Zenshin Hitsumo V.S. The "Devil" Shinigami

Zenshin rode into the forest clearing on his companion, green eye, expecting to see his brother's guild master waiting for him. As expected, there he was, standing there, waiting to begin training. "Nice to finally meet you." he said in a louder than normal tone. "It's an honor to be able to spar with you." he said continuing in his tone, respecting Shini's well known guild master status. "Let's get to it then, shall we begin?" he ended, gesturing green eye to move into brouh at the edge of the clearing.

“You seem so familiar” He said as he gazed up in the sky. The man looked so confused, but Shinigami sensed that Zenshin was confident in winning at the same time. “Fine…we shall start this, but first…” The white-haired man looked more confused as Shinigami rotated his “sustinere” into a 360 and teleported away. “My, my…This is going to become exciting!” He thought to himself while hiding at the back of a grand tree. He looked around to see his surroundings and thought, “Hmm…Trees everywhere…Ooh Look! A big river! Perfect!”

"Guild Master Shinigami! Where are you!" he yelled out, causing an echo throughout the forest. "How'd he do that? I've never seen any kind of mage with teleportation magic before." he thought to himself. He kept walking through the brush when he reached a large body of running water. "This river seems a bit strange..." he said, thinking aloud. Zenshin proceeded to wait by the river hoping either Shinigami or someone else would show up to fight him. "Grr, I'm starting to lose my patience".

Shinigami looked at the river until he had seen the same white haired man. The white haired man sat down near the river, as he looked very bored. “This guy certainly has no patience! I’ll have to look at his magic and how he attacks as it would be an advantage!” Thought Shinigami. He walked to the river, right in front of his opponent. He planted his Sustinere on the ground and summoned his scythe. “This would be perfect to know this guy’s magic!” Shinigami thought to himself. “Come! Show me all you’ve got!” The man smiled and said, “Finally!”

"Finally." Zenshin said looking at the man and a scythe."I can't give away too much just yet. Let's start with this. he thought. Ice-Make, Heavy Sword!" he yelled out as a very dense, icy swords that resembled a scimitar appeared in his hand. It was giving off and icy fog look due to the effects of sublimation. Zenshin ran towards Shinigami and attempted for a slash to his leg while sliding past him.

As Shinigami’s opponent attempted to strike him in the leg with his ice fog he just summoned, Shinigami jumped up on the ground, turned his scythe into a semi circle and ultimately destroyed the sword. At that moment, he thought to himself, “I’m impressed with your magic. It’s very strong and very unique!” Since he was still airborne, he made some hand movements and shouted, “SkySplitter!!” A magical circle appeared at the back of the opponent, and summoned a tornado trying to deal damage to him.

Zenshin looked up at the hurricane and quickly tried jumping out of its path.

He failed and was now being torn up by a hurricane. "Nrg.... Ice-Make, Giant Tortoise!" he was able to call out. A giant, dense, icy tortoise was summoned onto Zenshin to defend him from the hurricane. As he was sitting inside his tortoise, he was resting from the large cut on his back that he had just frozen a moment ago. He was also recharging from the heavy use of magic for his tortoise. "That was too close. I'm dealing with quite a powerful guildmaster. He wasn't kidding. But at this rate, he's going to use up half of his magic before I even crack at mine." he told himself.

Shinigami appeared to be affected by the spell too. As he was airborne he fell down and glided on the ground. He then took the blunt side of his scythe and stabbed it against the ground causing some friction. He rolled on his back, and kneeled. Seeing the opponent summoning an Ice Turtle, Shinigami was dumbfounded. “I’m so stupid… I’ll just have to wait for my opponent’s move then.” he thought to himself.

Zenshin was able to stand and didn't lose too much blood from the wound on his back as it was only a flesh wound. He balanced himself with his hands and got to his feet, staring at the now downed guild master. Like expected, the guild master didn't warm up and casted a highly-ranked spell right off the bat. Zenshin found this as an opening and gradually started to ice his foot and jog faster and faster towards Shinigami. Now in a well paced run, Zenshin felt his foot was just about frozen solid and attempted to punt Shinigami to a nearby tree. In succession, he yelled out "Ice-Make, Pillar." while moving his arm up, looking like he was "dragging out" the pillar from the ground.

Shinigami was flying back by his opponent’s kick, as he felt against some sort of ice. He then stood up as blood was pouring out of his forehead. He looked up at the sky when he saw what looked like a tall pillar made out of ice. “Wait! My sustinere’s planted on the ground!” He made hand movements and said, “Zap!” Before the opponent could do another attack, Shinigami ran as fast as he could; made his scythe disappear and grabbed his main staff. “Now you shall regret to what you’ve done!” He said emotionlessly.

