    Spoiler:

Cirven looked through the job board for anything that stood out to him. The recent amount of jobs had been sort of boring for him. "Find my book, protect my house, Vulcans, Vulcans, Vulcans.." He mumbled the headlines for multiple different jobs posted as he looked. Suddenly it was almost as if a certain piece of paper appeared on its own on the board. It wasn't there earlier when he had looked but he figured someone in the guildhall used some sort of magic to make it appear. It wouldn't have been too far fetched for there being a magic that could do that.

"Investigate haunted castle.." He read it out load. "Why do I get a feeling that we should do this job..?" It was like just him saying the words on the paper was compelling him to complete the job. He walked to the table where the rest of his team waited for him to find some work for them to do.

"Hey guys." He placed the paper on the table for them to see. "I don't know why but I feel like we should do this job. Maybe its because demons aren't that far from being ghost I guess." He spoke out still unsure.

He wondered if any of them would feel the same about the job or not because it was weird that it affected him in such a way. "This is just weird though. Its like something it calling me to go there to do it. Even weirder was that it popped up on the board in a spot that I looked at multiple times."

Kiersa giggled. "Sh-should h-have s-seen Mary's face..." she said as she reminisced with Mary about the convent, whilst telling a story to Aayla. "I s-swear... y-you l-looked like one of the r-rabbits wh-when they'd b-been caught w-with all the feed in their mouth." she giggled, ballooning her cheeks and trying to mimic a smile at the same time. "P-Poor S-Sister Serena h-had to b-bake more f-from scratch. A-And M-Mary wasn't a-allowed n-near the kitchens a-again, w-without s-supervision f-for a month." the nun giggled.

When Cirven came to the table with the job and started talking however, the smile lowered a little as he talked about demons and ghosts. "G-Ghosts are l-lost s-spirits of the d-dead... D-demons... are... well... n-not..." she very quietly corrected, not sure if he'd hear her even with the enhanced hearing all Slayers seemed to be cursed slash blessed with. Kiersa did look at the job offer however.

She blinked and held her head a little before looking at the job again. "Y-You're n-not alone..." said the nun softly as she frowned in thought. "P-Perhaps... th-the c-client... whoever th-they were... I-Is trying to s-seek aid... f-from b-beyond the g-grave?" suggested Kiersa before she read over the job in detail some more before standing up. "W-We'll n-need p-preparations... s-salt... l-lots of it..." she said before slowly blushing if they looked at her wondering how she knew this. "I um... s-spent m-my f-free t-time in the l-library... wh-whenever M-Mary w-wasn't g-getting m-me a-and h-her into m-mischief..." explained the nun.

    "G-Ghosts a-and such s-spirits... a-aren't a-affected b-by magic... w-well... a-any m-magic that w-we possess... even yours..." she said with a nod to Cirven and Mary. "S-So... w-we'll n-need a l-lot of s-salt... d-depending o-on h-how m-many s-spirits there are... And Iron. I-Iron is k-known to r-repel gh-ghosts..." stated Kiersa as she looked at the group.

She couldn't help but laugh at the story Keirsa recounted, it seemed silly now for someone to get caught eating doughnuts like that... she had managed to sneak a bit of food herself, and when she had gotten caught it was no laughing matter, but it did grant her some happiness to see how others could have the same experience, but have it end on a much happier note. when Cirven came over to the table however, her smile began to die down slowly.

    "ghosts?"
Aayla said with a light gulp as she put her drink down, glancing over to Kiersa and Civen, her eyes then darted to the job request that Kiersa now held in her hands. She'd never really thought much on the subject of ghosts... no one told her about them, her parents never wanted to scare her, and it wasn't as if any of the dark mages bothered to tell her anything. They were all demons in her eyes anyways... Ghosts never had a place in her thoughts until now.

