A walk in the Castle (Grim/Private) SPDDlSH

It was a quiet time and day in Helheim for a change. As of the holidays, things had been getting a slight stir in those whom stayed under Grim’s rule due to the seasons change. Of course, the maid knew her personal master was just the type of person to give more than just a passing gift of sparring a life. Granted, her time here was few and far between due to her duties in the guild, but she’d made the effort to come out to visit and spend more and more time with Grim ever since Halloween’s time had come about. She was excited for the most part to be here, more than ever since they came here to reclaim it for the reaper herself. No matter how many times she’d come to visit, the memories would sill rise back into her mind as though she were watching them again and again. Nothing at this point that could deter her. If anything, it proved something to her.

Today’s visit to Helheim came to be a bit more of an invitation than it had anything else. While she wasn’t opposed to come, she was allowed to dress how she pleased for this. Well, the first thing she assumed it to be was a trip somewhere. Be it a job in which being dressed as a maid was not applicable perhaps? There wasn’t much of a way for the Demi-dragoness to be able to read the mind of the woman she spent so long admiring and remaining so faithful towards. Besides, after meeting the younger self known as Alexandra, there was no way that she could not picture Grim to be who she used to be. Both were led into a world they didn’t want, but now that they accepted this world, they were more than happy to move forward as they were. Better of her own accord than by someone else’s demands.

As per her usual entry, Sanguine had flown in of her own winged accord and upon her descent to the front of the castle doors, she set those back “away” as though it was second nature to her now. Thankfully so, as the beginning of doing this was just horribly painful for her. Doors opened up and another of a couple maids whom they’d taken in had scurried off with a happy smile on her face upon the maid arriving. She took to leaving her to her duties as she was probably Grim’s little look out. In the meantime, the maid took a seat on a chair. She wanted to rest up from the flight from Mt. Hakobe unto this castle. It was a long journey, but for Sanguine, she was worth it every moment. All the while of her sitting in wait, she pondered just what Grim wanted her to so suddenly come by. No matter, she was free to do whatever anyway.~

_____Even though Alexandra had arrange, rather called Sanguine the woman was nowhere near ready. Frame bolted around her chamber as she tried to find everything she needed, rather felt was such. Hair tools, make-up, cloths and countless other things quickly flew over the normally composed woman's shoulder to the maids trying to help out. Hands scrambling her hair franticly as she rushed past the maids mumbling to herself.

"No,no,no... none of that works... Sanguine will wonder why I got all dress up... GAAH why are dates so hard on the people who try to plan them in secret!"

_____Grim shouted to herself as she rushed to the next closest and tossed more cloths and things out. The maids watching nervously exchanged worried looks before straitening up again as Grim stormed past to start check the cloths across the bed. In all the time they had been there, not once had Grim refereed to spending time with another woman a date, much less been this worked up about it. Throwing the cloths into the air as Grim growled in anger and the fabrics shot back into thier spots as grey smoke coiled the reaper.

"Maybe just under-dress? Normal cloak and all that... but I want to impress her..."

_____Grim was about to keep talking to herself before a maid entered and informed her Sanguine was already here. The reaper going from a normal panic to full-blown as she barked at the maids to help her get ready and attend to her hair while telling the other to go get Sanguine. Grim wanted today to stand out, something the two could fondly remember for more then just what the reaper hoped to happen.

_____Likely by the time Sanguine arrived, Grim would be sitting at the mirror, mostly calmed down or at the least hiding the prior worried nature and air about her. The maids though nervously looking between each other before trying to send a silent message to Sanguine 'She is acting odd...' Though considering the two always seemed to have that look when caught between Grim and Sanguine it was likely lost that today was an odder sight for them. Grim cleared her throat as she moved to look and smile at Sanguine.

"My apologizes Sanguine, even though I picked the meeting time and always stress timelyness... here I am still getting ready... forgive me..."

_____Grim spoke calmly, though hints of tension rung her her voice as she rose while the maids moved away. Walking over as her cloak turned from the grey smoke that hid her body, into the black robes she seemed to always wear, then into a black silken dress open at the front. Reaching to pull Sanguine in to playfully kiss the woman's neck and hold her tightly with a flirtish caress of her calf and rear with both hands before moving away with a smile.

"Shall we get going then?" Grim chimed as she reached a arm out for Sanguine to take while walking towards the room's exit and eventually the castle doors. The stress bubbling below as Grim wondered how she could achieve what she hoped in the best possible way.
Nothing will cast me out, EVER AGAIN!

