Post by Oykai 11th December 2018, 3:32 am

It had been a while since anything had happened in the place that she and others called home, the one whom called himself the god of blood, battle and honour seemed to have left them all to deal with 'other' duties in his home realm. She didn't see him as a kami at all, to her he was nothing more than a fraud that wanted to brainwash people to do his bidding. She couldn't exactly argue with some of the previous tenants he had brought up such as honour but in a war such things were often thrown out of the window due to the chaos and the need to survive. Still with his departure it had left the guild and its members to fall dormant, his second in command had been made to take over the reigns and rebuild the guild in her vision. The young courtesan could only imagine the strain and stress being put on their now guild master Mythica and so had offered her help to help in which ever way they could. She couldn't exactly say she wasn't happy when they news came to her that they where to move to another location that would become their guild hall, the current place had her paranoid that it would destroy her clothing or make them beyond dirty thanks to all the blood everywhere.

Once those who remained relocated to the underground city, she found herself in awe of the architecture though she felt it was because it wasn't something she was use to rather than seeing it for the very first time; it was an odd sensation to her to say the least regardless she was glad to be there. "Perhaps it's time to take a job and have our name known once more..." she thought to herself walking up the steps to a job board at the back of the hall reading over the many requests, it was then something caught her eye. It wasn't exactly a job that you would find in a dark guild board but none the less it did peek her interest, taking the flyer she read it over. "People in Minstrel are looking for performers to entertain in a festival..." she smiled only to groan and dropped her head "I should go show the musical idiot, he'd likely enjoy it I'm sure, then there's the fact he'd be moppy and pouty not to be given an invite to show off his musical genius to the masses and I'm pretty sure we have a clown somewhere... well other than the musical idiot." she smiled speaking to herself as she went on the hunt to find Baird and the infamous Jester. At current she was wearing a pale pink and white Victorian style dress with a matching bonnet, the bonnet having a white feather with in it. She then stopped and realised this place was far bigger than their former guild hall so she would likely be looking all day and would be beyond angry to find out that he wasn't in the place after looking for the two for so long so decided to just wait and listen. After all Baird was always playing an instrument or humming music, well when he wasn't yelling for someone to come on a job with him; she was also sure that Baird would be able to track down Jester or if the rumours had been true about the clown boy almost fan boying over the musician would end up finding him and so she wouldn't have to do the additional leg work. It only took a few moments before she picked up the faint sounds of music and headed towards it knowing whom was likely at the end of the musical road.

    Baird Yuzill

Baird had been rather confused about his guild masters disappearance, but he had ultimately chalked it up to something of minor importance. He didn't really interact with the fellow guy anyways besides the once. Not that it really mattered. He went about his days like normal, throwing music around the place and composing new songs for himself. He had no issue with some other lady taking over the guild. In all honesty, even though he didn't know her, she seemed like she could create greatness for their guild and cause more mayhem. Only time could tell to him though. Already, the new guild hall was striking great cords with him as it allowed for his music to echo perfectly for concerts from anywhere within. He more than likely was annoying everyone, or they were pleased with his lively music at times...

Lately, the musician had been wanting to get into more wind instruments, or ones he can just blast some air into. He just had to figure out what... and find the instruments... 'Maybe I should invest in a flaming bagpipe!' That sounded like quite a delight to the musician as he cackles to himself. He was off in a chamber on his own, doors wide open to allow his music flow out while he had Dreamweaver out and ready to be played. The room, he had basically ended up claiming for himself and had all of his instruments laid out for everyone to see should they come to investigate him and the music he plays. Tables holding his treasures as they sat there neatly, ready to be picked up and played for someone to hear. As all over the place as Baird could be, his instruments tended to be the one thing he never allowed to be disorganized or dirty. And he would murder anyone whom dare to touch his instruments and ruin them... or almost anyone. A few people were an exception... also depended on his mood.

He closes his eyes as he sat before Dreamweaver, and takes a deep breath. A new song already forming within his mind. As he let his hands run over the strings, he slowly started to pluck away, a song starting to leave with every pluck as he closed his eyes and just let the music release from his fingertips. One of the rare few times he was ever silent and looked serious as he did so. He let his eyes open slowly as he gazed down to the strings softly, feeling the vibrations of the strings coursing through his hand and through his body as the melody left the instrument. He felt a presence approach the room, but he was too into his music to stop or see who it was. He was wearing a neon green tank top, his typical black skinny jeans, and has his black vest and boots in a slightly neat pile next to the koto on the floor. When he finished playing, he glances up finally, and blinks at the person before him. "Yuiisai?" He questioned cautiously. He honestly had never seen her in that style of clothing, but he couldn't deny he kind of liked it at the same time. A smile comes across his lips as he stands up slowly, giving a bow. "I hope you enjoyed listening to me play?" He snickers quietly to himself. He couldn't figure what, but he had a feeling there was something up. Not once could he recall her seeking him out for any reason besides him being too loud and disrupting her. He then paused as he looked to her. "Or was I being loud?" He pouts a bit. He looks around the room and takes a deep breath, touching one at a time to put them back in his arsenal for use when he needed them.