"I... don't know... it's kind of dangerous to try and fight something that we can't hit with out magic... mine might work a bit... since I use salty water but... is Salt really going to get us out of trouble if something happens?"
She asked Kiersa, standing up and going over to read the flyer over Kiersas shoulder.

    "You sure.. Cirven?"
She asked, looking up to her elder brother curiously. she still had not quite forgiven him for what he did... but until they had a moment alone to talk about it, this sense of uneasiness would always stay between them.

Post by Mary Mahoney 26th August 2014, 1:23 pm

Mary walked into the room with 3 boxes of doughnut in her hand and a smile on her face. This was a perfect day when villagers handed out the nun free boxes of the Makers divine gift to the world. One of the boxes was already half empty and her mouth was stuffed like a chipmunk with all the deliciousness. She was about to share the doughnuts until she heard Kiersa telling Aayla about her first week in the convent and the doughnut heist she almost got away with. Instead she was caught with her cheeks stuffed like a chipmunk and sugar crashed on the formaica. Mary went white as snow before she tackled her to the floor, "No don't tell them that story! You know how heavenly divine those dougnuts were! You would beg her to make those strawberry filled doughnuts you always loved!" Mary said all of it with the same chipmunk cheeks that she had back at the Convent, not much has changed before then!

After getting off she heard what the job entailed, there was the next few words that was spoken: Ghosts. Mahoney chuckled, this was something that she actually had time training with. So she packed her mouth full of doughnuts and walked straight into the kitchen to the annoyance of the cooks that were yelling at her. She then grabbed one of the giant buckets of cooking salt from the kitchen and carried over the shoulder. Mary happily hummed out as she came straight out of the kitchen declaring, "You won't believe how much salt the guild puts in our food! They were dumping a whole bucket of this stuff in while I was there in our soup! Mary laughed merrily as she intended to carry the salt drum to the haunted mansion. She did set it down again for a bit as she finished the first box of doughnuts. The girl suffered the sin of gluttony when it came to doughnuts and had actually gotten worse since she became a demon. Mary herself however did not notice this difference as her demonic influence was slowly changing her personality in a way she wouldn't notice until it was too late.

"What are we waiting for? Let's go bust some ghosts!"

He was kind of confused by them needing salt for ghosts but he trusted his teammates enough to not go against their knowledge. It was still weird to think of because if they were ghosts and they could go through objects then wouldn't the salt do the same? He thought of not worrying about that and continued to speak over something else. " I'm sure Aalya. I just feel like something wants me to go do this for some reason. Is it only Kiesa and I who feel like something is calling us to go to this castle?"

He had a feeling that Mary and Aalya would go with them regardless of not feeling the same things or not but he didn't want to drag anyone along who was not ready for it. "If anyone wants to step this one out they can. I won't look at you differently." Mary had vanished as he spoke. She had a sort of ability for just disappearing like that or he at least felt she did.

"Whoa Mary!" He started to laugh as he saw the girl carrying a giant bucket of salt towards them. "Looks like you got ahead of me. Was going to go do the same thing." He walked up to her and grabbed the bucket of salt. "I'll get it. You enjoy your doughnuts while we are on the way." He walked towards and exited the guildhall door while carrying the bucket. "Follow me if you want to go to the spooky castle full of adventure and possibly doughnuts." He said in a spooky voice as he walked and then smiled after.

Kiersa blushed at Mary’s words. “I-I d-didn’t beg!” she protested, before tapping her index fingers together. “M-More… p-prayed a-and p-pleaded…” she said softly. “I-I w-was only little!” said the nun in her failure of a defence before she decided to get back on track with this business of ghosts, picking to answer their questions concerning the power of salt against the undead ethereal beings.

“S-Salt i-is a pure s-substance, a-and spirits are r-repulsed by p-pure substances.” explained Kiersa for the blue haired siblings. She gave an amused sigh at Mary’s antics. “Y-You’re going t-to get f-fat from all th-those donuts Mary.” The nun chuckled before her eyes widened at the sight of the large barrel of salt. “E-Everyone fill y-your packs w-with the salt… Makes i-it easier to carry th-than a s-single large b-barrel.” Offered the nun as an explanation as she began to fill her pouches with the salt.

