Post by Felicity 2nd April 2014, 5:47 am

The heat of the summer sun beats down into the cramped Oak Town, slowly roasting the pink haired woman from above; causing her eyebrows to scrunch up in irritation. Beads of sweat trickled down the sides of her face for a second, before dispersing off into thin air. You see, her control over her element extended to great lengths, so much so, that it came to use in conditions like these.
The ceiling called as sky trapped the dry air in the confined space. The pristine, polished white marble floor reflecting the closed shop windows as there was a strange reign of terror unleashing all around the lazy town.
The job papers spoke of some possessed individuals who were actually citizens of this town too. Before, some entity called as the Lich appeared and put them into their current condition.
"Who cares?" A question that escaped Aedre's lips drowsily, as the sweltering heat tried its best to burn away her very insides. Frankly, the Slayer didn't hold much concern as to what happened of the citizens of Oak Town or anything about this place for that matter. Her thoughts were only directed to this Lich, who had managed to grab the attention of Savage Skull's Guild Master; Harrigan. The raven-haired leader couldn't help but ask his niece to take care of this little problem. Fact was, Lich actually reminded everyone of Savage Skull's founder, Lichborne. He made quite the buzz after the guild attacked the city of Magnolia and the Legal Guilds had managed to defeat him. Aedre wasn't part of Savage Skull then, but she had heard of all the stories. Afterall, they were quite infamous around Fiore since then. But Harrigan's thoughts about this held sound and sensible reason, cause if this Lich created any sort of havoc around Oak Town, the Magic Council will straight away trace it to Savage Skull's front doors. Something that the guild didn't feel right to deal with at the moment, especially if it wasn't even their doing.
As someone who led the Shiro faction of the Kugeki, while also being the King of Deception, Aedre was the most suitable candidate for this job. This was a matter that needed delicate handling, with some swift and soundless arrangements taking place. It didn't need to make a lot of headlines.
So, even before the Magic Council would come to know of this pesky trouble in their area, the Shiro Kugeki had informed Aedre and she had transferred the information to Harrigan, almost obliging him to let her handle it.
Conclusively, it was all her fault.
Crossing her arms, the young lady's blue hues looked upto the equally blue sky, as it was set ablaze by the afternoon sun. She was supposed to wait for a partner now, someone who was appointed by the Magic Council. Funny was the fact that even Aedre was appointed on this mission by the Council, 'The joys of being such a good actor...'
A smirk instinctively made its way on her lips, she was true to her name; King of Deception.
'Though I still find Queen more.... fitting'

The magic council really were getting cocky. You help them once or twice and instantly if anything went wrong it was like 'Hey can you go fix this?'. It was like they thought he was their errand boy or something. Not that he cared really. Due to his rank as an S class wizard and his title as Wizard Saint, plus a few other things, he tended to only be sent on the really interesting jobs and this was one of them. A being known simply as the Lich was possessing people and causing them to wreak havoc as well as summoning some monsters and what not. Normally pristine and beautiful the charming little town of Oak was a place of darkness and fear now. It was strange that the mage's of this town, and he was almost certain some were around or nearby, hadn't dealt with it before it got out of control. Or perhaps they were the ones being posessed? Not that he cared really. All he knew was that he had to go rescue them and beat up this Lich. He had brought with him his partner Devon who was a useful ally and his closest friend. They'd been friends for years and he remembered her name and everything. That was a feat in itself. If you didn't stick in Zack's mind for some reason he could forget you in minutes. Even some of the best wizard's in the world didn't hold his attention for too long.

It seemed he was meet up with some other mage and with their help deal with the situation. He guessed they must be pretty powerful to be sent on a mission like this and he was curious as to who it was. Someone he had met before? Or a new temporary ally? It would be interesting to see. He flew through the air with Devon by his side till he came close to the town. Using his eyepatch he saw below him a strong aura of magic. It was mostly water based and had an internal feel suggesting a water slayer to him, but there was also an aura of internal darkness. It wasn't a demon slayer like himself or a god slayer. There's gave a more corrupted aura to the water aura. No, this was like two auras in one person. Thus this person must have a secondary magic of some kind. He guessed she was a water dragon slayer with shadow dragon lacrima. An interesting combination. He guessed her magic would be like ink or oil. He shrugged and dropped down like a bullet.

]"Look out below." he shouted and struck the ground nearby denting the ground slightly and sending up a cloud of dust. Somehow though when it cleared his clothing was entirely dust free. He shrugged and looked at the woman he had identified. "You here to deal with this possession business? Me too. The name's Zack Rose and this is Devon." he said as the insect winged girl landed next to him.