    Blood. A lot of blood.

The ominous red fluid washing away into the drains of the guild's shower. Jester would stare ahead as the shower wall blankly, a bright grin on his face. Relentless held in place as he savoured the satisfaction of the gruesome task he had just pulled. Such delightfully pained screams, begging for mercy, another worthless life lost, and roots of grief quickly embedding in those who mourned them. It had been a bit overkill, but the Jester experience had been somewhat lacking lately. It had been a lot of floating around, observing the area. The guild was undergoing changes he saw, not that it made much difference to him. The guild was merely a means to an end, a pit of resources for his games. But it had been a while, and the line of patience that Jester maintained had been growing thinner with each passing day. Until finally he had snapped. He had cornered a happy little family in Oshibana, and basically left their home bathed in their blood.

He stepped out of the shower, not bothering to glance in the mirror as he dried himself. If he were, he would see a hardened body, lean and athletic, yet covered in several gruesome scars — a reflection of the torturous life he had once lived. He quickly dressed, before he repainted the usual symbols on his face. A trademark to his new self. A red heart on the left cheek and a blue spade on the right. He would use his hands to comb his wet hair back as he left the showers and made his way through the guild. Now that he had washed away the evidence of his last game, it was time to find a new focus. He was considerably sated by the murder, but still, there was always room for more fun.

As he walked along, his footsteps began to pick up a slight pace, moving rhythmically into a well-timed skip. Jester's head would bob from side to side, the water dripping from his locks flicking along the walls of the guild. He was moving in synchronisation with a specific sound, a familiar sound that was making it way through the guild halls. It was undoubtedly, the music man. He made his way towards the noise, after all, the music man always seemed to be a great source of entertainment with the kind of skill for the creation of suffering that Jester enjoyed playing witness to. It wasn't often someone was as light-hearted about toying with folks as himself, plus Baird seemed so incomprehensible unstable, that Jester didn't feel any urge to toy with him, but alongside him. Because together, the pain they could pain, was a sight to behold.

Jester noticed a female walking along in the distance, with long black hair, and features somewhat androgynous yet completely unscathed. Jester observed as she carried herself with determination and purpose, moving much like himself towards the music. He beamed excitedly. Wondering of what sort of nature she was, did she like to toy with people too? Or was she the kind who was good to be toyed with? Only time would tell. Jester held back for a moment, hearing Baird's voice as he addressed the woman. Jester would wait until the conversation had already begun, listening quietly all the while standing in the shadows. It seemed the music man knew the woman in the Victorian dress. He would eavesdrop on their exchange if they were to say anything that might catch his interest he would pop in, if not he would leave and find some other means of entertainment. He wasn't one to waste time with obligatory social engagements; Jester felt no desire to get to know any of his guildmates, because unless they plan some kind of role in his plan for universal suffering. Then their existence mattered not.

Yuiisai had stood silently during the time that he had been playing the koto, it reminded her of something but she couldn't quite put her finger on it but tears fell from her eyes as she felt pain in her heart. Whatever it was she couldn't quite reach seemingly meant a lot to her and caused her heartache at its loss, she hated the fact she had amnesia and couldn't quite remember anything of whom she once was. It wasn't exactly like she could just go and walk up to someone and ask them who she was and her entire life story, this was something that would have to come back to her over time. Given the instrument was something from Midi she could only guess that she might find some answers there so made a mental note that she should go visit there, if nothing else it might give her some peace of mind. This was something she knew she had been lacking ever since the betrayal of that one boy who she had met on the day that this terrible thing happened to her, she understood now that he had lied to her in the hopes to use her to benefit themselves but had left or been removed from that so called family that loved and protected her from the harshness of the world.