“Wh-When w-we g-get there… w-we’ll need t-to f-find the s-source of the hauntings…” said Kiersa as they filled their packs, her eyes darting to the kitchens now and then in anticipation of the wrath of the cooks. “O-Once w-we do… w-we’ll need to c-cover i-it with s-salt, a-and then C-Cirven,” she said, nodding to the pointy eared big brother demon slayer, “y-you’ll n-need t-to set it on f-fire. W-With wh-whatever i-is binding th-them there g-gone, th-they sh-should r-return to their Final Rests…” explained the nun as she finished filling her satchels.

She looked around the other three before squeaking at the sight of the cooking staff coming towards them. “M-Mary… d-did you a-ask if w-we could u-use this?” she asked, already knowing the answer simply because of who the girl was, and how she acted in the past.

Post by Aayla 4th September 2014, 6:07 pm

Aayla sighed when her brother seemed adamant about taking on the job, glancing over to the other two girls who also seemed all gung ho about hunting these spirits. Personally, she really didn't understand the concept of ghosts... she didn't know what they were really and that thought scared her.

    "U..uhm I don't... hmm"
she fell silent as she bit her lower lip, the others weren't paying any attention to her anyways... Mary had run off to get some salt, Kiersa was busy trying to verbally defend herself, and then question Mary about said salt... and Cirven was making weird 'spooky' voices as he and Mary, followed by Kiersa left the guildhall.

'I really don't want to do this job...'

The young girl thought to herself, but fell in line behind her team quietly. Once outside, she didn't even need to whistle for Zinnath as the large serpent was already slithering her way over to the group. No doubt she had heard them getting ready and came down to greet them. Aayla went over and gently pat Zinnath's nose, sighing lightly as she hugged the serpent before looking back to her team.

"Well, Zinnath can only carry one more person so... who's flying and who's riding..?"
She asked the team, silently hoping that either Keirsa or even Mary would offer to fly with her. She hadn't been left alone with cirven yet, and wasn't looking forward to his interrogation of her attitude towards him. In truth, she felt like her attitude had been completely justified but still... maybe she was being too hard on him about the whole incident.

Post by Mary Mahoney 5th September 2014, 5:07 pm

Mary chuckled as she listened to the plan, which basically was salt them and have Cirven smoke them. Simple, easy and effective! Mary liked plans like this, because there would be less rooms to screw up. So she listened as the plan was told and started shoveling some salt in her puch, but then stopped as she  made an observation, "And if we run out of salt? Wouldn't it be better if we had a place to refuel the supplies?" She was not trying to contradict Kiersa, the plan was good. However the answer would have to wait as the cooks came running out with their cutlery and screaming for blood. In Mary's eyes that was scarier than any ghost they could see, so Mary quickly sealed the salt barrel and tried to make a run for the teleporter. However the cooks were smart and blocked her path, making Mary have to find an alternate exit.

Thats when she eyed Aayla's serpent and decided that it was her best option. Making a running jump on the serpent, the demon nun yelled "Dibs!" She got on the serpent as quickly as he could and hoped that Aayla would have the common sense to book it and not stay in a certain place for too long. Preferably anywhere but here.

However when they were up in the air and away Mary would notice something was off on Aayla. Hesitation in her actions were becoming much clearer by the minute. So does that mean she was scared? It was everyone (including Mary's) elses fault for being so gung-ho about everything that they ignored one person. So Mary asked, "Aayla you might be scared of this job, but it may do you some good. If you fear ghosts, then you need to learn to face them. That is how we get stronger... I live in fear every day you know." She was reffering to her demonic taint that she had. When would the day when she was no longer human.

