    job info:

    Job Title: Twilight’s Nest

    Rank: 10 Year

Player Requirements: 2 S-Ranked Mages. Maximum of 3. One A-Rank may accompany the two S-Ranks.

Job Requirements: Kill the Master Vampire and take back the locket of the client. The Vampire Lord has taken over the Haunted Guild in the Cursed Land and it’s up to you and your group to defeat all who stand in the way of your goal. In the abandoned hallways of the Haunted Guild, which has been that way since the incident, creatures of the night have turned it into their home. Must make at least 1 monster roll every five posts while inside the Haunted Guild unless fighting monsters, then the counter resets. Example: Rolling a monster on the 4th post of the job and you are fighting for 6 posts, you do not have to roll on the 10th post. 350 words minimum per post and the thread must be at least 60 posts long.

    Job Location: Haunted Guild

Job Description: A powerful Vampire gone good has written a job that everyone chooses to ignore because of the powerful threat that awaits whatever foolhardy group that *does* take it. He has knowledge that a nest of Vampires resides inside of the Haunted Guild in the Cursed Lands and wants a group of mages to take out the Master Vampire who rules over all of the fledglings under him. It is for revenge and for the locket that once belonged to him, but was taken when he was kicked out of the nest for going against the word of the master. Though they’d never kill their own kind, they had no problem exiling the man who has promised a grand reward for anyone to infiltrate the nest and take his locket back. Throughout the halls of the Haunted Guild, screams of the tormented mages who once resided there can still be heard, putting the vampires to sleep who consider them to be lullabies, though most would consider it shockingly unsettling. You’ll have to fight your way through hordes of hell hounds, thralls, and fledgling vampire to get to the guild master’s chamber, which is the master resides. The halls will be blood stained as you make your way through them, the blood belonging to the thralls they use to feed off of. Each of the Vampires have an innate weakness to fire, lightning, and silver. Despite them though, they are also immune to physical attacks that aren't inflicted with a silver weapon. Come prepared, as your client will be waiting for you outside of the Haunted Guild and will even provide each mage in your group with a silver dagger, use it wisely. This is the beginning of a migration that these monsters have had from Sin... What could have caused this is the first question that would come to most minds, though it shall be revealed in the times to come.

    Enemies:
Weak: Vampire’s Thrall – 20 find you and attack immediately. They are essentially the livestock of which the Vampires remorselessly feed off of. They vary from young Fioran woman to the manliest of Joyan cat folk. Although one is more likely than the other, it doesn't mean these creatures skip some races over others. They each have a favored blood type though, so that could potentially influence who they choose, not that it matters much. The thralls don’t use magic and are as pale as the moon that always seems to hover above the cursed land. There is no more humanity left inside of these empty shells, only blood, as they lost their lives the moment they were enslaved by the heartless creatures you have come to hunt. Alone they aren’t much of a threat, but in large groups like the ones that always seem to find you, they can do some real damage and easily overwhelm one or two mages. Each take a B-Ranked spell’s worth of damage to defeat.

Normal: Shadow Beast – 10 of these have picked up your scent and materialize out of the darkness in the hallways, showing only their piercing red eyes to those who have earned their wrath. The Shadow Beasts are the loyal companions to the Vampires and come from where they came from, Sin, around the same time as well. They always travel together in groups, such as a pride of lions, or a pack of wolves. Because of this, they are quite coordinated and have no trouble at all in tearing a target to pieces. With the strength and speed that comes second only to their Vampire masters, the Shadow Beasts are quite the force to be reckoned with. On top of their teamwork in order to take down prey, they also have power over very basic blood magic, meaning they will infect anyone they draw blood from with a disease that lasts five posts and weakens the target by halving their speed and strength. Each takes at least an A-Ranked and a half spell’s worth of damage or equivalent to take down.

