Hostile Invasion Christmas Present - From Santa (Event, Ruvel, Void, Private) Empty Hostile Invasion Christmas Present - From Santa (Event, Ruvel, Void, Private)

Era. A large city that surrounded a mountain. A large city that was bustling with winter activity as every citizen around was preparing themselves for the Christmas season, or whatever holiday it was they preferred celebrating. Samira herself wasn't really known to partake in such things lately, and had only noticed what time of year it was because calendars were difficult to miss. The chill in the air and light snow was also a change that gave the mysterious festivities away, but that too was something to be ignored. Her reason for being in the city was not because of some wintery wonderland preparation, but to visit the large building at the very top of that domed mountain the city was built around, the Magic Council Headquarters.

No, her reason for making a stop to visit that castle-like building was not because of some urgent crisis that was plaguing the entire continent. It was a matter of a different sort, and her trips there were common enough otherwise because of it. Quite frankly, she hadn't even known the world was being invaded yet again. That sort of thing happens when a Wizard Saint disappears into some wilderness to track something down. There were calendars apparently, but no news broadcasts of current events. Her spirits probably could have informed her of it since they did have ties to the celestial world and could have obtained information that way, but that would have required them to even care enough in the first place to do so.

Her ignorance to the current invasion would not exist for long. Shortly after she made her appearance did she get the news of it and was bombarded with the details. Her true reason for being in the city would have to wait it seemed. With the new threat everything had been put on hold, and she was practically given an order to help out with dealing with the mess before it got worse. Annoying, but understandable.

"So let me get this straight... we are supposed to fight Christmas Trees?"

The question came from a key that floated in the air beside the summoner, one of many. She had them on lock down so none of the spirits could enter the normal plane of existence themselves unless they were summoned. Being a floating key was the only option left for them to interact. She would have preferred them communicating in her head as usual, but well, they often despised being restricted and would often always take the more spiteful and annoying route.

"Perhaps they are more intimidating in person," Samira replied, looking down at her iLac screen as she walked towards the building's exit. The clear image of one of the Christmas Tree terrors was displayed, having been taken during one of the invasions elsewhere in Fiore. There were also details of small elves and even polar bears. Details of another powerful being that was making its way throughout the continent also existed, but they were vague and she was given no image. Based on what information there was, it sounded ridiculous. There had to be some mistake. "We are also supposed to try a talk first method. Fighting is a last resort."

"And they decide to give us this task? We are combat spirits, not negotiators. What a bunch of moronic mortals. This is a waste of time."

"Not so. Approaching this the peaceful way does not mean it will work. It is safer to have more experienced mages in case circumstances do not allow for peaceful tactics. We may find ourselves having to fight regardless of how we approach it."

Samira put her iLac away and kept her focus ahead, although still paying attention to the hovering keys that circled her and replied. Whether she looked silly or not while talking to what should have been inanimate objects was no concern of hers. "One other thing to keep in mind is that this is the fifth invasion of its kind. Whether the current one is involved with the monster invasions from before, or from the attack a couple of months ago during the falling of the moon pollen, I do not know. The council is not taking any chances. Like before I suspect many mages from everywhere will also be doing their part. So, please stop your complaining."

"My, my, so much attitude and serious expressions during this time of year. I enjoy their take on this festive invasion, and it is almost sad to force it to end. Tsk tsk. You all lack Christmas spirit."

"Since when do any of us celebrate that? And since when does having Christmas spirit mean that we should allow a bunch of trees and elves to tear the place apart? No. You know what? Don't answer that. You're an idiot. I'm going to ignore you now." There was laughter from coming from the other key, much to the current one's annoyance. "Oi! Samira! Where are we going anyway? Not much going on in the grand city of Era. We should get moving to an area that is more in crisis or something. Or we can be lazy and stay here to pretend we're on guard duty. That works too."

"Hmmmm." Well that certainly was a good question. Samira wasn't exactly given a location to go to. They pretty much gave her the details and shoved her out the door as if they expected her to have some sort of invasion senses that would tell her each area that was currently being invaded and to visit them all. They clearly overestimated her in that area.

Unknown to her at that point was that she wouldn't be needing to go anywhere else at all. The festive holiday invaders were already plotting to make Era their next target. Also unknown at that current point was that another Wizard Saint would also be around to aid in handling the invasion. One she had not met yet and was one of the newest additions to the roster. How that would play out was anyone's guess.

Post by Ruvel 21st December 2018, 6:03 am

It had been a while since the young CEO of the West Fiore Trading company had need to enter the grand city of Era, in honesty he had only ever been here twice since he had started working for the guild. The first was with his friend Rasparov when they each had a task here, they split up so he himself had no idea what the other mage had been doing; he on the other hand wanted information on why he and Cirven were being hunted and by whom. What he found was more than want he bargained for that was for sure, he met a person who seemed to be his own age, to the life of him he couldn't remember the person's name. What he did remember was that they seemed to believe that he was trying to take the others position as Cirven's little brother when that wasn't the case, it was at this point that he found out that a piece of Cirven's history that they believed they had ended had sprouted new roots. They wanted to take Cirven back to his 'family' and take Ruvel back to his facility, something neither wanted but before anything could happen the building had caught alight due to something the other had done. Not that he was complaining, he really didn't enter looking for a fight but for information and he left with more questions than answers.

The second time was more recent when he had gained his title as a wizard saint, this was something that he wasn't overly happy about as he may as well have a target on his back for those who where currently hunting him. Luckily he had allies and summons that would help him if he was to be attacked though he worried about his company and those that worked and lived there, this would be a bridge he would have to cross if it came to such a thing so tried to push it from his mind. With a deep sigh he shook his head allowing himself to pull out of his own mind yet again. His blonde hair swaying with his heads movements, his eyes looked over the decorations as he walked down the street a small smile on his face. His hands moving forward as he watched the light snow fall, he had seen snow when he called to Seyuki to his service but this was the first time he had seen natural snow as where he was raised it was to warm for such a thing. In honesty he was feeling the cold and in a none to festive way his dual coloured eyes glowing dimly showing his sickness was flaring, his summons were worried but this was usual and showed it little concern over it that would likely change the moment they mentioned him needing his medicine.

At first glance you would think him as a lost wandering child as he looked like a toddler and many of the people around seemed confused at his presence, a young male whom was hanging some festive lights came down his step ladders and walked over to him making the youth stop in his tracks look up in curiosity. "Are you lost? Where are your parents?" the young man asked concern easily heard in his voice. Ruvel on the other hand looked confused as he had no idea what the other was saying to him, it wasn't for trying but when he was hit with the de-aging curse it also affected his speech and understanding for the Fioren language. Ruvel at current only understood the language that his true homeland spoke but this was something that he didn't know given the age he was when everything changed, luckily beside him a boy clad in white hakama, white kimono top with a hoodie top which covered his eyes stood to his side smiling "He isn't lost and his parents have passed but he is protected have no worry on that." he assured the young man whom seemed unnerved by the boys appearance and so quickly went back to what he was doing.

Ruvel turned his his gaze to look at the one at his side and seen Oykai, the twin brother to Demi whom he had paired with while he was at the facility. It wasn't an uncommon sight to see him with one of his summons by his side and it was for his protection as they had no idea how his magic would react to his fragile form right now as back when he was naturally this age he held no magic because his body just couldn't handle it. Oykai shrugged and pointed down as if to ask why he was here allowing Ruvel to point at the shops that where littered with gifts, from what he had figured present giving was part of a ritual this time of year and given he had some friends and even a girl he was somewhat smitten with he should at least try get a few things. "I swear the living are annoying and there's no point in telling you why because you just wouldn't understand now would you." he said with a somewhat frustrated voice.

Ruvel blinked silently completely baffled at what was being said to him before shrugging and walking once more, he wanted to try and enjoy himself without having a summon ruin it for him. This was until he got to the main square that was suppose to be alive with colour, music, food and carollers, the scene that he was met with was a large ice blue and white magic circle and an area that looked like a heard of animals had got loose. It was then he seen elves, Christmas trees, polar bears and what he supposed was suppose to be a jolly fat man taring down what they were meant to represent. He turned to look at Oykai wondering if he knew what the hell was going on, Oykai chuckled finding this ironic in a major way "Perhaps we should just leave them alone it make the season more interesting that's for sure." his voice sounding amused until he flinched like he had been clipped around the back of his head by some unseen force "Fine, fine... lets get them settled and home before they destroy the city." he complained his eyes looking around to see if they could at least get some help because he knew as strong as his summoner was magically he was also sick and would get a hell of a lot worse if he pushed to much and that was one scroll he didn't want to get.

Post by Samira Nassar 22nd December 2018, 1:13 pm

Well, it certainly didn't take long at all for things to get more interesting. As if on queue, there were were reports coming in and people within the building sounding the alarm. Era was now being attacked by the festive wintry invasion. That was a plus in Samira's view. She wouldn't need to leave the city at all to look for an attack that was possibly going on in some random area, and she wouldn't have to take the suggestion of lazy guard duty too seriously. She quickened her pace towards the now open exit as several Rune Knights and other people made their way in and out of the building. Once there, it was easy to look down from the top of the mountain and see the new chaos that was going on in the city below. Magic portals of various colors and power kept opening, unleashing the same type of creatures that she had been given information of. That included the one she had only heard rumor of. A big man that would pass for the famous holiday idol, Santa Claus. Well, would have passed if he didn't look completely wrong and insane. Oh boy, she really had hoped the Christmas trees would have been the weirdest enemy to face that day.