"Sounds easy enough to me. I don't think this will be so hard of a job seeing as we will be prepared. Wonder what type of ghosts there are...?" He placed the salt barrel down not too far away from the teleport pad so that everyone could grab enough to fill their pouches. He imagined some of the ghosts to look like people who were ripped to pieces. "Maybe the ghosts will look like see through zombies with missing limbs or maybe they will show in different forms of animals!"

He was excited to see what these ghosts would look like for some reason. He had a feeling some of the others might have different views on it but he hoped they were excited for a different type of job to do.

He turned his focus to the entrance to the guild hall as Kiersa pointed out the group of chefs heading their way. "You stole it from them? You do know that they are the ones who make all those doughnuts you like, right Mary?" He grinned at Mary after speaking because he knew how much apologizing she would be doing once they got back.

He started to move towards Zinnath in an attempt to be alone with his sister finally but was cut off by Mary. "Awww! Mary!" Before he could complain anymore he noticed the chefs were too close for him to have enough time to whine about the situation. "Kiersa, lets go!" He ran to the teleport pad and used it to travel to the ground to get away from the charging chefs.

Kiersa looked over in Aayla's direction for a moment, and was about to offer herself to ride with the girl, having realised that the team had just ran roughshod over her... The idea that she had made her friend upset made her upset... Although that sensation was put to the side for the moment as not only did Mary already scamper onto Zinnith's back, but also the kitchen staff were out baying for their blood! Or more precisely their salt that Mary had stolen and they had lined their pouches and pockets with.

"Maaaary!" yelled the nun at the older girl, running after Cirven and onto the teleport pad to the waiting carriage below. She quickly got aboard and helped Cirven aboard, briefly wondering how she had outstripped the Demon Slayer before sighing as the ride began. She looked over to him swiftly in concern. "Y-You're n-not g-going t-to get... m-motion s-sick a-are you?" asked the nun, referring to the affliction that plagued Dragon Slayers. She didn't know if it also afflicted Demon Slayers, and wasn't looking forward to the trip, in either direction, if it did.

She sighed and leaned her head back against the carriage wall before looking at Cirven. "H-How're th-things w-with y-you a-and Aayla?" she asked, curious as to if the two siblings had managed to heal whatever rift lay between the two of them.

The group did not have long to wait before both pairs arrived at the destination. As soon as Kiersa step foot out of the carriage and looked upon the mansion, a strong chill went up her spine. She waited for everyone to assemble. "B-Be c-careful... i-if y-you s-see your b-breath... th-then a S-Spirit is th-there w-with you..." informed the nun from what she could recall of the church's texts on the subject.

"...I'm not scared of ghosts... I just... don't really know what they are..."
The young dragon slayer mumbled softly as she urged Zinanth to follow Mary's orders and take-off, avoiding the wrath of the kitchen staff. Aayla couldn't help but smile gently and chuckle as they flew off towards their destination.

"No one's ever told me anything about ghosts... I've never encountered one or heard anything about them... I think... I think just not knowing what they are... is what scares me the most..."
She stated as Zinnath soared high in the sky, however always kept the carriage within her view to make sure that they didn't get separated.

As they approached the castle, Aayla sucked in a deep breath before petting Zinanth's neck and motioning for her to land on one of the balconies. Carefully, the large Sea Serpent came down to rest there, lying flat on the ground to let the two girls off.

"This place is... freaky... no wonder nobody lives here... "
She said softly as she climbed off, petting zinnath's neck before motioning to her to take off into the sky again, leaving the Holy Tempest team alone to face the dangers of the castle... temporarily of course.

    "Hey... Kiersa! Cirven!"
She called out to the pair from up on the balcony, waving down to the two waiting below, making sure that they spotted the two girls.

"You guys go in from there, Mary and I will take the second floor!"
She offered, glancing back to Mary and smiling lightly before turning away from the end of the balcony, and pushing open the doors inside.

