A series of events led Raiza to be here. Sitting upon the stump of a tree surrounded by the husks of vile creatures that tried to claim his life. Each a part of the ritual he had been conducting. The events that lead him here were far inbetween but yet, each event had pushed him further and further. Loyalty to the guild of savages etched at his mind, begged him to return before he regretted such a decision. Yet, his firm grasp on his own situation knew he had to go. The guild was dying, very little progress was made aside from the occassional movement. Yet that was not all. Behind the scenes was involvements he did not wish to partake in. No, instead Raiza clung to the concept of growth, to get stronger, and to do that he was seeking out that power today.

He had been given a clue by Marceline, one he dictated that she could not directly say who her guild master was, yet at that moment, Raiza had already began to think of exactly what path to take. Words given to Raiza would be far more than enough for research to have taken place. Though if anything this would be still a stretch. Raiza had tried to seek out a nameless guild, and a nameless guild master for awhile after that job, but still... it was like the kugeki, nothing was found. Nothing at all. So, with one last ditch effort he turned to one final source. The dead. The dead could speak, and they would reveal that in which he sought out. Yet, even now, his actions were bringing him closer than he ever anticipated.

Before him, laid a number of fresh human corpses. Along with multiple living sacrifices. A wooden table stretched out with quite a number of humans staked through the heart for blood to spill the ground. The stench had attracted vile creatures far and wide, all which were slain in attempt to keep the ritual site un-touched, and demonically sacred.

"Every ritual I could find, has been done. Now, to finish it" his words calmly spoken as his posture changed from a seated to a standing over a single body.

"Unholy Sanguinoth, entity of darkness. Here I call your name upon the blood soiled grounds to offer this sacrifice to beacon your attention to hear my plea. I seek but one individual to join allegiance under, I call upon the power of Sanguinoth to seek this individual out, and to help to cut all other ties. I have not but my life to offer, and it is yours for the taking.Hear my words Sanguinoth, and arise from the blood of the many virgin sacrifices that have been made here today. "

Surrounding him still, were the many bodies, and beyond that a large ring of fire, corpses used as fuel for the flames, intertwined with sap and entire logs burned. From the outside, it'd be entirely too hard to see the inside of what was going on in the flames, but on the inside it almost looked like a room in hell itself. The ground was warm, soaked with fresh blood and mud. Crisp around the edges from the immense heat lingering from the fueled flames, with Raiza standing just feet from the center, where a ritual circle had been drawn.

    Eris

Under the night sky of Sin the fires of sacrifice blotted out the stars above with their smoke and light but illuminated the tall trees surrounding the clearing which shook in the night winds carried across the barren wastelands that composed the deeper parts of Sin,  carrying with it the smell of brimstone and ash,  overpowered in the clearing by the scents of blood, of burning hair and flesh.   Scents that drew the wretched scavengers and hunters alike that preyed on the outskirts of Sin,  away from greater entities that resided towards the heart of the land.
A number of them would be challenging on their own,  but solitary creatures that fought one another as they approached.  Filling the air with howls and shrieks in the distance as they clashed,  the victors finding their way to the source of the scent they sought after in hopes of claiming it as their own.

The flame kept the lesser creatures away,  the bodies of the daring keeping the rest at a distance after a time,  hoping to see weakness and opportunity.  The fires reflecting in eyes in the shadows of the surrounding trees.   The logs and piles of corpses,  beast and abomination among the human lives,  that had stacked up in the efforts of the creatures that had been drawn had begun to reach chest height by the time things grew quiet and the night dragged on leaving the processes undisturbed as the hour approached as a red crescent moon rose over the trees in from Sin's heart as described by the Articles of Abbediah detailing the ritual process of communing with the wish granting devil, Sanguinoth, mother of necromancy.

When the crescent moon completed its crest and the final pieces came into play,  there was an immediate shift in the atmosphere and a silence as winds stopped and creatures fled at the utterance of the name,  the invocation of the devil.  The flames of the circle stretched to twice their size hiding the trees from view completely,  the sounds of crackling flames fading away to an absolute silence that filled one's ears with the sounds of their own heart and blood.
Looking to the skies the moon appeared to grow close and deeper in its vibrancy,  as though it threatened to start dripping blood.   As the ritual completed one would become aware of a second heartbeat reverberating through their body separate from the sound of their own.  A pressure weighed down on all in the circle with the weight of an unseen presence.

