The sun could not be seen through the veil of fog and dark grey clouds, which gave the surroundings a dull blueish hue. A foul odor was in the air, the wreak of death in the swamp of decay. pools of murky water, that produced a foul smelling gas that shrouded the environment were scattered throughout the marsh, with a labyrinth of mossy trails running between them. Dead trees sprouted here and there, but were incapable of growing more than a few meters high. The foul marshes seemed to go on forever in all directions and it seemed a miracle to the White Wizard that anyone would be able to find their way in such a place. It was definitely a good location for a Guild that didn't want to be found.

The bottom half of the white wizards clothes, were drenched in mud, from trekking through the foul marshes for so long. A look of disgust was plainly visible on his face. On any normal occasion, Shuhei would soar over such a rough terrain. Were it not for his ignorance of their destination, He would already be there. So onward, Shuhei marched. Slopping through the thick, muddy terrain. Each step, sinking ankle high in to filth that sucked his legs in further and refused to let go. Yanking his foot from the ground, Shuhei realized he'd lost his sandal in the mud, with no hope of getting it back. "God damnit, why can't Savage Skull be located in a more convenient location... Like a day spa! That'd be the last place I'd look for a Dark Guild..." Shuhei would say sarcastically to his companion leading the way. He'd continue to curse as he followed along, hoping that their destination was soon upon them.

The Spooky Forest, a vast and large woodland that stretched out from the edge of Fiore to over the borders of Bosco and Seven. A no mans land that housed a variety of landscapes, one of which wasn't easily traversed namely the Foul Marshes. A large unexplored land of mud and mist, and considered one of the most dangerous places in all the realms.

Not just because of the many beasts that could lurk here, but also because this was the home of one of the darkest of guilds Fiore had ever witnessed. Namely the ominous Savage Skull. A dark guild that had made its mark upon the world through atrocities and senseless destruction. Why did they do that you ask? Well nobody knows, probably even its own members wouldn't even know why. Maybe it was the lust for power, the need to have more. Even when more isn't enough. Or maybe it was the gluttony that they couldn't stop, the insatiable hunger to devour all that was good. Either way, it was certain that Savage Skull was as unpredictable as its members were unstable.

Traversing through the mud and mist to this unholiest of places, was an odd and maybe even a reluctant pair. One titled as the white wizard and a hero of Fiore. The other one, the dark clad mage Shuhei talked to, the exact opposite. As he was the very villain, who stood against the so called heroes of Fiore.

'That wouldn't be very dark now would it' replied Frederick equally sarcastic. Obvious frustrated from the hours, no several days of walking even. From the moment they'd entered the dark forest, it had been a frustrating hell. 'But fret no more, we're almost there'

As Frederick said that, he'd finally felt underneath the sole of his booth the solid formation of normal ground. Not the soggy mud that would grasp around his legs and try to suck him down, but actual land. Not that it was a fun sight to behold. As it was even more dead then the very swamp.
Slowly the mist dispersed in front of them, as the two mages would walk up this piece of land what appeared to be some sort of hill. Which on closer examination was actually a barrow. They could see the dark ominous building that was no other then the dark guild, Savage Skull, itself.

Post by Mifune 7th February 2016, 6:26 am

It came as quite a relief, solid ground. It was tiring to say the least, walking through the mud for days and it was well worth a deep sigh of relief. Shuhei walked alongside Frederik towards the Barrow, a mound of earth and stone over a mass grave. This was not the only one, farther ahead of them there were more. Come to think of it, Savage Skull used to have thousands of followers. During the battle of Magnolia, they had an army. One could only wonder how many corpses laid under these mounds of dirt. Victims and followers, It was truly a land of death, which brought to mind the insanity of their mission. Shuhei furrowed his brow, and clutched the butt of his sword. He hated Savage Skull for so long, and hated them still for what they had done. He would repay their savagery, with his own savage command when he and Frederik accomplished their mission.

Shuhei's train of thought was derailed however, when a bright flare shot in to the sky. It left a trail of smoke behind it, and upon reaching its peek height, it burst in to a light blue sphere of light that illuminated the Foul Marsh for quite a distance. "It can't be!" Shuhei shouted, as he ran to the top of the Barrow, and peered in to the distance. Surrounding a single, extremely large mound of earth, an army of Rune Knights made their presence known. They spawned seemingly out of nowhere, concealed by black tunics. Their staves glowed brightly, as they bombarded the mound of earth with artillery spells. "The Magic Council intends to finish them!"