    "That's okay.. right?"

Mary simply said, "If it makes you feel better, I may be scared as well. Not because I don't know what they are, but because of the complete opposite. I do know however that your gung ho brother was going to force you to go regardless, so it was in my favor to help you by preparing the team with ample amounts of salt and tagging my weak self to this place. Either way there comes a time one needs to face their fears or it will consume them." Mary then sighed, why did she get philosophical at that moment? She was a hypocrit though, she lived in total fear of her inner demons and lust for blood. She feared it so much that she attempted to commit suicide and failed by jumping off the Guildhall. Now she was practically under house arrest by Kiersa nowadays. Something that now totally embarrased her on a daily basis. She was even surprised that she was allowed to get on the flying serpent. There was just a slight bit of depression in her voice , tone and look. This was someone that played a game of hiding her emotions behind masks and pranks.

Mary walked into the house and already whe could see the dust and cobwebs, the years/decades of neglect clearly showing in layers of dust and mice droppings. Still she pushed on without showing fear, but that was only because she had little less to lose already. There was however a loud breaking noise as her foot went through one of the floorboards. Mary sighed, "I really need to eat less doughnuts. I may be finally putting on weight." As she talked however there was a chill in the room and a cold mist formed in her breath. There was a ghost in here...

He was pretty surprised that the nun was able to move faster than him, even for the short time that she did. 'I need more training..' he thought to himself as he jumped onto the carriage. He moved his head out of the window to look up at the flying serpent and make sure that both girls were OK. With Mary's attempted suicide and Aalya's motion sickness it was as if they had accidentally put the worst two together to ride on Zinnath. He brought his head back into the carriage and forced himself to have faith that they would be fine together.

" I don't get motion sick like Dragon Slayers. Think the only negative is the dark aura. Oh, how Aalya and I? Well.. Uhh.." He recalled the time when he had spoken to Aalya and remembered how that went. "It has been better. I can at least sit down with her now alone. Not too long ago I would have had daggers shot at me from her eyes before she got up and found somewhere to be away from me." He chuckled a bit. "Hows the demon nun? I haven't really got to speak to her after what happened."

Not too long after the group found themselves in front of the castle. It must have been pretty famous for being haunted because even the driver of the carriage was in a rush to leave and kept his distance. Cirven and Kiersa had to walk some to get to the door because of the driver's fear.

OK. I'll make sure to watch for that, Kiersa. He looked up towards the two others above them. "Be careful in there! Don't get too over your head!" He sighed as he watched them walk away from view. "Hey Kiersa, do you think I forced Aalya into this job? I didn't want her to come if she felt that way." He walked through the front door of the castle with the nun and instantly felt a cold wind come around him.

ersa let out a contented sigh at the news that Aayla and Cirven were… sort of getting along at least. That was better in her eyes than the bickering they had been undergoing before now. When he asked her about Mary, she bit her lip as she tried to consider her response. “S-She’s… I d-don’t know…” sighed the nun as she lowered her head. “I j-just… I can a-almost un-understand why she tr-tried to do it… b-but at the s-same time… I just can’t understand why she tr-tried to do it… if you kn-know w-what I mean?” she asked the man, trying to wrap her own head around the circumstances. “I… I think she m-may r-resent me for… well… trying to stop her… I have to keep a careful eye on her… I don’t want her to die… Is that wrong of me? I mean… I’ve had to make sure there aren’t any sharp objects for her to c-cut herself with… t-took away the f-fittings in her room she c-could fasten her sh-sheets to…” said Kiersa before she sighed once more.

“I just d-don’t know what to do… I f-fear that n-no m-matter what I do… Mary’ll still wish to… to…” she trailed off, unable to finish the sentence. As they had arrived she looked up towards where Mary and Aayla were on Zinnath, before twisting her head sharply towards the mansion itself at the sound of a large screech. “What the-“ she began to say, just as a large ethereal wyvern emerged from the skies above the mansion, divebombing the pair on the ground. “Incoming!” yelled Kiersa, even as a spiritual troll emerged from the building and began to soar towards the pair on the Sea Serpent.