Ghosthunters! | Job | Aedre & Zack Empty Re: Ghosthunters! | Job | Aedre & Zack

Post by Felicity 5th April 2014, 3:46 am

It was one of those days when the sidewalks of Oak Town could have melted with the heat. The sun was a menacing, white-hot inferno which hung just low enough to scorch everything. There was a lack of the gentle breezes and movement on the street as well. Life was still, deathly quiet.
    Until, a voice pierced everything.
"Look out below." A male voice said, as Aedre's eyes shot in its direction, only to see someone landing on the ground from a height. She had no idea if this person had jumped from some rooftop or landed magically from the sky, she had only seen the cloud of dust that surrounded his body for a second or two. Instinctively, the pinkette waved her hand in front of her face, so that it did not cloud her vision and also noticed the little dent that had formed on the ground.
As the dust settled, she noticed a young man, somewhere near her own age, with messy, neck-length brown hair and an eyepatch on one of his eyes. Her calculating gaze only studied him for a second, taking in the tremendous magic power that wafted around him. The Magic Council always gave her interesting people to work with.
'Atleast, they're doing one thing correctly.'
"You here to deal with this possession business? Me too. The name's Zack Rose and this is Devon." The man, now named Zack in Aedre's head, introduced himself and a little fairy-like female that appeared next to him. The young woman instantly noticed Zack's scent; one that belonged to the Slayers and particularly similar to one of the many that Aedre knew until now. Most likely a Demon Slayer.
"Its a pleasure to make your acquaintance Mr.Rose and Devon." Aedre stated, even though a pleasure could have been replaced more suitably with interesting. The pinkette didn't offer her hand for a shake or anything, as she personally saw it as nothing but a formality. Besides, it was a gesture supposed to signify trust, but when you're with a mage who's from the other side of the alignment spectrum, trust is non-existent.
"I think we---" She started, trying to suggest some likely place that they could start their search for the Lich or the possessed civilans, but was brought to an abrupt stop when a low growl was heard from a distance. Aedre's sensitive hearing caught it and she was sure that Zack noticed it as well. Blue orbs squinted slightly at the source of the sound, noticing something moving in the shadow of a far away building. Since she was able to see through darkness, Aedre got the idea of what they were dealing with now. A demon, with skin as back as coal, glowing red eyes that shone through the darkness, cracked skin and notably sharp nails.
"We already have them welcoming us Zack." The pinkette let out, her eyes clearly pointing in the creature's direction.
At the same time, Aedre completely allowed her magic power to leak out in an explosive burst, creating a tremendous amount of pressure around her and letting it build in seconds. It was a sort of forewarning for the demon, but was now acting as a beacon for a couple of others too.
The creature in the shadow didn't move an inch, but instead the deserted street of Oak Town was set into motion as small clouds of red dust, swirled and danced like ancient spirits. A second later, something coalesced in the sky above, two orbs of black, slowly transforming into a couple of cloaked figures. One being slightly larger in size and carrying a staff, the other by its side; like a faithful servant.
Aedre could do nothing but stand in awe, her eyebrows scrunched up as she squinted to see what they really were.
"I see how it is... They finally sent someone strong, didn't they?" The larger one spoke, its voice nothing but a rattling whisper, which could send a shiver down your spine. It extended the hand that carried the staff, sending a pulse of magic that traveled all around, making a very noticeable change into the surroundings of Oak Town. It was suddenly dark now, the sun being no longer visible and the only light coming from some miscellaneous objects from far away. It was like evening... in a twisted way, since time had been reversed mysteriously.
Its hooded head turned to the creature beside him, causing it to swoop down onto the ground, looking all ready for a battle.
"Let's see how you deal with him and the others..." The creature in the sky spoke, while disappearing into thin air and leaving only a wisp of black mist behind. A hollow voice resounded in the air though, "I'll be watching from afar."
A strong sigh escaped Aedre, as she unsheathed two swords from the belt that she carried around her waist. Excalibur and Elucidator, recent gifts from her foster parent; something that she loved to use in battles.
"You guys just bored the hell out of me." She muttered under her breath, as she assumed a steady position with the teal and black swords in her hands.
"The Lich is always too kind... He should finish people off when he sees them." The hooded creature in front of them mumbled on his own, his voice as whispery as the one that left the scene sometime ago.
Realization dawned, albeit a bit late, 'That thing was the Lich?!'

She didn’t introduce herself, but that didn’t bother Zack. He’d probably just forget it anyway. Devon was slightly irked, but decided not to let it bother her for the time being as it was not relevant to the mission.  Besides, what caught both their eyes were the weapons that Aedre was wielding. Their attentions were even more aroused when she drew the weapons in response to the enemies arrival. Zack focused with his eyepatch. They looked like his swords, but one had an aura of water magic, the other an aura of shadow magic. He quickly lifted his eyepatch and reached in pulling out his two swords: Nobility of Notus and Bravery of Boreas. Swords that looked identical to those Aedre wielded, but possessed aura’s of wind instead. So she hadn’t stolen his swords and somehow changed them. No, she had her own versions. Physically identical, but magically different. ‘I knew I was famous, but people are mimicking my swords now? Plus she’s using two…is she mimicking my sword style as well?’ he thought but was snapped out of it by Devon.

“No time to think about that Zack.” she  said as if reading his mind. Zack nodded in agreement they had two opponents now. One with an aura of flame and darkness and the other with an aura of ice and darkness. The ice one was the stronger of the pair. Still, only two opponents. That was disappointing when there were three of them.

“Hey. We use the same swords…let’s see who uses them better.” Zack challenged as he charged the stronger of the opponents. Devon shook her head in disbelief, but stood back for now. She was here to help Zack and right now he didn’t need much. She would wait and watch for an opening. As Zack charged the mage a blast of black ice was shot towards him. A few icicles in fact. Zack grinned and with little effort used both of his swords to smash through the icicles causing the ice wraith to scream out in anger. Zack just grinned and moved forward not stopping until a huge wall of dark ice formed in front of him and then began to surround him. He grinned. This was going to be more fun than he thought. He could of flown straight up, but that was no fun. He instead leapt at the wall and propelled himself upwards via wall jumping.

Post by Felicity 9th April 2014, 6:22 am

Aedre knew that Zack was saying something, but she didn't have the right amount of patience to listen to it at the moment. She immediately turned into a shadow, manuvering her way straight to the demon that stood in the darkness. The young woman had not even caught a glimpse of Zack's swords, so she pretty much had no idea what the other Slayer could be saying about. Reaching up to the demon, she popped right behind him, being as soundless as ever.
A smirk gracing her lips, she slashed one of her swords against it back; causing it to bend ahead slightly, before turning around to face her.
"Bit of a stealth player. Hope you don't mind Mister." She spoke in a cocky tone, not being sure if it understood her, but still trying to get on its nerves.
"Hey. We use the same swords…let’s see who uses them better." Zack's voice hit Aedre's ears and her vision shifted in his direction.
    'Same swords? What nonsense...'
But the moment she noticed the blades that Zack was weilding as he fought the wraith, her gaze flattened with surprise. It was severely surprising, Aedre's swords looked completely identical to Zack's... completely, as if they were the same swords. He was actually making sense with that challenge.
"Sure." A reply that Zack will not even hear and Aedre had already turned her attention back to the demon in front. He had just completed preparing a spell; a small orb of condensed darkness that dispersed into several ribbon-like structures and made an attempt to wrap around Aedre's frame. Her smirk turned to a dark grin in a split second, as she puckered her lips and tried to pull the air inside. What attracted itself inside her mouth wasn't air, but the shadows from the Demon's spells. The creature had just seen its spell disappear into thin air; well to be exact, becoming Aedre's meal. A low grunt escaped its throat, signifying its confusion most probably.
But only a heartbeat was missed and the Demon extended both its arms outside, forming two fireballs and hailing it at Aedre's direction.
A disappointed click of her tongue was heard, as she moved one of her arms in front of her in a sweeping motion and the fireballs dispersed at the touch of her skin.
"Burns... but not much." She let out, as the slightly-red skin healed itself off in a jiffy.