Zenshin was surprised that his opponent was moving at high speeds with just one spell. He was not intimidated by the threat made by his opponent, however it did seem like he was getting a bit more serious. This was a mistake on Shinigami's part though, his enormous tortoise summoned earlier was still there and Zenshin quickly jogged up to it. He laid his left hand upon his tortoise and softly apologized to it. "Disperse!" he yelled out. As soon as he ended the phrase the enormous tortoise immediately turned into a giant puddle that covered most of the clearing. Run at me!" he yelled out to bait Shinigami into using high speed on the wet terrain.

As Shinigami looked at the puddle of water, he waited for a while. Hearing his opponent saying, “Come and get me!” made Shinigami very mad. “Does he think I’m stupid?” he thought to himself. He spoke to his opponent without emotions, “I’m not stupid, you know!” He grabbed his main staff, turned it into a 360 and teleported again. He teleported at the back of his opponent, planted his sustinere on earth, made hand movements and said in a smooth voice, “Death, death!”

Zenshin noticed that his baiting had worked at the fact that his opponent got infuriated at the taunt. His opponent span one of his staves in a circle like he did at the beginning of their fight, so Zenshin knew he was about to teleport. Looking left, right, and up, he didn't see anything. There was only one more possibility he could have teleported, behind. His hand reached out behind him and touched what seemed like a chest, it was Shinigami. Although he had found his opponent, it was too late. He heard the words to a spell, "Death, death" and everything suddenly went dark. He saw a dark room and his brother in the distance. Zenshin saw his brother running towards him, when suddenly, a beam had gone through his head. He fell dead with Zenshin running towards him when he realized, this wasn't real, it was a spell. He concentrated a lot of magic to escape and the illusion disappeared. Back in the battleground, he turned his head towards his opponent and realized his hand was still on him. "Slim frost" he thought, and a second later, a stream of small ninja stars came out of the hand grabbing Shinigami.

As his opponent was caught in his illusion, Shinigami realized that his opponent will be “awake”, he casted a spell called Copycat, and teleported away. The opponent woke up, feeling the duplicate as if it’s real, and grabbed him. “I can’t believe he bought it.” Said the real Shinigami as he was hiding behind a magnificent tree. He watched his opponent grabbing his duplicate and making his hands into small ninja stars. “What a perfect oppurtuninity!” He casted Utito Tempo, in which gained his attacks up, teleported to near the two of them, planted his main staff, made some really fast hand movements, and said,“Zero Spell!” During the time, the opponent looked at Shinigami and was confused. Seeing that the opponent lost some of his magical energy, Shinigami said, “You're sure strong!”

Zenshin turned around seeing that his opponent was about to teleport like he did when they first met in the clearing. He looked left. right and above, but no luck. Turning around was the only thing left when he heard "Zero spell". Zen moved is arm down and the stream pushed him forward to get out of the attack's area of effect. He iced his feet to get a bit more distance with his 'skates'. Spinning around, he pointed his hands towards the real Shinigami and a barrage of icy cold ninja stars started to shoot out towards him, leaving an icy fog in their wake.

Shinigami looked at the ninja stars as it was aiming for him. Shinigami stabbed his main staff and summoned his scythe, resulting in destroying all of the ninja stars easily. “How fragile…It looks like the best weapon I can use is this…” Shinigami thought to himself. His duplicate was still there, looking shocked as ever. “Disappear!” Said Shinigami to his duplicate as his duplicate disappeared in a puff of smoke. He ran to the opponent, and tried to strike him with several attempts, but when he dodged all of the attacks, Shinigami suddenly kicked aiming for the opponent’s chest.

Zen saw that Shinigami was getting a bit desperate to land an attack on him. He saw that he destroyed all of his ninja stars almost instantaneously, as expected by a man of his rank. Unfortunately for "The Devil", Zen had the advantage, he had wet the floor and put his 'skates' on. Shinigami came in with several strikes, but Zen was able to out maneuver them. Suddenly, his opponent went in for a kick on his chest. Zen leaned back while doing a painful, but necessary split to dodge the attack. He was now under Shinigami when he grabbed the leg that wasn't kicking and summoned a large magical circle around them. Zen had Shinigami and wasn't planning on dragging on the fight. "Ice-Make, Ice Jaws!" he yelled out as a giant pair of cold, sharp, jaws were on both sides of Shinigami. "Clamp!" he said as the to giant jaws started to close in on Shini.

