Job Requirements: Minimum of 5 posts of 150 words per character. Must ensure that the bully is dealt with one way or another.
Job Location: Magnolia
Job Description: A kid is having problems dealing with bullies at school and has been collecting as much pocket change to pay for a job. While it is chump change, the job is to scare the bully away so that the kid can have a decent life. He wants the bully to be scared and will get in trouble if the aggressor is found beaten or dead. Although Dark guilds could by all means choose to forgo the monetary reward and go straight to the extreme.
Reward: 100 Jewels or none if the bully gets hurt.

“Where did Eliot go?” Leivinia asked herself after returning from the amusement park in Magnolia. He had decided not to enter for some reason-- did he have a fear of carriages and roller coasters? Or did he just crave some alone time with Nigri the Explorer? Regardless, the young wizard would walk into a local diner. She was hungry, but also wasn’t it as good a place as any to start looking for her Dragon slaying counterpart?

“Lol ur mom has glasses nerd!”

“Huh?”

Leivinia turned her head from the table she was sitting at, witnessing a pair of students. They didn’t seem to be friends, but why were they here together then?

“H-how does my mom’s vision problems make me a nerd?” the smaller one asked, not fully understanding the insult.

“Haha you’re so gay give me your lunch money!!”

“I don’t think many people carry jewels around nowadays, and my credit lacrima is useless without the security code…”

Leivinia stopped watching the odd scene and looked at her menu.

He had no idea where Lei went. And, truth be told, he wasn’t too bothered with that fact.

She seemed fairly disinterested in getting to know him. She also seemed rather annoyed with him because of his wanting to walk to Magnolia. As he walked through the streets, he kicked the loose stones that covered the cobbled road. So far he had only accompanied one person on a job and it had been Leivinia. Maybe he was being too hard on the girl; she was rather young and she was still learning.

Maybe he could...be a role model for her or something. He mused to himself as he kept walking. It was then that he heard the bickering coming from two boys nearby. He must have been a street over but he could already hear the sound of the much larger boy viciously insulting the younger. He narrowed his eyes.

Sounds like someone is in need of help.

It was getting harder and harder to ignore the squabbling teenagers. As the waitress took Leivinia’s order she couldn’t decide between the Chicken Sandwich, the Steak Burrito, or the ‘u r a nerd--’

That was it. Their voices were in her head now and she had to do something. She abruptly got up from the table and stormed over to the pair of teenagers. “You are a nerd,” she said while pointing to the bully.

“No you.”

“I am not a nerd,” she refuted. “But why are you--”
“But why are you--”

“Huh? Are you copying--”
“Huh? Are you copying--”

“.......”
“.......”

From wherever Eliot was, he would suddenly stop hearing the arguing between the students and Leivinia. Because it was replaced by a scream. The girl who had recently joined Blue Pegasus was now lifting the bully up by the legs with a rope which hung from the ceiling. Where did that rope come from, exactly? Her Dark Matter, of course. That might have sounded cruel, but it wasn’t like she was going to kill him or anything.

Not unless he didn’t stop, obviously.

A high-pitched scream tore through the air, breaking the constant bickering that had stained the pleasant afternoon. It was enough to pull Eliot from his spot, his feet tattooing the ground with hard and quick footfalls. He raced around the corner, his face stoic and serious. The bully had clearly upped his level of torment and the younger boy was now in danger. It was his duty to intervene, it was his responsibility to-...

As he rounded the corner he found...a very strange sight. He knew Lei had intervened in the squabble, adding her own insults into the mix. But now the young girl had the bully strung up by a magically created rope. His legs bound, all he could do was scream at the top of his lungs and wave his arms around for something to save him. The boy that had been picked on was laughing heartily and it even seemed Lei was happy with herself.

But Eliot was not happy. “Lei! What are you doing with him? Put him down right now!”

“But…”

Eliot had appeared out of nowhere and he didn’t seem happy with her. Why was that? He probably just didn’t know the situation. Shrugging, the Dark Matter slithered back into the ceiling and disappeared, causing the bully to fall to the ground.

She pointed at him.

“He was being rude,” she explained her actions reasonably. Not wasting any time, the bully scrambled to his feet, unsure of whether he should run or pick a fight with Leivinia. The latter seemed unconcerned. “Isn’t that what you’re supposed to do as a wizard?” she questioned, scrunching her nose up. “Using magic to help people that don’t have it?”