Sound gradually started to return,  slowly,  enough to hear the movement as each dead body stirred in what would have been their final sleep,  heads turning to face the man who spoke the devil's name,  slowly rising each to stand just inside the circle forming a ring of burning men and women,  the bodies of the creatures rising with them to sit or stand with them,  even as flames seared their flesh to a boil and faces charred with melted fat dripping off from them.  Their jaws clattering as each twitched chaotically in unknown purpose.
The body at the mage's feet rolled over once,  blood staining it's form as it rose, dripping,  from the ground.   Hollow eyes saw nothing but its movement was filled with intent.  Its head twitched once to the side before its head snapped back,  jaw wide in a silent shriek to the skies above as its hands clawed at its throat,  nails raking into flesh and spilling more blood,  its fingers digging under its own skin as it started to peal away its own face.

Severed arteries releasing a fountain of blood that only increased in intensity by the time its hands returned to its sides,  skin falling from its hands onto the ground below.  Skinless face staring into the sky,  now boiling blood pooling up past their ankles after only moments,  blood that splashed when the body fell to its knees,  staring up into the mage's face with eyeless sockets,   one eye still dangling from its hand.

A rune seared itself into the forehead of the sacrifice.  Black and charred into place at first it grew hotter and pealed away from the flesh to hover in the air above,  glowing in place and radiating a primordial presence that distorted the light in the circle,  washing away colors save for the red of the blood around them and causing ripples in the thinning air,  like the natural orders of the world were trying to bend away from the source of the presence that had come into play.
The rune brought with it knowledge and comprehension that filled the mind directly at a glance that spoke of the nature of a wish,  promising one's desire at the cost of the soul, the mind, and the body.  The essence of being,  with a promise of eternity independent of one's soul,  that existence continues and is not damned by the loss of spirit.    A shadow of light without origin burned into the mind,  a red hand,  calling to the mind to come unto it.

Post by Raiza 18th August 2016, 3:33 pm

Looking upon the events unfolding Raiza's iron stead will grew cold. His breaths became short as his own heart seemed to double. His mind raced, wondering if this was a good thing. Nothing he had done till now made sense to him, the going to a demonic...no satanic source was a large differential change for him. Even standing here now as the bodies seemed to shift, change to the undying undead, a force that would easily consume and kill him had he taken a single step in a wrong direction, or would do anything to upset the entity he had called upon.

Thats when finally, the runes seemed to give light upon the situation. A deal, a pact, a trade to be precise. Acquiring the wish Raiza wants, and promises of more if he were to trade his soul. A part of him wanted to run, hide and just end it now. However, there was a tinge of his own mortality that altered him. His own reaper form began to be forced to the surface. The 'true him' had surfaced upon force. The 'power' the entity had was not control as of yet, as the deed had not been completed. Yet a black essence began to leave Raiza's body, the part of him that wanted this 'deal' to be made was already winning, and had won. "So, the reaper and the devil make a pact. I accept your terms." his words were cold as his body began to feel limp. His soul was taken from him, but he was not dead...or maybe he was, but still alive. After all, what do you classify the undying anyways. The moment his soul was taken, a new force had entered, he was a true death. His magic began to fade, and even now as Raiza fell to his knees, he felt the h.u.d ability shutting down. Instead in a new place, darker energy began to emerge, but yet untapped. Raiza whom was still recovering was now hit with a new wave of information while the promise had been kept to him.

So the reaper and a devil have made a pact. The Grim Heresy pact to be precise, and the moment Raiza had accepted it he already lost all loyalty to SS, and anyone within it, along with any loyalty to anyone outside of GH in the first place. His mind raced, and already knew those who he encountered who were part of it. Marceline came to mind quickly, so... this was the guild that she was part of and yet spoke nothing of. The entity Raiza called for, was indeed just the master of the guild, or at least 'group' that Raiza was seeking out, and yet he had no clue.