As the green haired musician stopped she came out of her own mind and looked to him, her cheeks wet and stained with her tears. "You are loud in your sleep I'm sure of it." she said her voice quivering a little as she spoke, she was trying to regain her composure but that wasn't happening at that moment that was for sure. Seeing the bow, she took the skirt of her dress and dipped daintily as if practised in such etiquette. "Your playing was beautiful but painful for me to listen to, it brought something back to me but I am sure of it but I still can not remember anything from my past." she said with a saddened tone, she felt so pathetic in that moment. She was meant to be one of those to be on the look out for as one of the worst villains and here she was in tears over something she couldn't remember. It was when she let go of her skirt and stood she remembered why she was there in the first place and held out the flyer "It seems like the nation of the rich are hosting some sort of festival and are looking for performers. I can dance, sing and play music but I thought this would be something you would like to take part in as well." she croaked as she tried to fight back the need to cry for a second time, internally scolding herself for being worked up over something she didn't even remember in the slightest. "I heard we had a crazed clown around guild so if we could find them I'm sure we could have some fun." she said as she brought up her hands to her face trying to dry her cheeks, she could only imagine the state she was in, that was something she'd need to fix before they left if he and the other when they found them wanted to go with her of course.

    Baird Yuzill

At her comment of him being loud in his sleep, Baird chuckles. "I've been told I'm rather silent actually!" He chuckles while grinning to her. The musician had paused when he finally noticed that Yuiisai was crying after he stopped playing. His jaw was hung slightly slack. This woman seemed to get him speechless sometimes. He stood there awkwardly, trying to figure out how to comfort her after she seemed to curtsy to his bow and said his music was beautiful, but was also painful for her. He rubbed the back of his head as he puffed his cheeks for a moment, looking around. "I'm glad you like it?" He wasn't sure about how to respond. Usually he was good at comforting people, but Yuiisai wasn't like others, and she both complimented him, and said he was annoying. He was still in shock. She wasn't throwing anything at him, she wasn't getting ready to kill him, she was just, standing there. He wasn't sure if he should play another song… or keep away from the music for a bit with her.

Her mentioning that the rich hosting a festival and needing performers though, a grin started to split his face. He held his hands behind his back as he looked to her. "So you think my music would be good enough to play for the rich?" Baird chuckles as he stood there. He clapped his hand and smirked. "I'm more than willing to play for new fans! I can't wait to see the looks on their faces!" He waited for her to compose herself, till she mentioned the clown. Bairds green eyes grow wide with excitement as he summoned forth his violin. He had quickly tuned it and winks to Yuiisai while quietly moving the bow over the strings. "Why yes! We have a clown around that is quite the entertainer! I'm pretty sure he's here already too!" He cackles as he brought the bow to the strings. He begun playing one of his more screechy songs, hoping it'd summon forth his favorite person to cause mayhem with. "Jester~!" He chuckles as he had stepped out of the room and into the hallway.

The musician was continuing playing as he looked to Yuiisai. He raised an eyebrow to her, curiosity clearly on his face. "You really think we can go and play for the rich together?" He was excited, as it could be seen by his quick stepping between each foot while he played the screeching violin song. He was already imagining himself up on the stage and the crowd applauding him. But the thought of Yuiisai next to him as well, that made him blush a bit. He smirked as he glanced back to her, and let his screeching song end, regardless of where Jester was. "Where's the festival going to be at? How rich are the people going to be? I hope we don't have to act proper after our performance…" He then paused. "What 'rich' are we talking about? Rich with money? Or positions?" That mattered the most in all honesty. It depended on how the show would end up going for them.

The clown bobbed silently outside of the door. The initial conversation didn't interest him, talking about sleep, music and memories. It was rather dull to the clown and was almost enough to cause him to twirl away to find something a little more fun to do. But then the woman mentioned a festival, catching his attention once more, his lips pulled back over his teeth and his eyes narrowed angrily. He dislikes festivals, they were much like carnivals. They only set off his need to kill, to destroy any and all happiness that resided in such a place. But not in a fun way, there was something uncontrollable about his hate, like a lingering beast it took other, turning his mind red with rage he saw nothing, he remembered little, it didn't have the same fun as seeking lives to destroy the way he preferred. She would mention a crazy clown, causing Jester to tilt his head, did she mean him? He did not know of any other clowns that resided in Nightmare at present, but then again he didn't know much about his guild members aside from the Music Man.

As the music man spoke of a clown, Jester's suspicion was confirmed. They indeed meant him, the snarl faded from his face at the thought. Becoming instantly blank, as long wiped free from emotion. He would lean against the wall, sinking into the shadows once more, hearing his name called by the music man. He would grin widely, there was just something about his tone, reminding the clown of all the things they had gotten up to thus far. The spectacular show they had given at the bank, accompanied by the Shark boy. It had been so much fun, and there had been so much yummy suffering for Jester to lap up. It was a pleasant memory for the clown, maybe it would be worth looking into. If the Music man was there, perhaps he could enjoy themselves. Maybe he could steady his mind and form a fun new game for them to place together. A performance between them could certainly become interesting if Jester had any say in how it ended.