"Wow. They were really serious. Operation: Wizard Saint versus soon to be useless holiday knick knacks is a go."
"This is even more entertaining to watch than I originally imagined. Oh! Look at that one there! The trees come with presents!"
"Oooo! Do you think there's one for me?!"
"If the real gods do not completely loathe the rest of us, then yes. Please go and claim one." A response that was referring to the fact that the presents were actually more than some boxed goodies. Plenty of the city's citizens had already encountered the effects of them. They were actually more intimidating than they appeared to be on the iLac screen after all.
"Suggesting a way for one of us to get harmed is not very good teamwork. I'm disappointed in you."
"Don't start shedding your scales, Nu. I was kidding... mostly."
"I would be amused if Serqet claimed a present actually. Nonetheless, how do we approach this?"

Era was a large city. The wisest thing to do would have been to send some of her spirits to different areas of the city to cover more ground and aid more of the citizens that required it. Samira tried to get a sense of other possible mages in the area. She could feel different sources of magical energy, but her natural ability to do so was limited and to her it was hard to get an accurate estimate as it all seemed to blend together. "One moment." Just as she said that, her eyes took on a light blue coloring that also had white twinkling within them. A trait and ability that she had been able to take on from her Zodiac, the most truest celestial of her keys as far as stars and constellations went. It allowed her to see the magic energy of mages much more clearly and from what she could see there were several scattered around the city. Having to split her forces was not necessary. In fact, it was the opposite. There seemed to be absolutely no one with magical energy in the main square of the city. To make matters were, it seemed many of the holiday invaders were also collecting there, including the strange version of Santa Claus.

"We start at the Main Square and go from there."
"Aye, aye, captain." Other voices of agreement followed, and one by one each of the floating keys attached themselves back onto the keyring placed along Samira's hip. There was now a mission and plan set, but first was step one: getting off the damn mountain top. Walking would be a bit too slow and whatever way the Rune Knights used to get down there quicker was currently being used by them. It was a good thing Samira came with her own methods or it would have been quite the problem.

"Janus, portal please." At her words the portal spirit appeared in a swirl of particles and did as asked. A portal big enough for her to go through was created with its destination set near the main square. Once Samira had stepped through it, Janus and the portal he created disappeared. His current task was done and the portal no longer needed. The other side of the portal opened up just as the spirit planned it to, although its light blue coloring had it mistaken for another portal of the invaders. The citizens nearby took off, fleeing before they noticed it was the green-haired Saint that stepped through it and not one of those silly Santa Helpers. Speaking of, that happened to be the very first enemy Samira encountered before she could even analyze everything else that was going on. A snowball had been thrown her way, the somehow less than intimidating bundle of ice flakes breaking apart and scattering as it hit the barrier around her.

Samira could only blink, not so much un-phased but unsure of how to react. Others like the one that threw the snowball were around the area as well, singing songs while on their rampage of terror and destruction. She really should have been doing something but... One of them took notice of her and charged as it wielded its candy cane sword. The end result was the little guy poking at her barrier repeatedly, not really getting anywhere. Blink. Blink. In the space of her mind that her spirits stayed to watch, they couldn't resist the urge to facepalm as Samira knelt down and poked the Christmas Elf on the cheek. "They are kind of cute."

'Oh for celestial's sake! That barrier is not going to hold forever so can you stop poking the things as if they're innocent children and... oh crap we're supposed to use that talk strategy, aren't we? Nevermind, carry on.'

"Hmmmm." Samira tilted her head as she poked the elf again on the other cheek. He did not seem to be too happy about it at all and made pokes of his own with the weapon. Her barrier would end up breaking at that rate, but she had others and wasn't exactly worried about that factor. The problem was how was she supposed to do any sort of talking to get them to go home? "Excuse me, would you all mind stopping this nonsense and going home? I am pretty certain that this is not a good way to celebrate the holidays for your kind." The response she had been given was another bombardment of snowballs from the other small elves around. Even the one in front of her declined to listen to that suggestion. It would seem simply talking was not going to get the job done as easily as she would have liked. Even worse, during her request she had mentally summoned Cernunnos, a summon that took the form of a satyr. Taking the peaceful approach was nothing new to her, at least the forceful kind. As soon as he had been summoned, flowers that had a powerful sleeping mist instantly grew around her and the elves, but the effect she desired did not work. The Santa Helpers, with their normally cheery and hyper disposition, must have been heavily resistant to such a thing.

Samira stood up fully, her protective barrier popping just before that. Now she would have to get a bit more serious against the cuties. They were going to be sent home by force now. All it took was beating a bit of sense into them and then tossing them back through one of their portals. Perhaps even healing them a bit before that if they learned their lesson. She had no intentions on killing them or being completely brutal. They weren't common monsters, after all. Because of this, she wouldn't go all out just yet, if at all. Another type of barrier surrounded Samira to replace the one she had lost. As the first elf went for the candy cane sword attack and met the barrier, a backlash of magic energy erupted from the barrier and sent that one, and the others nearby, flying. That drew a lot of attention to reveal even more of the elves. Around fifteen if she had to guess. She let out a sigh. "Cernunnos, please get started on rounding them all up."

The satyr nodded and took off after the first set. Three more spirits were also called upon to help with the task. Athena to set up proper defenses around the citizens that could not escape, Susano, and Kukulkan to help with rounding them all up and shove them back through the portals once they couldn't resist. The latter Samira almost regretted even summoning as the serpent went after the elves in a manner that was treating everything in the way as if it were a bowling pin. "I feel as if I have to emphasize this. Do NOT eat them."

The christmas elf roundup was going... interesting. Despite their appearance they were actually strong as a large group. Unfortunately for them they were not dealing with spirits of completely low ranking and by themselves they were not exactly difficult to knock out. Very few hits to each were required, and each summon was capable of doing just that easily enough. Even Samira's disciplinary slaps were enough. "I think we missed a couple of them over there!" The swordsman spirit took notice of the small blonde toddler and the other boy near him. He was wrong to assume they were another batch of Christmas Elves, but he right in pointing them out. Samira looked over to where he was talking about and her green eyes widened. The other boy she was uncertain of. She didn't get a sense of it being human, but as for the smaller one she really considered him as a wandering helpless toddler. Samira might have been able to conclude that he wasn't some lost kid in the middle of a Christmas chaos if she had taken the wizard saint photo and information seriously. She had just thought it was a joke or was a severely out of date photo. Not to mention she would not have been able to grasp that the West Fiore Trading Company was run by someone in the form of a child. Well, perhaps she would learn soon enough. "That is not one of them. That is a child! Get over there and get him out of the way!" What was she doing that prevented her from getting her summoner butt over there instead? Well, she had her hands full with a few polar bears and was now being blocked by them. She could only hope the kid didn't get surrounded by the rest to become a meal. Even worse if he met up with the roaming trees and Santa Claus.

Hostile Invasion Christmas Present - From Santa (Event, Ruvel, Void, Private) Empty Re: Hostile Invasion Christmas Present - From Santa (Event, Ruvel, Void, Private)

Post by Ruvel 23rd December 2018, 8:22 am

Ruvel continued standing still and silent watching the chaos that was going on within the central city square, he was of course concerned about the goings on but at the same time he had no clue what the hell was happening or if they normally worked like this. He looked up to Oykai with a puzzled look and pointed into the square as if asking a question, the reaper pushed his hood back just enough so the smaller one could see his soul filled eyes slightly and shook his head pointing over to one of the many smashed windows. The scene within the window showed a jolly fat man in red and white suit placing down brightly coloured parcels with bows, Elves dressed in green white with some red handing out candy canes and other treats; even the Christmas trees looked happy decorated in brightly coloured tinsel and baubles with some of the presents santa was giving out. The polar bears in the scene looked kind of stupid in their cartooned form because even Ruvel who had never seen these creatures up close knew bears didn't smile or eat ice-cream like they were in the scene, they would maul you if you got to close but the rest of it made some sort of sense he guessed. Now he had to figure out just what caused their photo negative selves to invade, then again it also made him wonder if this was happening in more than one place.

His train of thought was wrecked however as he heard voices and additional commotion that hadn't been there before, his eyes drawn to the beautiful elder woman that had seemingly entered the square and knelt down to poke one of the elves in the cheeks, he could hear she was saying something but with all the noise the actual words where drowned out. He looked back at to Oykai who face palmed "I feel sorry for her spirits..." he commented under his breath "I swear we should just kill everyone breathing and get the annoyance out of the way." for this comment it earned him another unseen swat upside the head "Demiari, keep doing that and I swear on father yo..." he paused mid sentence, Ruvel could hear his summons chuckling in his head and realised that something must have been said between the two on another channel he wasn't privy to that amused them. He hated when they done such things but it wasn't exactly like he could stop it from happening now was it, the contracts were firmly in his summons favour and the conditions set in stone so longs they protected him they could do as they wish. He on the other hand had so many conditions he could barely keep up at times.

