Illya took a deep breath in, taking in the sights, sounds, and smells of the nighttime party within the bustling capital of Fiore. The annual summer festival rolled around, and Illya was glad to come there alongside a few other members of her guild: her friend Jariel, the other Illya, and another newcomer in Juliet. The idol was glad to be there, though she admittedly was slightly incognito so as to not draw too much attention to the rapidly rising in fame actress, idol, and model.

"All of this looks so fun guys, right?" Illya asked her fellow guildmates as they neared the sight where most of the festival would be taking place. "I mean, there's so much stuff around! Drinks, music, dancing, heck, everything looks great, don't you all think? Ooh, what should we all do first? I kinda wanna try some of the music stuff out, that seems awesome! But, I'll wait for the rest of you guys to choose. Even though I'm higher rank within Dies Irae than the rest of you, I wanna listen to what you guys all wanna do."

A smirk rose across her face as she looked at the rest of her guildmates. They were a ragtag bunch, certainly, though Illya wondered if people would be able to tell that they were all associated with each other. Illya, at the very least, was not wearing her uniform, opting rather to wear a fancy dress with a distinct red and pink feel to it, still painting the identity of Dies Irae across her personage. While it did little to hide her identity, she had hoped that her outfit was fancier for what the rest of the people of Crocus would have expected her to wear. After all, Illya had made an identity of looking more casual with her outfits as opposed to the distinct gleaming of fanciness this dress gave her. Despite the billowing skirt of the dress, she was remarkably still able to move well in it, unhindering her from any events she wanted to do, though now she merely just waited for her cohorts to decide what they wanted to do.

    Bright Lights of Summer! T9beJCI

Before they had left the guild hall for the capitol, someone, whose appearance had luckily for them gone undetected by Juliet, had said wasn't she a bit overdressed? Originally, the mage had been planning to go in her ordinary uniform, the same one she wore practically every day. Clearly military garb, in primarily black with matching boots and a red capelet. Naturally, the girl had paused. Even though she couldn't ascertain where the comment had originated from, she was willing to take it into consideration. That was why... Juliet was wearing a much more casual outfit now. With sunglasses to protect her from the flashing lights and earplugs tucked away in a pocket just in case, her outfit was extremely out of character for the girl. But hey, she was only human, and she wasn't intending to stick out like a sore thumb.

Glancing over to her side, the mage felt confident that if anyone were to appear strange, it would be one of her guild mates. Illya Pegasus, for example, wore a ridiculous, traditional esque ball gown that Juliet thought would be more suited for a meeting with some prince of Minstrel than a rave. Going undetected was preferable for Juliet, though. It had to be taken into consideration that Illya loved to be noticed. Her other guild mates were... doing their own thing. Juliet, personally, hated parties. First of all, there was the drinking that went on. The girl detested the concept of being influenced by substances whose effects were out of her control. And then... there was the dancing. She took a step back, away from the direction they were headed. The music was loud and clearly audible even from here, still a decent ways away down the block from where the partying was actually going on. "..." Grudgingly, she followed the group.

As they got closer, Illya began chattering away even more, the mage unable to prevent herself from sharing her thoughts out loud. Yes. So much fun. "I'm going to sit in the corner and keep track of everyone to make sure you don't die," the girl deadpanned, but she was only half joking. Who knew what Dies Irae members looked like when partying. Hopefully nobody would get sliced and diced by a rampaging Illya who decided arbitrarily that someone was dark. Actually, now that Juliet was looking closer at the corner of the block, just a few meters away, there seemed to be quite a few people gathered around a complicated looking machine. Intrigued, as she always was by technology, Juliet stepped forward, glancing back at the group to make sure she wasn't about to wander off too far. After all, someone had to make sure nobody got in trouble tonight. "What is this?" She was about to ask a woman who was also peering down at the electronic, before suddenly it lit up and began to rise in the air, glowing intensely with multicolored lights. "Ah!"

Inadvertently, Juliet took a step back, bumping into someone, who moved out of the way, letting her stumble backwards until she found herself facing the person who had let her in, now moving back into place and trapping her within the circle. "... What?" The mage tried to push her way through, but nobody would budge. "Nobody leaves this circle until you win or lose!" A voice announced from behind her, and Juliet whirled around to see a girl with vibrant red hair in a fun outfit approaching. Suddenly, from her side, another one melted out of nowhere?? Ah... they must have been twins. Straightening up, the mage eyed them dubiously, but she also searched for her guild mates out of her peripheral vision. "... I don't want to dance, so let me out," Juliet told them plainly, but they shook their heads. "Nuh uh," the second one said, "That's breaking the rules of the game." Frustrated, Juliet tried to compromise, "Well, I can't hope to beat you with just myself, it's two against one." She would attempt to reason with them, only for the first twin to disagree. "Mm, just find someone to partner with, yo!" They looked at her expectantly.