With the bodies of the audience; writhing in agony and screaming in terror, perhaps? Yes... that was a tasty thought.

His imagination now alight with possibilities, Jester made his decision. As they walked into the hallway, Jester would step out of the shadows, a wide grin on his clown face. His golden eyes ready alight with the need to create some delicious mayhem. He did a twirl, stopping in front of the two of them, he spread his arms wide. "As long as we are going to give them a show they'll never forget... then you have your Jester~" He said, his voice silky and smooth, almost purring at the two of them. He would turn once more, falling in line next to the Music man, matching his pace as they walked along the halls of the guild. He would continue his excited skip from earlier, his fingers itching with anticipation for what may happen soon enough.

The Music Man Comes To Play

As Jester was now before the two, Baird grinned rather devilishly. Of course he had to of been listening in. “It is a show that will be to die for, for these rich people.” Baird honestly couldn’t help but chuckle to the other male before him. A moment later, he realized he hadn’t grabbed his shoes and vest, and quickly stopped his screeching violin to go back and grab the stuff. He was coming out of his room shoving one foot in a boot, and trying to stick his vest back on over it. “We’ll have to dress nicely if this festival is for the rich. I’ll have to play elegant music.” He stuck his tongue out as he rolled his eyes. That wouldn’t be too fun for him. Maybe after a little while it would be, when he got to play some beautiful music, but right now? The thought sickened him that he couldn’t wear what he wanted to play his music in.

After he had his clothes fully on his body, the trio had set off towards Minstrel. They had stopped along the way for at least Baird to find something fancy to wear as his current clothes weren’t suited for a fancy soiree like those in Minstrel. Yuiisai had seemed to find something of interest that needed her attention a bit more, but she had given Baird the paper for where they had to go. He was a little bit surprised that she was trusting him on his own with Jester to do a job as big as this. A snicker came across his lips as the now duo was in Minstrel. Baird had cleaned himself up rather nicely. His long green hair was tied back into a neat ponytail with his bangs parted over his eyes. He wore a clean white dress shirt with a black tie, freshly clean blue slacks, held up by a shiny black belt, tucked inside knee high boots, and had a pair of black gloves that nearly covered the whole of his palms.

With a tilt of his head, Baird looked over to Jester, and smirked. “Ready to put on a performance that will knock them dead?” He cooed to the clown as he held a regular violin in it’s case in his hand with a bow hiding within as well. It was nothing like the instruments he could summon forth on his own, but it was just a ploy for now. He was going to infuse it with his magic and hope that this could become one of his spells as well to rock this place. The party seemed like it was for some high end wealthy people, and Baird smirks. He had just the perfect song to win over their hearts. Walking into the venue, Baird smiled a rather charming smile to the people within, acting polite and nodding his head to a few. “Hey! Are you the act for tonight?” Some random girl came up to the two and Baird blinked a bit. She had a name tag on her vest and her hair tied back, with slightly thick rimmed glasses on her face. In her arm was a clipboard, and she looked rather serious.

A smile formed on the green haired youth’s face as he simply nodded. “Of course we are. I’m sorry for us being late if we are, we got stuck in a bit of traffic on the way here.” He pouts to the girl before him before he leans forward. Gingerly, he grabbed her chin as he let his smile come back a little, but a little sad. “It won’t be a problem, right dear? We’ve come all this way to come and perform for everyone. It’d be a shame if we were turned away.” His voice was soft and husky for her, enough to send chills down her spine and make her cheeks blush a deep red, getting rid of that serious expression for just a bit. “Y-yeah! N-no problem!” She stammered to him before she quickly looked away. Baird smiled brighter and nodded happily. “Great! We’ll go set up!” He tells her before making his way around. “O-oh! You’re actually not too late! Just for rehearsals. The show itself starts in a half hour from right… now.” She had looked at her watch. “You two will be our last act. You better practice fast if you intend to play good.”

Baird snorts to that comment, knowing he didn’t need to practice, but looks over his shoulder. “Thank you, sweetheart.” He tells her before winking at her and going towards the back of the stage. He was holding his violin over his shoulder now, and looking around. He wanted to see how many people were here at this theater for the festival. It was more of an inside festival than one that is typically outside. “Jester, you don’t need me to play the song for you, right? Or do you need a little bit of it?” Despite him asking that, he found a tall, wooden, three legged stool and set his case on it. He had left it there to get a peek through the curtains to see how many people started coming, and how big the theater as a whole was. He had never played on an official stage before, but now would be his chance. This place was fairly big, and with how the echoes were coming, it was bound to be amazing.

