Motor City Trouble! (Haru-senpai/A-rank Exam)

Haru Reyold's examination drew near, and Ezra had always found the boy a challenging one. More than that, such a young man rose in rank so quickly! He could clearly recall giving this boy an exam just a few weeks ago. Ezra himself needed to make the time to take his own examination for S-class, but the reserved and collected Haru was only a tier below him in this case. The thought made him smile. Was he getting too old to be so active like Haru? The boy's youth made him feel especially old himself and found it almost humbling. Still, Ezra found Haru's energy both captivating and motivating, even if he was a pest of pests.

For Haru's previous exam, he did a forest investigation (which Ezra had heard went swimmingly) and figured something a tad tougher was due for him. While shuffling through papers like a stack of playing cards, Ezra's violet eyes catch sight of a request perfect for the dramatic Haru! Ezra's lips would quirk up into a weary smile as he plucked the stacked documents from the desk, pressed his reading spectacles further up the bridge of his oily nose, and ambled out of his office with a piece of straw tucked between his teeth.

With eyes darting left and right, he shouted over the balcony, "Ayeee! If any of y'all see the kid, tell'im to pick up this document and finish it by today! And If he doesn't, also tell'im I'ma kick his ass myself!" Ezra gnawed the butt of the straw, walking back over to the board right next to his office. The board was much like the board on the ground floor, except the documents on it were posted by higher-ups like himself. He grabbed a red push pin and pinned the document to the board, nodding in some sort of accomplishment and made way back into his office

The Request:

In short, go to Motor City and help the Rune Knights interrogate the suspects of the crime. Your exam must uncover what has happened to the jewel and who the associates of the crime are but aren't required to be recovered. You may spawn enemies and plot as you see fit. Good luck!

Haru read the Examination Request in his hand. It was that time already? He was really ready to e an A-class mage. Wow. In his head, he'd thought that he was already S-class. But he knew that wasn't the case. With a little more hard work and dedication however; he'd achieve his dream of becoming an S-class mage; just like his grandfather. As he read the request, it seemed he was getting involved in a bank robbery. Well; the aftermath of one anyway.

"Really....the Rune Knights haven't tortured the information out of these guys by now?" as he lowered the Exam Request he would rub his forehead. "Getting involved in official police business...." as he thought about this the more uneasy he got. There was no telling if he'd make it out of this without being arrested himself. With a sweatdrop comically appearing over his head for a moment, Haru felt extremely uneasy working with or helping the Rune Knights at all. I mean, these were mages who had dedicated their careers to capturing other mages and keeping the world safe from evil ones right. Not that..he needed to be captured or anything. Did he? Oh god! As he stood there, repeatedly looking at the exam request. One of his guildmates approached him.

"Oh! Yeah you'd better do that, Ezra was talking about beating you up earlier!" as the older guy said this, Haru would retort.

"I'd like to see him try!" Haru said confidently, although on the inside he was pretty nervous about the thought of taking Ezra on one on one. Although it did excite him as well. "Not really though...." he said, wondering if he was in fact strong enough to take on the Aces of the guild now. "I'll get it done." as he said this the guy would ask to read the request as Haru let him.

"Oh jeeeeez......helping with a police investigation?" he looked up at Haru as he said the last part, looking over the paperwork again. "....More power to ya! I'm stayin a mile away from any police activity!!!" as he said this he would salute Haru and walk off, leaving him the paperwork on the table.

As he read through the paperwork, he couldn't help but to notice that the guys in custody were a little older than him but still young men. He looked over their profiles and faces. Memorizing them best he could as he furrowed his brow; wondering what could make them take such drastic actions. Robbing a bank was not something that actually happened everyday. It was the type of operation that took planning and execution on the finest of levels.

"Hm.....what in the world made these guys do it." he said to himself as he heard Rose land next to him. "Watcha got?" she asked as he slid her the main sheet. She realized it was an A-class examination as well as a request in itself and got a grin on her face. "Oho ready for the big leagues are we now? Keep dreaming!" she taunted as Haru balled up a fist at her playfully as the two shared a small chuckle. "But in all seriousness...Motor City isn't exactly the easiest place to make it...they probably just got desperate. Who knows why they did this....heck they won't even give up the money or their other partners in crime who got away." she said aloud as she read over the same details Haru just had. "Yeah, what's even stranger is they aren't even flinching at the thought of jail time." this alone made Haru think that there might be some kind of breakout attempt by the ones who got away with the money.

