Post by Archon 22nd February 2020, 5:39 am

A harrowing scream split the serenity of the night air as an innocent young woman desperately tried to hold on. But without avail, there was nothing to grab besides the cold pavement of the street itself. Slowly but forceful she got pulled in, frenzied she tried to claw forwards, ignoring the fact that her nails made a painful sound as they scraped against the stone. As she drew closer, she could smell the putrid stench of death getting stronger, and just like looking down when up high, the girl couldn’t help herself but look back. What she saw was a horrid sight, starting with a large claw wrapped around and plunged deep into her leg. But it wasn’t the claws that got her even more hysterical, but rather what was attached to the other end and surprisingly close already. From around the corner, a monstrosity of head stared back at her, its crimson eyes widened an ecstatic and most frightening the large maw. The creature panted, you see it as its breath became visible in the cold night air, it was almost as if it was enjoying itself, that the very idea of sinking its teeth into squishy flesh made every fiber of its body tremble with excitement.

Before she knew it, it was over. One second she fighting desperately but futile for her life, the next she was hanging upside down and stared directly into the endless abyss what was its mouth. She couldn’t even speak anymore, plead for her life or scream for help, incomprehensible fear had completely shutdown any survivor instinct whatsoever. Then, it was all over, the giant mouth she was looking into struck and whoever the girl is, was no more.
Its bite was so strong, its teeth sunk so deep, that it shredded her body into pieces almost instantly. Satisfied the creature closed his eyes, as it could feel the blood and guts drool down from its maw, however it was only temporary the moment he finished gulping down any lingering remains the hunger struck again. This one tiny human wasn’t nearly enough.

As to answer to his prayer he could hear his next meal closing in. A small group made his way to the small corner alleyway it was in. They shouted that they heard screams again, that the killer has struck once more. It knew these men, he had seen them before. They were armed and suddenly appeared after it ate for the third time this week. What a feast that was, trapped and nowhere to go. Truly this new breeding ground the humans created was beyond marvelous. They never gathered in such numbers before his slumber, nor did they create such perfect hunting environments. Sure there were a lot of things it found confusing or strange, but one thing stayed the same. He was the apex hunter and they were nothing but prey.
As the shouting drew closer, the creature retreated back into the shadows, and waiting for his next opportunity, after all the night was still young and he was still hungry.

Janet and a few of her Associates would be in a city walking around observing the potential prospects of the city seeing if they can get something out of this for their next advancement into the world. However the city didn't seem to provide much Prospect other than it wasn't very heavily defended basic guards nothing special.  However today's Mission wasn't anything special myself it was just some Recon see what they can do in the future. Thinking of this trip was a little bit more than a waste of time Janet you a little more upset with herself, though as she would walk through the streets to tell me perk up getting a scent of something she had to come all too familiar with over the coming months especially since starting the Guild up...the scent of fresh blood.  Since this seems to be the most interesting thing to happen so far she decided to head towards the scent and look into it herself perhaps this will get more interesting after all.

As Janet would eventually find the alley where they selling said they can finish she would walk into it rather carelessly looking around then she lowered her hood showing off her draconic features. However all the cell with a bunch of mangled corpses that tried desperately to fight for life but failed. She would raise her driving fall to her mouth and look around not in disgust however, it was more in extreme curiosity as you would go over the one of the mangled Corpses "Oh my...what happened here?" She mumbled to herself as she would pick at one of the corpses turning it over here to see it having been torn apart and devoured.  She would then look up into the darkness of the alleyway scent in what she could only describe as a hungering presence. She would walk past the mangled corpses. "Hello...s someone there...come out I won't hurt you…" he would say in a bit of a meek tone not lowering her gaurd but wanting to seem a bit more vulnerable to try to draw whatever did this out.

I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.

Aeron walked along with Janet in her usual fashion, with her hands shoved in her pockets and a scowl on her face, the perfect picture of a woman that was not even a little approachable. It probably wasn’t the best look for someone that was supposed to be helping recruit people. Still, the fact that she was even here and going along with the little excursion -- and not complaining about it -- was progress the likes of which no one would ever truly appreciate. At first Aeron had been livid when she discovered that Thana had signed them onto a guild. The last thing the paranoid woman wanted was to be tied down to some place with a bunch of strangers constantly monitoring her.

