Plant Collecting Tradition (Job, Solo)

Samira once again found herself standing within the boundaries of Beanstalk Village. Major repairs had been done since her last visit, that being during a monster invasion that ended up leading to the entire destruction of the village. Its people were saved back then though, and they had shown much resistance and perseverance to the point that after some time their home looked nearly exactly the same way it did before that unfortunate event. However, the Saint's current visit was not to check up on the re-building status, although that was certainly a plus that brought some relief with its outstanding progress. Her reason for being there was a bit different.

A type of weed had been spotted growing in several locations throughout the land the village was built upon. A dangerous type judging from the gossips she had overheard and of the job information she had been given. Yes, Samira had returned to the village for a job. A very simple one. All that was required of her was to gather some samples for a researcher that took up residency within the village and wipe out any of the plants she came across as a precaution.

"So, uh, not that I'm complaining, but... why are we picking plants again? Was there seriously nothing more... our level to do?" The spirit of Agni inquired after trying to pick up a plant but burning it entirely instead before he could even touch it. It worked for elimination but was hardly effective with acquiring samples of any kind. He had wanted to help and so volunteered, but he was beginning to realize a fire based spirit helping with flower picking was a bit dumb. Especially when it came to weak normal plants. His tolerance for the normally simple task was starting to disintegrate.

"Possibly," Samira answered, more focused on a small purple plant in the ground instead of any of the spirits she had set out to destroy plants around the village or pick some samples. She reached out with a gloved hand and snapped it out of the earth before bringing it closer to her face and analyzing the appearance details of the weed. "I did not look at the job board thoroughly. I saw this one and accepted."

A gust of wind blew through the area, although both Samira and Agni paid no attention to it. The strong breeze was just the spirit of Susano returning from his round throughout the village. That appearance was enough to make the fire spirit groan and sigh, for he knew the wind based one was probably going to complain way more than he ever would. Susano heard that groan and threw the basket of plant samples at Agni with enough force to knock him down. The plant leaves flew out of the basket, and as they fell downward became nothing more than small dust partciles as Agni's natural heat burned them. Not that the wind spirit cared about that result. He had already forgotten about it and focused on Samira instead. "Yeah, what the hell is up with these plant collecting quests?! You did a job like this after signing up to be in a guild that fights monsters. Then you do another one once that guild based itself in Pandora. Now you're doing it again after joining another guild that has absolutely nothing to do with plants! Is this some kind of weird tradition? Anytime you enter a new guild hall you have to take the first plant collecting job you see?"

By that point Samira looked over to see the samples that had been collected burn into a crisp. Not exactly a horrible thing since there were a couple of other spirits gathering some, but still an annoyance nonetheless. Samira stood up, small plant still in hand, and walked the steps necessary to be within enough distance to poke Susano with the leaves. That caused the spirit to flinch and back up. Although, it was likely more that he was surprised by Samira actually doing that, that caused such a reaction than the pain itself. "DID YOU JUST POKE ME WITH THAT THING?!"

Samira ignored the question and held up the plant to her eyes again. "So this plant harms you as well. Not just people. Interesting to know. I should keep a sample for my own studies as well." She brought the plant back down and turned away, walking over to a small bag she left sitting on the ground nearby. "As for this job, there is nothing wrong with taking a simple request and completing it. People were needed, and if these plants were left to be ignored there would be a lot more problems than a simple poke of a leaf. I do not think the job I chose to be my first within Sabertooth was a bad one. We can leave the world ending jobs for someone else to do for today." Samira placed the small plant into a container for herself to keep and slipped it inside the bag. "Lets go check in on the others and find the herbalist. We should be just about done here."

And so they were. The others had cleared the village of what weeds they could find and had gathered a sufficient amount of each type to be given to the client as samples. Job complete.
