Never killed a man, and actually caught a few NPC baddies and attempted at catching an actual in-character baddie as Lillian Truth. She even had a weapon that couldn't kill, period. Should it make a killing blow, it would become as dull as a rock and hit with the most amount of force to knock them unconscious, while not killing them. None of my other legal mages have killed, but none of them have caught any bad guys either... So yeah I'm a real legal mage.

Also notes Lilian Truth was a guildless mage that would have been a legal mage if she didn't have the mentality that she must've become a hero on her own, rather than with others' help.

Killing people is legal.

I'd also like it to be noted that legal and light/good are very different.

Still doesn't like killing IC, but feels obligated to say this.

Killing isn't exactly legal... but it also isn't NOT legal. Fiore has basically no IC laws at the moment, and technically nothing is illegal. Players assume that most IRL laws would apply IC, but technically, and that's a big TECHNICALLY killing is allowed.

Unfortunately it's that logic that spawned the 'lets kill everything' state of legal guilds for a while (not sure if that still exists). Personally I feel that killing someone should make the MC aware of the character and, should it persist, that character is classified as dark (and, by connection, their guild is considered dark/neutral if they do nothing to deal with that character).

Hell, it happened to Fairy Tail. They had a dark mage join them who had killed numerous times and now they're a dark guild themselves in the MC's eyes at least. It'd make for a lot better RPing as well I feel, as that way the repurcussions of your actions are felt site-wide and will create more interaction between guildmates and even guilds in general.

I mean, some jobs specify that you have to kill the enemies and the enemies are human (like the Haunting Tale one) but he was an evil necromancer who made a horde of innocents into zombies, so I assume the MC was okay with making him into an exception.

Research up lawful good. They're the biggest killers in my opinion, especially paladins. If you're so much as a glimmer in their eye dark, they can choose to end you right there, and still be classified as a do-gooder.

Legal, illegal, dark, light. The concepts can be so warped, do you truly want to go that deep into philosophical. Though then again, those that fear only the dark, do not know terrifying the light can be.