Ghosthunters! | Job | Aedre & Zack Empty Re: Ghosthunters! | Job | Aedre & Zack

Post by Rosetta Crawford 9th April 2014, 12:24 pm

Zack neared the top and propelled himself out, grabbing hold of the edge and flipping himself round so he went down towards his opponent like a spear from heaven. The wraith, surprised by how easily Zack had escaped its prison threw up a barrier of shadows and ice which Zack hit like a hammer. The barrier was enough to stave off most of the damage, but not enough to prevent it all. Whilst the barrier held Zack off, the damage caused to the wraith caused its magic to falter briefly and the large ice pillar fell to pieces revealing Devon flying at him. Zack, sensing her presence, leapt upwards, using the barrier as a platform. The fairy warrior of Malkariss' spear hit the wraith hard through the chest and impaled him on the wall behind, but it wasn't enough to end its life. The wraith laughed and seemed to fade into a pool of shadows before reforming behind her. There was a gaping wound in its chest, but it was laughing as its icy claws reached for her. It was then that Zack came back down with a double slicing blow. "Nobody hurts my friends." he whispered as the dark icy creature faded into nothingness.

Devon turned and grinned at those words and then both warriors turned to watch Aedre in her battle. They had missed most of it, but saw her swat away the fireballs as if it was nothing. That was good. If such a weak attack phased her then she wouldn't be much fun at all if he used his full capabilities. He wouldn't have to hold back by the looks of it. That was good. He wasn't cocky when it came to his strength. He was just aware of his power levels and how they stacked up. He made sure he knew his limits and always tried to break those limits. That was one of his things. "All done over here." he called and began to look around. The magic of the Lich was quite impressive. He'd made it night so quickly. Yet, if Zack looked far away enough he could see sunlight. It appeared the night only covered the town and a bit of its surrounding environs. Still, an impressive display. He was looking forward to THAT fight.

He wondered how Aedre would use her swords. Would she fight like he did, relying on speed and agility to overwhelm an opponent, or would she use something else. He'd seen people use one sword for defense and another for attack before, but he wasn't really the defending type himself, unless it was to defend others.

Post by Felicity 10th April 2014, 3:07 am

Aedre's head had drilled her with patience. Severe patience. Because like any enthusiastic sword-weilding individual with a sharp, pointy thing in her hand, she was prone to energetically trying to replicate what experienced swordsmen used to do at light-speed. But that's not really conducive to learning how to do anything properly and somewhere in the back of her mind, she understood that. Learning any sort of physical motion effectively required Aedre to calm down and understand the pieces of the movement, then practice them until it was programmed into her muscle memory, then she could be able to replicate it effectively when she was in the adrenaline-driven insanity of fight or flight mode. It was also a good way to avoid cutting her own ear off. Her training during the past one year had helped quite a lot; for being someone who had never touched a sword was suddenly supposed to hurt and slay with it. It was really a bit too much to ask for.
With a slow blink, the young woman was off. All youth and lean muscle, she leapt forward with cat-like grace, cracking a smile and making a sure eye-contact. For a brief moment, she could see uncertainty in the creature's blood-red eyes. But it could have all been an illusion, made by the strange state of her mind at the moment. The heat of a battle really changed something inside the pinkette.
    Advancing. Advancing.
She charged at the monster with a foreswing with one sword, following it with a backswing on the other. It dodged the first attempt and met the second with his arm held infront. The weight and power of the stroke had sent him backpedaling, for blood oozed out of the deep cut that was left behind.
    Striking.
An arcing shot sliced the skin of the monster's midsection. It failed to be a crucial hit at the chest by perhaps a couple of centimeters. The beast staggered. Aedre swung, missing once again, though managing a deep gash on the coal-black flesh. It managed a smirk-like expression, maybe at the spryness of his dodge. Aedre had to admit it was impressive, but this time, the sight disappointed her severely.
Her training couldn't go to waste this way.
    Swing. Swing. Swing
The first two missed badly, but the third, a backswing off the one before it, done with another sword, found flesh. Then not wanting to lose this opportunity to strike, the Slayer drove the other sword through what might have been his stomach. It ate through the skin and organs as easily as air.
Then as soundless his entry might have been, the demon disappeared into a haze of black diaphanous smoke.
A sigh escaped her lips for the umpteenth number of times this day, as her eyes observed the still-immaculate blades. The demon's blood was some kind of illusion maybe, for it seemed to disappear along with it. It was a bit disheartening, since seeing her opponent's blood on the blade served as some sort of motivation for Aedre.
However, as she was busy observing the blades in the darkness of the illusionary night, three wraiths had approached the mage trio from the skies. Her eyes shot in their direction and fixated for a second, "Welcome welcome." She stated lazily, as she grazed one sword over another, letting the metal's voice hum in the air.

Three more ice wraiths. Interesting opponents to say the least. Particularly as once they were in range the three all launched a giant beast's head made of dark ice, one at each of them. They were huge, at least the size of a house. "These guys really do favour ice." Zack murmured and then his black sword began to radiate an intense aura of heat. "Let's see how strong it is." he said and flew straight at one of the large beast's heads swinging his sword. The intense heat the blade generated caused the ice to melt slightly, weakening it. Surprisingly, it didn't melt entirely, but combined with Zack's own strength it was enough to split the head in half and with a powerful split kick he sent the two items flying off into empty areas. The ice wraith's whose attack he had blocked let out an almost deafening shriek and launched a flurry of ice shards. Zack however, ignored them almost entirely and flew straight at the wraith. As he did so many of the shards melted due to the heat radiating from his black sword. The rest of the shard's that would of hit him were blocked with skillful and swift maneuvers of his green sword. As he got near the wraith it generated a pair of darkness blades that were strong enough to stop his attack. He grinned and began to battle the ice wraith in the air.

The intense heat generated from his black sword was what eventually broke through the powerful darkness swords and allowed him to score a powerful hit. It wasn't enough to end the beast, but it did cause it to vanish briefly and reappear at a distance surrounded now by an armor of darkness and wielding a powerful shield and sword. The shield looked like it was made of ice, but there was something odd about it. It was like a mirror. When Zack flew at the beast and struck it, with his weaker sword, the blade bounced back and out of his hand. It was a reflection shield. Zack's grin broadened as his sword quickly stopped flying away and game back to him. "Looks like you'll be fun." he said.