The youth notice that one of the not so happy trees had now spotted him causing Oykai to instantly pull the smaller male behind him, what the summon wasn't expecting was for his summoner to kick him in the shin that got him glared at making him flinch because the glare seemed like it was from death itself. The glare stopped as a portal of fire appeared beside him and he realised why the hit was given, Ordhabbi had a morbid sense of humour that Ruvel would either have to harm himself or an ally to summon her. The death god just wished he would have been given a little heads up but then he had no idea if he would have allowed the hit to go through, due to the contract in place he could stop the hit he just couldn't hit back because it would break the contract and his own family would be pissed off at him; that was something that he could do without. From the portal a slender woman walks out, her eyes and hair were golden in colour and almost move like flames, her skin looked sun kissed and she almost look like an Arabian dancer by her outfit dressed in purples and golds. "Really? Why am I the one being bothered?" she asked looking at Oykai knowing that her summoner couldn't understand her let alone answer the question "Well if you look to your left you'll see an angry moving tree, it was either you, Delia or Bennu and I am not going to even attempt saying those words... I have no damn idea how he manages it in the first place when it comes to Bennu and as for that fire crazed fairy yeah.. let's not. Now do your damn job and get rid of the tree." he said looking down at where he felt a jabbing motion "For death's sake. Really? A midget with a shiv made of candy cane?" he complained just kicking the elf back and into a polar bear "Oh that was smart death for brains." Ordhabbi said face palming dashing towards the christmas tree jumping onto the polar bear and into the branches.

As the fire summon disappeared a fire burst happened, hitting everything within thirty meters setting them alight and melting any snow preventing the snowball onslaught that was happen. The only thing was that the things caught on fire now where running around in a state of panic making the death god laugh in amusement "You're right, they do need to be stopped because this is amusing as all hell." he said before dashing forward leaving the young Ruvel by himself, his natural glow that had been shrouded by Oykai now showing. Oykai himself condensed the souls at his feet leaving a purple stream behind of him as he quickly shot between enemies hitting them twice each his hand going forward as he got to the irritated polar bear from before he moved forward releasing several wailing souls making everything within the vicinity stop in fear, a grin appearing on his hooded face the souls hitting the frozen polar bear head on "Just me or does it smell like pork around here?" the fire summon asked from the tree. "Well we could have a bbq but that might be frowned upon given these people are suppose to give holiday cheer, besides I think it'll taste nasty given what is being cooked." the death summon shrugged, his eyes going to one of the other summoners summon he noticed heading towards Ruvel "Do me a favour and leave him be, he's fine honestly." he explained without getting into to much detail.

Ruvel watched on without taking a single step forward, he had no need to at the moment but he had noticed that there were now reinforcements from a single unit of rune knights whom seemingly had been taken a back at what was going on. The had no idea if they should try and help given the situation seemed like it was well in hand from the wizard saint of Humility and what they believed a few other mages due to the fact they couldn't see any energy coming from the toddler watching on with what appeared curiosity. A few where about to rush towards Ruvel but before they could Oykai would be standing in front of them, the purple trail he left behind easily seen to be souls "His safety is my responsibility, don't interfere with my duties and I won't interfere in yours. Now with that being said will you please help by throwing the munchkins back through the portal before they get to badly harmed." he said calmly his tone however was serious and somewhat dark making the Rune Knights he was talking to nod and back away feeling at ill ease to do the task that was requested of them. "Damn mortals are almost annoying as the divine..." he cussed moving back to where he had been before allowing him to see the entire area allowing him move and attack as needed.

"Mmmm... these little creatures seem to be in pain, being corrupted in such a delicious way. Should I get involved? Mmm..."

It had been a long time since she traveled into Fiore proper, this woman who only barely tolerated humanity. A Goddess both remembered and forgotten to the pressure of time walked the earth once more for what reason other than boredom? Well, there wasn't really any. Having so much time to herself was much more a curse than a blessing. She had no goals worthy of note, her interests were few and far between. No hobbies to speak of. Simply put, she had no reason to worry about pursuing anything because anything she could have wanted to do, she could just do it later. However today something sparked her interest, if only temporarily. Little gnome-looking things carrying near-harmless little weapons coming out of portals from all over the country of Fiore were causing trouble for humans. The thought alone made Void giggle. Moments later, Void turned to the five little things who made their appearance in front of her and spoke once more, though this time her face was far more cold and expressionless.

"Now, before I end your pain, tell me whom or what turned you all into this."

"Santa Claus... he... he changed first. The world dying with all the evil corroding it made him believe... that someone had to take drastic action. Then this happened to us... please, do something."

"Mmm, I see. Well, others are bound to get around to the root sooner than myself at this point. The least I can do, however, is put you things out of your misery. You will no longer suffer because of this man."

Amaterasu closed her eyes and sighed, the ancient weapon in her left hand beginning to glow black. Kusanagi, the blade gifted to her by one of her brothers, Susano'o, already knew what was to be done. The woman gracefully moved her right hand to the handle of her companion and gripped it tenderly as though it were a child. Even with her eyelids shut tightly, she could see the five creatures standing still in front of her resigned to their fate. Deep down, they must have realized what the woman was. After all, the presence she gave off was neither a human's nor a beast's, nor a hybrid's. In single straight lines each, she swung the blade through each gnome several times; the blade itself could not be seen by the naked eye and only the smell of blood permeated the surrounding area. A mere second passed by the time Amaterasu was finished. Gently returning Kusanagi to its sheath, the little men fell to the ground one by one. They were already dead while standing; she kept her promise.

"Joōheika, where shall we head next? If I remember correctly, the capital city is nearby."

"You mean to say that we are likely to encounter more of these poor creatures in that more vastly populated place, yes Kusanagi?"

"Correct. I suggest that you don your mask before we enter, to keep your omnipotence hidden from mortality. Nothing good can come from humans knowing there is a Goddess among them."

The woman only nodded slightly. In her right hand, a ball of black flame transformed into the shape of her beloved mask which she had kept since her fall. It was a birth gift from her mother, Izanami, before the incident. One of few items she genuinely cherished and guarded fervently. She then placed it on her face; the outer edges molded into her skin, preventing it from coming off due to movement. Ready to set forth, the Goddess held out Kusanagi in front of her and allowed him to guide her swiftly to Era, the Magic capital of Fiore. Her feet lifted off of the grass and then the weapon quite literally pulled her toward the destination.

A handful of minutes passed by the time she could see the city in the distance. Even from this far away, she could tell that a lot was happening, in terms of spacial distortions and in particular there was one very large presence, as well as one that was not human within that city. The non-human however could not be discerned, which meant they must have had some sort of quirk to hide their magic signature. There was also another relatively large presence and it was very apparent this one was corrupted just like those little men. Interesting that it had not been dealt with yet, considering how many mages were available in that place. Amaterasu could tell more clearly as she moved closer and closer to the outer wall. Kusanagi stopped abruptly, Void gliding fluidly to the ground with weapon still in hand.

"It seems we have another portal to contend with before we can head into the city. I will keep this short. You will all burn to ashes."

Ohirume then set her blade standing straight up; ethernano quickly gathered into it and surrounding the sheath was a rich black flame that slowly destroyed the soil and grass beneath. It was moments later that five more gnomes came out of the portal and behind them two very big polar bears whom bore the same type of corruption. Those poor things. She could see the pain in their eyes. Unfortunately, emotion was not something that drove Void to action. Every action taken was cold, unrelenting, methodical. That ability now being finished, the woman picked her weapon back up and left a substitute in its place. Right hand once more resting on that naturally warm handle, she stood in front of this group of things beyond recovery and closed her eyes. Her breathing stopped this time. Every bit of her completely stopped. Enemies came into view within her mind and, without thinking, she instantly moved through the gnomes first since she was certain of their durability. Kusanagi ripped through them all like butter; afterward she was back in her original position, blade returning to sheath. Thanks to the travel time toward the city, her stamina was able to make a recovery so she was not tired at this time. Falling to the mortal realm meant losing most of her original strength, which meant these sorts of occurrences were more taxing than they should have been.

"Now... what about these two beasts, Kusanagi? I believe it would conserve energy to go for their legs first and then remo- Ah. I just remembered the ability I prepared. It has been charging several hits now. If you slice into their legs, that will finish them instantly."

"Hmph. Are you so bored, you nearly forgot the spell you prepared just for this? Some things never change, it seems."

As it spoke into Void's mind, the weapon removed itself from its sheath and darted swiftly at the bears just ahead. As beasts, they were much faster and sturdier than the gnomes, so it made more sense to have Kusanagi move on his own since he was much faster that way. A few hits to each of their legs was enough to bring them down and prevent them from moving about, proof that they really were much tougher. As the blade returned, Amaterasu spoke in her mind, 'Burn,' which released the ability and almost immediately vaporized everything in a fifty-meter radius around the substitute, including the heavily wounded bears and the corpses of gnomes. The plant life in the area was reduced to black ash and the soil was charred, but it would all eventually recover with time. The woman sighed then and shook her head.

