- Job Title: Engine # 9
Rank: C
Player Requirements: Must be a Member of Fairy Tail. May bring a partner with you but they must be a member of the Guild.
Job Requirements: Thread must be 3,000 words. Return the stolen engine to the Clockwork Archer guild hall.
Job Location: Motor City
Job Description: The guild of mages known as 'White Hand' is up to no good and has stolen a new prototype engine from the famed mechanics guild "Clockwork Archer" that was meant to go in a car and be sold to a very wealthy individual. The garage is in a panic as they want this sale to go through badly. The engine hasn't left the city yet, as it has a built in tracking device and is still within range. The guild that Fairy Tail has a contract with specializes in mixing magic with technology.
The tracking device shows that the engine is at a department store said to be run after hours by the dark guild known as 'White Hand' who specialize in infiltration and being in control when you don't know they're even around. Sneak into the department store after hours and find the warehouse in the back run by White Hand. Defeat, persuade or, destroy their members so that the engine can be returned to the garage of the technomancy guild.
Enemies:
Weak: White Hand Worker - These guys aren't very tough and go down in a single D-Ranked spell or with that amount of damage. They aren't mages, but they may be packing guns, knives, swords, or other weapons. Be careful.
Normal: White Hand Mage - These guys or girls are pretty dangerous, and use a variety of magic. Be on your guard because they're actually mages of the guild and could hurt you bad if you're caught slipping. Takes 3 C-Ranked hits to defeat.
Strong: White Hand Superior Mage - Stronger mages of the guild. Most of them are highly specialized in their field of magic. They are pretty tough physically, and take 4 hits of C-Ranked damage to defeat.
Boss: White Hand Supervisor - The lady in charge of all the operations. A very powerful fire mage who is not to be taken lightly. She uses her Fire-Make to pitch perfection up to B-rank in levels of power. Be wary as she will try to blow the entire department store up with her magic when she gets too hurt. Once hurt enough, she will escape and leave the engine with you, abandoning the mission of returning the engine to White Hand's guild hall and fleeing instead, leaving you free to return it to the Clockwork Archer guild hall.
Reward: 3000j and connections in Motor City
I've been out there and seen the things she's made
The real question was… when had Mythal agreed to help newbies to the guild?
He supposed he hadn’t; everyone that had met him or worked with him thus far knew he was a bit on the socially awkward side. But he was taking up jobs sometimes faster than they could be posted and apparently getting noticed for it. First it was the joint operations with Sabertooth and Serilda specifically and now it was apparently helping some of the more novice members on the more difficult jobs. And while he certainly hadn’t agreed to it, he had in a way. Fairy Tail was all about helping their members thrive and succeed and that meant teaming people together. It didn’t always work out that the people who were paired had similar magics or personalities but that was all a part of getting people out of their shells. Sadly, it mostly just felt like making Mythal have to interact and get along with his fellow guild mates.
That’s why he had been asked to help one of the newer members with a job in Motor City. A town made up of engineers and vehicle junkies, the air was thick with the smell of oil and earned sweat. Luckily towns such as this were also renowned for their dives and holes in the wall. Mythal was able to sit himself down at the flight there and grab himself a beer, consuming nearly a pint and a half of the bitter liquid. He had settled into one of the booths in the corner, so that he could have a perfect view of the door. Doing that, he could spot anyone that walked in and perhaps even get an eyeful of the guy he was supposed to be meeting.
As he sat there, he pulled out the tracker he had been given upon acceptance of the job. Apparently the Clockwork Archer guild had been burgled and was now down an engine. They had planned ahead and put a tracker in the thing just in case and it was telling them it was still within the boundaries of the city. But they also believed that the guild that had stolen from them was a dark guild by the name of the White Hand. So they wanted someone a bit more… prepared to handle the reacquisition of the engine. “Hopefully this guy knows how to fight…” Mythal muttered as he pocketed the tracker once more.
