As you are minding your own business, when out of the blue you're being bumped into by a sudden figure; you don't seem to catch any of their features aside from them being humanoid. What you do notice however is your pockets suddenly feeling a lot heavier, and a crumpled piece of paper tucked in your palm. The note, when opened, reads the following;

"Dear -----,

I've received your message clearly and have given it a higher urgency among our current jobs at hand. Although I would've rather tended to the matter myself, I'm currently needed elsewhere and cannot attend. However... I know a perfect substitute. I'm sure you remember Imai, don't you? Fond as he was about you, even after Mashyuu's passing, he still is. We both. Rather than me sending him your way, how about you surprise him instead and meet up? These days, you'll most-likely be finding him near XXX, hard to miss, i promise you. In case inconveniences come to pass, let me know and I'll have both of you meet up at the underground portal instead, you've been given clearance to enter the ward so there shouldn't be any problems there.

You can't read the name -a wet stain has wiped it out entirely- but definitely recognise Kenna's handwriting and magic signature embedded within the words, ruling out that this note is a fake, and is in fact genuine. There is little else to do but to follow suit with the instructions, since your name's included. In your pocket you'll find a large candelaria gemstone, crude and unfinished, but surprisingly smooth to the touch. Keep it safe, for it will be the key to succeeding in this endeavour.


When you arrive, a familiar face will be waiting for you, almost ecstatic to see you. Declaring they'll be accompanying you on this mission, they fill you in on the rest of the details regarding the things you'll be dealing with, as they're a native to these lands. Beyond the portal lays one of the many countries ruled by the ancient gods that tried to destroy Sabertooth. With them gone, the lands have been freed, but have fallen in disarray. People live divided, and through certain conflicts the very lands themselves have started working against the people that reside in it, nature and magic alike turning against them. Through draught and natural phenomenons, migrations and rivalries have sprouted, only growing worse the more the situation escalates. The only way to calm them is an ancient ritual, disguised as a festival to soothe the masses and the lands alike. During this festival the universe and stars are worshipped, and it moments of calamity, a mage with affinity to the stars is selected to lead the festivities. For one day and night said mage will hold absolute authority, but has to call upon and gain the blessing of the stars during the ritual, asking them to bless and soothe the angered lands.

Imai, as a stellar mage, will have to take this task upon him, as no star-aligned mages have been born in these lands in centuries. You will need to use your new authority to keep two rivalling clans from fighting it out during the fesitval, as well as find out which stars will hear your call and bless the lands in your name, so peace may reign once more.

Seeing as these lands are foreign to you, your companion will act as guide, translator if need be, and battle companion throughout this exam, sporting similar stats as you.