Shuhei was now faced with a dilemma... The Rune Knights stood between him and the Guild he hoped to acquire. He could not reveal himself to them, lest they recognize him and bring his motives to light. He could not allow them to continue their assault, lest they completely annihilate the Guild and relinquish any hopes he might have of accomplishing his goal. Shuhei clutched the grip of his sword tightly, as he weighed his options, few of which there were.

Post by Godlike Frederik 7th February 2016, 6:59 am

There it was, the silhouette of the large grey building that called its self Savage Skull slowly revealed its self through the mist. Standing as a beacon of darkness, in an even more dark land. Or as Frederick would call inside his mind... home.

However something was wrong, the guild that considered themselves the apex of all that was wrong, stood in the midst of a sea of Rune Knights. A large army that was dispatched by the magic council to eradicate the darkest of guilds once and for hall.
Drums were to be heard. A slow monotone sound, echoing through the endless marshes as it indicated a their march towards the front gate.

'Now of all times!' following Shuhei up the barrow, Frederick as well glared over the large gathering of Rune Knights. Cursing his own luck. That especially now, the Rune Knights had finally managed to venture through the dark forest and the Foul Marshes to finally settle an old grudge.

Frederick looked to his side, staring at Shuhei for a moment. His face frowned, his hand clutched around the hilt of his sword. His knuckles showing white, as he grasped so tightly that Frederick wondered if he the man was going to break through his own weapon.
He didn't need to guess what the man was thinking, it was obvious. Even Frederick could see that. Here in front of him was an entire army, that was throwing a wrench in his plans. Sure he could face the army and break through to the guild. But not without revealing himself.

Even if he was to conceal himself, his magic, his fighting would immediately tell them who he was. No if they were to succeed, the white dragon had to stay hidden. Which meant only one thing, it was up to Frederick to leave behind everything first. Then again... wasn't that exactly what Shuhei brought him along for. To be the guide into the darkness, and eventually be his darkness as well.

'Back then... up on that mountain ridge' Frederick finally spoke up 'you said that you needed the old me. It seems you will have it sooner then I anticipated'

Partially reluctant Frederick stepped forwards. Not really wanting to leave behind he had build up in his new life. But he new that it was the only way, he knew the measure and weight of the burden that the two mages took on the moment they shook hands. From that single event, the gears of fate had started turning in a no way back.

we paint white roses red, each shade from a different person's head

The last thing that you'd hope to encounter when you return from a long, exhausting journey from your homeland, is to encounter your beloved home destroyed, and about to be erased from the face of earth entirely. Corpses of Rune Knights and Savage Skull members lying all around, now an even more terrifying aura of silence and death surrounded the already scary Savage Skull Guild Hall, now most of it destroyed, the fortress down. A few days had passed since Janna had managed to return from Bellum; she had literally been forced to return to her birth place and seek her beloved father, the only one who could help her. Something bad was happening to the Philospher's Stone, and although she could sense the problem, the ReQuipper had absolutely no clue what was the issue, much less how to solve it. Although she knew certain things about Alchemy, this mysterious science which permitted her creation, the Artificial Human's knowledge was no match to her father's, hence why she needed his help. She had been gone for roughly a month; after all, the journey from Fiore to Bellum was rather long. Yet in the Month she had been away, in the month she had left Savage Skull in somebody else's hands, everything had went to hell.

Hands on the desk, rising from her seat, the strawberry blonde-haired woman stared at the documents regarding the Rune Knight invasion, frowning. They had came to Savage Skull seeking to destroy the guild and capture her and her members, so they could execute them or throw them in jail. Why attack it, then, while Janna was out of town? They wanted her head, so why attack the guild when one of their main objectives was not in reach? It all lacked logic; and Janna had trouble understanding illogical thing. Although she was an insanely rational being, she also had a side of hers that was completely nuts. That's how she was; rational, yet about as psychotic as everyone else in the Guild. Spending nearly two years of her life in this wretched place had affected her way more, than she had anticipated. Oh well, some madness was always good. Life is no fun, if all an individual is, is rational.

Shoving the documents off of the desk, Janna let her small body fall on the comfortable chair behind her, succumbing in the silence of the half-destroyed circular guildmaster's office. How had they fallen so low. How had Savage Skull permitted such atrocities to be done to their guildhall. Janna blamed herself for the accident, though. It was her fault. This wouldn't have happened if Harrigan was still a Guild Master. She, foolish creature, had left the Guild without supervision for a month, and a disaster had happened. If only she had been there to save her Guild...