He goes back to his violin, and takes it out of the case before he places the chin rest under his chin. He started playing a little bit of the song he was wanting to play, wanting to make sure the violin was right and the tune sounded good as it did in his head. Of course, as he played it, it sounded delightful. It could also give Jester something to start dancing to if he needed help like that. Bairds face was completely serious as he played little segments of it. He was playing out of order for others to think his song was messed up, but when he was to get on stage, the song would be the beautiful masterpiece that would knock everyone’s socks off. It’s a shame they were all gonna die and not get to hear him more. Maybe he could save a few to be his fans. That would be great to have. At least Jester was here to hear his beautiful music for everyone.

A Musical Massacre Empty Re: A Musical Massacre

Post by Jester 28th November 2019, 9:05 am

Jester's fingers tapped the entire way to the Minstrel, like the dripping of a tap, the clicking of a clock or a repetitive beat of a song with no melody. Tap, tap, tap. On any surface, he could find. The cogs of his mind working, planning, preparing. He was going to perform on stage, in front of a monumental crowd. It had to be perfect, pristine, infallible. He couldn't allow himself to lose it, to lose himself, he wanted to enjoy the kill. He couldn't enjoy it if he allowed himself to divulge into that version of Jester. There were things that triggered it, he knew they would occur tonight. But he had to stay in control, to play the game, the finish the game. The tapping soothed him, kept him present as he prepared himself. The arrived as the Grande Royale theatre of Minstrel, stepping inside of the extravagant building. The clown dressed in a black suit, shirt and tie as opposed to his usual attire, no signature painted symbols on his cheeks. for now, he looked rather normal, the only feature of him that stuck out was his bright orange hair. As he entered the building, his expression was stoic and cold but his golden eyes explored the theatre hungrily, moving behind the Music Man with an even pace. Moving as though they belonged there, which they did, who belonged to the house of entertainment more than entertainers such as them.

It wasn't dissimilar to that place.

The velvet curtains, the gold beams, rows upon rows of plush seats waiting to be filled with eager faces, watching your every move. Feasting on it. Like a buffet served up for the picking, their eyes ready to pick you dry. Just like back then, they feasted too, until they could not feast any more. Until he gave them a feast to end all feasts. The Music Man spoke, pulling his gaze from the room and back to the game. The play. The performance at hand. He dragged his eyes over to his green-haired accomplice. He said nothing in response, but his eyes did flicker with excitement and his face split into a wide clown-ish grin. A response to his question, he was ready.

The music man would do his part, whilst Jester observed. He had not taken a role he usually might of for this event, he could playful the handsome charmer but it seemed unnecessary. The Music man had that covered, he was good at it too. Extremely so. Instead, he put on the face of a nervous performer. He didn't play this character often, but it was always fun, smiling shyly, bumbling over one's words, anxious ticks. A rube hiding being his fellow performer, nodding along to the extroverted character, creating a clear, believable dynamic. The Music Man's flirtatious exchange with the girl did the job of getting the pair into the show. Which quite frankly was all the preparations that were needed, once they were on that stage, then everything else would fall into place. As the woman left them two it, Jester turned to the Music Man, who offered to play him the tune he would be performing too. "That won't be necessary." He confirmed. He didn't need to know the melody, to choreograph his movements to it. Jester had danced for far too long, so many gruelling hours, blistered feet and sore muscles had led him to his capabilities today. He would manage without, but he understood the need for asking.

The preparations for the show digressed, the Music Man played a tune to which Jester tapped along to. However he did not dance, not yet, he would save that for the stage. For the final level in this game. He could hear the crowds filing in distantly, the hungry eyes waiting in their plush seats. They were excited, relaxed, chattering away to themselves, oh so full of life. Oh how that would change soon enough. Much like the excited guests, excitement would fill the clown too. So close it was. The impending chaos, he could practically taste it.

The stagehands moved in place, the first set of performers ready and waiting in the wings. The dull roar of the audience like a hum now, only to be shushed as the lights in the theatre dimmed indicating the start of the show. And then, a booming voice, blasted over the speakers would address them all; "Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for joining us on this wonderful evening, soon to be filled marvel, wonder and delight. Tonight we have gathered for you, an array of performs delivered by some of Earthlands most talented individuals. So without further, we give you The Grande Royale's Variety Heart Gala!" There was an explosion of applause from the crowd, that settled down after a moment. The moment of spotlight appeared on the stage, where stood was a beautiful ballerina. Petite and lithe, she stood poised, like a perfect doll. And then she would move, music trickled into from the theatre's orchestra. She was good, undoubtedly a talent. Her moves picked heartily by those eyes, even Jester picked a little. She brought memories of acrobats and trapezers who moved with such grace, except they were much, more talented than she, and the fellow ballerinas that joined her as the song continued.