"I see, so you didn't answer before as that'd fulfil my wish without my part of the deal. Its an honor to meet you Goddess Eris" his words etched into his own mind as he spoke. His body began to rise and ash was already falling from his body. He seemed changed, he was no longer breathing, his heart had stopped beating, yet he stood ontop of a burning pile of ash, feeling almost no change, aside from freedom. Something was different though. This change occured too fast and far too well. It was as if a prior event had caused this change to be sped up. That event was the vampiric bite of Marceline, whom had bitten him but his own magic fought off the vampire infection. Except one problem, Eris's magic was able to amplify this, causing his body to accept the undying gift. In this turn, Raiza had become a vampire through Marceline's bite, and added undying through Eris. His mind clear as he clenched his fist feeling a darker infuse of power, while the thoughts of savage skull lingered, they were not thoughts of loyalty, but rather...neutrality. He didn't care for the guild anymore and it was apparent when his own guildmark was currently being burned from his flesh and re-healed at a rapid place, a healing process that took every nerve in Raiza's body to not pass out from the sheer pain as the tattoo'd guild mark was finally removed after minutes of torture through flames.

"Thank you for answering my beckoning call Goddess. I can only hope to serve you to your standards. I feel so much more free than ever now" his words brought a smile to his face, waiting to see if Eris herself would show up, or if the meeting was already done. He still had to go see the palace after all.

Accepting the Pact opened the doors to the mind and pulled him through with no return.   As it was accepted the corpse fell over to one side and sunk into the pool of blood,  disappearing despite the shallow depth as it began to boil with a spike in heat.  The circle of fire roaring with invigorated life,  stretching higher as to touch the sky.   The crescent blood moon that had only just rose above the tree line was now directly overhead and magnified,  like a red smile of a cosmic entity looking down on the land.   The smile widened,  a mirror image of the crescent moon appearing out from the first like the opening of a giant's mouth,  before a red solar eclipse,  a halo of flame,  sparked between,  the two crescent halves becoming the outline of a giant's eye,  with a blazing iris between.    Spires of bone shot up from the blood to curl around and meet,  a cage sealing him away.  A purple mist flowing off from the bars that held him,  hands that grabbed him and threatened to drag him down into the pool of blood.   Vision dimming and closing in on him,  a sense of death and finality clawing at the mind

The imprint that had been seen in the mind's eye of the fiery red hand,  like a silhouette,  only grew in intensity.   Seen even with eyes closed the hand increased in size as though it stretched across a vast distance until with a violent suddenness it lashed out,  shaking him with a sensation that traveled through to the core of his being.   The hand withdrew,  carrying with it a familiar skull in its grasp that bled a purple ink from between its teeth and dripped from its sockets as the burning hand closed around it, audibly cracking the skull with the groan of stressed bone until it caved in all at once,  disappearing into a purple vapor leaving only the burning hand hovering before him.   The entire process occurring like a fever dream,  no where to be seen to his eyes but so real in the mind.    A mind that raced with memories that flowed through him,  but as they passed all meaning was lost.  No attachments remained,  the memories were drained into baser experiences.  The walls of his cage broke and fell away into the blood,  purple ink mixing with the crimson red of the blood,  fading and swirling together where the cage melted away leaving him free.

The mark of his past was gone,  and he would feel the burning hand inside of him.  A sense of presence that would be with him always,  seen and felt only by those who bore the same unless called upon for others to witness.   The hand illuminated his mind,  baring with it the knowledge he sought.  The awareness of those he had interacted with in the past and the ties they now shared,  information about the organization that had been formed around the figure he had reached out to.  Information that was tightly guarded even in his mind,  as though the hand itself held the information close.   The pact would not allow him to keep these memories if he turned from it,  the memories themselves being the least of concerns in such an event.

The weight of one's soul[Private/Eris] TJECGXC

As reality came into focus,  there was a very real hand there residing on his chest,  where reality had slipped away from him if it even had at any point or if the figure before him only just appeared,  was a blur   Uncomfortably hot on his skin the black hand looked charred and bore fissures into the womanly body that glowed with internal heat all the way up to the shoulders of the person before him,  the blackness fading away up past her forearms.  Her chest was in a similar state.  White flesh was contrasted by a blackened fissure was split all the way from the base of her throat down to her pelvis revealing a fire within her that burned fiercely,  with an exposed rib cage with no sternum and only the charred tips just sticking out from the sides of the fissure itself.   Her legs were blackened nearly up to her hips and fractured with many channels of flames as she hovered on a swirling vortex of inky black smoke and glowing embers,  hand reaching down to touch his chest.