Before she could succumb more into thoughts and anger, a blinding light made her return to the real world forcefully. Looking up in surprise, the Savage Skull Guildmaster placed a hand in front of her eyes in order to shield them somewhat from the blinding light. The fact she had supperior senses to those that most humans had was a blessing, yet often a curse as well. Her sight in dark locations was much, much better than a normal human's, yet when there was a blinding light... She suffered a lot. Without hesitating for a second, the blonde jumped out of her seat, throwing her chair backwards in the hurry and ran towards the exit, rushing out of the office through the broken door, swiftly dodging the debris in her path and elegantly making her way to the outside, curses leaving her soft lips. It was impossible that this light was a good thing. For all she knew, it was either the Gods trying to abduct her once more and screw the entire situation even more, or some insane holy attack that had as an objective erasing the Savage Skull Guildhall and all the documents on the inside from the face of Earthland. In summary, this light was bad, regardless what it was. Very bad.

And Janna was right. Jumping outside of the Guildhall, she encountered herself in front of the majestic, yet demolished castle that was occupied by the members of Savage Skull, the place many of them called "home". The light still blinding her, Janna thanked the gods that she had learned through practice how to run on high heels and not trip every two seconds, because in situations like this, it was insanely useful. She'd probably have to consider a change of outfit, now that we're on the topic; her main outfit, the one she wore now, basically consisted in a red mini-skirt,  black cardigan over a white dress shirt, unbuttoned enough to expose the top of her black-and-red bra, a long tie loosely dangles around her neck, equal parts black and white, with a red "X" in a circle at the point where the colors meet, and, of course, her mid-sized black boots with platform heels and red laces. Her outfit was revealing and juvenile, more fitting to a school girl, a sixteen or seventeen years old troubled teen girl, and not a malicious, dark guild master, who didn't even know how many years she had lived, if she had lived centuries, decades, and so forth. But Janna was not going to change it. She liked how juvenile and innocent she looked dressed like that, which, combined with the fact that she always styled her hair in two pigtails made her simply look look like the most innocent being ever. It was fun to see people think she's innocent, seconds before she made their head roll on the floor, separated from their neck.

Back to the issue at hand, though. Making her way through the blinding light, Janna finally got out of the radius of the enormous beam of light, cursing. Rubbing her eyes, she looked up, her eyes meeting with an even worse panorama; hundreds of Rune Knights were marching towards the Savage Skull, determined to finish off what they had begun. Leading them was Colonel Dumont, a savage smile adorning her lips.

Now that's what I call a sore loser. Several days ago, Janneline had threathened to erase her and her entire family from the face of Earth if she didn't retire her troops and herself. What a majestic error she had made leaving her alive. However, life had offered the Savage Skull Guild Master an option to fix her mistake. As the troops approached the Blonde haired mage, the smile on Janna's face grew.

She was alone. There were hundreds of Rune Knights...

Hundreds of objectives for her swords to impale.

I see you're back, muffin. Missed me too much? I suppose the Rune Knights aren't exactly smart. I told you that I'd use your blood as paint if you returned. It's a shame that you thought my threat was a simple book reference.

Without awaiting a response from the Colonel, Janna simply crossed her arms, a bright, golden magic circle appearing beneath her slim feet. Emmiting a bright light, about as bright as the one that was surrounding the guildhall, the light engulfed Janna, only to dissapear seconds ago. Yet, it was obvious that the apparition of the light wasn't just a show. The revealing, juvenile outfit Janna wore before, when she made her appearance before the Colonel had dissapeared, exchanged with an elegant outfit, a tiara adorning the head of the Savage Skull Guild Master, a mysterious weapon in her hand. Her hair down, it fell on her back like a waterfall of light, an arrogant smile on the homunculus' lips. It's been so long since I last sacrificed a human being to Diana. I believe it's finally time for a new sacrifice. A massive one.

Thorn stood silently in the guild hall her eyes drifted over the ruins the blood stains. A month she had looked after the guild one single month and now look at it broken most of her guild mates dead, crumpled and broken on the floor of the forest, She had not done well now her name will only be known as thorn the one that killed savage skull. Sighing softly thorn slowly lifted peace's of wall from the floor making a path through the rubble rather than climbing over it all the time.