"This day is proof that no matter how pure a human may be in their beginnings, they will always inevitably fall to corruption if the right reason presents itself. Lets head into the city. We will be able to end this sooner if we meet with that large presence deeper in the city."

    "As you wish, Joōheika."

Hostile Invasion Christmas Present - From Santa (Event, Ruvel, Void, Private) Empty Re: Hostile Invasion Christmas Present - From Santa (Event, Ruvel, Void, Private)

Post by Samira Nassar 27th December 2018, 12:05 am

The spirit clone of Susano could only sigh in regards to his most unfortunate life. "First I am reduced to fighting candyland munchkins, and now babysitting. I need to revise my contract." He would have to save his complaints for later though. Ignoring Samira was nothing new, but as usual he would have to face what came after as a result of it. Either the look of disapproval, complete silent treatment, or worse... forcing him to spend the day with one of the more annoying spirits that should have been sent into the spirit recycle bin upon creation. That last thought was absolutely cringing, and was what motivated him to actually get moving towards the calmest child that was smack in the middle of disaster he had ever seen. Didn't they usually stand there and cry? Or run? Or something? The crazy Christmas parade was one thing, but now things were on fire near there! Which... was strange. Who the hell was using fire? No matter, on the way he smacked another elf on the head with the blunt side of his blade and threw the unconscious body towards Cernunnos, who caught it and looked at the swordsman with an annoyed look. "Take care of that. Pretend I asked nicely."

He quickened his pace soon after, but as he drew closer and got a better look at what was going on, Susano slowed down. Some dancer looking spirit that looked a bit similar to Pele was up in one of the living trees, presumably the one responsible for the oversized flaming and flailing living holiday ornaments. His gut told him that was a summon rather than a mage. The only issue was he didn't see or feel any kind of magical presence that belonged to another summoner other than his own, and that chick was not part of the Samira club. The other one that gave him the same vibe as the spirit Hades also spoke, saying to leave the child be. The child that he now noticed was glowing like some human shaped light bulb. Susano opened his mouth to say something, then he immediately closed it a second later. He could put two and two together. Sort of. Those two must have been the summons and the kid... the summoner? With absolutely no magical signature? He scratched the back of his head, contemplating. Samira was a summoner as a kid too, but not that young, and it took her ages to even form the ability to hide her signature. That kid was not normal by any means. "Nope. Too much weirdness in one day for me." Susano retreated from that position to head back towards Samira. Child rescue mission had been completed! Despite what he said though, his real reason for ditching was because he could respect the words of the death summon. It was their summoner, not his own, and he himself would probably take offense if some random spirit came wandering in to save the day when it came to his own summoner.

On his way back he noticed a portal opening up above the square, not from one of the invaders, but from Samira. "Aw, hell." The Gate of the Avatar. That damn thing was going to stay up for a while, and because of that every single spirit Samira owned would be able to come through in short bursts repeatedly. As if the place needed to be even more crowded. One by one, different spirits appeared and attacked nearby enemies around the portal before disappearing. Mainly polar bears by this point in time, but there was one other tree going through town as if it owned the place that he could see. How long before the real big guy got in the way was anyone's guess. The rest of the minor crap needed to be dealt with quickly, which should have been easy, but Samira was holding back. Using the avatar gate instead of the upgraded version was proof of that.

"So this is what a Christmas party is like! Wrong choice of music though." Yes, the screams and yells of things on fire and fleeing citizens was not really in the spirit of the holidays.

Susano skidded to a stop upon hearing that voice, and turned his head to see another one of Samira's spirits. Apollo, although the music variation instead of the sun. "What the hell are you doing here?! The gate is for combat spirits only!"

Apollo whistled, keeping a cool and calm face despite the swordsman looking as if he were about to throw him through one of the winter portals. "Relax. I only came to see the party. A good thing I did. The background music needs a major adjustment."

    "Don't you da-"
"Too late!" Apollo snapped his fingers and his version of a Chrstimas playlist began to magically play in the background all throughout the city. "There we go! Beautiful! Thank me later by getting me one of those presents from the tree! Have fun, bye! " In a poof of swirling orange particles the music spirit that probably just made his death wish was gone. What was the first song choice? an annoying one that made everyone on Team Samira cringe upon hearing its first line. But with plenty of things on fire and going crazy it was appropriate in Apollo's opinion.

By the time it got to the next song on the playlist even Samira had to comment. "This music... is terrible and distracting." During most of this she had been dealing with three polar bears, dodging their attempts to maul and swipe. They too were kind of cute, but she was not about to poke them like she did the elves. She was having to use and refresh her barriers as it was, especially when the music started and removed her focus, and then the three polar bears turned into six. Was she in trouble? Not really. Like her spirit earlier assumed, she was indeed holding back a great deal, mainly because anything she used was likely to either kill the bears or do serious damage to the city. She decided to finally risk using something though, and a blast of energy released from her and hit the bears that were in mid-attack around her. Their bodies shifted, becoming transparent and still, having been partially banished temporarily into the celestial realm. They were alive at least and with that Samira could feel relief. That spell was weak enough that it didn't destroy them.

"Yo!" The first spirit said as he hit each bear and knocked it away from his summoner. "I'm back."

"Oh, thank good-" Samira stopped as she looked down, having been expecting the blonde child to be there and safe but instead saw nothing. "Where is..." Her confused expression turned to one of anger when she looked over and still saw the kid was all the way over there and not right there. Her glare turned back onto the spirit. "You left him?!"
Susano shrugged. "Well yeah. That one over there told me to." He pointed over towards the summon that had been with the strange boy from the start. "The kid also glows. Pretty sure normal kids don't do that."
"I cannot believe you are using being told to as an excuse."

At that point the partial banishment was wearing off from the polar bears and they were able to move again. Slowly at first. One came towards the spirit, but he just nonchalantly hit the bear in the face with the blunt end of his sword as it approached. Really he barely even noticed it was there and did it on instinct. The conversation was taking a bit of a priority on focus. "Have you ever been alone in a room with Hades? I was getting the same vibes, only worse. I was not about to mess with that. I don't get paid enough."

"You do not get paid at all!" Samira did the same as Susano. A bear approached from behind and was smacked by the back of her hand, although that time being more magically enhanced since it was a melee type of spell instead of a normal slap. That sent the bear flying to land on a group of Rune Knights. They were surprised by the flying bear, but nonetheless recovered enough to deal blows of their own to render it unconscious.

"Exactly! This job sucks. Can't even give me a crossword puzzle book." Another hit on another approaching bear.

"Maybe I would get you something if you actually did what I told you to do instead of arguing with me." A spear made of ice formed within Samira's hand as she spoke. A simple weapon with a simple design to freeze enemies. The type of enemies they were dealing with may have been from a wintry wonderland, but they should still be capable of being frozen. Her subconscious was choosing that re-quip weapon for that purpose, but Samira's frontal mind didn't quite pick up on it yet. Instead the weapon was used in much the same way as Susano was using his sword. A couple of strikes were made against an approaching bear as Samira moved to the side to dodge its move. Her attention was still mainly on the spirit, however.

"Maybe if you were smarter I wouldn't have to argue."

The back and forth statements and strikes against the unfortunate polar bears that got in the way of the argument continued for a few moments longer. It really wasn't anything new for Samira and that particular spirit to argue, but still the scenario made the satyr spirit shake his head, and the winged serpent one get pissed off. Not that the winged serpent desired to do anything about it just yet. She mainly wanted everything over and done with so she could go home and eat that damn music spirit for that horrible background music. For now, she stuck with guarding the defensive dome Athena had created to keep some random civilians protected.

The arguing between the two stopped though when an elf on fire came running between them and dove into a patch of snow. Both of them looked at it and blinked. Then their stares went back to each other, although Samira's more of a glare. "Oi, don't look at me. I am not a fire spirit."

Samira could only sigh at that and let her annoyance and anger fade away. For the most part. "Point taken. Just help me clear out the rest of these bears so we can move on, please."

"Whoa! Samira said 'please' to me when making a request. This must be my Christmas gift."

    "Spare me the sarcasm."

When the two went back to focusing on the bears they came to realize the ones near them were already out for the count. Their response was a simple "oh..." There was still plenty to do though, especially given one thing they had not realized yet. There was still another person making their way into the city. One that had already killed some of the holiday invaders instead of subduing them. Would she make her presence known or would she continue to remain afar? Find out in the next two posts!