    It was… busting.

The waves from the music beaming across the capital was only louder through his Demon Slayer ears. It was an area within his expertise as a Demon Slayer that he hadn’t really practiced a lot on, so despite having more experience behind him, it was difficult to adapt to the drops of the beats that he could feel pull his very heart down to the floor. Y’know, those beats that dropped in a rhythmic fashion… it was definitely intentional depending on the type of music that played. And it smelled strongly of sweat and alcohol even from a distance. It was unlike any other festival that Jariel had been part of in the past…

It was wild. Jariel wasn’t a rave person at heart - rave parties were nonexistent back in Desierto, so this would be his first one. Clearly, the first thing that he noticed about this type of festival was the presence of such strong, sharp, contrasting colors. They were mostly bright-purple, cyan, screaming orange or light-blue. There was something untamed about those colors that dotted the streets of Crocus that brought out wild beasts in people who could suddenly move and act beyond their wildest imaginations. It also tickled a little bit inside of Jariel.

Well, to his relief, he hadn’t shown up to the capital to party alone. Along with him were Illya, who had really made an impression on him ever since their first encounter back at Amber Island - don’t worry, he forgave her for her deed back then a long time ago - and one of the newer recruits too. One who, funny enough, shared the exact same first name as Illya… Illya. What were the odds… he felt bad for the both of them due to all the possible, future issues that could bring. Juliet, too, was relatively newer in Dies Irae than Jariel, but given by his first impressions of her, she appeared to be much more collected and - let’s face it - mature than, say, the candy-haired celebrity who accompanied them. All that was just from her first words to them, in which he simply replied: “Y’know, I’m watching over her too…” It was quickly assumed by Jariel why Juliet felt somewhat on edge.

Hehe… it brought a chuckle from him. This was going to be fun.

Ah, yes, while these ladies were stylishly clad and sure suited the event, Jariel too wore some quite ravey. He had been trying a new suit that was white and donned creatures from the ocean, but the stylist suggested against choosing that for the Urban Nights. Something darker and more… rough, uncaring, young but at the same time adult-like. His black suit fulfilled that purpose, combined with his purple t-shirt underneath, both hugging his physique and showing quite some lines here and there. The sharp collar was rebellious, the double-down pair of matching belts were uncommon, and the broken chain hanging on the left side of his collar was metal. He felt like fitting in now.

“… Wait, Juliet’s being surrounded-“ JJ spoke as he spotted through the crowds and banging heads the forming of a circle around their guildmate, “!” Without any warning, he marched towards the circle and pushed open a pathway to enter, causing a couple to fall over their feet. In front of him were Juliet and a pair of identical girls, while some kind of music speaker was booming behind the three of them.

“Well, I can’t hope to beat you with just myself, it’s two against one.”

“*crack* Beating who? Don’t tell me that you’re fighting-” JJ asked accompanied by cracking his neck, his eyes squinting suspiciously at the crowd and moving towards the machine. What kind of challenge did Juliet take?

The music to the part roared over the festivities as the nocturnal party-goers would be getting down and boogying with their bad selves, as the group of Dies Irae people would arrive shortly on the scene. While the party people would be in the usual regalia, the entire party of the guild members must have missed that part about fitting into the crowd here. Illya (or as she called her, Origin-Illya) would have arrived dressed to the nines in what looked like some kind of ballgown taken straight out of the times of old. Now while she had a few outfits back home that would be anything but fancy here, the smaller, more timid Illya would have anything but the flagrant and elegant style that her counterpart would posses. Even if she had asked for help with picking it out herself, Not Illya would smooth out the crinkles in her rather fancy summer dress. A black lace ribbon wrapped around her neck and she was wearing heels on over top of the stockings which held her naturally shaken feet. A hip look for her had it not been for the fact that she was the odd one out in this situation. All of the others looked so brave and valiant, yet here she was just on edge from the blaring music and people talking all at once. She looked among the lot of them as the Leader Illya did what she did best: attempting to break the sound barrier with the amount of time she rambled on while every one gathered around to bear witness to the greatness that was this pink haired warrior. It was only Juliet who would break the silence and separate herself from the group, whether it was for her own sanity or the ones around her had yet to be found.