Still, it reassured the clown. This was nothing, they could not trigger him. If this was the standard, good as it was, it would never be close to the Cirque de Rêves. He was fine, for this, his mind would be fine. The ballerina's performance came to an end, stirring tremendous applause from the audience who were far more impressed than the clown had been. This quickly moved onto the next performance, an opera singer. Jester's eyes moved over to the Music Man, wondering how he saw the performances. Would they irk him? He was a music man, after all, this was his domain. Just as the performance was Jesters. He wondered what sort of thoughts paraded the greenette's mind at present, although he would surely see soon enough. When the show came to its closing act, and the two of them would undoubtedly paint the theatre red.

A Musical Massacre Empty Re: A Musical Massacre

Post by Faulkner 7th December 2019, 9:29 pm

The Music Man Comes To Play

The green haired musician was glad that his partner was ready. He as getting the jitters. The excitement was too much for him to bare. He would just have to persevere. He didn’t care if Jester didn’t dance to his music when he started to play the out of order song on his boring violin. He was starting to imbue his magic into the simple violin. As he did so, it seemed his intentions were starting to show on the violin itself. The dark red color of the wood of the scroll started to slowly turn black in color. Cracks were slowly splitting into the wood the further it started to spread on it. His green eyes were closed as he was focusing on his music and the magic. The serious expression never lifting as a small snarl was on his lips, trying to work his magic faster and tune the violin correctly. It had to be perfect. He seemed to relax more the closer to perfect the instrument got, till a small smile was on his face once again and he slumped his shoulders while playing the random sounding tune. If anything, Jester might of enjoyed how garbled the notes were out of everyone there.

He opened his eyes just as the stagehands were getting in place and setting things up. He packed away his violin back into its case for now, noticing that the scroll and pegbox were the only parts of the violin that were black. He honestly didn’t even know at first that it was happening while he was playing his music. Nonetheless, he found it to look beautiful like so. He looked up just as the announcer boomed over the speakers. He looked to Jester, and smirked to him happily. “We’ll be the winners of this.” He muses rather happily. He went to peek at the first performer. A little girl looking like a doll. He raised an eyebrow as he recognized some of the moves. Sometimes when he tried to dance with his instruments, he did them. He nodded a little before he moved away to ignore her. The music could be better. But not every orchestra was perfect, even after ages of practice.

When the next act was up, the green haired man raised an eyebrow. He knew the song they were singing and was mouthing the song to himself. He was, though, holding a hand up and mocking the singer from where he was. He stopped quickly though, not wanting to get in trouble so soon. “Her voice is not high enough. And she’s not putting her heart into it. I’m tempted to recreate her song and give them their money’s worth.” He scoffed to himself. He was mumbling other nonsense to himself about the singer, but ultimately shook his head as he knew it was pointless. He went back to mouthing the song himself, enjoying the soft version coming from his own vocal pipes. He was tapping another tune onto the case of his violin. He was getting impatient for their turn, but it apparently would take about an hour or so till they could go up on stage. Maybe just a little less than two hours with an intermission. He looked over to Jester, to see if he was excited as well.

“How exactly do we want to have fun tonight? Just revel in the after effects of our display of talents?” He questions. He smirked rather devilishly towards the clown, sitting himself down on another stool while he waited. Being last was such a bore sometimes. They had to listen and watch all the other performers and wait. Do basically nothing. Baird put his hands on the back of his stool and lightly swayed his head from side to side as he began to hum a rather ridiculous sounding tune. It was more childish really, but others were thinking it was ridiculous he was humming it. He stopped as he saw the little glasses girl from before was walking around backstage talking to the other performers. A smirk slips on his lips and he scooted himself off the stool. “I think I want to pass the time. I’ll be back. You can do well on your own till it’s our time, right?” He asked as he looked back at the clown. He only seen Jester acting carefree and enjoying himself doing whatever it was they were doing together. Acting somewhat serious and not immediately murdering a body like they usually do? That was different.