The two of them would peruse over the Exam Request for a little while before setting off. Leaving the guild just the two of them Haru would get a running start as he usually did when Rose picked him up. He felt her paws under his arms swoop him upward as they rocketed off into the skies; Rose using her Aera Magic to literally blast off into the clouds. Heading for South Fiore.

Landing in Motor City was a hassle. They actually ended up hitting the city at full speed flight just cruising, Rose not being an average level Exceed by any means meant they were moving on ahead at a pretty good clip. Wondering when they would land exactly he could tell she was looking for a good spot.

He hadn't been here since his job with Leila. That had been a rather explosive day, he hoped today wasn't as crazy. Since he was only interrogating them. However, in the back of his head he was smiling at the idea of being in complete control; but he knew it was wrong to think that way. Arriving, as Rose and him would land in fabulous fashion, they looked ahead at the bustling metropolis in front of them. "This place never ceases to amaze me, I swear." even though he said something of that nature, he had a look on his face that looked not to thrilled to be around so many cars and vehicles. "Oh, don't worry we won't catch a cab." Rose teased but comforted at the same time, knowing Haru would probably gather all vehicles in the world and nuke them on an island if he could. With a solemn nod, they both shared a little chuckle before making their way all the way to the police station.

A more solemn air overtaking them both, as they got closer. A sixteen year old, leading an investigation, this was going to be good he thought to himself. Rose was probably thinking the worst. "Ok, so melting them is NOT an option.". Yep. Of course. He almost laughed but only chuckled, which made her even more nervous. "Oh god...." she said as she walked next to him, he looked down at her and shrugged. Enjoying torturing her mentally way to much he decided to stop before he got carried away. Entering the police station, he was immediately recognized. "WHOA, Haru from Fairy Tail?" as he nodded to the cop he would be greeted with a handshake. "And Rose too! My daughter loves you." he said as he bowed to her, she was famous long before Haru even became an official mage; so he was used to people reacting like that to seeing her. "Those suspects still back there being stubborn huh?" as they walked further into the station, he asked the guy. With a sideways nod, he answered. "Well they've been in there for friggin ever. I'd say they're tough nuts to crack, you've got your work cut out for you." as he said this, they arrived as two detectives stood outside of a door talking. They stopped as Haru and Rose walked up with the other cop.

"Well, there he is. Can't believe they actually called in a mage to get this done." one of them said. The other would nod to Haru. "Detective Long." as he shook both of their hands, they both seemed to be inspecting him, as he just looked like a regular young guy, nothing too special about him except his scarf was pretty fancy looking and definitely from Midi. "Well, you've got your work cut out for you, short of torturing these guys we're out of options....trust me I tried yelling, even probably made up some fucking words." as he said this Haru let out a chuckle, as Rose shot him a look because of his language. He didn't care however, as she merely shook her head. "Well, if you're gonna use magic on em, I'll just enjoy the show then. Right this way miss Rose." the other cop seeming much more polite than his partner. Haru was let into a room with two people handcuffed to a table, one hand free so they could eat and drink. They stopped talking to one another as Haru walked into the room. He didn't sense magic from either of them, they weren't mages. Just regular guys. Well, not truly since they apparently were master criminals.

Grabbing a chair and sitting down, Haru would just lean back in his chair and stare at the two of them. "Oh please, don't stop by all means keep talking." he said in a jest as the two of them looked at one another and looked back at Haru, staying silent until one talked. "You're from Fairy Tail?" he seemed serious as he asked this. Slowly Haru would nod at him, as the other guy looked a bit concerned. "Oh shit this guy is about to torture us man, just look at the look on his face." he obviously had some kind of mix of respect and fear for Haru's guild. They were pretty notorious after all. "Go ahead and start, I won't talk." he said shortly after, the guy seemingly accepting his fate.

