I am the fire
I am burning brighter
Roaring like a storm
And I am the one I've been waiting for
Screaming like a siren
Alive and burning brighter
I am burning brighter
Roaring like a storm
And I am the one I've been waiting for
Screaming like a siren
Alive and burning brighter
Finding himself in a most comfortable position atop a rather sizable tree, Ardere peered off into the city of Era. Things seemed so calm, almost serene. It was certainly one of the most beautiful cities his orange eyes had ever had the pleasure of gazing upon. Sitting with one leg straight, parallel to the branch, he kept the other bent in such a way that he could rest his arm on it. Letting out a slight sigh, his breath was not visible fortunately. The weather had been cold for so long, but now it was beginning to get nice and warm in some places, just how he liked it. Running pale leather covered fingers through his thick brown locks, the fire mage was waiting for someone to get close before heading into the city. Unfortunately he was not here for pleasure, he was here on business. The town of Era had experienced a series of heavy grievances in the past few weeks, murders and many other dark horrors. These murderers were not like the kind he tracked back in the Rune Knights, they were powerful mages. Some form of very dark magic was at work here, which as a god slayer was his specialty. Dealing with dark mages and the like, was also his specialty. However even with his talents, he would need some form of help in this city. From what he was told, there was an entire faction of dark mages lurking here. The Council had not been too clear, but he had what he needed.
They were to investigate the sewers, and the fire mage figured he had only one friend who could accompany him on this journey; Aiyana. The two had been on missions before, back when they were both in Sabertooth. They had a form of friendship and clicked in missions, hopefully that would stick in the time it had been since they last spoke. Letting out another sigh, he leaped down from his perch on the tree. Entering a more populated part of town, he looked onward to see an entrance into the sewers. It had been opened up, but was blocked off by yellow tape and orange caution cones. They must have been doing some form of construction here before the incidents, and had become a main entry point. Noticing a Knight standing by the entrance, Ardere gave a slight wave. He was fairly well known in the Rune Knights and council, seeing as he was the guild master of one of the largest guilds, and a former Rising Star and Rune Knight himself. Fame was not something he would dwell in, but it helped on missions occasionally. Just waiting for my partner now, shouldn't be too long. A familiar scent had crossed his nose, and he had a feeling the source would arrive shortly.

Normal:- Darkness mages(11): A rank wizards who possess the same capabilities as their apprentice counterparts, but can also freely manipulate darkness to form it into tendrils which are used for attacking, defending and restraining their target. Every 4 posts, they can summon more mages (Normal monster encounter) to their aid. It is advisable to dispose of them quickly, lest their numbers quickly rise. - Takes 2 A rank spells to bring down each
- Death mages(9): A rank wizards who possess the same capabilities as their apprentice counterparts, with the difference that they deal unavoidable A-rank magic and can resurrect fallen comrades as zombies every 6 posts. - Takes 2 A rank spells to bring down each
Strong- Master darkness mages(4): S rank wizards who possess the same capabilities as their normal mage counterparts. They can also attempt to partially blind players via a bolt of darkness once every 5 posts. The blind lasts 2 posts and it ensures that any ranged attacks can not hit, and melee attacks can not be aimed properly. The bolt deals A-rank damage. - Takes 4 A rank spells each to bring down
- Master death mages (3): S rank wizards who possess the same capabilities as their normal mage counterparts. They must be killed twice in order to truly die, as they can self-revive. - Takes 4 A rank spells each to bring down each time
Boss: Archmage Rhask
S-rank wizard armed with a death-related artefact weapon. Every cut from the weapon deals S-ranked damage and upon cutting someone twice within 2 posts, causes death-like corruption to spread in their body dealing 1 more S-ranked damage. Takes 10 S-ranked damages to take him down. He also uses Death-Make magic.- Spoiler:
- Death-Make: Remnants (S-rank): Rhask takes a moment to concentrate and creates a large group of spectres made out of Death energy. They have no magical or ranged attacks whatsoever, but deal A-rank damage upon merely touching anything living. Note that the number of spectres equals the number of enemies in total players have defeated during the mission. The spell lasts for 40 posts or until all spectres have been slain (Takes 1 B-rank hit to defeat one). It has a 5 post cool-down.
Death-Make: Serial Killer (A-rank): The archmage focuses and creates a humanoid figure of what appears to be a man with a knife in his hand. This man is actually the Death-Make incarnation of Jack the Ripper and as such, he is extremely proficient at fighting with his knife. He is immune to non-magical attacks and takes double damage from Light-based or Holy magic. He lasts until he is killed and the spell for creating him has a 7 post cool-down, starting from the post after he dies.
Death-Make: Ravagers (A-rank): The boss creates two wolves out of Death energy. They take 50% reduced damage from non-magical attacks and can dash with speeds of 100 miles per hour and have unparalleled agility. Their attacks deal B-rank damage, but the fact they are so hard to hit makes up for their lower damage output. (Players must roll two attack dice per attack against then and both dice must score a hit for the attack to truly land). Takes 2 A-rank damages to take them down. 5 posts cool-down.
Death-Make: Wyvern (S-rank): Rhask condenses large amounts of Death energy to create a Wyvern, a beast that can be considered the Dragon's distant cousin. It is 25 metres long with a wing span of 40 metres and it can breathe Death. Their "Death Breath" reaches up to 80 metres away and deals S-rank damage while their normal attacks deal A-rank damage. Takes 2 S-rank damages to take down. 8 post cool-down
Reward: 70,000 Jewels - Darkness mage apprentices(14): C rank wizards who can manipulate any nearby shadow or darkness regardless of its form. Works on darkness/shadow magic of B-rank or below as well. - Takes 1 A rank spells to bring down each
