more so. But it did mean that every time she passed by someone there was a fifty percent chance they'd mention the wedding in some fashion.

Even if you were neutral on the subject, if you kept hearing about it over and over eventually it became a bit annoying.

Which was why Akemi had taken a simple mission which wasn't exactly much work but which did take her away from Magnolia for a while. A bunch of thugs had been causing trouble on the road and had been hiding in the nearby woods. Given that these were smalltime criminals she wasn't to harm them, but she did have to make sure that she caught them all and brought them in so the legal forces could bag them and look all self-important. Which meant that she had to carefully comb through the entire forest to make sure she got all of them, a task which was made more difficult by the fact that some of them had surprisingly good techniques for remaining hidden. It wasn't often that someone could avoid being caught by their own shadow.

But in the end they were still just little thieves who couldn't do much more than hide and bother civilians, so for Akemi it was more a game of hide and seek. Finishing the task without much issue she began to make her way back to Magnolia, wondering what next mission she'd take. Maybe it was a good time to take on that bounty that the guild master had assigned to her... She'd been sitting on it for a while now, because it seemed like it could be a bit trickier and because she wanted to make sure this wasn't a trap. Mura didn't seem like the type, but being given the task to bring down an important economical figure not soon after being accepted into the guild... you had to consider the possibility.

Which was why Akemi was walking through the streets of Magnolia, making her way back to the guild, when she heard an unusual sound. Some kind of advanced vehicle tearing through the streets. Coming to a halt for a moment Akemi closed her eyes and focused on where the sound exactly came from. Whoever it was, they were going pretty fast even if the dark claw mage didn't hear any sounds of problems arising. Somebody who knew how to ride properly then.

Truthfully Akemi had little real interest in those vehicles, aside from how they worked. Turning magic into rotation for the wheels was one thing, but to create an entirely functional vehicle with a wide variety of functions was another. From what Akeya had heard Bellum had made great strides in the field of devices that can use the energy from a single lachrima for multiple functions at once while balancing them all flawlessly without requiring manual oversight. Or was this one of those non-magical types? She didn't feel a lot of magic coming from the direction of the sound...

Akemi resumed walking, but kept track of where the sound was coming from. She raised an eyebrow when it came to a halt in front of the guild. That was... interesting. It didn't take much longer for Akemi to reach the guild herself, pausing to look the motorcycle over. Truly an unusual sight around these parts... Fiore might have a lot of powerful mages, but when it came to culture it tended to be a bit traditional. It was a common side effect of people being content with the state of things: they lost some motivation to try and progress.

Shaking her head Akemi entered the building, golden orbs quickly focusing on what she could only presume to be the owner of the vehicle outside. She was the same height as Akemi herself, but where the dark claw mage had a truly intimidating mass of raven-black hair reaching all the way to her ankles this woman had blonde hair which was just as voluminous, if not as long. Combined with her figure and choice of attire Akemi was pretty sure that this woman would be considered a babe by many.

"Hey." Calling out with her usual soft but serious voice Akemi stepped forward and to the side, coming to a halt next to the girl with a distance of about two meters between them. "You're new here. Is that thing outside yours?" She planted a hand on her hip as she casually looked Saffron over, golden gaze coming to a rest on the other's face.

    ”Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah…”

Things were starting to look brighter with each and every day that went by. Precious mates weren’t disappearing anymore. Old friends had returned. New friendships arose. The guild was gathering coin, looking mighty fine after its renovation. With a soft tune playing from the neon-decorated jukebox, Mura was simply in a cross-legged position on the bar table, completely ignoring the very purpose of the fine chairs laid out for the drinkers. It felt like he could just sleep on the counter – that was how relaxed and happy he was right now.

While having been married for over a year, it just felt like a renewal of his first wedding. Mythica likely felt the same way, given just how much time she put into reminding him of the date. Lots of butterflies were having a blast in his belly, tickling him enough to keep that constant look of heaven’s bliss on his face. He had many reasons to be happy; for once, his guild was invited to partake in the wedding, so he could finally shake off that feeling of guilt that harbored a place in his heart after the shotgun attempt that Mythica pulled off without warning…

To think that it started like that… a sort of prank gone serious. Who knew…?

His pleasant, happy atmosphere was enveloping the bar and stretched out across the guild hall with warm energy, reaching as far as to the large gate leading outside. People found it welcoming and not as strange and, say, out of place as some would think; Mura was a generally joyous Guildmaster, but it was tuned up by tenfold today.

He was in his element. In his Toad Sage Gi, in his sand-colored, short cloak, with his katana sheathed and leaning onto the bar desk along with his red dagger. He was just sitting there, blessing everyone around him.

Kyuken and Zirconis were marveling at the sight. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen him this happy… n-not since he and Hana-“

    “*!* Is that a metal arm? That’s a first, really…”

“Metal arm? What are you talking-“

Kyuken’s words were cut short by the arrival of a new face – or, in his words, new bod’. Mmmphhh, damn, was she a treat for the eyes. Kyuken wouldn’t mind approaching her in his own, ghostly way if not for the embodiment of ‘fuck no’ following suit.

“O-Oh no, oh no no no, I can’t even catch a glimpse without her knowing!” Kyuken screamed in pain and flew away, leaving Zirconis to approach the two women of starkly different hair colors.

“Akemi,” Zirconis swiftly greeted the dragoness before gazing at Saffron, “If you’re here to report to Mura, you might want to wait a minute… he’s been puking happy mana for an hour now. Or maybe a slap will bring him back from whatever seizure he’s put himself in…”

    “Haa-haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah… soooooooo lovelyyyyyyyyyy… y-you looook great in blaaaaaaaack, My-thi-ca~”