...but she had to admit, being part of a guild had its perks. Aeron wasn’t entirely sure yet how much she trusted Janet and the others to help protect her, but it was nice having a roof over her head and not worrying about when her next meal would be. She had her own space in the guildhall that she could retreat to and secure at her leisure. In fact, she was actually able to sleep through the night without worrying too much about her safety. So here she was, willingly fulfilling her duties as an Ace by patrolling around with Janet to search for potential new members.

And of course, they came across a slew of dead bodies. By the looks of how they’d been mangled, Aeron’s first thought was that this was probably Thana’s handiwork. The sociopath had been conspicuously absent that night, stating that Aeron should use the time to get to know Janet, but it would be just like Thana to use that as an excuse to go on a murder spree.

    This was not Thana.

The voice in her head sounded about as curious as Janet looked. Aeron stood watch while her guildmaster inspected the scene, her cerulean eyes darting nervously around the place. She didn’t like standing out in the open in the middle of a killing ground. And how exactly would you know that?

Of course, Aeron knew well enough by now that Darius, the mage whose soul resided in the pendant around her neck, was practically omniscient. That being said, Aeron didn’t enjoy having the voice of some weird dude commenting on her thoughts and invading her head, and Thana refused to get rid of him, so Aeron satisfied her annoying by sassing him at every turn. This was the work of a beast more akin to a werewolf, which is a transformation that Thana does not possess.

A werewolf? Aeron gulped to herself, and tuned back into the situation right when Janet started calling out for the thing. A slew of curses went through her mind as Aeron questioned the sanity of any person that would willingly try to draw the attention of a rabid monster. Her instinct was to run, but since that wasn’t an option she slinked into the shadows and seemed to disappear completely. Aeron wasn’t going to play bait, but she could at least try to keep an eye out and hopefully prevent Janet from being mauled.
Please forgive me if I don’t talk much at times. It’s loud enough in my head.

"You aren't making a very good impression, I have to say," Atsuai's voice chimed in a sing-songy way.

"Should you really expect much else from the dunce?" Arnaluuk bitterly responded.

Atsuai smiled. "Perhaps, but I have not been here as long as you have."

Atsuai was an intriguing new member to the group, to say the least. The archer was much different from Sweetie and Arnaluuk, let alone Noel, Scorpio, and Sir Pudley, or the non-humanoid Lupa, who the duo of bickering ladies rode upon. Odhran was less concerned about that at this point, however. Janet and Aeron had made their way towards Lavanitir, hearing rumors of a new potential recruit to the guild, and they wanted to bring the Celestial Spirit Wizard along, though they did not fully explain why. Aeron was the ace, and Janet was the guild master, so why would Odhran come along? Perhaps it was his shining chance at a promotion to Ace status, he thought, welling up with pride and already practicing his acceptance speech. Sadly, at some point, Odhran had lost the duo of higher-ups, and now he had to find them. Fluttering his wings, the creations of his Ark of Embodiment, he scanned the city, unaware of how suspicious he looked. Lupa followed suit, panting and wagging her tail, causing a light brush of wind to pass by. It was then that Odhran noticed the alleyway where Janet had been. Aeron was nowhere to be found, but across from Janet was a large creature, wolf-like in appearance.

"It seems as if we've found our target! Lupa! Looks as if you have a new friend to play with!" Odhran announced this as he flew into the alley, one of his wings clipping the side of a building as he tumbled to land in between Janet and the wolf-like being. Lupa let Atsuai and Arnaluuk get down onto the ground themselves before she rolled onto the ground, trying her best to emulate her Keybearer.

    Lupa barked.

"That is a big boy, Lupa!" Odhran agreed. "I bet he likes treats, don't'cha?" He outstretched a hand as a bag of Dog-E-Bites appeared in it. He had become accustomed to summoning the treats because of Lupa's voracious appetite, and it seemed as though they would have another use yet. Taking one of the treats out of the bag, he tossed it Lupa's way, and she caught it in her mouth, wagging her tail and summoning forth a small tornado with the speed of the wagging.

    Lupa barked.

"I did see that, Lupa! Oh, you're such a good girl, aren't you? You're the best!" Returning from his babying voice, he turned his attention to the larger wolf creature in front of him. "Do you want one of these? They're probably not as good human flesh, but Lupa at least loves these treats! Tell 'em, Lupa!"