    -----------------------
Devon meanwhile had her own giant ice beast head to deal with her. Unlike Zack she had no way to immediately break through the ice attack. However, like him she was swift and had freedom of movement so quickly flew off to the side narrowly avoiding it. The only reason Zack hadn't done the same is he wanted to test his strength against such a powerful projectile. It seemed that his destruction of the head had also served another purpose because when the head landed the ice and darkness spread forming an actual beast made of the dark ice that let out a roar and charged at her. It was like a black lion with a mane of snow plus ice spikes all over it. A tough opponent. Plus there was the other wraith who floated down and launched a powerful beam of darkness which she narrowly avoided. Yet that put her in danger of the mighty beast which swept its claw at her. Fortunately, she was swift enough to defend herself with her spear avoiding cutting damage, but she was sent flying by the power of the blow and launched through two buildings. Today was not her day.

Aedre was taken in for quite a surprise when the beast-like head made of ice flew in her direction. Her gaze flattened for a second, but she immediately shook herself back to proper senses, as she hit the head with the flat side of both her blades, using them like some sort of a bat.
The head changed directions for a moment, giving her the chance to steady her footing and facing it properly.
The pinkette positioned her swords on both sides, waiting for the head to strike again.
It did. Wind swirling behind it as a helix due to its speed.
    Slash. Slash.
It came quite easy, two slashes that landed diagonally on its face-like structure, cutting off some big chunks of the ice. The pieces landed on the paved floor, shattering like million shards of a crystal or glass.
'Fragility.' That's what this kind of ice represented and Aedre understood it quite well. The realization cased a calculating smirk to break onto her face.
The beast head made a deep dive, aiming for her legs, as if trying to make her lose balance. But Aedre was a bit too prepared for this kind of trick and she simply took a jump-step at the crucial moment, thus landing her foot on top of its head. She used this to her advantage, not by climbing, but using a good amount of her strength to crush it beneath her feet, causing its lower jaw to clash with the floor with a loud sound. Some amount of ice cracked and broke off once again, but against what Aedre had concluded, it did not break completely, which caused her upper lip to curl in disdain.
With a click of her tongue that indicated disappointment the young woman held her sword high above her head, its tip pointing for the ice-beast's head, before crashing it straight into the frozen mass. Due to the sword being thrust deep in the center, the ice managed to crack gravely this time, a second later; breaking into several pieces and falling on all sides.
The tip of the sword was left hanging in the air and Aedre retracted it by resting its blade on her shoulder, just when one of the Wraiths flew towards her direction, shooting out a couple of ice pieces.
With a simple swipe of her other sword, the pinkette moved it out of the way, staring into the place where she expected its face to be, "Warning you, it has to be a fair fight. No tricks."
With that, the woman turned her body into a shadow, coming back in the shade of a nearby house, "And I'm the only one who's exempt from the rules!" She exclaimed out, causing the wraith to turn its head in all directions and searching for her.
You see, the Slayer was nearly invisible in the darkness. Just a pep in the step for the Deception Queen.

Zack flew forward and parried a blow from the dark sword of his opponent. However, rather than trying to strike he dropped one of his swords causing it to float next to him and grabbed hold of the shield. "No hogging the fancy shield." he said and used all his strength to tear it from the wraith's hand and tossed it at the head of the other wraith, the one attacking devon, who was momentarily dazed by the strike. "You have to share these things with your friends." Zack however had not ignored the wraith he was blocking and his other sword, the one he was controlling telekinetically had moved and struck at the back of the wraith's leg, a weak point in the armor, and sliced the leg clean off. The wraith howled out in pain and that was when Zack struck ramming his hot blade straight through the wraith's face. It dissolved and reformed in a much weakened state. It wasn't yet dead, but it was so far weakened. He lunged forward and stabbed with both blades again. The wraith tried to raise up a wall of ice, but Zack's hot sword slashed through it like a hot knife through butter. Unfortunately, the wraith managed to dodge the blow and conjured up another one of the ice beasts that was facing Devon before it dissolved. It seemed it had used the last of its magic to create this beast. Strange that it didn't dissapear on the wraith's death. IT was if it had created a living organism rather than a spell. Very interesting.

    --------------------
Devon meanwhile was less luckly. The dazing of the wraith had given her the chance to focus entirely on the beast, which she would have to thank Zack for later, but it was still difficult. Her strength was not enough to penetrate the ice beast though. Yet she could change that and with a flourish and a glow her spear changed. "Seven Virtues: Diligence." she stated. The shape of the spear's head changed to a spear possessing a triangular-shaped blade with two curvy, yellow lines located at the center. The red edges of the spear started out wavy, but straightened up around the middle section of the spear-head to form a sharp point. The red triangular-shaped blade was being supported by an invert diamond-like shape, which surrounded a light, silver color and a much darker shade at the center. This was the Diligence spell. It boosted her strength by 30%. She flew at the ice beast and struck it directly in the face. The force of the blow was enough to shatter off a large chunk of its face. Sure, it wasn't dead, but it was hurt badly.

The wraith's hollow eyes searched desperately for even a thin trace of its adversary. Surely, she couldn't hide in the darkness for too long, especially when her opponent was a creature of the darkness himself. With a low grunt-like sound, the wraith produced a sword made of dark and gleaming ice in his bony hand, a true excellence in its shape and size, the weapon only made the opponent even more formidable for Aedre.
There was no smartness or tactic involved in hiding for too long, it was only a momentary distraction afterall. A little break to get her thoughts straight and concentrate a bit more. There were much chances of digging into your opponent's weaknessess when there was calm on your side, or so the pinkette believed.
A swift movement of her legs, followed by her enitre body morphind into a mass of darkness that glided towards the wraith's blind spot; his back. The lithe frame of Aedre coalesced into existence and a well-balanced thrust was issued with one of her blades. However, the creature was not to be underestimated, for he had figured out the light change in the movement of the wind near his back and had actually turned behind in a blur.
The dark and icy sword blocked Aedre's blade successfully, causing a low, hiss-like whisper leave the confines of the wraith's hood. Perhaps a chuckle, which was nothing more than a hint of over-confidence. The lack of the aforementioned quality was the biggest strength of Aedre and she was smart enough to realize it and use its positive aspects to her benefits.
Some handful of swift movements, in an attempt to make two stabbing thrusts and a wild slash; albeit uncoordinated and awkward. They were made with two swords instead of one, created in the blind spot of the Slayer's vision.
With a white smile and glinting crystal-blue eyes, the pinkette's right arm went straight out to the side, presenting Excalibur at a perfect angle to deflect the sidelong slash way up high, while her left hand worked over and in, driving one side of Elucidator down across both stabbing blades. Down came Excalibur as Elucidator retracted, to slam against the extended swords, and down and across came the darker of the two swords, to hit her opponent again. A subtle dip and duck backward had the young woman's head clear of the outraged creature's backhand slash, and Aedre snapped Excalibur up quickly enough to stick the wraith in the hand as the sword whistled past.
It howled and let go, one of the ice swords flying free.