Strong: Vampire Fledglings – Don’t let the name fool you. Just because they are fledglings doesn't make them any less powerful. Without any effort at all, the 5 Vampire Fledglings that have ambushed you are capable of tearing even the most competent mage to shreds, they are truly a terrifying enemy. With completely black eyes, these demons from Sin are able to use advanced blood magic. The effects of this magic include what the Shadow Beasts can do and so much more. Advanced blood magic spells include the ability to point their hand at a target who has been inflicted with a wound that drew blood and absorb 5% of their health and magic power for themselves. Not only that, but they can also use the blood of their target against them, creating sharp spikes from a single drop of blood on the floor. Of course, being the kind of monster that they are, they also come equipped with natural weapons. The natural weapons include razor sharp fangs that can pierce a jugular and drain the blood of their victim faster than they realize what’s going on, the power to hypnotize weaker mages and non-mages to do their bidding, and claws that could cut through flesh better and faster than a hot knife through butter. Of course, even an enemy that seems so powerful such as these have their weaknesses. As stated previously, the Vampires are weak to fire, lightning, and light magic, taking a whopping 50% increased damage effect from the aforementioned elements. This increase in damage also applies to weapons made of silver, though unless you have your own, longer weapon, the dagger will put you into melee range for them as well. If you are already bleeding through an open wound, this battle will become much harder, so it’s highly advised that you do not let that happen under any circumstances. On top of all the other effects, they can also point at a target with an open wound and cause even more bleeding than normal, reducing their health by 5% each post for 2 posts before the wound closes. Each fledgling can take 2 S-Ranked spells or equivalent worth of damage before falling in battle.

Boss: Master Vampire – Being the Master Vampire, he has full control over every aspect of the forbidden magic of blood. Not only can he use all of the spells of the creatures mentioned prior with the same magic, he has his own tricks up his sleeves, so extreme cautioned is advised. As powerful as the client is, he still doesn't compare to the strength that the “Count”, as his Vampires refer to him as, has. Not only is he capable of picking up objects that weigh a couple tons and move at speeds that are difficult to follow with regular eyes, he can also use spells that cause quite drastic things to happen to this target. One example is summoning a pack of Shadow Beasts to help him, which he will do once every five posts if there are no Shadow Beasts currently in the fight. Other than summoning, he can also point to an enemy with an open wound and send an infection into their blood that will paralyze them for two posts and cannot be healed away. Though this spell is quite powerful, it will only be cast once in the whole fight, so you needn't worry THAT much, but you should still worry. Other spells of his include pointing at an enemy with an open wound and causing their blood to become thinner, which will cause any small or medium laceration which may not be like a big deal bleed tremendously, which will kill you if not taken care of with a healing spell or even cauterizing the wound. The Count will use this spell three times over the course of the fight. Once his health is reduced to 50%, he will begin to use more of his stronger absorption spells on you and your group, healing for up to 10% while stealing your life force at the same time. To do this, he will fire a spike of blood at your chest and if it lands, the leeching will begin, but if it misses, he will need two posts to recharge the spell, which is the cool down. Like the other vampires, he has a weakness to light, lightning, fire, and silver, so make sure you bring a mage with one of these elements with you, as the client will mention it in the job page. It’s going to take 15 S-Ranked spells worth of damage or equivalent to take him down, and it’s more than likely going to be a looooooong fight. You will automatically encounter him after 45 posts if you haven’t rolled him already.