    Lupa barked, wagging her tail.

As this chaos was happening, Atsuai turned to Janet and bowed quickly. "It's a pleasure to meet you, I don't believe we've met. My name is Atsuai, and I'm Odhran's most recent gift from the Celestial Spirit King. Arnaluuk tells me that you are the Guildmaster of Odhran's guild? I do hope we'll be good friends."

Atsuai bowed once more as Arnaluuk rolled her eyes. "Cut out the act. Just show us your true personality."

Atsuai tilted her head cutesy-like as she said, "Why, whatever do you mean? I'm just here to bring love to the world, and to protect Odhran." She giggled as she turned her head to see the reactions that would be given towards Odhran and his saga of the Dog-E-Bites.

The meager humans who came rallying into the alleyway were ill-prepared against the creature they'd encountered. In a bloodied frenzy the beast would descend upon its prey and sley the men in only a few seconds. However, before he could continue his feast of gore he sensed new people approaching the vicinity, which only meant one thing for the grotesque monster, more flesh. Quickly he retreated back into the darkness of the alleyway, carefully abiding its time and watch whoever dared to approach his death trap now.

Curious enough the people who dared to enter his temporary domain wasn't any more soldiers nor did they carry any weapons of the sorts. Instead, two new females approached the mangled corpses in the middle of the street. For the creature, two females meant only one thing; lambs to the slaughter. He only knew those as easy prey, not unlike their male counterpart who were often armed.
One of them called out for him, while the other disappeared, he'd hunt her down later, for now, it was time to claim his snack.

'I hunger!!!' he bellowed through the alley right before he sprinted out of the darkness. His body was so large that it just barely fit between the walls. In fact, as he homed in on his prey, some of the bricks broke out of the wall from the sheer force the creature used to attack the strange girl. However, the moment he was about to open his jaw and rip one of her arms straight off, he suddenly stopped in his tracks as another strange man, woman, and critter suddenly appeared right between him and his prey. Confused the creature stared at the scene unfolding in front of him, never before had this happened, not only did the girl from before hold her ground but now more strangers had appeared.
The creature tilted his head a bit, trying to cope with whatever was going on, normally people would run away or scream in terror at least. These fleshies would just stand around... as if he wasn't even there.

The buy had stretched out his arm and unfolded his hand, in which he revealed some small kind of food. The like of which he had never seen, the small critter, on the other hand, barked in excitement. For a moment, the beast looked at the boy, then at his hand again, then again back to the boy. All while his claws started to crush the pavement underneath it. It didn't know what was going on, why wasn't the prey running away? Why was it behaving differently!

'I Swallow whole!' The creature couldn't comprehend what was happening and instead, it responded angrily with a loud but scraping voice. Right before he started to tower over the boy and open its giant maw only to dive headfirst towards the boy.

Janet would look in awe rather then fear. What a fascinating looking creature, it was no wonder these bodies was so mangled up, these fools never had a chance. Though as the beast stood there assessing its current situation but before she could speak she saw it looking past her. To her confusion it looked past her as her guild mate Ohdran was beckoning it with what appeared to be a dog….treat…. Janet paused as she couldn't help but think what would draw him to do this right now not noticing the spirit talking as her concern grew for him ashe other eye went gold and under her cloak her arm grew scales as it crept up ger body. Then it bellowed out it would swallow him whole as it was suddenly past her over him...the speed enough to impress...normally but Janet now was in a protective mode as suddenly her wings sprouted out and shadows enveloped her making her vanish before the spirit in a haste, while he could probably defend himself..she wasn't having any of it. Now almost a full dragon she would appear between them with the shadow he made as he loomed over him and with a burst of speed flew straight up at the beast her claw forward she would either uppercut him with her claw and send him back or make him back off...but that wasn't enough Janet was now upset. Janet floated in the air for a second as she started to change.

