Yes, with a wound like that he would only probably last a few minutes but with high speed and high power attacks like his that could be more than enough time to take Naraku down with him. That she could not allow. She had to beat this guy, beat the boss and get back to reality with new strength. Once that had occurred she had a few scores to settle. "You're one tough cookie, but compared to some people I've fought you're nothing." Naraku said and this was true. She was thinking in particular of Major Heracles and the dark principal. The two of them were insanely powerful. "Surrender and give me the segment then I won't kill you."the man just shook his head and began forming a gesture. He had made his choice. He had chosen death. Naraku walked forward towards the man. She did not even attempt to dodge the first attack that was launched at her, another spear of lightning. No, she merely batted it out of the way with her clawed hand. She felt pain from it, but this was one time she was certain she wouldn't fail. Not because she was stronger or better than her opponent, but because failure to her was not an option. After blocking the first blow her pace quickened and she saw him forming a complex set of hand gestures. He was likely preparing for a big attack.

Naraku fell forward and then kicked off in a sprint start using the momentum of the fall and the strength of her legs to increase her speed to an even higher level. Just as he was about to launch his big attack her claws grabbed each side of his head and began to squeeze. She noted he was building up liquid in his mouth once more and she struck forward with her head. The force was enough to shatter his nose and force him to swallow the liquid. She leapt back and watched as lightning lacerated the priest burning his cells to a crisp and ending his life. After recovering her scythe and placing her Stabber back on her wrist Naraku sat down. She dispelled her remaining techniques. There was no sense in maintaining them now.

As she sat there she began to inhale. It was night time in this world and as such it was filled with darkness. Enough darkness to fully restore her magical power. With the healing provided by the gaining of the fifth segment she would be at full strength for facing her strongest opponent. Someone who was said to feel most at home in a church, someone who had been strong enough to defeat all the other priests. She had a feeling she knew what her opponent was to be. Her suspicions might be wrong of course, but still it was worth speculating. If her answer was correct her final opponent might be her toughest fight yet. A battle where her magic would be almost useless. Today had been filled with challenges, but that one would be the hardest yet.

The message razed across the sky in a blast of lightning, most differently than the other challenges. The usual long lasting light flashed intensely around her, flash-healing the woman and replenishing some of her magic power.

A simple door stood where the lightning mage once lay.

The final challenge awaited.

Chains are broken? That was an interesting statement. What chains bound a person that could only be broken through victory? Unless, as she had suspected earlier, these segments were aimed directly at her. A hint perhaps to her past, which was a bunch of jumbled memories that made little or no sense. Thus the only way to find out about her past was to defeat her opponents and move onto the future. Her chains WOULD be broken. There was no other choice in the matter. The young demon slayer stepped forward and with a powerful kick knocked the doors open to reveal an empty chamber. It was lit quite well, but there were no obstacles and it was of no great size. What was more important though was the girl standing in the middle. It appeared to be herself.

"I am the priest of light, and I reflect my opponent." the girl said her voice identical to Naraku's. "That is one one of the properties of my magic, Fallen Angel Slayer." Naraku knew the name, but she'd heard that the fallen angel slayer no longer existed. It was a demon slayer who specialised in defeating angels who had fallen from grace. In essence they specialised in defeating holy demons. "Who would of thought that the Hell Demon Slayer would be the only opponent able to reach me in this dreamscape?" Yes, who would of thought it indeed that her opponent would be one who had the holiest of magics, a blessed holy magic. A truly tough opponent. "What's more interesting than that though is that light destroys the darkness, but darkness consumes the light." For a few moments she was confused by this, but eventually Naraku gasped as realisation dawned upon her. So not only was her magic not effective against her opponent, their magic was not effective against her. However, her opponent's magic power was greater than her own. Naraku could sense that immediately. She would have to be careful as her opponent's best spells were likely strong enough to overpower her best spells. She could weaken them, but not stop them. It would be difficult.

"Enough talk. Let's end this." Naraku said swinging her scythe about in a complex pattern before slamming it down once. Her opponent did not have a scythe. No, she had a strange weapon. It appeared to be two swords joined onto one another by the hilt. The swords were curved and thus formed almost a bow shape. Naraku blinked. She recognised the weapon. How, she did not know, but the weapon was clearly the fabled bow of Palutena, a light goddess. It was said to be wielded by her strongest servant Pit. Had Pit fallen and this opponent had taken the weapon from her? That was not good. The bow of Palutena was a deadly weapon. Speed would be of the essence and manoeuvrability even more so. She rose into the air and to her surprise so did her opponent. White angel wings had formed on her shoulders. They barely flapped at all, but glowed brightly. It was clear to Naraku that these wings did not need to flap to elevate the opponent. They merely bestowed the gift of flight and gave a more angelic appearance. Naraku could appreciate that. Appearances were important. Well, if that's the way her opponent wanted to play...