Post by Rosetta Crawford 12th June 2014, 1:28 pm

Zack's opponent was not a wraith, but the wraith's magic. An ice beast and a powerful one at that. He flew forward like a bullet at it. The beast swung its claws and roared, but Zack merely roared back and swung the blade with the burning blade enhancement. It was like a hot knife through butter shearing the icy claw straight off the beast. As he sliced he spun and kicked the icy shard straight at the dazed wraith that Devon had been facing. The blow was enough to send it crashing into the ground. He paused briefly thinking about it. He wouldn't of liked her to interfere in his fight and she normally wouldn't like him interfering in hers. He hadn't meant to interefere, but he had done it by instinct. It seemed it had helped, but it was perhaps something she wouldn't appreciate. The brief pause was also not his wisest move. The ice beast used the opening to strike him with its other paw and he went flying into a roof and straight through it. The beast did not let up and lunged at him smashing into him once more. "I thought karma was meant to reward good deeds." Zack said and exerted his strength ramming the burning blade into its head slicing into it. It leapt off and let out a roar. "I'll show you who the real beast is."

    ------------------------

Devon's wraith opponent really was dazed now. It had been hit by that shield earlier and now it was hit powerfully by a huge shard of ice. Sure it was an ice wraith, but the weight of it would hurt like hell. She had to grin when she saw him pause briefly. "Idiot." she said before launching herself at the ice beast stabbing into the head and smashing it further. It wasn't enough to bring it down quite yet, but it was enough to do some serious damage. "I'm the real demon here." she said and then swung the spear again faster then the beast could react and smashed the head destroying it entirely causing the beast to crumble into pieces. Now all she had to do was deal with the final opponent, for now at least. The ice wraith. A tougher opponent if she could judge it in the same way Zack's had been. Then again he'd been fighting his at full strength. Her's had been dazed quite badly. It would be interesting to see how tough it was. She flew at it ready to strike.

Aedre's features changed into a cringe when she heard the wraith howling and she tightened the grip on her swords, "You annoy me buddy." She muttered beneath her breath, while trying to stab at the place where she supposed its chest would be. But, the creature dodged by floating out of the way- and actually launched about a dozen ice spikes in her direction.
With her arm outstretched due to the failed attack, the pinkette could not even think of dodging the incoming attack, for two of the pieces had already nicked her without any realization. One had managed to tear open the flesh on her hand, thus causing a minor cut, while the other simply grazed her right cheek. Most of the ice pieces had missed, due to the simple fact that the Wraith's attack was hurried and not thought-out. A basic instinctive reaction is what its essence really was.
But, the commendable part of the attack was- had the second ice spike been aimed a little up and to the left, it would've perhaps stolen Aedre's eyesight.
The young woman grinded her teeth slightly, as she regained some composure and let out a low, seething breath.
"You're not getting away with that." She stated, while the Wraith seemed to prepare another attack by placing its two hands close to each other- thus making a small, bright orb of incandescent light.
Just to maintain a safe distance, the Slayer jumped a couple of steps back, as she started rotating both the swords in her hands in small circular movements. A swirl of black and blue energy would originate from the base of the blades, running along the length of the sword; before elongating in size and growing longer. In a few seconds, the energy would change into the two elements that Aedre weilded- water and shadows; each running on the respectively colored blades.
Right now, Aedre held two whip-like structures in her hand, that twirled around the blades like a twister and were as flexible as a rope.
With a small jerk of her feet, the Slayer took a jump forward, planted that feet on the ground and turned around on it- as she hit the wraith with the whip made of water. Just as she did so, her other foot will be off the ground due to the sharp turn from before; and Aedre will use the same momentum to leap off the ground and perform a backslash movement in the creature's direction, thus letting the shadow whip hit it with full force.
Aedre will land on the ground with some cat-like grace, facing the wraith once again, who had actually landed straight into a nearby house's wall and almost destroyed it in the process.
The creature tried to straighten up when it noticed the pinkette standing only a couple of feet away- and it made a grunt-like noise to express the pain it was feeling.
A smirk graced the young woman's lips, as she spread both her arms on either side of her body, before bringing them close against each other- thus letting the whips catch certain momentum and then fuse together with a great pulsating movement. Water and shadow would mix together, creating a gigantic twister of blue and black; before shooting in the wraith's direction and crashing it into the wall.

Such fury, such power, such...a waste of potential. Zack lunged forward a look of determination ons his face. His speed was more than enough to deal with this beast. Besides it was a beast of ice and his sword was one of fire. What chance did it stand? Now normally Zack would hold back and let the battle play out. He wouldn't even go for the kill unless he had to, but this beast was not going to come back again to challenge him and there was no time to waste. He lunged forward at blistering speed and with a single powerful blow sheared through the head of the ice beast. To his surprise it split into two beasts and both attacked him. He grinned, perhaps they would pose a challenge to him, and spun slicing both into pieces. This time they did not split again. This time both were destroyed. He shook his head. He had been hoping for more of a challenge once they split. He had expected more from the wraiths final spell. Still, there was no time to waste. They had citizens to save and a powerful entity to defeat.