Janet's silhouette would start to encompass the light of the moon as it started to grow, her horns grows double there size, her teeth doing the same becoming sharper and longer like daggers as she grew to about six meters tall her wings growing out double that as she turned into the a Full Black Dragon. She would notice there was no way to fit into the alleyway without mass destruction to the surrounding area. As she would sent a gust of wind as she flapped her wings once before landing on a building adjacent from Aeron. As she landed there was a small quake not enough to knock people off there feet though as she dug her claw into the corner of the building. She looked in the alley and took a breath before realising her Dragon Roar to impose fear into those around her but mainly the hunter who tried to make a meal of her guild mate. She would breath heavily after looking over to Aeron nodding and then to Ohdran nodding again, this is the first she has taken this form around her guildmates and she wanted them to know they were safe. He then looked at the Hunter leaning her head into the alley abit. As she went to speak black and green poison and shadow streams crept out" Okay hunter...let's try this again….shall we?" Her voice while sounding like her still, just more breathy and beast like.

"My name is Janet Cinderfeild..Dragon Queen and Warlord of Fiore...What do you call yourself hunter and what are you….and this time don't attack my family...or you will be like the corpses you made…" spoke as she leaned in a little closer wanting to make sure you got it scent in it looking him up and down still feeling him as a more fascinating feature than a hostile one she just want to show at this moment that she was in charge...or the Alpha in this case. She would then wait for the hunter to answer hopping her guildmates didn't think less of her now.

I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.
    Spell used: Drider Belly
“Is everyone in this guild insane?!” Aeron asked herself, somehow managing to both shriek and whisper at the same time. It was bad enough that Janet had thought it prudent to coax out a monster. Then the other guy came back -- she couldn’t remember his name at the moment -- with his entourage of bizarre spirits and actually shook a bag of treats at the thing like it was a gods damned puppy.

It was that exact moment that Aeron convinced herself this guild, for all its securities, was eventually going to be the death of her. “'I signed us up for a guild,' she said,” Aeron continued to mutter to herself in a hushed, mocking tone, her fury at Thana rising in that moment. “'It will be fun,' she said. 'You’ll be safe there,' she said. Why do I ever listen to that infuriating woman?”

By the time she’d finished ranting to herself, she’d managed to work her way through the shadows around the buildings to flank the giant wolf thing. The creature was gigantic and absolutely grotesque with its ribs poking out of its chest into the open air. It was confused by the approaches of Janet and Odhran, enough that it hadn’t seemed to notice Aeron sneaking around behind.

Of course the confusion only served to piss it off and she could only watch as it leapt past Janet and tried to take a bite out of the other mage. As quick as Aeron was, Janet was faster. She pierced the sky and changed into the form and size of a dragon, paralyzing the brunette where she stood. “Great. She’s actually a dragon.” Tonight was just not Aeron’s night. Her survival instincts were kicking her hard, screaming for her to use the chaos as a distraction and get the fuck out of dodge. For once, her reason won out and she stayed put.

While Janet spoke to the beast, which was terrifyingly capable of speech, Aeron worked on a transformation of her own. The shadows continued to cover her as her lower body silently morphed and grew, taking on the form of a large, black spider. Where a spider’s head normally would be, however, Aeron’s upper torso remained, giving her the nightmarish form of a creature that was half spider, half human.

From the nod the dragon gave her, Aeron knew that her guildmaster had kept track of her location as she’d moved, but for now she stayed hidden where she was. It was obvious that Janet intended to recruit this beast for reasons Aeron would probably never understand, and she knew that revealing herself behind the creature would make it feel cornered. So instead, she opted to wait to see how it responded to Janet, or for Janet to make any sort of indication that she wanted Aeron’s help. All it would take is a well aimed spray from her spinnerette and the beast would be wrapped up in a thick cocoon of webbing...

To say Odhran was surprised by the sudden attack by the wolf in front of him would be an understatement, let alone Janet's transformation into a dragon. He turned to see that Atsuai and Arnaluuk were ready to fight, and Lupa seemed to be on edge as well.

"I don't see what all the commotion is about," Odhran shrugged. "You, ya fluffy boi you...you're just angry that you haven't tried the Dog-E-Bites yet, ain't'cha? Here, let's try this..." Saying this, he took the treat that was in his hand and tossed it towards the big wolf, though it was snatched out of the air by Lupa before it reached the other. "No! No, Lupa! This treat is for the other fluffy guy here. Don't worry, I got some other snacks for you later, so just be a good girl for now."

    Lupa barked.