Hostile Invasion Christmas Present - From Santa (Event, Ruvel, Void, Private) Empty Re: Hostile Invasion Christmas Present - From Santa (Event, Ruvel, Void, Private)

Post by Ruvel 27th December 2018, 2:32 pm

Ruvel's dual coloured eyes went towards the sword man that seemed to be heading his direction unsure what the hell was going on, he could tell that he was a spirit but not a muse so that would mean likely the woman whom seemed silly enough to poke the enemy in the cheek was a celestial summoner. His instincts had been to step away from the other but given his small legs compared to a fully grown adults, yeah that would be like trying to run from Barthenz and that had never worked out well for him in the past so remained still. He watched the small conversation he seemed to have one of his own allies before he got to Oykai and even then from what he remembered about Oykai it was likely him just telling the other to back off, for a person who had this disdain for anything living it was he who had approached Ruvel for a contract not the other way around. This had confused the youth as the only four other summons he had at his disposal had done such a thing, he of course had asked why and quickly backed down due to a death stare. The conditions had been made and before he had even agreed the contract was in place forced by Oykai himself, he guessed there had been reasons for it but unlike himself his summons didn't have to share everything with him. It of course bothered him but it was what it was and there was no changing it, he needed them more than they needed him so didn't argue about such matters.

As Ruvel had been distracted with that was going on with Oykai and Susanoo he hadn't realised that a present had been launched towards him, well that was until the very last second his hand instinctual going to his necklace as it activated a shimmering twinkling shield that took the hit of the blast but still sent the small youth flying back a few meters into a snow bank. "Death for brains! The squirt!" she called out another pulse of flames being sent out setting people who had just got the flames out back on fire. Oykai looked back to the fire summon as he was called kicking an elf into a near by trashcan "In case your blind I'm a little busy here embers for skill! Go get him!" he said dodging as a polar bear attacked him his hand releasing more souls towards it, he could see the fur that had been burned off and smell the singing of it. To the death god it smelt nasty and so ran towards one of the smashed windows close by the bear keeping chase, that didn't prevent the death god getting through the curtain only to come back a few seconds later with what seemed to be a container in his hand and started press the button on the top. It seemed he had picked up an air freshener and had sprayed it right into the polar bears eyes "This actually smells quite nice, need to get him to grab some." the summon said to himself as he gave it one last kick finally knocking it out and jumping out of the window moving quickly back to the centre of the area only to hear some gods awful music.

His eyes looked to the other summons and their summoner seeing them arguing and sighed shaking his head "Hay!" he called out showing he was getting ticked off with the goings on "Did you put on this poor excuse for music? Because you need to be jailed if that's the case!" he continued to complain none to happy about what was going on and for once wished that Ruvel would actually call the teapot dwelling lizard to shut down the noise. He looked up however as he seen that the area had gotten a blood red glow and seemed somewhat put off, he had been warned by is twin what this meant and so looked at Ruvel who had crawled back to where he had originally been standing. his body glowing carmine, he watched as his hands came together as if he was about to pray entombing himself in light as his eyes closed as he started to draw energy into it "Demari! You never warned me about this!" he growled noticing just how big this was, it was clear that he wanted to get this over and done with but it would be dangerous to allies. The death summon ran towards the other summoner kicking elves back against each other as he got there he looked to the summoner "Hi there, I'm someone you don't need to the name of..." he said before pointing at the glowing tomb "so in the next ten minutes perhaps less that is going to shatter and send pretty light shards everywhere, this will do a lot of harm." he said calmly "It'll be one hell of a light show that's for sure, also do you know what this stuff is called I want to take it home?" He asked holding up the air freshener can of warm winter spice before kicking an elf back through the portal.

The fire summon had remained in the tree looking out making sure that others wouldn't be in danger, well more to the case that she didn't want anyone getting involved the last thing any of them needed was for civilians to be hurt. It was then she noticed a masked figure, she thought perhaps female coming towards the scene and shrugged, it was her own funeral if she wanted to get involved in the chaos that was going on. "I'm not gonna stop that happening... not my job" she said to herself as she watched a present be shot back at Samira and Oykai "In coming" she called out, boredom heard in her voice. Oykai had been pointing to the carmine red glow in the area "This strengthen's magic, melee and speed." he was explaining as he heard the other call, and the present that was coming quickly towards them he really just wanted this to be over and done with but it seemed never ending.

As Amaterasu walked through the large gateway into Era, she began to ponder a certain thought: why was it that she so often killed humans and not any other living being? It was an idea which popped up at the most awkward times such as this one but it was worth noting. At one point, the woman did not even bother to answer that question. The best phrase used to describe Void was 'true nihilist' meaning that existence was meaningless, humanity mattered little to not at all, and to her the only thing which did matter was her impulse to destroy. For the most part that has not changed. In recent decades however, that belief has deviated slightly to not being so pessimistic. It was far more strange that the Goddess of the Sun would feel so negatively toward humans, who often so fervently prayed for hope. Void changed drastically the very moment those Gods cast her from the heavens for a crime she did not commit of her own free will. Perhaps in a way, she regained a small amount of that benevolent nature due to the occasional human who exceeded her cold expectations.

To answer that question specifically though, she killed humans because she believed the only way to have a full restart was to wipe out everything and literally start over from the beginning. Now the belief deviated into something more along the lines of, 'those corrupted Gods are the reason humans are corrupt; they are the ones who must be swept away.' Then there was also the fact that she regained Kusanagi who had been sealed far away from her previously. Having a second mind to bounce off of maybe allowed her the opportunity to create other options. Those were all conjectures and, for someone like Amaterasu, conjectures meant little to nothing at all.

Really the only reason Void conjured up the interest in such thoughts was because she was bored. Her weapon was annoyed at the change in her willingness to care about anything mainly because what he was accustomed to of his Goddess was the polar opposite of what she was currently. Dearly loved by her mother and father, her two brothers, and all of her children, she in turn loved them as well as the universe in which they all worked to create. The woman's first three incarnations were perfectly bright and warm. Because of everything that happened in her fourth incarnation, Kusanagi burned with rage at those who ruined his master's life. They together hated those Gods and sought to tear them down. Despite that, though, he still wished Amaterasu would even just a little return to that unyielding brightness.

"It seems we're getting quite a bit of attention today by these corrupted creatures. What do you think, Kusanagi?"

Her thoughts turned away for a brief discussion about the current situation. While deep in thought, she happened to get surrounded.

"Joōheika, while you were brooding, these things had plenty of time to get in a beneficial position around you. As for why there are so many, that seems to be due to the two large presences in the city that you caught onto earlier."

"Ah. So then, what shall I do? You told me it was best to prevent the drawing of attention to myself."

"As much as you may hate to do it, you will have to return them through the portals and immobilize the larger bears."

"Mmm... alright then. In that case it may be best to use my left hand. Subdue the bears while I take care of the little gnomes."

    "Yes, my Queen."

Amaterasu gripped only the sheath as Kusanagi pulled himself out and darted away at the bears who were faster than before, most likely because those last ones were unprepared. The claws clashed with her weapon's blade, which created a symphony of various tones on top of layers of undertones every time. There were three bears in total this time so it was going to take a bit longer than last time especially since they were not aiming to kill. Meanwhile, Void dropped the sheath which forced the concrete to give way and it left a gigantic crack twenty meters in length. With that much force even that cover would have been enough to crush the gnomes' skulls easily so it was veritably unusable. With her companion nearby, the Goddess could still utilize her magic in a limited fashion to push them all back into their portals. Keeping her power restrained on top of the mask she wore preventing her identity from leaking out, both of her hands glowed black and then the rest of her body began to glow in the same way. Even with this small display, the gnomes could tell she was not of this world but they held firmly to their positions. Eventually though, one after the next charged at her expecting to get a hit or two in on that divine body. Unfortunately, the woman still had her speed. The technique she normally used with Kusanagi now became a temporary technique used with her entire body. To the little men and women, Amaterasu merely vanished and reappeared second after second but the reality was that every time she vanished, one gnome was hit several times. It all happened so quickly in fact that, by the time the last gnome realized what was happening, all of them at once flew back into the portals they came out from as soon as the woman released the built-up ethernano from her body. Unfortunately, with the little power she had regained, Void was still unable to do more than this without her weapon in hand.

Just as she had finished with those little ones, she watched Kusanagi have his fun with the remaining two polar bears who were still quite spry.

"Mmm... would you like some help, my dear Kusanagi? Seems you're having a little bit of trouble."

"My Queen, please don't patronize me. I am not so weak that I need help with these mortal realm animals."

Slightly amused, Amaterasu grinned at the fact that she got her companion flustered. The woman then walked over to the bear that was incapacitated and lifted it up effortlessly with one hand; she then threw it into a nearby portal where it would not be returning. These portals seemed to only allow those corrupted things to travel to this land once. That made the scenario easier to deal with, especially for the humans of this country. Another finally fell, though it was still wriggling around on the floor attempting to continue its tussle. Void knocked it right on top of the head and instantly knocked it out before tossing the beast into the portal as well. Being tired of waiting, the woman took direct control of Kusanagi and aimed more directly at its legs. Her way of fighting was far more honor-less and straightforward in that she did not take her time enjoying the combat. Kusanagi sighed and just allowed it to happen; several slashes to its four legs later, the mammal fell to the floor and it too was thrown in the portal which then collapsed on itself and disappeared.