Reward: Upon bringing the client back the locket from around the Count’s neck, he will reward you with one of two things. One is 250k jewels right on the spot, no questions asked, take it and go. Or, you could choose the other option which is much more interesting. The client will offer to turn you into a Vampire, but will consider this as payment and will not give you the jewels should accept this offer. Being a Vampire has its positives and negatives, just like anything. During the day, you will feel weaker unless you have recently (in the last three IC days) fed on the blood of a human, animal or beast and will suffer a 75% decreased speed and strength penalty (This can be avoided by being indoors or wearing very heavy clothing from head to toe). You also have an innate weakness to light, lightning, fire, holy, and silver, taking an extra 50% damage from each. But, you have an innate strength to shadows, darkness, and unholy magic, taking 50% reduced damage from these sources. At night or in the dark, you will gain the ability to see perfectly clear as well as double your speed and strength. You will also get the power to use very basic blood magic (at the level of a Shadow Beast) and have the option of changing your primary magic to blood magic for free. Strangers will also look at you with odd looks since your eyes will change to a complete black at night or when you are blood starved. If any do choose this, they cannot turn into any other mythical beast that other jobs may allow them to turn into. (Those that are already have some kind of alternative bloodline may not choose to become this creature. Example: You are already part demon or part angel UNLESS you give up that bloodline. Note that you cannot switch back or switch to another if you do this)

(This job can only be taken once per person)

    - Credits to Zenshin for job creation.

Zenshin was on a job with two very special people tonight. Not only that, but the job itself was also something out of the ordinary. He and his fellow Knights were to take on a job given to them by a vampire. A powerful one at that. They were to go into the haunted guild and retrieve a locket from a master vampire that had taken it from the client. "Here you are, boy. Use it wisely" the client said, handing him a silver dagger just as promised. "The two others are almost here. Once we are all together, then we'll go after your locket" the guildmaster said to the vampire, reassuring him that the show was going to get started quite soon. Marick finally returned, and just as promised, his spot was given back to him. Once an Ace of Sabertooth, always an ace of Sabertooth he thought while sitting down against the wall next to the door that led to the main hall of the abandoned guild.

Not only that, but Ryo is also coming alone. I've heard that he has gotten much stronger since we last met. I really need to perform his S rank examination by the sounds of it he thought again. I'm close to getting enough power to hit the pinnacle of my magical strength... I can feel it. Especially after that job with the dragons, there isn't much more left before I'm classified as an H rank mage... he thought aloud while feeling the A-Rank limiter on his wrist. This should help me on my way there. But I'm going to need to rely on my teammates, maybe. Depends how much of a hard time these vampires give us, but under no circumstances is this coming off. He smiled. He felt as though if he used the limiter sooner, like during the job in which he and Zack saved the Royal Castle from the dragons, he would already be at that level.

Unfortunately, he didn't, he couldn't. Dragons required his entire focus and energy to defeat. A single lapse nearly cost him his life, but thankfully it was only his left forearm. Dammed beast. At least I got my revenge. It was true, he did get his revenge and now the head of the legendary golden dragon sat at the center of his guild hall's announcement platform. Definitely a glorious sight, reminding his guild members what he is capable of.

Vampire Hunting [Job] Empty Re: Vampire Hunting [Job]

Post by Guest 6th November 2014, 2:25 am

It had been a long, LONG time since Marick had last done a job. It had been even longer since he'd done a job with Zenshin, his guildmaster. The figure of the Sabertooth Ace was clad in his old black coat, something he'd ditched during his card playing days, but now was needed once more. A lot had changed since the days of Sabertooth's rebirth, and a lot had changed since Marick had left. Members had flowed in and Sabertooth was back to being rather a recognised guild. The mages that he once taught were now up to his level or even beyond it. While this would've concerned him in the past, Marick wasn't overly worried. In his absence he'd managed to learn a whole new magic, something which would normally take people years to achieve. He'd managed it in a few months while in Pergrande.

It wasn't just the guild that had changed. No, it was Marick himself and, from what he could see, Zenshin had changed too. Both of them had matured from their experiences and had come back stronger mentally as well as physically. Then there was Ryo Knetegawa, a man who'd grown so much stronger in Marick's absence that he'd become one of the guild's knights, held in high regard and now beyond Marick's own rank. The idea of teaming up with his guildmaster again as well as finally working with Ryo was something that even he was excited about.