Illya took another long look around while muttering to herself, as her violet irises danced across the crowds of people of the rave. She had never been the party type of person. Even when the actual Illya (who wasn't the talkaholic in front of them) was still around, she rarely visited them just based solely on what people her age did at these things. They were a very vanilla type of friends. Never gotten drunk, the most exciting thing they had done was getting ice cream at midnight when the both of them were utterly terrified of the dark. So far be it from her to start making judgement calls about people in here. She had always wondered what it was like to let loose. To finally just give into all that peer pressure and just get absolutely shit faced. Would she end up as a sniveling, crybaby person when drunk? Maybe one of the more happy and giggly types? It was hard to say given how picky she was with food and drinks but a part of her worried that drunk Illya might be a bit of a hassle for everyone involved.

The subordinate and newbie to the cause winced to herself and waited for- hey, did another person just leave? Their numbers were thinning! Oh no! "Ah! Pl-Please don't leave me here alone! I don't wanna embarrass myself like this..." The smaller Illya's shape would shake a tad more as their numbers were starting to thin out. Her head turned up to the well dressed Illya as she spoke, "Ah-Um, I'll...just do whatever you guys want to do. I've never b-been to a party like this before. I'm kind of a nerd...sorry." The apology came out of nowhere, forcing the girl to avert her eyes for a second to hide the shame she felt stinging in the sentiment sent out to her friends? Allies? Coworkers?

The two J's had left them first, Illya fine with them leaving. It looked like they were having fun, after all. The two of them were surrounded by a ring of partygoers, all of who seemed to be chanting about something. Some sort of challenge? "Oh, it must be a dance-off!" Illya happily chirped. She felt the soft, trembling hands of the other Illya tug at her dress. "Hmm, well, it just won't do to have you not have any fun while you're here! I mean, how else are you going to get more confidence and break out of your shell unless you go about and party it up! Don't worry, I understand that it's a bit difficult initially to get used to being surrounded by so many people in such a big, loud environment! I still remember my first big concert, man was I stressed out about being there! I mean, being on stage in front of, what was it...four thousand? It's a lot to get used to, but babysteps, little Illya! We just gotta find something really fun for you to do and get used to!" Illya looked around, seeing what else there was to do. "Oh! I got it! There's a DJ booth up there, right? I got ourselves a plan! You head on up there and play whatever song you want! Doesn't matter what kind of song it is, just go up there and get it playing! There's some paint drums right next to the booth, so I'll drum along to whatever song you want to play! Now, let's go!"

Not waiting for her co - Illya to say her acceptance of the offer, Pegasus left the scene, ensuring that she was not without her own flair as she moved. Even in spite of the music being one of more high energy dancing, Illya still floated through the crowds, spinning on her heels and toes, using the extent of her ballet knowledge and her perfect ear for rhythm to dance through the crowd. Within moments, people were making way for the spinning top that was Illya Pegasus, her ball gown flaring out as she spun and danced her way out and about. Cheers surrounded her as she continued her dancing, her moves switching in an instant from a ballet to a more rave style of dancing, her spins on her toes a whirling dervish of fabric as she wheeled around. Her quick, expert changes of style excited the crowd, as likely did the flares of the skirt of her dress. She was confident in what she was doing, as nothing scandalous was revealed from her moves. Illya certainly wondered how her fellow coworkers were doing in their own dance off. She had never seen either of Juliet or Jariel dance, but Illya still had confidence in her lower ranking members of Dies Irae. She knew that she needed to continue her own dancing in order for the other Illya to make her way towards the DJ's Booth, already anticipating the nervousness and apologies she would have as she made her way up. Chants from the crowd rose more and more, some people recognizing the celebrity and cheering even louder, calling and asking for autographs or merchandise or, in one particularly brazen fan's case, a date. Illya laughed at the proposition, shaking her head at with a smile and a quick apology. She continued her way, forming a circle of her own around her before she danced her way towards the drums, her stalling enough time for the other Illya to make her way to the DJ Booth. Taking the current drummer's sticks, she pointed at Illya as she began drumming away at the current song, paint flashing in perfect rhythm with the beats of what was currently on, Illya anticipating what her fellow Illya would be bringing up to play.

Juliet glanced to her side as another person pushed their way into the small open clearing that had emerged in the middle of the rave goers. Giving him a nod as a greeting, the mage met the eyes of the twin nearest to her. They each had the same bright red hair and fair, freckled skin, with identical faces in every possible way. For that reason, it was difficult to tell the two apart. However, she did her best to focus on the one on the right. Since she was to that side of Jariel, she figured he might want to confront the twin on the left. "Let's go, then," she murmured, eyes boring into the dancer in front of her. This entire series of events, with being trapped and forced to dance, was utterly a nightmare. The two of the twins began to dance as a new song came on, moving together in a way that showed they'd had plenty of practice. "..." Juliet made no noise, her concentration split between watching the other two and also trying to make sure her fellow mage was alright.