"Acting brave won't stop me from burning one of your legs to ashes, not even a bone left, just a stub...forever." Haru was already quite good at mind games, roasting people or hurting feelings, so reverse manipulation came easy to him. The guy looked really freaked out now, and stayed silent but had quite the look on his face. The other guy hadn't said a word yet, which Haru noticed. "This one however, may actually die before he gives up anything." as he said this, the guy finally said something.

"I'm sure a mage from Fairy Tail would understand, when you're tight with your boys, you don't exactly just turn on em." he said this with a stone cold look on his face, Haru knew what this was because he felt the same way about his guild. This was pure loyalty. This was going to take some thought. He got one idea, but it was a bad one he might have to go with it in the end however.

"So where are you guys from, I'm a Terra Ignis boy myself." he said as the talkative one just blurted out his hometown. "Oak Town." as he said this, his friend shot him a look and just shrugged, pausing before saying something. "Magnolia." as he said this, Haru got a look on his own face. "I see that name means something to you...of course it does." as he said this, Haru realized that he knew who he was all at once. "Your grandfather actually saved my entire families life before I was even born." as he said this, Haru shook his head. "Then why are we sitting here having this conversation?" as he said this, the guy looked confused as hell. "I could easily get both of you guys out of here, if you know about me, you know what I'm capable of doing." he said as he opened up a hand, a ball of flames appearing out of nowhere, roaring softly like a dragon.

Clenching his fist, as it smoked harmlessly for a moment, the fireball went out. "You think I won't do it?" he got his first small grin on his face as his hand stopped smoking just at that time. As he said this, the talkative one was now officially freaked out. "This guy is fucking crazy man.....he's gonna blow this entire place up and bust us out.....are you serious?!" as he said this, the detectives watching through the black glass looked very concerned as Rose smirked to herself, watching while standing on a table nearby.

As the tension in the room reached a boiling point, one of the guys the more solid demeanor'd one spoke up again. "Alright, alright. What do we get if we tell you?" as he said this, Haru looked toward the glass and then back at the two of them. Leaning in close so only they could hear him, he spoke up.

"You'll be working for Fairy Tail from now on...you and your comrades who robbed the bank. We will return the cash in jewel to Motor City, but...your group will work for us from now on....incase we need something highly illegal done." as he said this, he'd lean back away from them. The two detectives looked even more concerned as they turned toward Rose who could clearly hear everything due to being not only a cat, but an Exceed with even larger ears than a regular cat. "What is your friend up too....what was that just now?" as he said this, Rose would turn toward the two of them and swish her tail around before talking. "It looks like he's going to get the money back." as she said this, the two looked extremely excited. "Oh my god...I'm going to get a promotion off of this." as he said this, Rose couldn't help but to grin a bit. "I suggest you two go and get a representative from the bank." as she said this, the two would literally jog out as they were left alone in the interrogation rooms, Rose still behind the glass. Back in the room, the two seemed to be considering his offer.

"So...Fairy Tail will pay back the bank.....and we'll get away with it as long as we work for the guild?" one of them said as Haru would only nod in agreement and confirmation.

Eventually the manager from the bank came, as Haru was signaled out of the room by one of the detectives. Making eye contact with the bank manager; he nodded to him. "Tomorrow will read, Motor City Police recover lost jewels for MC Bank." as Haru told them to imagine that headline, he continued. "I'll be taking these two with me to Fairy Tail no questions asked, they're going to help me track down their friends." although in truth, the guild was going to hire them for nefarious reasons.

Amongst one another they talked, as a few more important looking individuals came into the room and joined the conversation. Eventually the other two were let out and even let out of their handcuffs. When they were finally out, they would set off back to Magnolia Town. The guy who was from there was actually smiling a bit.

"I haven't seen my hometown in a long time...." he said to himself. Looking at Haru as if he almost wanted to thank him. When they finally returned to Magnolia, the guy practically was as talkative as his friend was earlier; and when they got to the guild he was practically friendly.

"Find Ezra, tell him I've completed the request...and more. I'll discuss it with him." he said with his usual serious tone to the guild receptionist as she blinked at Haru and nodded, taking the request from him and stamping the paper 'completed' as he did so; he would welcome the two guys to Fairy Tail as Rose hopped up on his shoulder.