After walking over to grab the sheath from its concrete tomb of sorts and placing her weapon within it, Void noticed someone up ahead. To be precise, it was not human. Rather it was some type of fire spirit, though the Goddess did not care enough to analyze the thing further. However, there was a lot of commotion up that way so perhaps those beacons she felt earlier were in that area. She was not wrong. There were definitely two huge presences up ahead: one was definitely human while the other was definitely not, though she could not determine more than that on the latter. However... there was another presence she just started to pick out under the mesh of energies.

    "SUSANO'OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

The woman instantly broke out into a cry and screamed the name of one of her younger brothers. She could recognize that signature absolutely anywhere.

    "My Queen, you mustn-"

    "SUSANO'OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! MY BELOVED BROTHER!"

The woman's voice rang out through the city, causing the buildings to shudder. Her tears streamed down the mask and left a puddle on the ground just in front of her. In the back of the Goddess's mind, she knew it was not entirely him but... it was definitely him. One of the brothers who too was banished to the mortal realm, though that happened before she was. All that was in her mind now was this: she wanted to see him. She had to see him. Her flesh and blood. He was still alive. She was glad. For the first time in thousands of years, she had a smile on her face. The clouds in the sky dispersed and the Sun's rays became blindingly bright, yet gentle like a mother's embrace. Amaterasu could no longer be stopped. She walked steadily toward where her brother was, despite the chaos going on around her at that very moment. All that mattered now... was embracing her brother for the first time in... far too long.

    "I'm coming, my brother! SUSANO'O!"

Hostile Invasion Christmas Present - From Santa (Event, Ruvel, Void, Private) Empty Re: Hostile Invasion Christmas Present - From Santa (Event, Ruvel, Void, Private)

Post by Samira Nassar 5th January 2019, 1:57 pm

During their argument, the area had obtained a red glow that had not been present before. A few moments after that and wondering what the hell that even was, the summon that had originally been with the blonde toddler came running over. The two had not really heard him shouting at them earlier due to their arguing, and the music he had complained about had been tuned out as well. Although they would have agreed with it being a crime to play such horrendous audio. For now though, they could only pay attention to what he was currently saying. Well Susano anyway. He had paid attention to the warning about the incoming lethal light show, and the fact he had not properly introduced himself. Samira was a different story.

She heard the words but could only slowly blink as a response while her gaze and thoughts drifted to the air freshener can the mysterious summon held. An unusual weapon choice was her first thought. Then he asked what it was because he wanted to take it home. It. Was. Adorable. Such a summon of adorable ignorance needed to be poked just as the elf earlier was. She was about to do just that when the spirit beside her slapped her hand away as she prepared to reach out for the poke. "Don't do that. He's not cute." As true as his opinion was to him, he really just didn't feel like fighting that creepy summon if he took offense to being poked like some small child or animal. "I think he is." Samira replied as she pulled back her slapped hand and rubbed it with the other. Even with the physical hit she didn't seem at all angry by it. There wasn't even any pain really. "In any case that is a can of air freshener. It makes the air smell nice. You will find it useless at present, however. Unless everything here is allergic to its chemicals or dislikes the smell of... " Samira paused to try and read the fragrance label. "Winter Spice. Huh, that does sound like a good choice of air freshener. Were there any other choices? I think I will take some home with me as well."

Susano nearly faceplanted into the ground in reaction to the stupidity of the conversation that was being had in the middle of a battle field! "Did you forget about the unplanned town square event that is going on?! This isn't really the time to give the 411 on air freshener or to discuss shopping for more!"
"He asked a question. It would be rude to ignore it."
"Oh. Well I'll be sure to tell the big guy when he gets here to hold off a bit so that deathy here can become the expert on air freshener and potpourri."
"That would be good. Thank you for taking the initiative."

At that moment Susano couldn't tell if Samira was serious or being sarcastic. An odd thing considering he was connected to her thoughts but he was starting to get the suspicion that he was bring blocked out just so he could be confused on how serious that statement was. His eyebrow twitched and he was left having to fume silently. What a day. "Hm?" The irritation he felt disappeared, his focus and thoughts going elsewhere. He was sensing something. He couldn't place what or who it was at that moment. Whatever it was didn't feel dangerous, at least to him, but it was... strange. At that point that was the only word he could think of to describe it. Not much time was given for him to think more about it or even go check it out.

As the more of the red glow's effects were being explained, there was a shout of "incoming" and as both summoner and spirit looked over in that direction, a beautifully wrapped present with sparkling glitter effects came towards them. Just as it reached them, the gift popped open, releasing pretty sparkles and jingle bell sound effects. None were really harmed with that attack, but there was a side effect they both noticed immediately; they could not move. Well, that was rather inconvenient. The only upside was that they could still blame each other through their telepathic connection. Yet, there had to be another downside to being unable to move in such a scenario, such as being easy targets. The second Christmas tree that had been making its way around finally made its over to the fun area.

It passed by the pink colored barrier dome that was being used to protect civilians until they could be escorted out, as well as the serpent and guardian spirit that were near it. Instead the living decoration focused on tossing its shiny ornaments at various Rune Knights that were helping with the escort process. That is, until it saw the stationary summoner and two summons. Rather than a sparkly bauble though, the tree tossed another present. The gift was larger than the last one and landed right in front of the trio. For a moment it did nothing and looked harmless, and the effect within it technically was. Technically.

The gift popped open in a brilliant flash of light, glitter, and ribbons. When it faded it was revealed that the clothes of those nearby had disappeared. The gift wrapped itself back up and poofed from existence in a puff of smoke, taking the clothes with it to give to someone else for the holidays because it's obvious clothes are the best gift ever. It was kind enough to leave them small steamy clouds to cover up the naughty bits of the now naked Samira and Susano though, and Oykai as well if he were affected. Even a Christmas tree valued a PG-13 rating and applied censors. Thankfully. That still did not sit well for the un-moving Samira, however. Susano really didn't care and remained expressionless. Samira, on the other hand, turned red and it wasn't because she was getting cold from her lack of clothes in the chilly air. The Saint of Humility was now streaking in public, and in Era no less. Such modesty! This may have warranted a fine if the Rune Knights that were close by and unaffected by the present's effects weren't in the middle of fainting from the nosebleeds, or busy staring. Some uncomfortably and others a bit too perverted-like.

Kukulkan, the winged serpent, snickered, somehow being capable of such a thing. That was a hilarious effect for a present to have, but the humor of her summoner's plight could only last for so long. There was still the matter of that kid's light move that was supposed to be dangerous once it went off, and the magical presence of Santa Claus was also increasing and getting nearer. The time for staring at naked people was over. The serpent left her post by the protective barrier dome and used her tail to wrap around the second Christmas Tree's trunk near the bottom. Then she yanked it backwards and up, only to slam it down on the ground a few times. As tall as the tree was, it wasn't really much of a match for the much longer and stronger serpent. The tree slapped her with some of its tinsel and tried to free itself, but after a few more ground slams it stopped.

'Is there any particular reason you decided to go the barbaric route of dealing with the tree instead of your normal tactic?' Asked Athena from her place in the dome. She would have rather had Kuku fly some of the civilians out now that the Knights seemed to forget their escort to safety duties., but alas, the serpent wasn't going to be that helpful.

"I require a broom," was all she said as she slithered even further away and towards the gawking Rune Knights. The tree was motionless sure, but not completely done for. Still, it remained motionless long enough for her to give it the additional role of broom so she could start sweeping the Knights back into action. "Stop staring like useless morons and get back to work! Don't you see that red danger glow? You have less than ten minutes, now get moving before... before... Actually none of you are worth eating. Just do what I say. And. Get. Moving!" Sweep! Sweep! Sweep! Tinsel and bauble jingle jangle.

The Knights seemed to remember that there were other things going on besides naked people standing in the town square and got back to fighting and escorting. Cernunnos had also left the combat scene to allow space for Janus to enter the world and use his portals to speed up the escort process. Kukulkan was strong enough to summon him on her own and she wasn't about to listen to his excuses of avoiding a battle scene due to being an old spirit. The weaker of the knights had also made use of the portals to escape the dangers of the future light show and incoming Santa encounter.

Speaking of, it was time for that once always spirited and jolly man to make his appearance. His magical aura increased several times over as he appeared in the town square, seemingly preparing himself for a battle against those that had taken out so many of his holiday army. With his shouts of "HO! HO! HO!" the silly music that was playing before changed completely, and had now turned into a musical background track that was a bit more fitting. Boss encounter initiated!

Meanwhile Samira and Susano were stuck for a few moments longer. One getting more embarrassed and pissed off as time went on, and the other feeling a bit strange. He kept hearing his name being called. It wasn't a common name was it?  Even if it was, the way it was called was more powerful than a normal person's. And then there was something... else. He was feeling something familiar and yet it was also alien to him. Even with the red glow all around them he could still feel and detect the change of the sky and sun's rays. He made no mention of it to Samira, and he even kept it from his spirit sister. Then the realization hit him on why it was familiar. What he felt from whoever was calling his name was nearly identical to his fellow spirit. That was impossible though. She had not been summoned and if she were she would not be that far away. The slight difference also denied that possibility. That only left two other options; another spirit clone was around somewhere, or the even more impossibility of whoever was coming was the real Amaterasu. Currently, he could not investigate as much as he wanted to. He was stuck there, immobilized from the first present attack's effect.