He turned to watch Devon as she fought against the ice wraith. Her skill was not as high as his, nor were his physical abilities, but she was far smarter in battle. He relied on instincts and skilled honed through years of fighting. She relied on analysis and timing combined with the power of her spear. She lunged forward using the fact the ice wraith was dazed to her advantage and stabbed at him. Her blade hit him in the chest, but did not pierce the flesh or whatever the wraith had in place of it. No, instead it launched the wraith back into a wall. It shook its head recovering slowly from its daze, but she would not allow it that chance. SHe lunged forward this time smashing it through the wall with a blow to the head. Her attacks were precise and brutal. She was showing no quarter. In desperation the ice wraith through up a wall of ice, but it was not enough to stop her, merely slow her down. She smashed through the wall and that was when she struck the final blow piercing it straight through the stomach. The shadowy ice creature let out a piteous moan and then faded. The wraith had fallen now.

"Zack is not the only demon slayer here." she whispered as she spun her spear and turned to see how the others were faring. It seemed to her that the battle was done for now, but she did not relinquish the magic on her spear. No, she might need it yet. She watched as Zack descended his clothing still pristine despite the fight he had just been in. She nodded to him in affirmation. The battle was won for now. "We shouldn't waste time here." she said and began to head off towards the center of the town. Zack nodded and headed after her at high speed. They had a job to finish.

The water splashed all around, as the shadows pierced like metal blades into the wraith's body. The creature howled once again, shrieking in its pain- before its body simply dissipated into thin air; a plume of black mist that didn't leave behind a single trace of its existence.
With a sigh, Aedre rested one of her blades on her shoulder, while turning behind to look at how Zack and Devon were faring.
To her amazement, both of them were nowhere to be seen and nor could there opponents be seen.
'What in the name of-' A half-framed thought came to her mind, but just then, she caught their scents; faint and wavering but surely theirs. Atleast, there were some perks of training under a dragon.
The woman's blue orbs fixated on the path where she could smell them and with a shake of her head, Aedre tried to ponder as to where they could have headed off to.
Her eyebrows scrunched up in concentration, before she remembered the Lich's words- he did state that he would be watching from afar; and the best place to keep an eye would be at some height.
Aedre vision trailed her partner's footsteps and only ended at the sighting of a huge tower, located in the center of Oak Town- apparently of some strategic importance to the place.
The pinkette nodded to herself, as she disappeared into the shadow beneath her feet- her aims set on reaching the foot of that tower.
Soundlessly, the woman's frame came into existence beneath the tower- while she came to notice the silhouettes of Zack and Devon approaching from afar. But, just as she was about to walk out of the shadow of the building- a hard punch landed on her face; nearly knocking the Slayer off her feet. But, she recovered as quickly as the surprise attack had came in and instinctively went for a full spin, while her foot was lifted off the ground and went for a kick at whoever the attack was.
It all happened in a matter of a single second and Aedre felt her leg hitting flesh and move past- while she went ahead to assume a battle stance and standing firmly on both feet.
Her opponent gasped in pain- apparently registering the impact quite sometime later... But, that wasn't the real problem at hand.
Before her stood, a very strange entity and she was unable to peel her eyes away from its ghastly, towering features. It had a human-like body, with its face sunken in and eyes unfocused. Its mouth twitched and drooled as if craving for something, anything- anything breathing and with a beating heart. The smell of its rotting face made Aedre's stomach churn without consent. Its nails were dark and bloody, but no one could be sure if it was blood dripping from them or not. The gross discolored skin was falling apart tortuously- from its muscles, from its bones. Once could see everything that one din't want to.
"You're ugly as hell." The only sentence that spilled forth from the Slayer's lips, as she cringed and took a step back due to disgust.

Ghosthunters! | Job | Aedre & Zack Empty Re: Ghosthunters! | Job | Aedre & Zack

Post by Rosetta Crawford 19th July 2014, 10:29 am

Zack raised an eyebrow as from out of nowhere five new assailants arrived. Two were humanoid and their auras were that of both darkness and ice with a strange shape to to it. It seemed that both of them were grotesque, faces drawn and sunk in and flesh hanging out. Yet that appeared to be just a trick of their possession. Or so he hoped anyway because if it wasn't then when these lost their possession they would likely die unless it somehow reverted. Aedre was facing one of these, but the other was staring directly at Zack with a hunger to it as if it wanted to devour him. There were two ice wraiths as well as some kind of demonic creature of fire. He paused briefly. A hell fire demon. "The hellfire demon is yours Devon." he said preparing his swords. He had to destroy the ice wraiths swiftly so he could focus on knocking out the possessed human to free them from the dark one's control. He lunged forward suddenly, fire still on one of his blades.

"Death by slicing." he shouted and in the space of a second he sliced one of the ice wraiths seven times leaving a rough heptagram which blasted them back adding to the damage. An artifact grade weapon with s rank fire enhancement was far too much for the ice wraith and it melted away. The other however had moved away and the possessed human leapt at him punching him in the face hard and sending him flying through several walls.

"Ice make: Vambrace." it had hissed for its already super strong arm had been enhanced by an icy arm which was why it had successfully sent Zack flying. It laughed as did the remaining ice wraith. Zack emerged from the rubble and shook himself off. Despite the damage he had just received there was a grin on his face.

"Looks like this is gonna be a bit tougher than I thought." the flame on his sword dissapeared. It would be a while before he could use it again. Oh well, he had other tricks up his sleeve.

Devon lunged at the hellfire demon with her spear at the ready. It was still in the power form and using it she smashed into the demon. It roared out and held against her blow, but it was clear it was injured quite heavily. She smiled. "So you aren't weak...perfect." she liked a good fight as much as Zack and she had been worried this guy would be too easy compared to the ice wraith and beast she had fought earlier. She was happy.