Finally, she got tired of attempting to move around awkwardly and held up her hands. "I concede defeat," Juliet said flatly, before turning her back to her competitors. Whether or not JJ was doing well and beat them all by himself, she was ready to head out. She had participated in the debacle, which ought to be enough for the people trapping them to allow her through, no? Unfortunately, it seemed like they didn't agree. "No no lady, you gotta get stamped before ya can leave!" The stranger grabbed Juliet by the wrist, and she resisted the urge to jerk her arm away. He was not doing any harm yet, and she couldn't hurt these civilians, no matter how tempting it was to strike them across the face as they babbled and tried to keep her up. The man stamped her on the back of her hand, a rainbow silhouette across the back of her hand. As she tilted it slightly, it seemed to glow a little bit as it fell into the path of a shadow. Shrugging, Juliet finally pulled away her hand, the stranger's grip having loosened. "Thank you," she said flatly, before her attention was abruptly seized by a scream that came from only a few meters away.

There were people scattering as a group of strange, corrupted looking water elementals soared down into the area. They sent spurts of hot pink liquid shooting towards some of the people who had been partying nearby. Yelling in pain, everyone began to scatter, and Juliet's eyes narrowed. "Hey!" In the midst of them, there was a girl standing who seemed to just be scrolling through something on her iLac. The uncanny thing was that she wasn't being attacked by any of the creatures, though. Other than that, they seemed to be aggressively going after everything and everyone in the vicinity, their liquid burning through a nearby set of speakers that got sprayed. Luckily, it didn't seem like any of the people had been hit by the plasma yet. The mage's mouth thinned into a line and she pulled her hand into a fist, pulling a long axe out of nowhere. With her requip in hand, she first sent a thin, transparent shield flowing around the nearby rave participants. They didn't deserve to get seriously hurt just for wanting to have fun, even if it was a bit silly and dangerous to do drugs and go drinking and dancing, in her opinion. Then Juliet teleported towards the nearest elemental, slashing through with her axe and sending a pulsing wave of energy towards the monster. This was far from over, but it was a start.

Bright Lights of Summer! Empty Re: Bright Lights of Summer!

Post by Jariel on 22nd July 2020, 2:09 pm

… Jariel’s eyebrow rose as Juliet appeared all ready for a bout between the two of them and the two twins in front of them. It became obvious to the Demon Slayer that the kind of bout that he imagined that his would be was to be a dance-off. It had been a while since Jariel danced in front of so many people, but he wasn’t unfamiliar with the sport. There was a lot of dancing in the culture of the village where he came from, but… it was nothing like the moves that these twins performed.

It was less dancing and more a performance of their clearly superior kinesthetic senses. 75% of the time, they balanced on their hands and head instead of their feet, and they also spun around with impressive speeds. Last but not least, they were clearly synchronized in a way that brought extra brownie points to their performance. How was Juliet and Jariel going to compete against that, now?

Juliet had already begun dancing, so Jariel quickly picked up her pace. It was… a bit awkward. Their pace and rhythm was nothing like the two girls’, and perhaps that was why Juliet quickly gave the white flag and attempted to leave. Jariel, also known as JJ, was now standing in front of the grinning twins all by himself. If they thought that balancing on their hands like that was impossible, then they were dead wrong.

    Bright Lights of Summer! NVcaF93

In one, short leap, JJ suddenly balanced on the left side of his head as well as hands. His legs were forming an almost perpendicular edge, and that stance led him to rapidly spin around until he now only balanced on his left hand.

    Bright Lights of Summer! M55XUzu

Both legs pointed at his right direction, but he wasn’t done yet! He suddenly kicked the air and made one of his feet point to his right side, so he looked like an upside-down figure from a wall of hieroglyphs. He had been balancing on his hand and arm for a while now, and he already caused many people around him to gasp.

    Bright Lights of Summer! CVAMGm4

He felt like he did the impossible and beat an unstoppable foe with his sudden, improvised moves like a madman-

    BONK!

Ouch… losing balance, he face-planted on the concrete floor and tasted quite the humiliating end to his performance. He would stand up on his feet in a hurry and wipe dust off of his expensive jacket and jeans before averting his attention somewhere else to ignore the flare on his face and the sweat of anxiety that surged through him. Darn, that was embarrassing…

… Oh, hey, Juliet had gotten a stamp on her wrist. The same dude approached JJ with quite a laugh following, and even the Demon Slayer now wanted to punch him just to make him shut up… but that was unreasonable. JJ had to work on his emotions once in a while, for sometimes, he could grow immature and stubborn in times. That wasn’t befitting a judge at all.

Sadly, the joyous night of partying invited screams as people spotted what looked like sentient neon liquids floating around and attempting to hit people with guns of bright ink. One such was approaching another crowd, and JJ now realized that they had gotten separated from Illya and Illya. Maybe they were in danger. “Oh no…” he huffed before making his way through the crowds, casually pushing over the ink-colored girl with the iLac who scuffed at him in return.