Odhran smiled, taking another two Dog-E-Bites out of the bag and tossing them at the wolf again before continuing without even paying attention to whether or not it would catch them. He took a closer look around the alleyway. There were corpses strewn about everywhere, most of them eviscerated beyond recognition.

"Did you do this work? It's honestly pretty impressive. Guess that's what happens when you're as big and beefy of a doggy as you." As he said this, he found that he honestly could not see much of the alleyway due to his Guildmaster's size. Thinking quickly, he let Hallow's Phantom come to light for a moment, firing out some of its eye lasers at a low power to illuminate the alleyway slightly more. Sure enough, they were very dead and very eaten. He kept his Ethereal Projection on standby in the case of an emergency, though he let the lasers die down. "Anyways, you should be a good doggy and behave, or else Janet's gonna eat ya." He tilted his head, extending his arm with the Ark of Embodiment to lightly tap the wolf on the nose. "My name is Odhran Aegisbane. I'm not as strong as Janet or Aeron, but I'm still the greatest Celestial Spirit Wizard in the entire world, if you ask me. You've met Lupa - say hi, Lupa!"

    Lupa barked.

"Behind me, I've got Arnaluuk and Atsuai, the two ladies of great renown."

"What the hell are you doing?"

"It's a pleasure to meet you."

"And I don't have them summoned, but I've also got Noel and Scorpio and Sir Pudley and Sweetie..." Odhran snapped his fingers. "Oh! Sweetie!" He quickly rummaged Sweetie's key out from his pockets, summoning forth the candy mistress. "I think this poor lost puppy is hungry. I tried feeding him some Dog-E-Bites, but..."

Sweetie giggled. "Got it, boss! I'll make sure this doggy is nice and sweetened up!"

She skipped over to the wolf, petting his fur with one hand as she lifted an orb of hard candy in another, whispering softly, though not really saying anything. Odhran smugly held his head high at his work while Arnaluuk bashed him with her trident.

    "What are you doing, idiot!"

Atsuai giggled. "I think it's rather amusing."

Odhran laughed. "See, Atsuai gets it! Now, let's see how this little puppy reacts..."

Warlord? Fiore? Never had he heard of such words nor had he any idea what they could mean, to him the language he heard was as alien as the current landscape itself. However, Janet's transformation was a surprising recognizable sight, this fleshie it was one of the sky lizards.

This world sure was strange, not only did his food source gathered in stone hunting grounds, but they also carried weapons stronger than spears, and now they were able to transform into beasts themselves. And the other seemed to poof out new strange creatures out of nowhere. Surely it wasn't like he remembered. A world where the forest would go on endlessly, a time when the humans shivered in fear, hiding in their tents when the dragons were nothing more but fledgling lizards that just took to the sky. Oh how he and his primordial kin had ruled in this world.

The dragon lady demanded his name, but he didn't have one. He was not born or raised as the fleshies, there was no maternal being that blessed him with a title. No, he had just came to be and the eternal hunt started.
He stared at the dragon, ignoring the strange creature that softly petted him and the weird human that keeps toying strange food at him.
He could feel it, the power of this dragon. It was mighty, stronger than in the past, stronger than he was right now... He had to abide for now, so where the rules among the primordial beasts.

But what to call himself, he never carried a name, not that he needed one. But then he remembered something, in the past, there was a moment some human tribes offered a tribute to him. Young, flavored meat for him to hunt and in return he'd leave their makeshift settlements alone. Those humans, they called him....

'Archon...' it said with a tone so scraping it could only hurt your throat. 'Archon was there when you are inklings when dragon was prey... Archon is primordial.' It was not so much a race as humans and dragons were, but something older then that, Archon could only be categorized with a group beings not affiliated to any known creature. They were the Primordials, beings that came to be with the world, not taking one shape and be with many. But only one individual form coming. Some were as big as a mountain, others took to the sea or other elements, while some like Archon became more primal and stuck to the shadows.

His eyes shifted from the dragon to the rambling young man and his many oddities. Both waited, probably trying to predict his next move. Which Archon itself didn't even know, the only thing he did know was that he had drawn the short straw in this situation. But he couldn't resist the hunger any longer, it started to overtake Archon as it clawed at him from the inside. His shot towards the young man again, ignoring everything else, ready to eat either him or any of the many strange things he had called forth.