Whatever was going on had begun to stir quiet a strange commotion among the castle from what she gathered. A spare few new faces passed her and with a gleeful wave of her hand and a cheerful smile upon the maid’s face made even them smile just a little before hurriedly moving back to the work they were so rampantly working at. What was going on here today? Whatever it was, not seeing Grim at the very moment was a little more of an upsetting thing for her. If this wasn’t a cause for concern, maybe her lack of presence had begun to stress things out here? No, if that were the case, she would have been in uniform and laid down the lay of the land among the ladies to get them moving. No, this was something much more different than she expected it to be.

This inability to conclude the reason was only making it much harder to figure out. The sheer excitement had the younger kid in her excited to solve the new mystery at hand, but she didn’t want to move too far ahead and be caught off guard either. No matter. A couple giggling maids returned to the white haired maid and informed her that Grim was ready to see her. They didn’t want to tell her, but she knew she was moving towards the masters room, so this could only be a few things. Judging by the fact Grim did not come by herself, this was no fact of a punishment, which was thankful for her. Those could be very brutal and definitely impactful for even someone of Sanguine’s mental composure.

When she arrived, she was nearly taken aback by the scenery. Various grooming tools laid out on the tables and the whispering to the maids before being waved out had her new suspicions in tact. Once they left, the blood mage simply shut the door and stepped closer toward Grim while her apologizing continued on. ”There’s no need to apologize, Master Grim~” She replied with a caring expression on her face. Even while the very clothes reshaped and colored themselves before her, she embraced that master initiated embrace and each of her flirtatious kissing and motions with a giggle. Before they even would begin, taking her arm of course in acceptance, she simply took her other hand and gently placed it on Grim’s cheek softly. ”You could be dressed dirty and tattered rags, hair in every which way as though you just woke up from sleep and I would still think you’re the most beautiful, right? And I don’t mean that as a maid complimenting her master. But once you do say you do, we can begin~” If she were able to take her hand from her cheek, she would do just that, her arm fixing itself back to a more comfortably interlocked position wrapped gently around the red heads inviting one.

_____Grim wanted to start crying, had she not needed to keep face before the other maids, and of course sanguine at the current time she would have. All the woman's life after she made that deal had made her think she was destine to be alone and simply destroy everything in her wake. But every time she was with Sanguine, she could relax, show a side she had almost lost entirely. Yet what had ever given the woman in return, but the reaper's drama?

_____It was that fact she wanted to show Sanguine, prove just how much the woman meant to her. How much her life had been given back when she walked in. Sure it was more like dragged in, if Grim thought back to how she first met Sanguine. She could still at times look over to the woman and see her, the young nun she and someone else had taken into Nightmare. Part of Grim wondered, if she did not do such, would the woman still come into her life and help her keep sanity?

_____Sanguine, was spared Grim's overthinking, though would get to see the woman seem off her usual stature. She was not trying to look like a ruler, not glaring or seeming to plan how to torment someone or another. She was not making it look like every step she took was changing the world. She was shy, blushing a bit as she kept looking back to Sanguine every so often. She seemed to forget to breath at times, or stumbled a bit. Grim was normal, for the first time in so long she seemed to be a normal person with a clear crush or something even she could be embarrassed about on her mind.

_____When Grim took notice, she tried to salvage some of it. Moving to walk normally, to hide her blush and focus more on where they went rather then her thoughts for now. Grim wanted to show Sanguine more sides of herself, but for the time being she had to make sure the woman would not cast her out like so many others had. Looking over and at times waving to some of the residents of Helheim as she passed out of natural respect before returning her focus to Sanguine.

"Maybe having the date in Helheim was a bad idea..." Grim spoke, not exactly catching her own word choice until it had slipped out as she blushed badly.
Nothing will cast me out, EVER AGAIN!

Some might try to refer to the life she had been pushed into as nothing but a Stockholm syndrome of sorts that had gone array. At first, that was just what she had thought this was going to come to; becoming some opinion stricken weapon to wreak havoc in others names and stuck in a frilly uniform to only impact the idea that she had no free will do anything, even to dress herself in her own choice of attire. When she first met Grim, it was just that. The chip Nightmare implanted in her made her listen to every command and act upon it. Even to think back to having to act like a genocidal cat girl provided her no fun. Bitter beginnings that brought about a whole new person, really.

In time, however, being the subservient maid to the reaper brought her a new perspective. Through punishments and gifts, she saw the light, so to speak. The life she was transitioning into was not as bad as she had thought it to be. If anything, the maid was simply being what she always dreamt of, only under the guise of a different title. It only took the time to see the perspective of her time her amnesia to realize this. Once this became apparent to her as it had, she was willing to put her heart into being a maid for the rest of her life if she had to, or even wanted to. She was still able to help others, though those purposes were almost never for the right reasons, the feeling she got of others approval was something she lacked in her life. To get this now only fueled the starving childish mentality that was taken from her.