Thorn had waited days for her punishment from the guild master the look on Janne's face when she sore what had happen was not one thorn was so willing to see again, trees had fallen plants had been crushed in the ambush. thorn was so confused by it all why attack when the guild master was not there was it because they seemed weakened? thorn throw a rock that was in her hand at a wall the rock crumbled dust fell to the floor as a grunt of displeasure escaped her lips.

water lined the floor as she looked into it the dark hair woman that looked back looked like she could kill everything in her path and she swore that any rune knight that she passed would not live another day "Naraku would never have had this happen, how can I have the face of someone so formidable and yet so much has been destroyed as i watch over them!" thorn was talking to herself and turned from the water she thought of the person that had given her life and shock her head.

bright light filled the hall the flare coursed thorn to have to look away for a moment the feet of the guild master shot past her, Rune knights back again this time they where the ones dieing. Thorn shot forth appearing next to Janneline seconds after her change of cloths her eyes looked over at the rune knights as her guild master spoke she half wondered if she should speak but decided against the thought and just grasped her staff from her back and readied herself for the oncoming attack.

Post by Godlike Frederik 11th February 2016, 4:37 am

What was it that urged Frederick to take on the burden of darkness once again. Was it as simple as a decline of ones mind, his state of being so to speak. Was it the unshakeable chains of fate that always meant for him to return to what he was once again. Or was it that deep down he'd never had changed.

Many historians would speculate on that, about the very moment Frederick betrayed all he had build for himself. Wondering why a man who had found redemption. A new life, and even a place to call. Why he would toss it all away again.

Truth was, even Frederick truly didn't knew. It wasn't that his descent into the darkness came forth from an obsessive goals as before. A time were he plunged Fiore under the shadow of the Lichborne, all because he had warped and relentless quest of brining back the woman he loved from death. No this time it was different, this time he accepted it, considering it as the only means necessary to save what he had recently gained. But why he decided it so easily, that he didn't know.

With every step he took, the pressure of his magic increased. Taking shape, from inside of him to the aura around him. Manifesting in a thick black type of smoke, vaporizing from his body. Like steam would do, dwindling from a pot cooking on the stove.

Frederick stepped forwards like this, his presence starting to be felt to those around them. Or better yet in front of them. To the point it started to strike fear in the back rear of the army. As some of them started to notice what was coming.
Yet this presence was different then everything felt before, maybe even for Frederick as he hadn't felt like this in a long time. This cold demeanor, this feel of power. Unrivaled and raw, yet eerily silent. The knights probably had faced many enemies. Feeling their power as the earth shook as they would increase their power by a tenfold. Trembling and unconfined. But never something like this, a pressure unlike any one else.

The formation started to divert, scatter even as the back of the army started to notice something was wrong entirely. Unaware of what was happening at the front, at the side of the darkest of guilds. Some captains managed to retain their men, shouting commands to put fort a frail and weak new front line against the lone dark clad man, that treaded fore boding towards them.

Then out of nowhere Frederick stopped in his tracks, the army, or at least the back front of the army. Watching him in silence. The distance clatter of armor and fighting at the front, nothing more then a whisper so it seems. All waiting for what came next.

    'Thorns of Demise....'

Frederick didn't shout, nor did he speak loudly, he just uttered the words of his spell in a normal manner. Yet that didn't mean the impact of the spell was any less strong then what Frederick intended it to be.

Out of nowhere the darkness around Frederick started expand rapidly. Larger and larger, to the point that it grew to the proportion of a sandstorm one could see in the desert, only this time pure darkness.
The soldier, the ones at the front of the back line, stepped back. As the sight of this cloud, this mass of darkness took away the very horizon itself.

'Overture!!!!' his last word resounded, echoing over the entire army. As it rolled rumbling down towards the army of Knights. Tendrils sprouting from it as it descended upon them like a tidal wave of death.

thorn smirked softly her hand moved inches coursing a root to sweep over knocking the front line of the rune knights to there asses and laughed softly. a split second was all it tock the plants informed thorn of the assistance that came from two mages close but the image of one she could swear she knew him to thorn but she had no clue to why. in that moment Thorn had rune nights on her surrounded she could no longer see her guild master, cut off from any help thorn had to do this alown and out numbered "if any of you survive i look forward to torturing you!" she hissed through gritted teeth.

gripping her staff thorn smirked lightly this should be a challenge one she was happy to face. her eyes watched the rune nights watching for an advancement and it came one of the men stepped forward thinking that thorn was small and delicate how hard could she be was a incorrect assumption. pushing her staff towards thorn struck him in the chest the manipulated the staff and it started to drill through her opponents chest protruding the other side the niddle point shot out stabbing another rune night one that was in the same line as the first. her smirk widened and thorn toke a deep breath then ex-sailed a dark black smoke that started to chock anyone that was weak and even kill some straight away.