While he had not yet revealed his return to Sabertooth to the members - he still had unfinished business to attend to in Fiore - he had informed Zenshin of his return to the country and requested a meet-up. It was only fitting really that they meet up to do a dangerous job. That was the thought that ran through his mind as he finally arrived at his destination, a cheeky smile plastered across his face as he caught sight of his guildmaster "Zenshin. Long time no see." he called out as he approached. Once he was beside the Wizard Saint, Marick looked up at the building before him. "So...we're to step into this place...it's like stepping into the lion's maw all over again..."

Post by RyoKnetegawa 6th November 2014, 6:09 pm

Ryo was giddy with anticipation about this job, but he was also far more serious than he used to be. His last mission with Ian had caused him to have great concern for his lover, but still he wasn't going to let it distract him. Instead he was going to focus on becoming stronger and hopefully that would help. He was giddy due to the fact that he was now on a mission with Zenshin. It had been quite sometime since he and Zenshin had explored the ancient ruins and Ryo obtained his gloves. He was only too happy to be once again working with his friend and the only man that he chose to bend the knee to.

Another reason for Ryo's giddyness was the fact that Marick a long missed friend was also going to be joining in the hunt. Ryo remembered when he and Marick had done jobs together and he had been a mentor to Ryo when he was younger. Now that he had gained so much power Ryo was honestly interested in how he would stack up with Marick. In the time of his absence Ryo had soared through the ranks and become a knight of the guild. Not to mention he had learned a brand new magic. He couldn't wait to show it off to his friend or even see his friend again. With the team in place Ryo began to think about the job as a whole. The job was almost something out of myth and legend.

The three Sabertooth magi were going to be sent into a castle to exterminate vampires. Ryo really didn't know about the whole vampires thing, but what he did know was that this would possibly be the toughest job of his legal mage career and he had to be on his toes. Thankfully if he truly did need help he knew there were two very powerful magi who would have his back. As he made his approach he saw his guildmaster and his fellow guild member were already here. This was slightly embarassing to Ryo as he was late but he simply shrugged and pulled out a tarot card and two playing cards. As he approached he carefully pat Zenshin on his back to let him know he was there, but as he removed his hand he lowered it to Zenshin's pocket and tried to slip a playing card into it. "Well it is good to see you both. Master Zenshin I am honored that you invited me on this mission."

He turned to Marick and without a warning he hugged him trying to slip the other playing card into one of his friend's pockets "Marick. I have missed you my friend. We will have to catch up and talk about where you've been and what you've seen when this is over." After giving Marick enough time to reply he pulled away and pressed a Tarot card called The Empress to his forehead "I have taken the liberty of giving you both a playing card. Hold onto it and I will be able to track where you go so if we get split up I can find you again. Don't lose it or I won't be able to find you."

With his spell cast he tucked away the empress and looked to Zenshin and Marick "Well gentlemen shall we get this mission started? We still have daylight so it is probably best to move now."

    Spells used:
Tracking card (Duration, Thread, Can't use Calling card from this point onward)

Post by King Zenshin 7th November 2014, 6:02 pm

"And I am honored that both of you would accept my insane request. Trust me when I say that ten year jobs are nothing to take lightly. I'm sure you already know this but I wanted to be completely clear-" he said, raising up his left arm towards in front of him, his elbow bent so it formed a sort of L shape across hos body. "-I lost my entire forearm on the one ten year job I have ever done to a dragon as well as being permanently scarred on my chest" he continued, pulling back his coat flap to reveal three large, diagnol scars along his chest from where the dragon's claws had torn into. "That being said, I will be relying on you two more than normally. You see, I've decided to use a limiter for this job. Why? Well I'm very close to achieving my pinnacle magical power, and what better way than using the equivalent of a magical sandbag". Zenshin had a smile on his face as he gave his teammates a thumbs up and handed them two silver daggers, one each.

