    The Mission:

    Theobold was the name of the client and today he was supposed to follow this guy around and shake down simple every day normal people. This was a chore to say the least, but the man was paying and Feitan was still a true mercenary at heart. As long as he had a contract, and he was paid on time he would do whatever it was that was asked of him. Provided his employer didn’t bore him with their weakness, or simply upset him enough to make him murder them outright in cold blood. Now he yawned as he walked through motor city he headed for the meeting place that the client had specified. He wasn’t sure why this location in particular, but it was the location that had been chosen. The thug was already there waiting for him looking very annoyed and at the same time like he didn’t want to be caught out in public.

    Feitan arrived and looked to his client with a slight smirk on his face hidden behind the neck of his cloak “So, I am here Mr. Thawn, shall we get on with this little job you have for me?” The man nodded his head with a smirk “As per what I told you before I am forced to go shake down some annoying lambs who won’t pay up their protection money. I go through the trouble of protecting them from those stronger than they are and yet I get no thanks for that. So, now we have to go collect you and I. You may have to get dirty so if you have any objections to that you’d better speak up now. If you don’t like it then you can hit the road.” Feitan rolled his eyes as he reached behind his head pulling a blade from the sheath on his back “Just lead the way.”

    With a flick of his wrist the sword transformed and it became a giant of a thing easily bigger than Feitan was, and looking fresh and sharp as could be. Thawn nodded his head with a goofy annoying smile on his face “That’s kind of awesome sure, but we still need to get going.” He walked passed Feitan leading the blade wielding madman towards a shop that was not normally a trouble maker. This shop was that of a lacrima car maker. As the pair arrived the found the shop owner working hard to make new lacrima vehicles. Thawn kicked a bucket towards the man causing it to hit against the car the man was under “Hey! Old man, it’s time to pay up your fee!” The man slowly emerged from under the car frowning and shaking his head as he picked up a wrench “No I don’t think I will pay you.”

    Thawn sighed heavily as he heard this shaking his head as if he was truly sad about it “Now, why’d you have to go and say something like that? It looks like I’ll have to remind you that you need me.” He glanced over at Feitan and nodded his head once. Feitan didn’t need another word of warning gripping his blade in two hands he lunged forward and slashed through one of the lacrima vehicles closest to him slicing it through without much more effort than a single slash. He turned and moved to the next one slashing through it with the same ease and this time even more slicing straight through the vehicle and into a bench as well as a tool rack. It was easy going with the strength he put behind his blade. He would have to find that one eyed warrior and thank her for the gift she made him of the blade.

    He was about to swing again when thawn called out “hold it!” Stopping almost mid swing Feitan simply let the huge blade slam to the floor which caused a great rivet to appear in the floor the stone and cement cracking from the weight of the blade. Thawn looked to the old man smirking now “I can call him off before he completely levels your shop. If you don’t pay me now then there is only one option and that is to continue on with the destruction. Don’t make this any harder on yourself old man.” The old mechanic sighed shaking his head as he nodded once “Alright! Just make that monster stop!” Feitan frowned looking back to the man “I’m not a monster, I’m a madman!” Feitan corrected in a very annoyed tone of voice. Thawn sighed shaking his head “Yes, yes we know. Now pay up old man otherwise he’ll continue going crazy.”

    The old man sighed moving to his safe pulling out a bunch of jewels before he moved towards Thawn paying him up in full. Thawn nodded his head smiling and counting out his money while Feitan rolled his eyes and slowly moved towards his client letting the blade in his hand shrink back to the form it was before he had truly activated the power of the blade. Now his client nodded his head once “Very good. I am glad that we can do business. I hope we don’t have to have any further unpleasantness in the future.” He said sounding very sincere about this before he turned heading out of the garage with Feitan right behind him. He looked back at Feitan with a smile on his face “That sword is fairly impressive. Where did you get it?” Feitan looked to the sword he had resting on his shoulder “I obtained it from someone who was dying.”

    This caught Thawn’s attention “Someone who was dying? What’s that mean?” Feitan sighed as he waved the blade slightly “The one eyed warrior who gave this blade to me. She was dying and yet she said she had no heir worthy to pass it on. I happened to come upon her while she was dying though what she was dying of I do not know. She saw me and the look in my eyes apparently respecting my strength she gave it to me. I don’t look gift horses in the mouth, besides I’d have probably just stolen it once she died. When she did give it to me I simply left her and don’t know what has become of her since, but with the wounds she had I would be surprised if she is still living today.” Thawn shrugged his shoulders dismissing it “You talk a lot you know that?” Feitan slapped Thawn with the flat of the blade “You asked a question. Don’t be so annoying.”

    They arrived at the next shop when they were done talking, but there was someone who was already waiting for them. He held a long metal pipe in his hand and bounced it in the open palm of his other hand “You get out of here Thawn! I know that kid is a new guy and as such you don’t have the bruisers you usually travel with! Now you’d better get out of here!” Thawn sighed heavily as he looked to Feitan “Look, don’t kill him. Just rough him up, you can’t collect money from a dead man.” Feitan sighed heavily shaking his head as he slowly moved towards the old man “yeah, yeah. Fine. I suppose I won’t kill him, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be in recovery for a good long while.” As he approached the man swung his pipe at Feitan trying to cave his head in with the metal shaft.

    Feitan rolled his eyes sending a flush through the blade he held it up with one hand and the pipe struck it with the force the man put behind it. The inferior metal struck hard making the pipe shudder and ring sending a fierce vibration through the shaft making the man’s arms vibrate as well he couldn’t handle it so he dropped the shaft looking at his hands that looked to be seriously injured but Feitan was sure most of that damage was internal and not actually on the surface. Still he smirked and shook his head slowly as he slowly brought the blade down off of his shoulder and looked to the shopkeeper with a wicked sick smile thankfully the majority of it was hidden behind the extra long collar of his cloak “I do hope that you aren’t so weak as to die from this one attack, but if you do just know you brought it on yourself.”

    He pulled his blade back and slammed the giant flat of the blade into the old man sending him flying into the side of his shop hard enough to create a dent in the wall as well as crack several dozen bones inside of the old man. He dropped to the ground knocked clean out and Feitan shrank the blade sheathing it again on his back. Moving towards Thawn he held his hand out “Pay me. I have to go.” Thawn nodded as he paid the mercenary “Pleasure doing business with you.” Feitan shook his head “No it wasn’t. You’re a pathetic slimeball who is too weak to enforce his own kingdom. If you ever come across my path again I will kill you for wasting my time with your pathetic little errand.” His eyes were filled with hatred and anger. Thawn didn’t doubt this threat for a minute and he quickly moved away while Feitan headed back to the Basilisk fang guild hall.