    Spoiler:

"I know... I know you're right... I just... haven't felt like this in a long time... and I don't care to be feeling it again..."
The young dragon slayer muttered softly as she followed along behind Mary carefully. It was eerily quiet, and Aayla brought her hands up around her arms, trembling lightly from the cold of the mansion. She quickly adjusted the temperature of the water in her body to warm herself up again. This place brought back bad  memories, and she would be all too happy to leave this castle and go home.

When Mary's foot finally broke through one of the wooden planks, sh reached forward to grab her but sighed when Mary easily removed her foot, joked about it and kept going. Maybe she was being too jumpy.. worrying about nothing... how scary could these ghost things really be? The room suddenly got extremely cold once more, and this time Aayla could see her breath out in front of her. She adjusted her temperature once more, but shrieked when she felt something cold and wet  lick it's way up her arm, leaving behind a thick greenish slime.

    "Ahh! What the! Aaahhh!!"
Suddenly the form or a large, almost see through Ogre was seen next to the two girls, laughing and mocking them as it stuck it's tongue out at them, and waved it's club menacingly before it started to fade. Meanwhile, Aayla was quickly blasting water on the slime to get it off of her arm.

Mary suddenly jolted her leg up as she heard the scream Aayla gave out. It caused Mary to try and jolt her leg out of the floorboard. It was then that one of the most annoying thing happened, a ghost slimed Aayla and ruined the sleeves of her top! That stain will never go away! Mary sighed, "I can design you a new top after the job is over. I should have materials in my room... And please don't tell Kiersa that I still managed to sneak needles through her thorough anti-suicide search of my room... It's already annoying enough that Kiersa is cutting up my meat, removed some of my tailoring equipment and might as well strip search me every time I leave my room. Next thing I know it, theres geoing to be pillows sewed attached to me all nights and I will be sleeping in her room like a chi-" Mary finally freed her foot from the floorboard, but only to take another step that caused her to break to the floor and right next to Kiera and Cirven. Mary face palmed yet again, she was not going to hear the end of fat jokes and the need to quit eating doughnuts after this.

She took another step, "Want to be careful, the places falling apa-." It was at that moment she fell through the first floor and landed herself alone in the basement. Now she was not going to hear the end of it! Mary's head was knocked on something as her vision was going in and out, but she swore that she could see several figures in front of her. She was too dazed to see anything properly.

Cirven's eyes widened as he saw the wyvern in front of them. He was surprised to see something like that so early. "Didn't take long for them to greet us at all and this one looks kind of cool." He said as he inspected the ethereal being more. He wasn't so scared of the ghosts really and thought that it was from being around the spirit of Inuki so much. He was practically haunted by him so it did make sense.

The wyvern moved its head back and took in a deep breath. "Hey.. Its not going to.. MOVE NUN!" He jumped towards Kiersa pushing her out of the way of the fiery flames that shot out from the mouth of the dead beast. The fire covered the entrance and left the door in flames. He then stood up and attempted to help her up. "Sorry. I didn't want that to hit us just in case. Also wasn't going to try to eat it either."

After his partner was up he decided that he shouldn't waste time with the ghost and should use his salt to get rid of it. "Kiersa, get re-" He was cut off by Mary falling through the floor upstairs and in between them and the wyvern. "Uhh.." He muttered out but again was cut off by Mary falling. "Did the doughnuts catch up with her or something..." He looked towards the hole confused while the wyvern looked towards it in a similar way.