Baird takes a deep breath as he shook out his shoulders and decided to go after the little girl while a small swing band with a flapper dancer went up on stage. He got close to the girl, and tapped her shoulder, smirking coyly to her. “Sorry to interrupt,” He says as he glanced towards the other man nearby. “I didn’t really catch your name?” He really didn’t pay attention to her name tag. The girl looked to him and sighed. “Jeanette.” She says as she looks to her clipboard. She knew how his eyes could kill her already, she didn’t want to be swept away once again by them. Of course, Baird clearly had other plans and intended for just that. He leaned his head sideways to be able to catch her eyes while he held his hands behind his back. “I’m sorry, I should have read your name tag, my dear. Please forgive me?” He murmurs to her as he gives her a sweet smile. “I honestly can say you’re doing a swell job managing back here and keeping everyone in order…”

She glanced to him and he smirks before he leans in close to her ear to whisper something to her. He glanced towards where Jester was, then grinned as her face turned beet red. He saw someone walking by who seemed like an assistant stage hand, and grabbed the clipboard from Jeanette to have the other hold it. “I need to borrow her for a moment.” He muses as he looks to the still blushing Jeanette. “But I need to keep the show running!” She tried to protest, grabbing his arm. Baird smirked and leaned in close. “My dear. We have some time, and he’ll take care of it, don’t fret. You’re not the only one who has worked on this show. Besides, your clipboard looked so neat and informed, if he couldn’t follow it, then it’s his fault.” He purrs, grabbing one of her wrists and lightly tugging her arm to get her to move. It clearly didn’t take much for him to do so as she followed after him, but instantly took charge and was leading him away. Baird wasn’t expecting that, but he supposed it was worth it instead. He’d make sure he was back before it was his and Jesters turn. That was the whole point of him grabbing the clipboard.

Of course the green haired musician was feeling extra lucky being able to get someone behind a closed door before he had a show. Honestly felt that it’d calm his nerves by the time he got back. And indeed he did feel relaxed when he walked back to where his violin was left. He opened it and checked it while also adjusting his shirt and one of his gloves on his hands. His hair was only slightly messy as he was able to quickly rearranged it back to its ponytail. A smirk was on his lips as he was listening to Jeanette frantically getting herself back together and on track. She was a bit more deshelved than he was. “That wasn’t as fun as I was hoping it would be, but it did pass the time.” He whistled to himself quietly. It would be just a little bit longer till he and Jester were up, he could barely wait. He shook out his shoulders and stretched his fingers as he was mentally going over the song, tapping his foot to the current singers song. His voice was better. Always was. “Song of the dead. May you rest in peace.” He hums smoothly, snickering to himself as he glanced over his shoulder to see the girl he was just with. Too bad she was going down too. Oh well.

A Musical Massacre Empty Re: A Musical Massacre

Post by Jester 9th March 2020, 5:04 pm

Jester's curiosity over the Music Man's ire would soon be answered by his remark as he assessed the opera singer spoken by a being of utter hubris. One assured in their own abilities to deliver a true performance, one that the audience deserved. It occurred to the clown that this might be why he was so drawn to the music man, why they almost shared kinship in their performative ways. Only one such as they would find faults in such a convincing show, the audience would be pleased despite this. Their pitiful narrow-minds were unable to see the flaws only available to one with training and expertise. Perhaps a burden to the truly talented. To struggle to enjoy any sub-par or less-than-exquisite entertainment because you knew, deep in your heart than you yourself, could create something much more beautiful. Something that could warm the hearts of the coldest souls, and bring a smile to the most unmovable dullard. Even without magic, there was a true power in the arts, if you knew how to tap into it, it was yours to wield.

The music man proposed a question, a curious one indeed. Ideas and patterns had already begun percolating in the sinister joker of a man's mind, he had several ways to broach the situation. At least twenty delicious little ways he could find a satisfying end the Grand Royale's Variety Heart Gala. Although settling on one would be something he might struggle to do until the very last moment. Either that or whenever he spotted his key players for today's event. There was one thing with which he was certain, that the majority of the guests and show folk that stood in these halls tonight would live to see tomorrow. If any of them survived, it would be at their grace and for the purpose of sharing the terrors that they would soon see. He released a soft giggle, his eyes trapped on the singer. "Oh I say, we give them a show they'll never forget. Or perhaps they might, depending on the true consequence of death. But who knows what lurks behind that red door." He mused idly, shooting a devilish grin at his companion. The aftermath of death wasn't something the clown pondered often, as one who often dealt in it, what happened to his victims didn't matter. It was what happened in life that was of strict importance to him, most importantly what painful, tragic means to which he delivered their end. "I'm sure our improvisations should prove to be the greatest display the audience shall bear witness to tonight.  I, for one, plan to have them screaming with delight... or just screaming." He remarked in a sinister tone, following the hint of machinations with an excited giggle.