...then Naraku would change the rules. She played no-one's game except her own. She had participated in these battles not because she had to, which she did, but because she wanted to. Fighting strong opponents, testing her strength and most importantly ripping people's flesh from their bones was totally her style. However, this particular game she could play too. She had one trick up her sleeve which she saw no point in using till this point. "Let's make this a proper battle, Angel versus Demon." Naraku said and then her robe shimmered. The opponent raised an eyebrow, but suddenly there was flash of black light and rather than Naraku floating there what appeared to be floating there was a demon in every sense of the word. Her skin was black and scaled, her eyes glowed red, horns curled atop her head, bat-like wings formed from her back. It was a truly fearsome appearance. This was the Envy ability of her robe. It allowed her to take the form of another being that she knew of. Even her voice and the way she moved changed. It provided no offensive qualities, the horns would do nothing that a headbutt wouldn't, but it did change the battle significantly. Particularly as her opponent was not aware this was just an illusion. To her it looked like she was a true demon. As if Naraku had the power to become a true demon.

"Physical combat only?" the demon asked her voice rasping and full of menace. The angel slayer agreed with nod and then suddenly the demon lunged swinging her scythe with great force. Her opponent barely had time to block it, such was the ferocity of the attack. However, using strength the woman managed to push the demon back and she slid through the air. The angel slayer spun her weapon and then lunged the tip glowing with bright energy. Physical combat with magic enhancement. Exactly at Naraku had expected. Unfortunately, Naraku's weapons did not possess such a thing, apart from the wrist mounted Stabber. However, she was keeping the fact she could still use that, as it didn't appear to be on her wrist, a secret. Having a weapon your opponent did not know about was ideal. Naraku did not think she dropped down like a stone and backflipped in the air swinging the scythe upwards to try and slice her opponent on the legs. However, her opponent seemed as maneouverable in the air as her and pirouetted out of the way blocking the attack and striking down slicing Naraku's arm. Not enough to activate her one true edge. However, there was still time. This battle was far from over.

Yes, it wasn't enough to activate the power that would give her an edge, but she couldn't just willy nilly get hit. Besides, she would prefer to win this battle without resorting to it if possible. Doing so would be difficult though. Naraku flew at her opponent again her scythe swirling about in a blur, but wherever she tried to strike her opponent managed to block the attack. This jarred her arms a bit as the impact she blocked was quite heavy. It did also jar Naraku's a little bit, but not as much. Yet, she couldn't keep up this high level of offence for long because it would be exhausting and she felt that her opponent would have a higher level of stamina then her. Yes, her opponent was better in every way except one. She did not have Naraku's ferocity. The brutal blows continued for a while, but Naraku was forced to back off to catch her breath. That was when her opponent struck. Fast and strong as lightning she struck. If Naraku had not twisted slightly she would likely have been ended there. However, her opponent instead only succeeded in slicing open the side of the stomach. Naraku grinned and her body began to glow with magical energy. This was not part of her magic this was her blood.

"Allow me to show you...the glory of the slayer." Naraku said and then with a roar she charged in once more. Her power now exceeded that of when she used Hell Demon's Strength, her speed exceeded when she used hell demon's speed and she was just generally a lot more deadly. If she had been using magic she would of been stronger there as well. However, she was using SOME magic and for that reason her flight was now faster as well. She drove her opponent back forcing her on the defensive once more. In this berserk state exhaustion was not an issue. Then Naraku decided to turn the tables on her opponent entirely. Her strength was further boosted by her Hell Demon's strength activating. Now she was easily on par strength wise as her opponent, if not greater. Her opponent was forced back more.

"I did not want to use magic." the angel said as she was slammed against a wall. "But my hand is forced. Fallen Angel's Burst." The opponent's body glowed brightly at these words and then there was a blinding flash of light that sent Naraku flying backwards. The light energy actually burned her body slightly it was that strong. It was a C rank spell at least and of the higher class variety. It could even be a B rank spell, but she doubted it. The force had only blown her back so much because she wasn't expecting it.

"Ooooh so its all out magical warfare now?" the demon that was Naraku asked rhetorically. Things were going to be a lot more interesting with magic involved.