The red glow didn't seem to cause any issue to either summon of Ruvel, in fact they seemed quite comfortable underneath it if anything. Oykai remained holding the air freshener out to the others as he tried to ignore the wailing of the music that was going on in the background "You won't mind if I kill that summon would you, because playing this kind of music is a cruel and unusual punishment by even my standards." he asked the summoner and her warrior summoner, he knew the answer would be no but there was no harm in asking in his opinion. He had taken note of the stance of the warrior summon, were it didn't seem the same as Ruvel's own within Barthenz he could tell that he would be seen as the defender of his summoner. He was about to open his mouth to say something but soon noticed that the taller woman had raised his hand and was slowly extending it toward him as if she was ready to poke him and wanted to slap her hand away personally but nothing good came from one like him touching another being outside his home realm. "I would suggest heeding your summon's warning, I am a reaper to touch me or have me touch you outside my home realm spells your end even if not immediately." he warned the other his voice calm but held a serious undertone. The death summon could tell the woman had a few blemishes on her soul but that was not uncommon within mortals, but over all she was a good person who would try and help those who needed it.

He tilted his head as the summon spoke and quirked an eyebrow "I don't enjoy being poked or having to explain why people keeled over and died because they decided to do it." he said with a sigh feeling sorry for the other summon "I feel your pain Susanoo..." was the only think he could say to the warrior summon. Oykai had been around long enough to study history, myths and lore from all over the place so it was was kind of easy for him to identify deity summons or their spiritual counterparts in this case. He thought on the last part that was said for a moment only to smirk "Actually, in my home realm I am classed as cute. I have no plans on settling anytime soon, but thank you for the compliment." he said with a smile for a change, if Ruvel had actually seen this he would have thought that the apocalypse was about to start given the death summon had a severe disliking to anything that was alive. Once again his blood ruby coloured eyes went to the can of air freshener that he was holding as the conversation headed back to the question that he had asked. "Air freshener?" he seemed confused by what was being said "Does the void even have air?" he scratched his head a little as it was something he would have to experiment with it would seem. "Actually it was really useful earlier, one of the bears smelt like barbecue and singed fur so used it on them... now they kinda look like barbecue..." he said pointing to the smouldering thing laying on the ground "When it's your time, it's your time." he said with a shrug showing that it didn't even bother him at all.

Hearing that she wanted to take some home so enquired about the different kinds there might have been he couldn't help but sigh and face palm "Yes, because I had enough time to check the scents to see which would be used on the raging flaming bear." his eyes rolling showing his sarcasm "I picked up the first one I was closest to the window and used it." he said honestly knowing he really hadn't checked, then again he didn't think there was more than one scent "Wait there are other smells for this stuff?" he said as if he was being enlightened on something world changing. It was then the warrior summon seemed to disturb their pleasant conversation to remind them about the chaos around them and what they were actually meant to be doing. "Is he always such a killjoy?" the smaller summon said with a sigh his soul filled blood ruby eyes covered by his hood "And don't call me 'Deathy' air for brains." he said his tone showing that he was less than impressed about what he was called earlier. "We can continue this conversation after the apparent threat is gone like you can explain what the hell is potpourri is." he said now wanting about the new thing that had been mentioned.

Hearing the incoming call Oykai used his unnatural speed and jumping from building to building to get out of there when he seen the present because from what he had seen nothing good came from getting hit by them. As the box seemingly exploded to release glitter what happened next made him glad he was out of the area that the glitter covered. "Wow, close call." he said his eyes going to his own summoner still within his light tomb getting poked now and then by elves, but he was glad it was still standing because just getting near that would hurt him like a bitch. He had seemingly dodged the first present but thinking it was safe he came back down again, by the time he realised what a mistake that was the second present exploded and covered himself and the other two with glitter. "What the hell" he exclaimed watching as the clothing of the other summon and his summoner vanished, he was now glad that his clothing wasn't made by fabric or he himself would have been in for the same ill fate that befell them. "Beautiful form." he commented noting Samira's curves even with the mist covering things that shouldn't be seen by anyone but a person's lover. "Seems like you are going to be on quite a few peoples Christmas list this year." he noted motioning over to some rune knights that seemed to still be in the area.

Oykai burst out laughing as he seen how the serpentine summon was reacting with the tree and the rune knights. His laughter ended abruptly and his eyes turned towards his own summoner "Concentrate or you know what happens." he warned him knowing that his laughter had disturbed his summoner who now once again closed his eyes concentrating the light tomb becoming brighter making the void based summon wince, he hated this thing but it wasn't his place to decide anything of the youths decisions unless it was going to kill him. His current path was going to overly exert him and that meant that their would be consequences but that was something to worry about later. Hearing the 'Ho ho ho' he knew who it was and that were the others had been annoying the real struggle was about to begin, seeing the ripped santa dressed in his red suit with white trimming, black shades made him blink slowly; more so as he threw off the shades ripped his top off and proceeded to dab. "D-did he just do what I think he done?" he said with some amount of disbelief in his voice, his hand moving forward as he released souls towards the dabbing santa. Thanks to their wailing the santa had been caught off guard and stuck in his stupid pose allowing several of the souls shot forward to hit him, there was yet another blast of fire setting some more of the elves and a few bears alight. The tree that the fire summon had been sitting in now nothing more than a heap of cinders on the ground as she watched santa's beard catch on fire making her chuckle as she moved towards Oykai "Aww, speed don't count for anything when frozen on the spot now does it." she commented before looking at Samira "Talking about frozen, you're quite.. yes..." she stated noticing a few things before her eyes went to the warrior summon "Oh yes, you and I need to talk more privately later" she purred rubbing her finger under his chin speaking in a more 'come hither' tone. "Will you get your brain out of the bedroom!" Oykai growled "Well my people are very passionate and what can I say, it's been a while since I had a tumble with an eastern warrior." she said with a grin, it just made Oykai want to hit her but that wouldn't do anything for anyone right now.

"Ōhirume-sama, you have to stop! Now!"

The woman, through all of her tears, bore a hole into Kusanagi's conscience. She knew he was right but... how could she stop? Her own flesh and blood was meters away, granted it was not truly him. That was another important matter. It was not impossible to believe that Susano'o parted with a portion of his spirit to assist mortals in their goals; the real question was why. For her, mortals had too few redeeming qualities to be kept alive, let alone given help. This thought then reminded her of her other brother, Tsukuyomi, who instead disliked demons and monsters and such ilk due to the pun made in his name. As many things as they were in disagreement on, they were equally in agreement on however, granted Amaterasu's view on the mortal races were quite skewed now compared to then.

"I know how difficult this must be for you... and I want you to reunite with him too... but there are too many eyes. You absolutely cannot reveal your identity. This is why you're wearing your mother's mask. Surely that alone will be enough for him to recognize you."

The weapon spoke directly into Void's mind so that nobody would hear the conversation. Amaterasu gritted her teeth and retorted as though she was in physical pain, which by the way was not an exaggeration.

"I... know that... but my... body is... moving beyond... my control. Its... desire... is too powerful... Kusanagi, you must... force me to transform... even for just a moment. Let me release... all this fire... within my being."

Not a moment after her thought finished, her body was engulfed in pure white-red flame. Said flame grew large and larger as she walked closer and closer to where Susano'o and those other mortals she did not know of. Void did not know there were also many other things going on at the same time. Many summoned spirits resided there, along with another gradually brightening light which was not her own. A very large man with a white beard also made his appearance at the most perfect time. The concrete underneath Void's feet melted upon touch, and even as she began to see all of those beings just ahead, the flame grew more powerful but eventually shrunk in size until everything culminated within Kusanagi's blade. It glowed with such pure white flame that said light was clearly shown through the sheath which was quite thick. Her companion could allow this much, so that she would not reveal her true nature to mortals but it was most definitely enough of a display for the spirit fragment of Susano'o to recognize that unique flame.

"I pray that nothing bad comes of this. It is usually the most harmless actions that lead to the most dire of situations."

Unfortunately, Amaterasu naturally gravitated closer and closer to her brother who apparently could not move. The woman next to him was entirely naked, which did not faze Ōhirume in the slightest. She could tell however that young human was very powerful at just a glance. The posture, as well as the quality of summons she had near her, made it pretty clear. How strong was a separate question that currently Void could not answer; regardless, she drew closer... closer... closer still, until she was less than a foot away from her brother. The black-haired goddess wrapped her arms around the spirit and brought herself tightly against his small body.

"Meanwhile, I am sitting here folding myself so the engravings don't melt away. This may be the one time Amaterasu-sama can see her brother, but... surely she must realize that even a few seconds under this kind of heat feels like an entire century worth of life. She doesn't even realize that her clothes are starting to melt off. I know she has zero sense of modesty but to such a point in front of so many humans, she may as well be Aph- nevermind. It may be best not to say. She might randomly start paying attention to her surroundings."

