Get that a bunch of diff types of mages though wondering why we don't have a General strength of mages like we have a speed for running and the like. Heard someone mention and got me thinking for when in events or threads with a lot of people would be strange having a D-rank one hitting a huge tower just cause wants to while B cant.

Well.  Strength is more vague and changeable,  variable.  Meanwhile to stick truer to source material... the 25% increase concept used with speed doesn't really work.

So to gain strength numbers,  doubling as normal between ranks is more reliable.
Using the average human as a baseline,  the pounds a player per rank could squat by default are:

    125lbs D
    250lbs C
    500lbs B
    1000lbs A
    2000lbs S
    8000lbs H (As usual being 3x S not 2x like normal ranks)

But that's kind of a lot for mages who don't have physical abilities/magics to merit such a growth.

There could be an Allowance range where you can go to -99% to +300% at D.   +200% at C.  +100% at B.   25% at A.   +0% at S.    To compensate for natural human accomplishment and training.   This % increase not effecting physical damage,  just lifting power.

A beefcake character vs a more delicate individual.    Human record goes up past 1,000lbs.  Also baring in mind that this is just squats.  Not that I know the particulars,  but this is hardly casual lifting numbers,  but maximum support.   Would be effected by "Strength" buffs of course.

Not a bad scale considering even a child mage freaks out regular humans by picking up objects that weigh wayyyy more than a normal kid should be able too. 125lbs at D-Rank seems good.

This is a nice thing to have imo, simply for the reason that it could heavily affect what users could pick up.

But there could be the argument that some people are naturally stronger anyway due to their backstories or how the user built them to be. There are a few people who built their stories and character identity to be like that,

That's what the -99% to +300% (-100%/rank (C, B, A)) is for in the example I gave.  To establish variance.  No penalty to taking the hit either as Lifting is one aspect of Strength,  not effecting your physical damage dealt since it's separate from Strength (Strength effects lifting,  lifting doesn't effect strength).

You could even suggest that strength buffs are twice as effective towards Lifting.

The idea is fine but the biggest issue is do we really want to define everything on site? I could understand if this site was based on PvP but it's not. The site never really had been based on PvP so why do we need to define everything?

Also the speed rules were made because PvP was planned to be a defined thing also but that fell through as we decided the site was better left with PvP as an option and that we shouldn't put much work into it because of how hard it would be to really implement and we'd have to change apps again with everyone being edited, etc, etc.

The site is based on RP and is not based on PvP so let's not define things more than they are because if we do then we will have to define everything else like HP and damage(which right now is up to the people RPing and the 'rules' up are an option to use) among other things. It will just make the site into a game instead of an RP which if that's what the majority want then it's a possibility but I doubt people want the site that way.

This is why I said for events and the like. Not saying should limit everything can do, just when doing site wide stuff or things that affect site plot. Sorta like optional rules.

Strength is extremely hard to determine, mostly because in real life, we have high schoolers who can bench press well-over 200lbs vs. adult males who can barely lift 100lbs. The range is far too wide of a gap, logically speaking, to simply define it on the site, even when it comes to events and pvping. At this point, I'm in agreeance with Cirven. Not everything needs to be defined.

It doesn't need to be defined at all though. I learned in the past the hard way that if you put any 'rule/guideline' up for people they will have issue with it. Plus everyone is different over just rank and magic. Like I'm the lore Gray and Erza can lift crazy amounts of weight from the beginning why others cannot even lift their own weight at higher levels.

Making this a thing only limits people more on what they can do on site. Only issue with events is when people OP themselves out which last time that happened it had nothing to do with what they could lift but their magic so I don't really see this as a necessity to make a rule for that reasoning either.

But I am only one person and could be completely wrong. I'm not perfect in any sort of way but will state my opinion with the experience I have with being staff and a dev. So if it's seen as needed by staff and many others then that's fine and we will go from there.

This really doesn't need a rule or guideline for. Just another thing for people to lord over each other while also making a rank k culture of 'H rank is best at everything no matter what.'
Also, H is not 3x S anymore, that changed back when I was just becoming a mod.

Instead of defining specific numbers, why not having it defined by your body weight.
    Such as:

D Rank: Lift 1.5x body weight
C Rank: Lift 2x body weight
B Rank: Lift 3x body weight
A RAnk: Lift 5x body weight
S RAnk: Lift 7x body weight
    H RAnk: ...... Profit!

    -----
To be honest, I don't really like how things are defined like that such as range and speed of spells. Both of those are rather pitiful in my opinion (don't get me started on speed of airships. The old aircraft mechanic part of me is getting triggered thinking about it).

    Why can't we use:

D Rank: Weak, slow, can't reach far
C Rank: A little stronger, a little faster, can reach a bit further
B Rank: Strong, swift, can reach pretty far
A Rank: Stronger, swifter, can reach much further
S Rank: Super Strong, Super fast, can reach super far
H Rank: Superhuman Strength, Superhuman Speed, Can reach extremely far

Considering that speed and distance aren't really that big of a deal and just let people RP out the distances themselves and speeds themselves would make for better RPing and just generally easier time grading magic.