As if in response spears of light, identical to the one that she wielded in her hand, appeared behind the fallen angel slayer. These all lunged at Naraku, but Naraku ignored them entirely spinning her weapon in a vicious blurring circle that broke the spears purely by accident. This would of been impossible if it wasn't for the boost provided by her lineage and her hell demon's strength. They gave her enough power and speed to be able to twirl her scythe with enough speed that it seemed to be everywhere at once. Her opponent in fear erected a barrier of light, but Naraku first weakened it with her Hell Demon's Slash and then shattered it with her scythe. So great was the force behind it that as the barrier broke the sonic vibrations blasted her opponent back into the wall and straight through it.

Naraku did not stop there though. She flew straight at her opponent again, but too her surprise her attack was blocked this time and she was launched backwards. "I underestimated your strength demon." she said as she emerged from the rubble. Her wings now seemed even more angelic and her body radiated light. "I held back, but no longer. Form of the Fallen Angel." Her opponent lunged with new speed and strength that even in her improved form put Naraku on the defensive. So great was the ferocity that the transformation, which was weakening anyway, was broken and Naraku was now fighting in her normal form. This seemed to spur her opponent on as she now knew the transformation to be a mere illusion.

Yes, her opponent's fury and strength was great. The demon slayer was forced to the ground by the angel slayer. The opponent flew back and then struck again. The force was great enough that a crater was formed and Naraku was forced to her knees. How could she win against such power? Even with her demon strength and her lineage she was being overpowered. She would not go down like this. No, she would never go down without a fight. "Hell Demon's Gaze." Naraku hissed firing off too beams of dark energy from her eyes. It was not powerful, not overly so and her opponent dodged out of the way mostly, but it did catch the wing and tore through it. The scream of pain was enough to spur Naraku on. She could win. She just needed to be more versatile than her opponent. She still had a couple of tricks up her sleeve after all. Yes, she could win this battle, but not with strength or speed. Her only advantage was battle skill. It seemed her opponent was powerful, but not as used to battle as she. "You may be stronger than me, faster than me and you definitely have more magic power." Naraku said rising to her feet and dusting herself off with a burning behind her eyes. She was in control of her berserker fury to some extent and not she was going to use her full power in the right ways against her opponent. "But I'm still going to beat you to a pulp."

"Really?" her opponent asked. "All you have left are cheap tricks and i've not even shown half my true power." Naraku just grinned and slammed her scythe down once before assuming a fighting stance and making a beckoning gesture with her hand. "You arrogant b..." she said, but was silenced by the sudden torrent of needles that fired from Naraku's hand. She was hit by a few of them and Naraku licked her lips. Her lineage made any attack that drew blood even stronger and she had just drawn blood. The wounds would be much more severe than they should of been.

"It all comes down to who can use their magic better, not who is stronger." Naraku said as she lunged. She had meant the needles to be a mere distraction. Her opponent threw up another barrier which halted her advance, but as she had charged Naraku had flung a needle of a shadow at her opponent's shadow. Her frontal assault had been a mere feint as well. She leapt back and snapped her fingers causing spikes of shadow to erupt from the ground. A lot of them broke on the barrier, but some got through and stabbed her in both arms and legs. The wounds further enhanced by her lineage. "An angel on a flower. How pretty." The fallen angel slayer rose up, she only had one wing left, but was still capable of flight. Naraku had expected as much. The wings were just for show. However, it seemed the entire 'reflect your opponent' was an illusion.

The wing turned black, the opponent grew in height slightly and her hair lengthened changing to silver. Her entire figure changed revealing that her opponent was not a female, but a male. A one winged angel. The spear also changed to an absurdly long sword. "I will face you in my true form. My name is Seraph and you shall face my judgement." he said, but Naraku just grinned. The man raised an eyebrow in confusion, but it turned into shock and horror as tendrils emerged from under his clothing and began to stab into him. "What...how is this possible?" he screamed.

"Simple, I threw two needles of shadow. The first one was for the shadow flower, the second for the tendrils. They can go in any shadow and move to any shadow attached to it." she said as the one winged angel, whom had been so proud and so sure of victory now his true form was revealed, fell to the ground once more. "So I put them into the shadow of your clothes. Not something i've tried before" Naraku giggled to herself. It was an interesting thing being attacked by the shadows beneath your clothes. He had created so much light that any obstacles, such as himself or his clothing, created so much shadow. She was truly getting better at thinking on the fly. Naraku lunged forward and held her scythe to the man's neck. He was far too weak to move.

"Spare me Naraku. I beg of you." he said, but Naraku just grinned and swung the scythe ending her opponent via decapitation. She lifted up the head to her face and stared into its lifeless eyes before speaking as if it could still hear her, which if you were religious might be true.

