Okay, despite being in the middle of combat, Mura couldn’t help - in this altered state - angering himself with the fact that Althea was nowhere near as goofy and adorable as she used to be. Yes, of course, this moon dust that fell from the sky was holding them all in a bind - by the way, Pluto, hurry up and work your magic, please - but it was nonetheless annoying and infuriating for the lively shaman. For instance, their souls looked much more different; it was as if their whole beings were substituted by others. Althea had an otaku moment with her nya’s and lack of cat ears in a maid outfit- it just pissed him off so much. Sorano-imouto-master-sama had lost her emotionless emotions or whatever, becoming this frank, cocky little timebomb full of hormones and frustrations that she never had the thought of unleashing in her previous days. Hell, she never hugged anyone before this! Mura wouldn’t have been surprised if she never had the chance to hug her own mother like previously… and he was used to that kind of Sorano. He loved that kind of Sorano just like he loved the old kind of Althea and the… uh, Naomi hadn’t changed much, but the case was that it was why this was unacceptable! If there was a way to give the pollen shit a huge middle finger (like writing all this right now for you), he wouldn’t hesitate the moment he got the chance!
On the other hand, Mythica was actually more comfortable to hang out with - in a public type of comfort, by the way. Usually, she’d give him the stalk eyes, bounce onto his back or whisper arousing but crazy things into his ear or something; now, she was this timid, shy girl whose ‘transformation’ was MUCH more apparent than before. Truth be told, it confused him more than it satisfied him, so he kind of put her in the grey zone concerning his worry about all this mess. A cute, little grey zone with some cookies and chocolate milk… and perhaps a huge dog demon. Yes, he knew about its presence, it wasn’t hard for a shaman like him.
“No one asked for your opinion, nya~!” Damn the fact that she lived right now, that was just dumb and completely unnecessary in this situation. Did she forget her own magic? Mura had the thought of shouting ‘lol’ out of nowhere, but… uh, he was in the middle of something. As a matter of fact, he was in the middle of protecting his hometown, Magnolia, from what now looked like a bunch of pumpkin bulls with terrifying jaws that hung out like rotten vegetables. “None of you will continue! I PROTECT THIS TOWN!” he shouted as he dashed forth in a single line, holding Harusame in his right hand and Futsunomitamano-whatever in his left. He furiously clashed them together with Kyuken’s spirit ball head in the middle, fusing the samurai ghost into both blades and causing a massive amount of shadows to erupt from the point of impact.
“I don’t care how many of you are here to eat me alive! You’re all yōkais, and guess what I am?!” The giant-ass spirit sword swooshed across the field, taking on four Kinpups at once. Some of them showed their ability to absorb mana by contact, but they’d find themselves immobilized by Mura’s dark magic. He continued lifting the blade up for another swing, seemingly clearing many streets around as his sword managed to phase through unwished targets such as buildings and his allies without injuring them… but in reality, he kept the blade smaller than usual. He didn’t want to hurt anyone, no matter how loud he stated his wish to do so - for instance with Althea and her godforsaken mentality - so he still took his measurements and conditions into account. The kinpups would fall back by his magic and start charging towards other wizards in the area. He was about to follow up on them, but the ground began to shake violently. According to his stomach, some other monster was about to arrive… and it was a huge one, but not really monster-like. It turned out to be weirder than he imagined…
From the ground in the middle of the street, a huuuuuuuuuuge pumpkin tower rose like the world’s largest oak tree. It interrupted his battle with the kinpups, and even they themselves stood still for a moment - some other monsters near Naomi and Althea too stood still for an instance. The tower made of a bunch of pumpkin heads - about ten in total with nine hanging around as tendrils guarding the tenth in the middle - had even cracked through some buildings which really pissed Mura off. Talk about collateral damage, he tried to avoid that shit until now! Bullshit! It was so easy for enemies of this town to just wreck havoc everywhere, because in the end, these Fairy Tail Wizards would be to blame anyways!
“You wanna come down here and try breaking shit, you overgrown tomato?!” he roared to the huge tower which responded rather quickly by releasing fiery pumpkin seeds dosed in fire everywhere, “Hah! Fire magic against me? That’s a huge mista-“ Well, he was attempting to use water magic towards it, or turn the fires around the seeds to water for lesser collateral damage. However, another water spell had been launched… why… Althea, just why…?
She did it. She literally just screwed up the most right now, and he couldn’t express his anger enough. Those waves, three in total, all screamed ‘casualties, collateral damage, allies will be hurt’ with huge, bold letters. They came rising up from nowhere and was aimed at the entire suburban, and they weren’t that far away from Mura’s house! “NO!!!” he screamed in panic, “NOOOOO!!!” He quickly pointed his hand towards the waves to try and turn them to something else, perhaps into a still-standing statue of a wave or something else that didn’t move. However, the waves seemed to freeze down by someone else - that someone else being his sister figure Sorano-chan.
He was so happy when the waves appeared to stop. Forgetting that he was in the middle of combat, he punched the air upwards and hailed: “Way to go, Sorano! No one fucks with Magnolia!” He assured himself that Althea would know better by now, because if she didn’t… then he’d have to take things personally. And you wouldn’t like it when Mura went personal. Anyway, there was still a huge pumpkin tower left; the shaman also noticed the certain lack of Sorano in the area. Did she ditch them, already?! The battle wasn’t over yet, they stood before what appeared to be the certain boss of this whole shenanigan of pumpkin bullshittery! This wasn’t fair at all, she was our strongest mage!
“Hmpf, better take care of things myself, then… what was it, again? Masai Gokōjin?” he spoke to himself - contra when he used to speak to Kyuken or Zirconis who, for the most part, were speechless with the situation at hand - as he swung his katana around. It was still large as hell and filled with as much mana as he could pour in before it was sucked by those idiotic kinpups, and it was a deep, purple color to its blade and hilt. The pumpkin heads would lash out at him alike a hydra going to attack, and he rapidly dashed around a small area to avoid direct impact with the blood-thirsty jaws of theirs. It was surprisingly fast for a pumpkin… why were they still dealing with pumpkins, anyway? Why? Pumpkins were vegetables, and now they destroyed everything - what kind of signal did it send to the young audience? It was just another good reason to slaughter the monstrous abomination in a hurry.
It had ten heads. Breathing heavily, Mura spun around with his huge spirit blade, releasing a few Halo Blades towards each head. Approximately, 5 hits per head; that was sufficient if he didn’t get in trouble again. “Everyone! Focus your attacks on this big boy!” he messaged the others through his wide mouth, “Its middle head is the goal! Aim for that one, and avoid the other heads!” He would take care of the smaller heads with his favored Halo Blade which released dozens of attacks in the blink of an eye, sufficing in taking down a head per Halo Blade. Meanwhile, he increased the area of effect for the spell, because with Zirconis’ help, he could see that the other wizards were having trouble with the kinpups and mares… those darn mares.
Also… it was just a hunch, but he felt like he would feel better with the altered state thing if he defeated this monster, because every time that he hit it successfully with a Halo Blade, a glimpse of Midi, his home, his father and Fairy Tail passed by his vision…