“Hmm…It seems as though I’m being stupid again. No matter, I will have to break my scythe in order to protect myself.” As the jaws began to clump, Shinigami moved his scythe swiftly into an 180 like and broke the scythe. Unfortunately, the block failed, and so Shinigami was affected to it. “Ouch…So cold!” he collapsed on the ground not feeling his legs and thought with a smile on his face. “It looks like I have been too easy on this guy. Unfortunately for him, I have more spells to uncover.” Shinigami looked at his enemy’s face as he panted with sweat all over his face. Collapsed on the ground, Shinigami began to make hand movements and said, “Blue Pegasus: Blue Hippocrene!” A blue Pegasus appeared as it flew all over the sky and landed on earth as he gave a blue spring that appeared at the ground of Shinigami’s. Feeling no pain whatsoever, Shinigami stood up, energized. Shinigami then ran to his main staff, planted all 4 of his remaining staffs, made some hand movements, and said, “Poseidon’s dragons!” All of the water floated up and made the shape of a dragon. The dragon then targeted the tired opponent, and started to strike head on.

Zen rolled on the grass and got up. "Was that... a Pegasus!" he exclaimed in surprise. He then saw Shinigami summoning for dragons that appeared to be made of water. He just keeps making mistakes, doesn't he realize how cold my ice is?" Zenshin thought to himself, very confused. Zenshin waited for the dragons to get close enough and created a large magical circle around him that was colored cyan. The ground under them began to rumble violently as five giant, dense, sublimating pillars shot out of the ground to meet his dragons halfway. Four of them twisted and turned to match the dragons positioning while the final one shot Zenshin high up into the air. As soon at the pillars made contact, they started to freeze the dragon slowly, but surely. Zen needed to replenish his magic soon, but he had enough for one more, C spell. While in the air, he span and at the same time called out "Ice-Make, Heavy Sword"! An abnormally big scimitar was created and Zen grabbed it. He flipped forward in the air while bringing the sword down onto Shini. "This is getting interesting, your powerful!" he yelled out to "The Devil" right before getting in range.

As Shinigami looked up to see the opponent up in the air, Shinigami smiled. “I sure make tons of mistakes!” He said to himself. He tapped the ground twice with his two primary fingers and said, “Earth Wall!” as he summoned a huge tall wall made out of earth. “My magic energy must be really high as I could summon a wall so tall!” he said, as the wall acted like a separator. Shinigami then made hand movements, as the wall joined back to it’s homeland. “Heaven Style: Shinigami.” He said with blood pouring from his mouth, as he smiled. “Good match!”

Zenshin came down with the intent to kill but was caught in Shini's most powerful illusion magic. He was facing Shinigami, both of them on a cross looking towards each other. Suddenly, the reaper of death himself came down from the black sky above and drove a dark beam into both of them. Even though it was an illusion, Zen could feel the agonizing pain of the beam and even started to cough up blood in the reality. Zenshin felt he had no other choice if he wanted to win, and he just couldn't lose. "I can't lose... I just can't!Benumb,....Dark-Ice!" he called out and his body started to get covered in dark ice that made all the apace around him opaque. It took a lot of power but he was able to break free of his illusion, but Zenshin was left with half the magic power he normally would've had when activating Benumb. He stared at Shinigami in the eyes "Time to get serious!" he yelled out to him in an enraged voice.

Shin-Shin walked into the intense battle aimlessly. He didn't care for fighting much, but they were interupting his nap time. "Excuse me, but can you guys shut up? Im trying to sleep." Shin-Shin pointed over to a little nook beyond the treeline. He also had some insight, "Strong spells aren't everything, it is how you use them. That is why a cocky S Rank can get beaten by a lowly B Rank any day of the week." His shirt was off and his Lamia Scale guild tattoo could be spotted on his chest with ease. He stood up straight, "I am going to fight for everyone's right to nap in the forest during day time."

Zen got up off the ground and savored his new power acquired, however, the Benumb was corrupting his sense of righteousness.Zenshin ignored it and moved with extreme speed behind Shin-Shin. "So you want a fight"Zen whispered deviously as he put his hand very close to Shin-Shin's back. "Then it's a fight you'll get." he finished as a small cloud of icy fog covered his right hand and in an instant, a stream of tine, dark ninja stars were shot out of Zenshin's palm at an extreme speed due to the new acquired 'form' of his.