The liquid was so bright that it gave the Demon Slayer, who could eat light, an idea. He opened his mouth up wide and began sucking in the light emitting from the neon lights around him, including the lights covering the inky monster which brought its attention to him. The more neon that he inhaled, the brighter his skin began to shine in the same, freaky colors. A single glare from him released a ray of sharp, neon light that tore through the inky elemental and made it stop hurling acidic substance at the other participants.

When he made his way back to Juliet, after a failed attempt to locate the other two, he addressed her while in his strange, neon-glowing fashion: “Let me help…!” He used the same trick as before, sucking in the light from the neon elemental’s liquid body before leaving it in a dim, brownish goo. His body began lighting up even more as a result, but it also seemed to slow down the entity significantly. He just hoped that it wasn’t poisonous…

"P-Party it up?!" Illya repeated, terror as clear in her eyes as her fear of performing in front of people, spiders, and the dark. She had no idea how others could just be so...not afraid of looking like a chicken with its head cut off in front of others. The way the smaller Illya latched onto the bigger one's coattails was almost like she was a younger associate of her superior...Wait, how old was Actually Illya? Would she be older by some kind of stretch of time? It was not a question that you could just walk up and ask a woman, especially if your lovely partner was one of the higher ups in Dies Irae. Illya peered up at her boss with a look that was hopeful, though it was dashed as quick as it could have been built up by the woman. The DJ Booth would stand before them, across the great sea of people getting down on the dance floor, as one may define the term. The pink head's heart sank through the pits of her stomach towards the floor at the Actually Illya's recommendation. "B-But I've never run a DJ booth before, Illya, I mean, ma'am! Ho-How do I even-" she trembled enough to lose sight of the bigger Illya prancing away as if nothing was happening. At the realization that she was alone, she turned her head all around as if to search for her boss who had just turned invisible. "Wha-Where did you go?...Illya?" Her violet eyes locked onto the shape of a spinning ballet dancer, surfing on top of the crowd as if it were a solid, unloving surface. The way her feet moved across the ever shifting surfaces was nothing short of majestic. Her eyes were glued onto the figure while it took in the little details of her performance. After around ten or eleven seconds or so, it dawned on Illya that the woman she had her eyes settled on was none other than the fanciful boss herself, Bigger Illya! Despite the long, flowing dress that she had decided to wear for this occasion, not once did it cause her any kind of distraction or interruption from her waltz towards the stage. Smaller Illya could not help but find herself amazed at the complete sight of what this woman was capable of. Could this mean that she was as fearsome and powerful on the battlefield as she was off of it?

"Wow, she's so awesome." she thought to herself, a brief pang of awe and envy coming from within her small heart. "I wish I could be like her one day..." The surrounding crowd reminded Illya of just where she was with a gentle but form knock of the elbow into her side while somebody would have looked back at her in annoyance. The character in question was a brown haired male, wearing a torn off t shirt, worn pants and overall had that look of somebody who had homework to do despite being in his twenties. "Do y'all mind? I'm trying to get down with my bad self." Now before the comment would have been met with a fist to the face and a fight ensuing, but now? Totally different story. Illya back off with a meek, "S-Sorry." and began to force her way through the crowd. It was pretty difficult considering that unlike the Better Illya, she was stuck wading through the slower way towards the DJ Booth. The way was filled with avoiding people dancing, waitresses and waiters bringing people their drinks on uniformed attire, and a few creepy guys that danced about as pleasant as they smelled. Illya was even sure a few of them were giving her the eyes of somebody who had less than aspiring intentions of getting to know her better.

During the entire ordeal, Illya's face would be red and her eyes starting to water as everything was blending together into a cocktail of anxiety and self-doubt. She wanted to run back home to the guild hall, dive into the sanctuary that was underneath her blankets and never emerge ever again. But her feet wouldn't be able to even register such a command while trudging forward on the other Illya's trail. Her expression was one of uncertainty and over-stimulation, one that she knew all but too well. There had been a few incidents when she was Actually Not Illya where her companion would have needed a moment after a loud noise or a giant crowd to regain herself. While not understanding what it was actually like, she would have begged for somebody to take her away from it now. "It's so loud...My head feels like a dragon stepped on it." Her breath grew hard to catch while her body felt like a ticking time bomb, ready to go off at any moment. But still, she couldn't let the Actual Illya down like this! Her feet quivered and hands clawed over her ears hidden behind her light pink ears. There was no end to the blaring noise while things would become muted and muffled to her. All noises were just these loud, blaring beats of sound without end. She could differentiate between what was speech and what was music but any other details were lost to the girl."Please, stop...Make it stop...Please stop, Illya..."