That feeling of oneness was in fact something she had not felt in thousands of years though now it made her somewhat sad. She knew that they had to part again. And despite the sky being so crystal clear, warm rain began to drizzle lightly from above... as though the Sun itself was crying. Void pulled herself away after a couple of moments and then rested her forehead against his, whispering something only he could hear.

"We will be together again, I swear it... Takehaya-nii-san."

She then tore herself away and all of her emotions burned away without a trace. With all that heat built up, even Kusanagi began to fold its own metal. Finally the blade was removed from its sheath with Amaterasu's right hand. The woman knew that with her current strength she would not be able to take down this man known as Santa Claus on her own; for this, she relied on the strength of that naked human girl to finish things up. After all, she was a Goddess. She could pin this decision entirely on divine guidance if she truly felt the need to give a reason.

"You must be the boy who's causing all this trouble. Mmm, before I have to leave, let me give you a gift. More than likely the others here will teach you a proper lesson in manners that I could not hand over."

Amaterasu lifted Kusanagi above her with both hands gripping the pommel tightly and moved into a perfect-posture kendo striking stance. This technique was visualized in her mind. She took the concept of her Tan'itsu Shunkan and instead applied it to kendo, except there was a twist. By spending triple the energy cost of this technique, she could multiply the amount of strikes in that brief second it happened by twenty times. Searing and slicing in the same spot at the same angle and velocity, the wound left on his chest would be... both horrendous and irreparable. However, without even realizing, she performed the technique as she visualized it and she was already putting the blade back in its sheath, said flame having been dissipated after being released in the attack. Ōhirume hesitated for a moment and looked back at Susano'o, or rather the spirit fragment of him, one more time. Then she literally vanished in a wisp of red flame. Running extremely low on ethernano, it was not wise for her to remain in the middle of a combat zone butat least she left a nice mark on that idiot of a human.

Perhaps one day soon... they could meet again. Under quieter circumstances. Until then, the Goddess would roam the country of Fiore in silence, biding her time for something interesting enough to pique her fancy arose.

"Oh, and Kusanagi. I heard everything. You better start praying to me for forgiveness today, if you plan to live a long, healthy eternity at my side."

    "Shit."

Hostile Invasion Christmas Present - From Santa (Event, Ruvel, Void, Private) Empty Re: Hostile Invasion Christmas Present - From Santa (Event, Ruvel, Void, Private)

Post by Samira Nassar 18th January 2019, 6:47 am

Being frozen in more ways than one was such fun, especially when lacking clothes. It was certainly a way to gain attention even during an invasion of the current sort. The summons of the child had even made their own comments about it. The one she had referred to as cute for his adorable air freshener ignorance was now someone she would rather slap to the next town. The least he could do was not stare long enough to say anything about it! Even if it were a compliment. Him pointing out the knights and her being on a Christmas list only made her normally controlled temper rise. As for the woman summon, she seemed a lot more interested in her spirit. Not that, that was much better. That one was wanting to skip the date and dinner and head straight to the bedroom! Inappropriate! Samira had half a mind to mentally dismiss him right then and there, but she still technically needed him, preferably with clothes on once they could move again. Even then, there was yet another addition to the party.

Somewhat further ahead a bright flame could be seen. One that was moving and as it got closer it was revealed that it was actually a woman. The flame around her grew smaller until it was concentrated in her blade, yet the flame seemed to be ignored by her even as it was burning her clothes right off. Another thing that Samira considered as inappropriate. She didn't know who the woman was exactly. The light and fire reminded her of her own spirit that had the same properties but it wasn't as if that sort of thing was rare among wizards. Although, the strange woman acting as she did bothered Samira to some degree. The woman had hugged her spirit and placed her forehead against his. That wasn't exactly something a common stranger would do. She herself couldn't hear anything being said, though, if there were any words at all. The woman separated herself without saying anything else to them, but rather to the dabbing Santa Claus. Shortly after that a powerful attack was dealt against the un-moving Santa by her. Then she was gone. A peculiar person, at least to Samira.

For Susano things were a bit different. He could tell that one of his earlier assumptions had been right. It was impossible not to. The small fragment of the true god within him reacted in a way inside him that couldn't be ignored. He couldn't really move or say anything in reply even though he had some questions and also wanted to point out that despite what he was made from he wasn't her true brother. That guy was... well who really knew where he was? As far as he was concerned though, the hug and the words were meant for the small fragment inside him that connected to the real god. Not so much for him. It was doubtful he and the true Susano were even remotely the same aside from name. Now it got him thinking how many of those gods even knew there were spirit versions of themselves running around. The history books on the matter weren't exactly around to read up on.

'Samira. You remember that time Angra Mainyu pretty much labeled us as abominations?'
'You are bringing that up now? We are both without attire in the middle of the town square.'
    'It's relevant.'
'Does this have anything to do with that strange woman?'
'Lets just say that I know I can be a bit of an ass, but I have never felt like one just from existing before. Do me a favor and don't tell Ama about this.'
'The paralysis effect of that present is wearing off. We will discuss this later.'
'More likely you will discuss it and I'll pretend I don't know what you are talking about. But, sure. Why not?'

The effect then broke, releasing both summoner and spirit and allowing them to move once more. Samira immediately covered herself up by using a re-quip spell to summon armor onto her body. She felt sorry for whatever poor souls did not have such magic to counter the effects of that particular present. Even better for her was that her current armor set was more defensive than just turning her spirits into armor. That light the young boy was still charging was still an issue, and by that point she was just going to have to defend herself against it instead of stopping it. Everyone that needed to be evacuated was already safe. The ice spear she had summoned earlier returned to her, and with it a ring of icy mist formed underneath the rest of the enemies that were near the santa. A blue explosion of the mist happened a second after that, revealing them all to be frozen in place. Janus was then switched out for Bastet, a quicker offensive summon to help weed out what was left and make her own attacks against the Santa, who was beginning to move again.

Now it was time for Samira to sate her anger and go on the offensive to punish the ridiculous santa and his perverted clothes stealing trees. Her armor remained, but her actual form began to change. Her skin, hair, and eyes changed coloring and burned like the sun itself. Brightly colored wings that also burned appeared on her back as well to complete the look. She had taken on the aspects of Ra. Why? Because those wintry holiday terrors were about to either run away or burn before being shoved back through those damn portals. Her first target? The tree that dared take her clothes. Kukulkan dropped the thing after it had woke up and repeatedly slapped her with tinsel. However, once the tree recovered itself and bounced back up to stand upright once more, it saw the quickly charging flaming summoner and began to hop away to the nearest portal. The tree did not desire to be a pile of ash on the ground like its friend had become by the young boy's flame summon.

"So to get her to turn things up a notch in a fight you steal her clothes. Noted." Susano watched for a few seconds as Samira chased down the tree, but soon decided he should probably get back into the fight and get things over with quicker. His own clothes reformed. He was a spirit, not an actual mortal, so calling on his normal clothes really was not that difficult. He probably could have done it even while immobilized but eh. That would have been less interesting. That thought then reminded him of the rather interesting and forward Arabian dancer-looking summon. She probably was not at all happy at having to move out of the way when Amaterasu approached him and took over with gaining his attention. He stopped himself when he took a step forward and turned towards her instead. "Oh, going to have to take a rain check on your suggestion. Nothing personal. It was actually pretty damn tempting." The spirit could only sigh at his misfortune in that area. Someone was interested in that sort of fun, but he had to turn it down. There were now other things on his mind that needed to be sorted out. He then looked over at the summon that radiated death. There was only one thing to say. "Later, Deathy." Susano then took off to re-join the fight. It was probably unwise for Oykai to mention he disliked that nickname, but it wasn't as if they were given any other name to call him by. Perfect excuse, right?

Samira and spirits worked to rid the area of whatever remained until it was just Santa left. Many attacks were made against the oddly ripped Santa, and he had made his own counters towards them as well. It mattered little and the team just continued on with whatever help was provided by the allies that were around. The final blow was made in the form of Samira summoning Sagittarius as a bow rather than his spirit form. He refused to be there in person. Something about competing in a Christmas treat bake-off had been the excuse. She wasn't aware he had baking hobbies but whatever. The weapon form worked well enough. As she raised and aimed it at the Santa, an arrow formed and then was released. A great burst of magical energy was also released and followed the arrow, hitting the Santa in the middle of his chest and pushing him back through one of the portals that led back to his realm. All the portals then disappeared and did not seem to be trying to return. The Santa had been weakened enough it seemed, perhaps for another whole year. Victory music then began to play.

"I am starting to desire being deaf." At least then she wouldn't have to worry about lame background music or comments about... her naked body. Hopefully no one was taking pictures or would believe it actually happened if the story was told. Her spells powered down, minus the armor for obvious reasons. That one had to be kept up. The spirits also poofed into swirls of particles to return to their own realm. Now she just needed to find that air freshener shop before speaking with Susano about what happened earlier, and perhaps properly explain what potpourri is to the summon that had inquired about it. So long as she didn't try to touch him. That needed to be remembered. Who knew the topic of air freshener could bring people together?