"You wanted to judge me. I merely returned the favour." she said the Hell Demon's Strength and glory of the slayer boost falling away. She fell into a seated position tossing the head up and down. "I wonder if i should start collecting enemy heads."

"Well, that would be quite disgusting, my dear", the voice from before echoed from someplace above. "Not a very attractive trait in a woman, but who knows. As you've seen today, people are all different yet similar in their own way. You have accomplished your task, Naraku. You have bested the Dreamscape's best warriors. Well done".

The soft white room that Naraku was in suddenly melded inwardly, taking all the rubble and blood out of the room, replacing everything with the room that Naraku had been in when she first awoken.

"The six Priests of the Elements, all defeated. All defeated by creativity, skill, power, and prowess. Come forth, Elementals". Where Naraku stood, six magic circles appeared around her. Each matched the color of the elemental that summoned it. Each priest emerged from the circle, hooded and robed in robes that matched the color and quality of their element. "Bestow your victor her rightful power", the eerie voice commanded the priests.

Each priest raised a hand towards Naraku. A magic circle appeared in their palm. As soon as all the magic circles appeared, a ethereal light poured from the circles, surrounding her. In the blink of an eye, Naraku was brought back to the peak of her strength, physically and magically.

The priests lowered their hands and then parted ways, three on either side of Naraku. The voice spoke once more. "The bible at the end of the row. On the pulpit. There is a quill and ink waiting to be used. Recite each prayer in the correct order and you will truly succeed. Go now".

Naraku felt the energy return to her. She was back at peak strength. Now all she had to do was write the prayers in the correct order and she would be bestowed greater strength. Or perhaps unlock greater strength. She was not sure yet. She walked towards the pulpit and picked up the quill and inked it.

"Reality is a lie, there are only dreams". she began. That was the first prayer. One she had been most intrigued about and so it stuck in her head. "Through dreams you gain creativity." With each line written the words glowed brightly. Each a colour of the elemental she had defeated to gain that segment. So the first was green and the second was brown. "Through Creativity I gain Prowess." the third glowed a dark blue, but also briefly flashed pale blue symbolising the ice magic that the water mage posessed. "Through prowess, I gain victory." This time it was red, but also orange and yellow. It was as if the words themselves were burning. Quite pretty in its way. That was when she noticed that the colours were not all that had changed about the other lines. The wind lines seemed to billow as if blown in the wind, the brown ones looked solid as the earth, the water ones changed from wet to dry constantly like water to ice and vice versa. The next line seemed to be more swiftly written and the words actually cracked as they were written. This time the words glowed olive. These were the words. "Through Victory, my chains are broken." The five elements who stood beneath her most recent opponent, their words had been successfully written. Then she realised something. The sixth segment. The one for defeating the priest of light. She hadn't received it.

She turned away from the pulpit, looking around in confusion. Had she missed it somehow?

For a moment, nothing happened. The words on the paper simply gleamed on the page, shimmering. But, as all hope seemed to fade from the somber room, the words on the paper began to lift from the book. Each segment shimmered in the air and then shot into each priest that the segment had appeared from. The priests began to shine brightly as they began to levitate with their arms out before them. Like a cross.

The Priest of Wind spoke first.
"Reality is a lie, there are only dreams. A dream forces one to better oneself. It forces change, growth, adaption, evolution… or death."

The priest closed his eyes and extended a hand towards Naraku, the same ethereal energy from before flowing into her. This time, it seemed to raise her overall strength by a small, yet noticeable amount.

The Priest of Earth spoke next.

The Priest of Lightning spoke fourthly.

"Through victory, my chains are broken. One who has freed themselves from all restrictions has reached perfection… their potential fulfilled. Perfect strength, perfect power, perfect destiny."

The Priest of Light spoke last.

He spoke the final prayer. "The power of dreams shall free me. These are the tenets of the Dreamscape. They are more than just words to be memorized. Remember them, understand them. They will lead you to the true power inside of you; the power of magic itself."

The voice from before suddenly appeared in front of all the priests as a man dressed in a dark black robe. None of his body was visible. Only his voice, booming with power, could identify him as the one from before.

"You have won, my dear. Beaten the Dreamscape and it's warriors. The power you're feeling right now? It is permanent. You have risen in strength by following and understanding the tenets of the Dreamscape. Continue to, and you may return here one day to advance your power again. Who knows, one day, you might rule this realm like I do!". The voice's hood just started to come off when he brought his arm up and snapped his fingers.

Naraku was back to where she once was. Only mere minutes had passed in her absence, and it only had been for her sleeping. The Dreamscape was gone. But it's power and memories still flowed through her mind.