His focus then snapped back to the wyvern and he charged at it, making sure to avoid the hole Mary left and threw out some salt towards the dead being. The wyvern dodged the salt by moving to the side and then readied itself again to fire another mass of flames at Cirven. The Demon Slayer jumped back to dodge the flames which he would do because the floor below him would fall apart and cause him to fall to the basement area where he landed on his back. He would drop some of his salt onto two of the ghosts below him as he fell and just missing the troll. "... Ugh.. Too many Godwiches..."

Kiersa stared up at the behemoth wyvern, her eyes trying to take in the sheer scale of the beast. And this was a lesser cousin of the dragons?! The nun shuddered to consider what standing in the presence of a real dragon would be like. She did however notice the flames starting to form in the ghosts maw. “I-It’s a s-spirit… i-it c-can’t h-hurt us…” she muttered under her breath before she cried out as Cirven tackled her out of the way of the incoming fire. “Wh-what w-was th-that f-for?” she asked him before spotting the door… that was on fire… Her eyes widened at the fate she had just avoided before looking back up at the wyvern.

She had the same idea as Cirven and readied herself with the salt… right before Mary crashed in from above them. The nun blinked at the sight of Mary appearing like that… right before she fell through the floor between them and the wyvern to the basement below them. Kiersa winced at the sound of the impact. “M-Maybe?” she replied in response to Cirven’s question about the doughnuts. When Cirven went on the offensive, and the wyvern dodged his salt strike, Kiersa let loose a handful of her own salt towards the spirit, watching it recoil in pain at the pure substance. She then took a hold of the iron bar that she’d borrowed from the carriage, hurling it straight through the Spirits head. The Wyvern roared as it dispersed into nothing more than smoke.

With the threat removed, the nun retrieved the iron bar and looked down the hole towards the two below, then up the hole Mary had come down from. “E-Everything alright u-up and d-down there?” she called out, sprinkling salt down through the hole to form a rough circle down below before peering once more upwards.

Whn Mary fell through the floor, Aayla leaped forward to try and catch her, just barely swiping at her hand as she fell with a large *THUNK* on the first floor. She heard words being exchanged before even that floor broke out from underneath her.

    "Are you okay?"
She began to ask before turning towards the troll ghost just in time to run away from it's incoming club.

Aayla just continued yelling as the spirit approached her. You could hear her footsteps from the upper floor, *THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP* Having a water body did wonders to alleviate and distribute her weight so that she didn't fall through the weak floor just as Mary had. However, no matter where she ran, which room she hid in, the troll spirit was close at hand, swinging its club that clanked into walls and broke down doors that she attempted to hide behind. What could she do against something like this? She could barely see it long enough to attack it! Even when she did throw a spell at it, her water passed straight through the troll spirit... when she attempted her water lock, it just walked straight through.

The young dragon slayer was shaking as she ran, having no idea what do do with the ghost chasing her, completely forgetting about the salt in her pockets.

    "Leave me alooooooooone!"
She cried out at the spirit as she bolted it up another set of stairs that led to a smaller floor just above them.

    "Kiiiieeeeeeeerrrrsssssaaaaaaaaaaa~"
She whined, not knowing who else to call out for than the nun who seemed to know what she was doing.

Post by Mary Mahoney 14th September 2014, 5:51 am

Mary was dazed ever so slightly as she tried to stand up to get her balance. She had trouble moving down the basement and stumbled to the side. Catching herself on a furniture, she noticed something of interest. They were keys made out of iron except for a single key made out of gold. At first Mary thought they would help her get to rooms of this place and pocketed them. If she ran into a locked door then shed use it. Otherwise it didn't hurt to have them right? She stumbled a bit more, her head not focusing straight as she stumbled forward and was hit in the stomach with a floating club. She was in pain and buckled over, but not out of the fight yet as she coughed blood.