Ghosthunters! | Job | Aedre & Zack Empty Re: Ghosthunters! | Job | Aedre & Zack

Post by Felicity 20th July 2014, 8:30 pm

Aedre wasn't paying much attention to the surroundings, since her senses were keenly tuned onto the grotesque creature infront of her- at the moment, her only aim was to get rid of this. Well, getting rid would be the wrong term, since the job sheet clearly instructed that she was not allowed to kill these people, because they were the civilians of the city itself. This condition posed as some sort of a challenge for the young woman, since she was used to fighting without any constraints placed on her.
Kill was not the only word etched into her mind, yet it was what always ended up happening and she wasn't one to complain.
However, this time, she was supposed to work under the rules. If she failed to do so, the job would end up as a simple waste of time.
'Can't let that happen now.' Aedre mused within her head, as her opponent took a nasty step forward- smooth and lightning-fast, he tried to perform some kind of a karate-chop and aimed it at the pinkette's neck. With her breath hitching in her throat for a single second, Aedre made a sudden dive to the right; in an attempt to move out of the way and ended up by lodging on of her swords in a nearby wall and even backing up against it.
A sly grin like motion made its way on the possessed civilians face, while he slashed his hand diagonally in Aedre's direction and sent some wave-like projection made of dark energy.
Trying to dislodge her sword from the cement wall behind her, Aedre deflected the wave with her other sword and sent it flying into some random direction in the air, "Try something better than that." She stated, her voice mocking and cold, clearly disdaining the generic attempt made by her opponent.
The civilian growled in a rage, its sound deep and gurgling in his throat and he ran forward to attack the the Slayer. For a heartbeat, Aedre's blue hues tightened as she managed to pull out the sword of the wall and nearly lost her footing due to the force that she was exerting. Yet, using the same forward momentum, the pinkette turned around slightly, placing the sword in such a way that the speeding opponent himself rammed the sword straight into its own belly.
It let out an odd scream, as Aedre pulled out the sword and backed away by a step, her mind working furiously on what her next attack could be. At the same time, she watched the wound of the possessed civilian healing itself for some reason.
With a click of her tongue, and a nod to herself, Aedre sprinted in the civilians direction, this time hoping to chop him into pieces.
Several thuds echoed in the street, as a great number of ice spikes fell straight from the sky and in front of Aedre- thus blocking her way. The spikes were as tall as her and acted as barricades, protecting her opponent from her fury.
"Not so easily, you have to first go through me~" A low, chilling and hissing voice spoke and Aedre's vision soon rested on its origin. Another ice wraith.
"Sure then. You're gonna help me vent up my anger, for I was about to kill this thing. Now I can do that to you, for you don't matter anyways." She spoke; one of her swords pointing out the civilian on the other side of the ice spikes.
"You know what? I think its time that I get serious in this battle- I've been holding back too much." The pinkette quipped, while the sword in her hand disappeared into thin air.
Magic was soon going to turn into might.

Post by Rosetta Crawford 21st July 2014, 12:16 pm

It seemed that the other ice wraith would not be an opponent for Zack to deal with and instead it would belong purely to Aedre. That suited him down to the ground as he could spend some time fighting this possessed human and try to bring him down without hurting or killing him. He lunged forward suddenly, but as he did the human formed a hand gesture and then slammed his hand to the ground.

"Ice make: Wall." he stated and a large barrier of ice formed. Unfortunately, Zack no longer had his fire swords or he would of just cut straight through it. "Shadow Make: Wolf." the man stated and as if from nowhere a wolf sprang into existence and straight at Zack. Zack sliced through it with ease and then focused and seemed to vanish. The man looked about wildly trying to see where Zack had gone. It was then that they were kicked from behind straight into the wall. They hit it hard and turned to see Zack surorunded in a red aura. "Ice make: Spear." the mage said and from the wall extended numerous ice spears that launched themselves at Zack. He grinned and exhaled surrounding himself in an aura of green. With the boost provided by that he easily deflected and destroyed the ice spears. However, it seemed it had just been a distraction because suddenly there was a cry of "Shadow make: Dragonfly ." And he was hit with a barrage of large dragonflies composed of shadow. He shook off the blow and grinned broadly still.

"You're a tough opponent." he said with a chuckle. "Much more fun than those ice wraiths. Shame I can't go all out really"

    ---------------------
Devon meanwhile was against the hellfire demon who was surprisingly tough. After the initial blow it had leapt back and slammed its hands together before a huge array of fire balls were launched towards her. She was hard put to block them, particularly with her spear in this form. If she'd been in the speedier form it would of been easy, but as such it was tricky. The beast kept up this seemingly endless array of fireballs as if trying to keep her away. It would not succeed for with a battle cry of 'For Malkariss' she charged forward ignoring many of the fireballs and battling away more. The beast yelped out in surprise and fear but was rammed through the chest by her spear. "Nice try." she said, but was forced to leap back, dropping her spear in the process as it shot a breath of fire from its mouth. She flew up into the air on her fairy wings and dropped down. Not onto the beast, but onto her spear. Thus, the spear blade sliced upwards effectively bifurcating the hellfire demon. "But I am from Malkariss and your fire is weak."

    ----------------
Zack raised an eyebrow as he heard the battle cry and glanced over to Devon. It was at that point that the man came charging forward once more covering his arm in ice to enhance his strength. This time though Zack was ready and without looking sidestepped and spun kicking the man in the head. The force of the blow was added to because the man ran into the foot and Zack was insanely strong at the moment. So powerful in fact that the man went flying backwards straight through his own ice wall leaving a comic-book style hole. Yet the possessed man wasn't done yet. With a roar the ice wall fell and he stood there with a ball of shadow in hand and threw it straight at Zack. "Shadow make: Devil's hand grenade." As the ball came towards Zack he attempted to slice it in two, but that just triggered it and the explosion sent him flying through several walls.