With Grim, she was able to feel like a normal person after some time. The idea of moving from a simple foot stool to something more along the lines as a cuddle buddy for the sake of terms was a sign to her. Something like that proved to be what she always wanted; approval from authority figures. And as that time went on, she got to see more and more of Grim for who she was past the veil of death and suffering. It wasn’t until the Halloween party that she’d gotten to see made it clear that she wasn’t just smoke and mirrors. It helped her see Grim for the person she truly was and even piecing things about her from their past together that helped her realize that she wanted to stay that way, or at least in control. Something that recently even she had some troubles with.

It was quite apparent that side was here before the two of them by how she was acting. Normally, Grim was a very sturdy and focused person. Now? She could probably be blown down by the flick of someone’s finger. But all that did for her was make her smile. Nothing out of amusement as far as finding it funny, but it was very cute to see someone as strong and intimidating as she was to act to meek and bashful. Even as they had traveled through the streets, it gave her a sense of pride in her choice to chase her feelings in this way towards her. Knowing there was more to her than just a cold, bloodthirsty monster was what she hoped would happen. And these hesitations were unable to be faked for sure. ”I assure you, it wouldn’t have mattered the choice. But here at least, you’re probably most comfortable, master.” She replied, knowing had she of gone somewhere else, the moments they’d share together might not be the same.

”I miss this, you know. Being by your side. I love the guild and all it’s done for us, so my hope that you are happy with having joined after all has been wavering on me for some time.” Sanguine paused for a moment once they turned onto another road in the castle, turning the red headed reaper toward her, her face brightly lit with a smile a mile wide. ”I just want to start this little date of ours with a thank you. Without you, I don’t know what might have come of me after Nightmare. No matter what, in my eyes you saved my life and provided me with more than I could have hoped for. It doesn’t matter of any other circumstances, but that you showing me this side of you, on top of everything else over these years, I wish to give you something special to me.”

For a moment, she paused. Unknowing of how to really bring this up in the right context, she struggled to come out with it at first, but with a quick action to breath, it came to her. Or at least she thought it did. ”The one name you’ve always called me by has been what they gave me. I don’t want us to start a relationship off of the past. So...” Taking Grim’s hands, she would look right into the reapers eyes as she would continue. ”I would like to formally introduce myself~ I am Madison Anicetus Richter. And if you choose to, you can continue to refer to me as Sanguine, Black Rose, or however you wish. But I felt if I was able to say it, that I would make sure you of all people would know.” Though it felt like little to simply say a name to someone they had known, the circumstances in this case made it much more sentimental to her that she get it out of the way before they would continue on. Much more than that, she wondered if Grim would do the same for her. Of course she knew it, but she wanted her master to tell her, or it just wouldn’t mean the same to the maid.

_____Sanguine, oh how Grim was fighting every normal urge to try and play with the woman for making her emotions dance like so. Grim was the one who should have been thanking her, yet she failed to form the words at all let alone find a way that would save some face since they walked among people who knew Grim at some of her worst moments. She was a monster, but she wanted to keep her happy ending close to her and that was Sanguine.

_____Hearing the once and true name of the woman however, stung Grim on a different level. Her frame seemed to grow slightly distant by reaction, her gaze turning dark as she feel back to slightly old ways. She damned to many, to be happy, she was one of the reason's Sanguine was not called Madison anymore and as such she had no right at all to speak that name. Grim would move to stand a slight way away from Sanguine, looking at her own hands and seeing many things she wished she did not.

"I don't deserve to call you that name... I am the reason you lost it and have done countless things to not be allowed that luxury... The monsters I create... the monster that I am and became before you... the false hope... that maybe I can get a happy ending..."

_____Alexandra tightly clenched her fist, she knew damn well she did not deserve a good ending, did not deserve to have someone like Sanguine, Madison in her life. She knew that one day, no doubt she would bring it to ruin, or worse harm Sanguine more then ever forgiving or apology could mend. That, only led to even more darkness, as Grim would not let that be the end, she would no doubt force the woman to remain, her own greed and selfish desire would overturn the thing she knew was right like so many times before.

    "I... I can't..."

_____Senses returned, tears forming and rolling down Grim's face as she looked at Sanguine, and saw the cruel fate she would likely inflect and unable to bare the idea. She loved Sanguine, and the risk was to great, to much for her as she turned away and started to run away from the woman. Grim hated herself, she was either a coward or a monster, A child or a demon. She wanted her last memory of Sanguine to be good, but here she was running away crying without so much as a real explanation behind it.
