A Test of Strength (Ardere v Akryn)

Every wound will shape me,

Ardere took a deep breath, letting the air flow through his lungs as he stood on the tip of his toes. The fire mage was standing behind the door that would be the entrance into the arena, and it seemed that he found himself somewhat addicted to this experience. Fighting had always been a passion of his, ever since he had left Midi to travel Earthland. Cracking his knuckles, he took unbuttoned his white shirt, revealing a black tank top. Sliding on his fingerless gloves, the doors would open. The usual announcer revealed the names of the two fighters, and the special event for the day; hand to hand combat. His flame god slayer magic had become his signature, but the reason he had been so accepting of the magic in the first place was due to it complimenting a hand to hand style. He would show no fear, fisticuffs was no new style for him. After years of training in several different forms of martial arts, he had grown at least a decent amount of skill in it. Some would way even a great amount of skill in it. After listening to the announcer, he would step towards the center of the arena, to meet his would be opponent. The red haired man knew nothing about his opponent, and in a sense that made it all more fun. Surprises tended to keep it interesting, and interesting was what he was here for. He was not what would be considered a thrill seeker, but he was intrigued.