She grabbed her first small pouch of salt at the troll ghost that remained and missed wide. Her eyes too dozzy as she took another club to the chest, sending her flying straight back and landing next to Cirven flat on her butt. She was in pain, but still not gone... She was not going to miraculously survive dropping from the guildhall only to die here beaten to death by ghosts. It was then that she smelled blood and that drove an instinct in her to get up. So she grabbed the next bag in her possession only to see it ripped to shreds by her claws that were growing out. Mary stammered, "No not now! I-I am losing control of it again!" The arms quickly became the familiar demonic look to it again and it caused her to hunch over in pain to stop the rest of her body to transform. She was struggling to hold it back... because it wanted blood... Fresh blood and Cirven was the closest thing nearby. Still that ghost lingered there and Mary had one pouch of salt left. Cirven would have to make his last shot count.

His landing was not soft in anyway and caused pain to shoot across his whole body. Somehow he had managed to deal with two of the ghosts around him and Mary during his fall and watched as they yelled in pain while he was on the floor. They then dispersed into the air and the room felt like it wasn't as cold. Problem was it was still cold.

Cirven would attempt to help Mary fight the troll ghost but only had a single pouch of salt left to use so he had to make it count or else they would be in trouble. He kept hesitating to throw the salt because of how the troll constantly was moving. "Damn it! Stay still you ugly, big nosed freak!" He tried to move closer in an attempt to block the club from hitting Mary but with no way of telling where the troll kept moving around to it wasn't going to go well.

"Mary!" He yelled out as the club struck her again and sent her towards him. He dropped down to a knee and started to help her but noticed her hand had changed form. Is she...? he stopped in thought as he saw the club coming towards them and lifted up his hand just in time to stop it. White flames exploded out from his hand in anger and pushed the club back and away from them where it disappeared again. "Stay here Mary.."  He stood up and pulled out the Kukan from its sheath and took in a deep breath then exhaled while his eyes were closed.

"Idea!!" He yelled out and then started to spit all over his blade. The club then appeared from out of nowhere like earlier and struck him in his side forcing a exhale of air and him to start coughing. The pain was worse because it was perfectly timed while he was too busy with his 'project'. He managed to stay standing and grabbed his last pouch of salt and poured it onto his blade using the spit as a way to keep the salt on it. The club appeared again but this time was parried by Cirven. He cut down his salted blade where he figured the ghost was and was happy to hear the moans of pain come from the troll while it dispersed.

"Take that you wort infested prick!" He then looked up to the next floor and gave a wave. "I think we are good down here but you should try to help Aalya!" He yelled. "I'll deal with Mary!" He put the Kukan back into the sheath on his side and tried to help Mary with her situation near by.

Kiersa could hear the thumping of Aayla trying to escape the Troll Spirit, and her friends cry for help. “Aayla!” she cried out, her legs falling lifeless beneath her even as her back glowed with holy light and blood, the wings of Flight taking form. Before Cirven could even suggest helping Aayla, the nun was already streaking through the hole in the floor above her and following the trail of water that showed Aayla’s attempts to use magic against the spirit. “Leave her alone!” she roared at the troll spirit that was just about to start climbing up the stairs after the Dragon Slayer. The nun’s iron pole met the ghosts ethereal club, the pure iron metal leaving a trail of smoke and fire as it seared through the spirit, before dispersing the spirit completely.

She hovered there for a moment before flying up the stairs towards Aayla. “Aayla?” she called out, using the light of her wings to illuminate the darkness of the abandoned mansion. “Aayla you here?” asked Kiersa before she found the Water Slayer. She lowered herself beside the blue haired girl and went to give her a comforting hug. “It’s okay… it’s okay… It’s gone now.” She said soothingly, trying to calm her friends nerves before planting a kiss on her forehead in the manner of the convent. “Are you alright? It didn’t get you did it?” the nun asked in concern, looking over Aayla’s body for any injuries. Normally she wouldn’t be that overly concerned given the Slayer’s unique defensive capabilities… but these were ghosts after all. One could never be too careful when it came to spiritual wounds… and the nun was determined that Aayla would never suffer such injuries again after that fight with the Dark Celestial Summoner.