Her face was that of a skeleton,  flesh burned completely away up to the scalp leaving blackened bones and billowing white hair that flowed around her form.   Two beads of flame lit her eye sockets in place of eyes,  that stared into the man's emotionlessly.  No flesh to betray any expression,  but the hand pressed onward.  Searing pain filling his body as resistance failed and it pushed its way past his bones until it gripped his heart,  ceasing the rhythm of its beating as it touched.   Black essence then began to bleed out from his body and the heat coming off of the woman's body burned throughout him.  It felt as though the woman could have killed him at a touch,  but the fires were controlled and wove through his body with purpose inflicting change that brought him to his knees as the hand withdrew.

Eris stood above him now like a giant herself,  standing several times his height with inky smoke roiling around her in hypnotic patterns.  Between the smoke's flowing movements her body seemed to change with each passing of the smoke,  parts of her disappearing completely,  revealing only a black skeleton,   or showing the softer white body of the devil,  it was as though the smoke was altering the lens through which she was seen,  peeling away different layers of reality until the smoke slowed down,  the chaos becoming more unified until it stopped flickering with visions of the skeleton her,  but a united whole body free of black stains or fiery cracks,  but a complete woman.   The smoke now had a new purpose as it slid across her body in ribbonlike streams to flow over her chest and between her legs,  black leather clothing her with some fraction of what might be considered modesty leaving the smoke to steam off of her in the finished caped appearance.   Fires still raged in the circle and the burnt corpses now silent remained standing,  watching,  blood still boiling in the pool that went up past the ankles,  though Eris seemed to stand atop the surface unhindered.

Half a smile of amusement played on her lips as she gestured through the flames,  her cape following her gesture,  skeletons,  bodies,  logs and flames disappearing into smoke and ashes to open a hole through the circle that surrounded them.   They were not in any forest no longer,  no trees were to be seen at all.  The heat remained,  and the reason was clear.   The blood drained out from the sides,   the smoke and ash continuing throughout the circle as a chain reaction as though erasing it all away with the motion of her hand,   of the platform they were on.  Hidden by the wall of flames they had moved at some point and were now at the steps of a great temple of black and red that loomed above,  bones and whole skeletons worked into the design and the walkway itself seemed to be composed of pressed bone worn into the ground from what must be centuries of use.

The Temple of the Undying stood before them,  it's doors opening silently,  parting a large skull in two on either half of the double doors fit to serve giants,  such as the woman,  devil, or goddess beside him.   Black skies over heard were rumbling with lightning and ash rained softly like a light snow,  coming from the burning volcano only a few miles away to the side,  standing tall and pouring smoke into the atmosphere,  the temple itself built over a lake of bubbling lava that radiated intense heat throughout the rocky hellish landscape littered with bones and animated skeletons of all manner of variety,  including skeletal giants with horned heads,  spear tipped tails and skinless wings that walked slowly around the land as though waiting for something to dare approach without the mark of their master.

Post by Raiza 18th August 2016, 8:09 pm

After everything was said and done, Raiza stood before a citadel, the temple of the undying. Even a breath here would kill most. Luckily for Raiza he no longer needed to breath. His mind wandered as each step took him closer and closer to the structure. Words were not even needed at this point, but yet Raiza almost wished Eris had spoken to him, responded in a verbal sense to allow him to know he did the right thing to appease her. It ached in his mind, and yet it did not bother him. His mentality right now was so wild that he was like a machine ascending the stairs to his new home.

Thoughts trailed inside his mind. Thoughts and memories of everyone he once was loyal to, cared for, or even loved. All of those thoughts meant nothing unless they were related to grim heresy. One thought in particular was that of Marceline, and the vampiric bite she gave him. The vampire venom took hold of his body very much later due to his body having fought it off. Yet there was a difference in his body. Eris's magic had turned him into an undying. What was he now? A vampire? Partially...yes. Though now his clasification was far from mortal human with some gamer magic. No, already now he felt the new infusion of magic taking hold. His body was adjusting to it still as it threatened to burst from his body. A tool that needed to be re-tamed, but yet he still did not worry. His attitude was already far too driven to care, he would re-adjust and move on soon, move on to his home, and his new life.

Even walking into the building now, Raiza smiled, dark essence taking hold of his body as he moved effortlessly until he was no longer seen, he had to go get accustomed to the new place. "Goddess Eris, thank you again. I do hope to talk with you some day" His words were quite simply almost drone like still. He wasn't controlled, but he wasn't all there either. His mind was still racing, still changing. His body was still changing too, and eventually within the palace his body would collapse from the shock, the change, and everything that had happened.