A single tap of the foot hitting something solid would break the girl out of her intrusive thoughts. Her watery eyes looked down at the step in front of her, leading all the way to the DJ booth above. The long and treacherous journey would have finally reached its conclusion! A single tear would flow down Illya's left cheek as she ascended up the staircase to meet her superior on the top level overlooking the rave. Once on top and standing before the turntable, it only then dawned on the girl that she was missing one critical piece of information: she had no idea how to even play music on this thing, let alone find the power button to this thing. And so the frightened Illya would stumble around with all the various knobs and dials while feeling the eyes of the world on herself. "Aaaaaah, Illyaa! How do I use this thiiiing?!" she whined. Her wrist hit some button on accident as the music would begin to play from the speakers, a loud and blaring beat that seemed to rile up the partygoers even more. The bass tore through the night while Illya would mess with the dials a little more to adjust the volume and levels of the song playing, the loud noises causing tears to stream down her face but looking over at Actual Illya for validation.

Illya watched as her fellow Illya began struggling with the DJ booth, yet even with the difficulties her more reserved counterpart was experiencing, the celebrity continued her work, pounding upon the drums, the paint rising into the air, each strike sending a flight of color into the air, dancing from drum to drum. Each beat of the drum was in time with the music, each change in volume from Aoshara's struggles being reciprocated with the closed eyed Pegasus's drumming. She was being fully immersed into the music, yet just simply drumming with the paint was not quite enough. Illya needed to do just that little bit more. Just sitting there, all dressed up, masterfully drumming into the air as the specks of paint avoided her clothes was not enough. She needed to make it more of a show. After all, what was an idol for if not making it a show?

She twirled one of her drumsticks in her fingers. "Make some noise if you all want a concert from the Illya Pegasus, here and now!" As expected, a roar came from the crowd. Illya was admittedly proud of the fame she was quickly garnering. Her idol work was rising more and more, getting bigger concerts and more fame, as well as an upcoming album, and the poster of her movie within the Sorcerer's Magazine certainly boosted her fame ever more higher and higher. Crocus, especially, seemed to know who she was, and to say Illya was appreciative of the prospect of fame was certainly an understatement. Her drumming intensified for a moment, each strike in time with the beats and with even more flare on top of it. A glasses - wearing woman approached her with a stamp, and pressed it upon Illya's hand before another rave - ready bystander hopped in to take over for the drums. Illya took the opportunity to take her  dancing out further, her spins ready and going and keeping her dancing up. "Come on, MinIllya! Bump the music up!" she called out.

Luckily for her, a nearby emcee handed her a microphone, just how Illya liked it, able to be wrapped around her ear so her hands were kept open. "Hello, Capital Crocus! I admit, I wasn't really expecting to do a concert today, but it's the Urban Nights Festival! I think we ought to just party it up, and if I'm here, of course I'm going to give you all a concert! I want to give a shout out to our DJ on the booth, Illya Aoshara! Oh, and I don't know where they are, but I also wanna give a shout out to my friends Juliet and Jariel! They're here today as well, and I'm glad to be performing for them and for all of you! Now, hit it, ThrIllya!"

Regardless of how well Aoshara did, Illya began her first song, coming up with lyrics and a dance for the song being played on the fly. The tune in the background was unfamiliar to her, yet her instincts took over, singing out some words with a good enough structure and rhyme, and the most important part, making a cute dance along with it. She continued her moves until the song ended, a roar erupting from the crowd as she finished. "Again, I want to think my mini Illya for DJing! I'm sure she's tired of being up there, so give her a round of applause!" The bystanders did what the idol asked, giving a round of applause as a new DJ took over. "Play whatever you like, DJ! If you want to play one of my songs, I'm fine with it, but you can challenge me if you want!" The DJ seemed more content with giving the music savant idol a challenge, playing some unfamiliar tunes in the background, though they were at least kind enough to not change mid-song. For each time a new song was played, Illya did the same as she always did, making the words for her song up on the fly with a nice dance to go along with it, keeping her idol status up. She did admittedly wonder how Jariel and Juliet were doing in their work, and if Aoshara was fine on her own, though hopefully her concert would draw the rest of the members of Dies Irae along to her, and if there were any baddies around, they, too, would be drawn to the concert. Perhaps it was Illya drawing a target onto her back, but that was little matter. She was doing what was necessary, and was having fun with it as well.