It was entirely possible she didn’t know what being a wizard was about, but wasn’t that the gist of it? It’s what they had been doing all day, after all. In fact, this time Leivinia wasn’t even being paid for her services.

Or did Eliot just want to help scold the bully?

“I…” Eliot began to explain, his left fist posted on his hip and his right, metallic hand pointed at her. And it was then that he realized he must have looked ridiculous. He could remember his mother taking this exact stance with him whenever he got in trouble. Scorning eyes, finger wagging shame and the casual head shake to portray disappointment. He had left the home but the home hadn’t left him.

He quickly dropped his stance and cleared his throat. No, Lei was young just like him and was only beginning to understand her powers. He couldn’t just scold her like he was so adult. That was the problem; he was already looking at himself like he was better than her. He wasn’t and he needed to stop pretending he was.

“Yes Lei but to a point. We use it to protect people from real danger; like monsters and bandits. A bully picking on a kid is not a situation where we use our magic, you know?” He sounded sincere, really wanting to help Leivinia understand.

“But at the same time, we don’t just let trouble run wild. And we can help people in need without our magic.”

“Helping… without our magic?” The idea seemed incredibly silly. Her and Eliot were by no means powerful, but they did have unique magic and seemingly endless potential. Maybe he did have a point about not needing magic for this job, and that she was overkilling it, but…

Wouldn’t that be a job for somebody else? A teacher, a parent, a law enforcer, somebody without magic? This seemed like a waste. In fact, her Father had taught her given her this magic and encouraged her to use it. Why would she listen to Eliot instead of her Father?

“I… don’t really get it,” she readily admitted. “But I won’t use magic.”

Her eyes scanned over the bully and her mouth had a bad taste. “I don’t really think he should get away with this, though.” How could they make the student stop bullying without using magic? Or, should they have simply trained the nerd to stop being a nerd? She silently stood by Eliot’s side, ready to follow his prompts.

Surely he had a solution in mind?

“I know it seems strange.” He admitted, waving his hands in front of him quickly. He was trying to explain something that he wasn’t entirely educated on. Eliot scratched the side of his head as he tried to think of a better way of paint the picture for her.

“Hey kid, come here for a second.” He said, waving the younger one over. The kid adjusted his glasses and hastily made his way over to the duo of wizards. “You seem like a smart kid, based on what I was hearing from you. I’m sure you have dealt with this everyday and yet you keep on going. Now do you think what my friend here was doing was right? I know that a-...”

“Yes.”

A pause. “What?”

“I’d do exactly the same thing. He deserves it. And worse!” The kid said snarling. He twisted around and glared at the bully, who was suddenly feeling like he was outnumbered.

Eliot hopped in front of the kid’s vision. “No, that’s not the right answer! I thought you were smart!”

“Did you….. just call me stupid?”

Leivinia was looking at the ground, eyes hidden by her blonde hair. Her fist was definitely balled up and the killer intent could be felt in the entire room. She could solve this problem with her magic, but the voice of Eliot resounded in her head. “You don’t need magic to solve your problems,” she instructed the nerd. And then...

SWOOSH!

Her fist would tear through the air, aiming right for Eliot’s jaw! In hindsight, punching the Iron Dragon Slayer with a fist probably wasn't the smartest decision made that day. Her hand would surely be throbbing if it connected and it was completely worth it. Maybe you didn't really need some mystical power in order to solve your problems.

Oh, wait. Or was the lesson here that you didn’t need violence?

Oops.

Well, Eliot definitely couldn’t say that the lesson was an entire loss. But he definitely went about it entirely wrong.

He heard Lei’s voice squeak out, asking a question that he had entirely not meant. As he turned to her, his mouth hanging and his voice caught in his throat, he was blindsided by the young girl’s fist ramming into his face. The teenage Dragon Slayer soared through the air, screaming and flailing his limbs wildly. His only respite was the building that caught him, its walls folding in from the stress and pressure his body exerted upon it.

“What the hell?!” One of the patrons yelled, looking down at Eliot sprawled upon a broken set of lacrimas. His head was spinning and he looked up at her, a silly little smile cracked across his face. “Sorry ma’am. Missed my flight by that much.” He insisted in his half-dazed state.

Over by the Lei and the nerd, the bully nearly wet himself when he saw what the young girl was capable of. His eyes flickered back and forth from the hole in the wall to the duo in front of him. And then with a cry he ran away, his own arms wagging in the air behind him.

And the nerd learned that day that fear was the best weapon against bullies.