As the music man declared his desires to find some means of passing the time, the clown nodded in agreement, waving his hand as a means to encourage the green-haired bard to go have his fun.  He was sure that his guildmate had no intentions of failing the task at hand, whatever it was he got up to in the meantime, there was no doubt in that red-heads mind that his venturings would little to no role in stopping him returning when the time was upon them to begin. Meanwhile, the clown planned to sit a little longer, to ruminate on his plan as he watched the show. His golden eyes trained on the reckless legs of the flapper dancer, who whilst frisky in her performance was by no means enough to capture his excitement. And so one by one performer would pass through the stage, and the clown would watch, his foot tapping at a relentless pace the entire time. Not one of them giving him a show that appeased him, he had seen so much better in his past, so much more skill back during his circus days. The gruelling hours of endless training, strategic planning, that had gone into those shows. Every show was beautiful, a delicious compilation of blood, sweat and tears. Nothing compared to that. As the clown sat here, comparing the past with the present, he was resigned to the fact there was not a single player worth saving tonight. As such with each moment that pass, he would grow hungrier with anticipation. His want for the grand crescendo of pain that he would deliver waiting for him. That moment went he could bask in the pain and suffering of so many innocents, for that euphoria pleasure that was yet to come.

The Music Man returned to him, smelling of a woman's perfume amongst other intimate scents. He, himself, had little interest in such carnal acts of humanity. Jester rarely felt himself in a situation where he craved such releases, to him no amount of sex could equate the sheer pleasure that comes with orchestrating devastation. Such things were just a tool that he could use if necessary, albeit with great restraint. After all, Jester was not one for being touched. It was so rare that he ever felt any semblance of sexual desure for another person, and whilst he could find the means to perform during the act. It was often fueled by dark, unsavoury thoughts. Once that would no doubt repulse the bodies that had lain beneath him during those times. Even in the bedroom, he was a monster, a monster beneath a talented act. "It's nearly time, Music Man, May the real fun can begin!" He commented in almost hysterical glee, climbing to his feet, he inched closer to the stage. Fingers flexing with need as that fateful time crept closer. And finally, as the last of the performers scuttled off of the stage, the curtain would lower for them, and Jester moved forward. Getting into position, he would kneel, curling into a tight ball at centre stage. It didn't really matter where Baird positioned himself, he would work around him. All that he needed to trust was that the Music Man would deliver a most astonishing song for him to dance to.

Distantly the clown would hear the presenter, the audience applause quietening as they walked onto the stage. The hard heels of their shoes echoing across the large walls of the arena, as the man offered praised into the microphone of the mediocre group that had gone before them. Before introducing their final act, the bard and the jester. And so the stage would go dark, the velvet red curtain would rise as the crowd hushed to a complete silence. Focusing their attention on the show one last time, ready to see what it had in store for them. A spot line suddenly shining onto the stage like a brilliant beacon of exposure, and so it was this cue that told them that it was time to begin their most, splendid show.

As the music began, and Jester would begin to move, smoothly he unfolded like a blooming lotus. His limbs stretching upward like stems of a flower reaching for the sun, every motion he made as smooth as elegant as a panther. Every twist as hypnotic as a cobra, whilst carried with such delicacy and precision as though a single error could shatter its mesmerising illusion. As he brought himself up to his feet, he swiftly began to spin across the stage, his interpretive dance telling a sweet, yet tragic tale. All the while around the room, dolls would begin to appear the shadows. Harlequins standing in each crevice of the room, stepping forth from one another until there was one for every metre across the back wall. They made no moves at this point, instead, they would just stand there. Their blank mask staring straight ahead, waiting for the orders of their masters. Going completely unnoticed by the crowd, who could not take their eyes away from the stage.

Once Jester was certain that the pair were truly holding their audience captive with their performance. His movements would increase in speed, becoming wilder and more chaotic with each second that passed. He would deliver moves that would elicit gasps of awe from the crowd. His steps becoming more risque, as he carried out jumps, leaps and flips across the stage, delivering them with immense skills and accuracy. Until finally, he slowed, arms stretched outwards, his chin stretched proudly. He circled back to face the audience, standing for a moment, before aching back, with the flexibility of a true contortionist. His spine arched back on itself in an almost inhuman manner, it was in this bent state that the clown would finally meet the gaze of the Music Man. His golden eyes sparkling with malevolence as he offered him a subtle wink, a sign that it was time. Now that the audience's hearts were racing with delight at the impressive nature of their show, their very cores captured by the unbelievable talent they were now witnessing, something so incredibly better than anything they'd seen so far, that now was the time to strike.

And for the real show to begin.