Post by Felicity 22nd July 2014, 9:49 am

"Ice Make : Water Serpent!" The wraith shouted in its hissing voice, as some amount of cold air leaked out of what seemed to be the creature's hands- held together in a stance generally related to Make-mages.
Aedre simply raised a mocking eyebrow, while a half-formed grin appeared on her features, "Did you just say... Water?" The woman questioned, as she raised her arms around her in a forty-five degree angle. The magic power withing her would begin to consolidate, while the teasing set of blue eyes closed themselves for a single second.
A bright-cyan colored magic circle opened beneath the Slayer, casting an ethereal light around her and then beginning to spin in place- with Aedre being its center.
At the same time, the wraith would let his hands up in the air, as a large, white, pentacle shot into the sky and a heartbeat later, transformed into two, serpent shaped ice-make structures; moving forth in Aedre's direction from their colossal height.
"Tidal Dragon's Judgement!" The pinkette muttered, as she opnened her eyes and caused several jets of water to sprout from beneath her feet and shoot all around her- acting as an effective barrier and some sort of a personal hurricane.
The snake's head would come down at a great speed, clacking their jaws together- but would only end up colliding with the streams of water that rotated around the Slayer.
Loud cracks echoed within the immediate area, as the heads cracked away from the body and were sent crashing into the ground, where they simply disintegrated into several pieces.
The same process followed with the entire body, for the frozen structure collided with the torrents and ended up destroyed.
At the very moment, Aedre morphed her entire body into shadows, while leaping off the ground and taking a position right behind the unsuspecting wraith and landing a spinning kick on its back, thus sending the creature crashing into the ground. As the Slayer landed on the floor, the cry of, "Ice Make : Eagle!" sounded out loud in that air and she felt a strong pang of pain in the back, while sliding a few feet ahead due to the impact of the ice creation behind her.
"Backstabbing little vermin." She muttered beneath her breath, feeling the wind's motion as the wraith sped near to her and shouted, "Shadow Punch!"
"Not so fast!" Aedre exclaimed, as her left hand blocked the punch and her right hand held the attacking wrist with all her strength. The young woman tore of the shadows enveloping the wraith's fist, in an action similar to tearing off a paper from notice board- holding the wisp of darkness as if it were a materialized mass.
Her grip on the wraith's wrist tightened, almost cracking its feeble bone- and it howled due to the pain.
"You were heroic a bit before, right? Standing up for your comrade, am I correct?" She questioned in a monotonous voice, while using all her strength to swing the creature by the arm and throwing it in the direction of the possessed civilian. The two tumbled over each other and hit the cold hard floor with low thuds.
"That's where such actions get you to. Utter defeat."

Ghosthunters! | Job | Aedre & Zack Empty Re: Ghosthunters! | Job | Aedre & Zack

Post by Rosetta Crawford 23rd July 2014, 11:52 am

The dragonflies had hit him quite hard, but what this mage didn't know was that Zack posessesed the blood of an ancient mercenary. His blood was called Immortal Blood and as such it healed him at an accelerated rate. Plus he was a slayer so his endurance was naturally higher than most. He shook himself off and then lunged at the target before he had a chance to react. He had dropped his swords now, though they floated beside him, and when he got close he struck with a powerful palm strike to the mage's face sending him flying backwards once more.

"Shadow make: Teddy Bear." the mage said and a large plush animal made of shadows formed behind him preventing him from receiving the full extent of the blow, which would of been him launching through several walls. It was however not the most intimidating or fearsome of attacks and Zack could not help, but laugh. The man did not seem pleased. "Shadow Make: Grizzly." The bear transformed changing from that of a lovable stuffed plushy into that of a fearsome grizzly bear. It charged at him, but despite its fearsome nature it was quite slow and Zack dodged past it. It did however seem that this was as the man had expected for he grinned grimly and spoke the words. "Ice make: Turret."

Zack leapt to the side, but was too late and was hit by a huge blast of cold air that not only hit him hard, but seemed to freeze him solid. The possessed man grinned as the bear turned, a large ice turret upon its back. "Its over demon of the sky." The beast rose up with its mighty paws ready to strike at the frozen Zack, but it was then that the swords took action. One flew at the beast slicing it across the face and pushing it back whilst the other struck at the ice beginning to break it apart. Eventually it had caused enough cracks that with a huge burst of strength the ice shattered sending shards everywhere.

"You almost had me there." Zack said with a chuckle. It had been quite close. It was fortunate his swords had not been frozen with him. He lunged suddenly at the beast both swords going to his hands and in a blur he sliced it to pieces. "You still gonna keep fighting?" The mage growled and formed another gesture. Zack nodded. "Just the way I wanted it."

"DARK ICE MAKE: DRAGON KING" he roared and from out of nowhere a huge dragon like figure formed. It was formed out of a black ice that looked like the rare gemstone known as jet. Zack raised an eyebrow, but grinned preparing himself. It seemed he was destined to fight giant ice beasts today.

Ghosthunters! | Job | Aedre & Zack Empty Re: Ghosthunters! | Job | Aedre & Zack

The wraith floated back into the air with a growl, as it managed to spread its feeble arms on both sides, while hissing in its wispy little voice, "That's it. I will defeat you now. One on one."
The statement brought forth nothing but a smirk on the Slayer's face, as she squinted in a mocking manner, while bringing the hand holding the shadows of the wraith near her mouth and seemingly taking a bite from it. The wraith's frame ignited with a blue aura, while its magical energy consolidated heavily and a large amount of icy mist seeped out of the ground behind it, "ICE MAKE : RAMPART!".
With a loud crack, an entire crystalline wall appeared right behind him; thus blocking the possessed civilian from view. Aedre could see the logic behind this strong, yet fake bravery when it came to protecting the civilan. For it only made sense, as the possessed citizens were a rarer sight and the moment Aedre or Zack would end up defeating all of them- the game would be near damn over. Afterall, that's what this job was all about; saving the civilians from the grip of this strange possession.
"Fine then, go ahead and show me what you're made of!" The pinkette exclaimed, as massive streams of water jutted from the magic circle beneath her feet, acting as a personal force of defense.
"ICE MAKE : WOLF!" The wraith screamed, while an animate wolf made of ice appeared infront of Aedre, pouncing straight for the Slayer at the drop of a hat. It tore through very air, maw open and ready to bite off the woman's skin if given the chance. However, Aedre couldn't let it be that easy...
In what seemed to be nothing but a blur of several hasty actions, the beast's lower jaw was being held by the pinkette's left hand- as her right arm landed a heavy punch on its head and shattering some of the ice, while nearly cracking it in the process. The beast's frozem teeth dug further into the skin on her other arm, causing Aedre to lose her grip and allowing the wolf to take a few steps back.
The ice beast growled under its breath, trying to assume an intimidating position and probably thinking of attacking once again. But little would he know...
"I'm not letting you do that once again." Aedre spoke, while examining the bite marks on her hand, which were actually far too deep in her skin now- the only better face was that the wounds were not bleeding, since the ice was apparently blunt in nature.
The woman closed and opened her fist a few times, as an ethereal light enveloped her other hand and she swung it in a sweeping arc; aiming a crescent-shaped water projectile at the ice creation. The projectile was fast and lethal, so it would simply cut the ice beast into half; as its lower body encompassing its legs would tumble down on the floor and its upped body would be sent flying a bit ahead due to the momentum of the crescent. The piece of ice will shatter down on the floor later on, as Aedre sent five more projectiles in the direction of the floating wraith.