"Physical attacks won't do anything to these creatures if we're to believe the client, who is a vampire himself. The only thing that will hurt them as far as physical attack goes is silver. I'm not sure about magically charged physical attacks though, so it's something to note" the guildmaster said as he pushed open the heavy wooden doors to the long since abandoned guild. "Let's try not to die today. It wouldn't be very good for the guild master, the second in command, and an ace to all die at the same time, okay?" he said jokingly, trying to ignore all the dust that was sent everywhere. The least they could 've done is sweep up a little the idle thought ran through his head as he walked forward, beginning to look left and right into the empty rooms of the haunted guild hall. "I also hope that you two don't scare easily. This guild is supposedly haunted, and I'm not just talking about the monsters we've come here to fight in the first place"

Vampire Hunting [Job] Empty Re: Vampire Hunting [Job]

Post by Guest 15th November 2014, 4:27 am

Ryo's reaction to his return had been somewhat unexpected, although he wasn't about to admit that. The card mage had felt the card being slipped into his pocket and a strong sense of nostalgia and regret burned through him. He missed the art of card magics. Nonetheless he was now considerably stronger, although he could feel the magical power radiating from Ryo and could tell that his former 'student' was now considerably more powerful than when Marick left, possibly more powerful than him now. This energy was almost like a challenge to Sabertooth's Lion; an unintentional 'catch me if you can' sort of challenge that Marick wouldn't ignore. No. He'd catch up to Ryo and maybe even surpass him again before too long. The student/mentor relationship was more like a friendly rivalry now, but one that would not interfere with their friendship nor their work.

Marick then turned his attention to Zenshin's arm and shook his head. "It would be you who lost a limb. I assume you were as confident as ever in your abilities and took your eye off the ball...still, it serves as a fair warning." he spoke calmly before rolling his shoulder to loosen it slightly. His anticipation of this job had left him somewhat tense, something which would only serve to hinder his ability should it remain. He accepted the dagger that was offered to him, looking it over in keen interest. From his time in Pergrande he had learned how to pick out a well-made weapon as opposed to a shoddy one. This weapon itself was apparently supposed to be a decorative piece. Still, it would surely serve its purpose nonetheless; daggers were not designed to block blades afterall, thus they need not be as sturdy as a sword. So long as they slipped between the ribs of the target the sharpened blade would do its duty perfectly well. As for his guildmaster's mention of the guildhall supposedly being haunted...well, that wasn't overly bothersome. "They're not my ghosts come back to haunt me, so this will be a piece of pi-...cake" He caught himself at the end of his sentence, realising he was in the company of his guildmates now after briefly returning to his rougher self. He wondered how Zenshin would react if he started to show signs of his former mercenarism attitude again.

Ryo pulled out nine cards for each hand and followed after his brothers in arms into the haunted guild hall. He didn't know what he would do, but one thing he did know was that he was going to survive or die trying to keep both Zenshin and Marick from dying. Vampires were terryfying creatures Ryo knew that, but something he actually did was pity Vampires like this. He knew well the story and while he admired their strength, power, and timeless life he felt pity for them and their lonely life. He thought about something else while he walked in behind Marick and his guildmaster. He thought about the kind of magic that he could possibly encounter in this hell hole. Unholy magic perhaps, blood magic, who knew, but one thing he did know was that if he could add another element to his elements deck then he would be even more powerful.

He heard Marick make the comment about ghosts from the past and all he could do was laugh unitentially "Ghosts. That's rich. All my ghosts are dead and buried anymore try to come back to this world will have to meet with their end by my hands. It's not the actual dead I'm scared of. It's the undead that are moving about the hall that give me cause for concern. Stay sharp eyed and eagle visioned in here. I'm not about to lose either of you to these damned monsters who took this power to cause havoc on humanity." he looked down at the cards in his hand with a smile and saw he had fire element cards and lightning element cards. He had remembered that these two elements would be effective at harming the damned beings. He just didn't know exactly how good it would do if he couldn't see them. Unlike the vampires he didn't have any ability to see in the dark. Ryo looked to both Marick and Zenshin as he moved his back to keep it to his partners in crime "We need to keep it tight. We need to make sure that we don't get seperated. All three of us can take down enemies, but we can't take down inhuman monsters alone."