… Perhaps JJ had inhaled too much neon photons. Whoever gazed at his person now would find him in a state of disbelief as he eyed his arms and legs, all emitting strong, purple and green lights. He looked like one of those characters from a famous dancing simulator. It certainly caused the iLac girl - the one too busy on her iLac to even acknowledge their existence up until now - to cackle and take a photo of the lighting Demon Slayer. Her phone then switched to video recording and was held to aim its lens at JJ, him just staring back with an annoyed look on his face, his eyebrows darting and his mouth shut.

Then, while being recorded, he started wreaking havoc on the liquid elementi. One of them watched him dash up in the air and aim to land on another elementi, using the fall’s momentum to deliver a crucial blow with his clenched fist. The other elementi attempted to flee, but it was scared back at its position by a sudden blast of light launched from JJ’s palm - this served to keep it in place, resulting in him landing on it with devastating effect. His palm now clenched buried into its liquid body, causing it to burst and cover a chunk of the street in the same, gooey light slime that he complimented with his skin. The other elementi feared its inevitable fate as JJ inhaled more of the strong, neon light to gather more and more mana. In the night, the light was so much more vibrant, focused and rich in essence.

The more light he took in, the more power he felt coursing through him. The other elementi would definitely suffice with more, so he spared no time in punching it down. His momentum was getting faster, and the elementi was taken by surprise despite having watched him with no break. The girl with the iLac, for once, held a face of slight worry as she recorded all of this, a man sucking in the essence of light and gaining strength and vitality while massacring her supposed familiars.

“… U-Uh,” she stuttered, lowering her iLac a bit. What if he attacked her, now? That wouldn’t be cool. She would get hurt badly. She had to do something. That was her line of thought as she texted for an ally to show up.

In the meantime, JJ merely eyed her for a brief moment. Then, he spoke directly to the iLac girl: “Sorry for the intrusion. Enjoy the event.” His Slayer ears picked up the noise, but really, ordinary human ears would be able to hear Illya’s playing and singing. She and Illya must’ve been up to something completely different right now… but with these elementi around, things looked risky. Likely, there were more.

He had to inform them. His bright body dashed off towards the DJ booth to reunite with the two Illya’s, not knowing who else was approaching them.

An armored soldier, modern in fashion but also unorthodox. A speaker was embedded on the chest-piece of his armor, and he wore the same themes and colors as the event itself. He and the group’s intentions were to ruin the event, but now, some big idol got people hyped up. That simply wouldn’t do. He wouldn’t allow it.

Orcana would have to take care of herself, were she in danger. The Beta stepped up on the stage where the two Illya’s were playing and singing, immediately crossing his arms to fire off the sound blast from his chest.

    Bright Lights of Summer! T9beJCI

Juliet tired of this "festive event." She turned to Jariel, a smile on her face. "Nice," the mage uttered, grateful to him for taking care of another one of the elementals. He was currently... glowing, as a result, but hopefully, there were no negative consequences to his actions. Being lit up like a space disco ball wasn't too bad of a price to pay in exchange for defeating the poisonous creatures; in fact, it was almost a benefit. Glancing towards her fellow mage, Juliet winced. On second thought, no, she would not go that far. Making a dash towards the nearest elemental, the blonde whirled her axe through the air, slashing through them but wincing as they reformed effortlessly. It seemed as though taking care of these wouldn't necessarily be as simple as she had assumed. However, JJ was doing work. His business seemed to be the destruction of plasma elementi, what with how he blasted them with light and the pure power of his fists. She watched first as he managed to destroy the majority of their bodies with tight punches, apparently gathering their life force and recombobulating it into further power. How the cycle of life turned, she supposed, or more accurately, how the cycle of slayers went. In the same mindset as her own, Juliet thought she could detect just how unamused he was by the techie, snobbish girl. Although her expression betrayed that she was not feeling completely secure any longer, her actual positioning didn't give off any sign of heading to another location. Instead, she began to type slightly furiously, and Juliet narrowed her eyes. While it was possible she was sending videos of their activities to media outlets, or some other outlandish stunt to try to get them in trouble, there were more likely scenarios. For example, she could have been recording their abilities to pass on to her comrades.

Either way, Juliet felt unsettled in her presence. Just as she was turning to go (after all, it wasn't really acceptable to go ahead and smack her around without having done anything violet or outwardly wrong in particular) she heard JJ speak up. His cordial behavior managed to force the mage to relax; if her guild mate felt as though they could reasonably leave this girl to her own devices for now, she felt alright with going along. Suddenly, her fellow mage made a mad break for something out of her vision, in a direction that led to some place she had no idea of. Squaring her shoulders, Juliet forced her way through the throng of other partygoers to follow after him. As she was doing so, however, the crest on her back began to burn. Sinking into her skin, she winced as the magic enveloped her body. The mage struggled to steady her breathing, chanting to herself to stay calm and not let any sign of pain show on her face. This was not really the time for her old scars to resurface, and the girl had no intention of allowing her crest to derail her from the current situation. However, the pain soon became unbearable, and against her will, tears pricked at the corners of her eyes. Gritting her teeth, Juliet tried to pull herself together, before she finally realized that there might be a reason behind these happenings. The crest did sense imminent danger, although it was definitely finnicky and unreliable when it came to predictions. After all, there had been no twang of pain when the elementi were showing up. That didn't mean, though, that now was a fluke. Calming down a little now that she realized the origin of the crest's irritation, Juliet reached out with her magic, sensing the area around herself. She followed the slight magic signatures until she reached the stage where the two Illyas were doing very different things.

Both had a performance of sorts going on. One, the shorter haired Illya, was very high up in the DJ booth, messing with the equipment. Assuming she was trying to play music, Juliet felt tempted to call out in support of her before she shuddered. Wouldn't it be embarrassing if she were recognized? She dug her fingernails into the palms of her hands as she made a resolution to clap and cheer, should she manage to get the songs working. Other than that, the blonde couldn't promise enthusiastic or outward support; it simply wasn't her style. Much to the mage's surprise, a loud clamor of music began to sound out from the speakers, with a strong, thumping beat that had the crowd going wild. Well, even if the choice had seemed inadvertent, Juliet was relieved that her guild mate was doing alright. She searched the stage again for the other Illya who she had spotted earlier. The girl was easily found, because she was just accepting a microphone, standing in the center of the raised platform. This was about to be another one of her infamous speeches. On this occasion, though, the words pouring out of her mouth did seem to be an actual announcement type deal, the kind idols gave at concerts. So Illya had plenty of practice with that, and it was coming out now. Juliet felt relieved that she wasn't going to be the victim of death by microphone amplified rambling at the moment. Unsurprisingly, the other girl still spoke her mind. She offered to give the crowd a concert, which the blonde wasn't sure every one of them appreciated. Even if the majority did know of Illya Pegasus, not everyone at this rave  did or even was a fan of hers. However, she couldn't judge, and it wasn't like Juliet to be the unsupportive type. Especially when she had called her out like that. The mage wasn't blushing, it was only the lighting.

Just then, Juliet caught a movement near the front of the stage, among the crowd. The form of a dark clothed figure with cybernetic armor emerged, stepping onto the stage. Her eyes narrowed, suspecting he was up to no good; despite the techno vibe that many of the rave attendees had going on, none exactly showed up in armor. Immediately increasing the rate at which she shoved through the crowd, the mage barely managed to make it close enough to teleport forward the moment she saw his arms move. Colliding with the blast that flew from his chest plate, Juliet's crest wrapped around her as she took the brunt force of the blow, pale violet magic exploding out and coating her skin. As she panted, her body bruised even though it had technically blocked the blow, she glared at the Beta. At this point, words were unnecessary. She wasn't much of a talker, anyway. Dashing forward, a silver knife materialized in her hand and was immediately brought down in a swooping arc that just barely missed his shoulder when he dodged right. Spinning her axe around in her hand, Juliet ignored the crowd in favor of attacking the idiot who had attempted to cause trouble. Unlike the plasma elementi, this one had more of a physical form and was perfect for her weapons. She held out her axe, pointing it straight at the man. A powerful burst of energy sprung from the blade, slamming into him and knocking the breath from his lungs. Served him right for doing the same to her earlier... Juliet sliced across his torso with her axe, sending him stumbling back. Even though his armor might have taken the majority of the hit, undoubtedly, he was still injured. How badly was unclear.

"P-Party it up?!" All things considered, this had gone better than little Illya could even think of doing. For one, the crowd seemed to love her beginner skills in making music sound like it was being used as a weapon of some kind. The loud beats coming from the speakers had given her a headache that had been muted by the adrenaline pumping through her system. Songstress Illya on the stage would even give her props on her performance, as the applause would get to the timid nerdier clone of the original. Another person relieved her of her DJ status as the worn out Illya would descend the stairs with her eyes still on the star dancing for her people. The way she just wasn't phased by the crowd of people, and instead encouraged all kinds of challenges to be thrown her way...it made the lesser known girl to feel a heaviness in her chest that made her want to at least try her best like she had done at the booth as well. If she could certainly face her fears this way, maybe she could to? But for now, Illya Aoshara would be contempt cheering on her superior and hopefully friend up on the stage performing for people. The others would be around, with the smaller Illya smiling at Juliet who had just taken out some dark and shady looking guy that had been looking to carve himself a slice of Illya Pie, and not the good kind! She nodded in understanding of what she had done and would stick close by her for the remainder of the show. Not that she was scared but it was nice to be by somebody Illya knew than to just be out here all by herself.
