Night of Eternal Darkness [Event Job | Mythica]

Apparently, Leila’s arm had been caught under the falling chandelier a few moments earlier, and in its disappearance, her damaged arm had been freed again. He could fathom the vines that moved around her arm like snakes, seemingly functioning as alternative bandages or something else. Either way, he was relived due to her calm voice that signaled that things were under control again, and with the arrival of another person who claimed to have been a healer, things truly seemed just fine. Or well, putting aside the questions about this gala, that was. Mura, personally, had a fair share of thoughts about all this, but he was trying his best to focus on doing what felt like the only necessary thing to do; find these Mystic Candies...

Even hat-chan had gone out to do her best as he slowly ruffled his own hair. Turning his gaze towards Mythica, he nodded after her words. “Yeah, I guess,” he replied courageously, whilst the bandages that were holding Harusame on his back were pulled off by his own hands as he advanced out into the gloomy nothingness. As soon as the shaft was apparent, he unsheathed it without hesitation as he suddenly felt quite Midian once again. Not to long after, Kyuken appeared as a ghost ball right beside his face as he advanced forward whilst having his eyes everywhere. Those Evening Sprites that the Regent talked about… he was going to target them in order to gain the specified candies. He already heard voices, despite having thought that it would take a while to find anyone else within the darkness, but… was that… was that quacks? Did he hear right? “… You heard that?” he spoke silently to his samurai ghost. The spirit couldn’t but nod in worry, also confused that quacks were heard now. They barely got much more time to guess the source of those sounds as fairly large, black frogs began leaking out from the black mists. Just as the shaman was charging towards their position, they too leapt with their extremely elastic legs towards him as well, each lashing out their dark-orange tongues. Mura saw them coming ahead, but without Kyuken’s spirit fused within his own, he had no choice but to evade the tongues as he dashed up into the air. However, as he held his gaze at their tongues for a brief moment, they weren’t aimed at his torso… neither were they aimed at his head. He landed in the middle of the two tongue’s paths as he was found seemingly trapped, for now, the two toads charged towards him whilst their tongues made their ways around his back to try and lock him in. Rapidly, Mura managed to swing Harusame once, and he specifically aimed at Kyuken’s spirit ball form as the metallic blade bathed in the samurai ghost’s essence and merged, triggering the requirements for one of his many spells.

Spirit Bind: Keishihai!

By the impacts with his spirited blade, the tongues appeared to have felt rather too numb to continue their trajectory as they fell onto the ground, leaving Mura free to send another short cut towards the charging frogs who were taken by surprise. He uttered not a single word as they were pushed back, whilst he moved Harusame across the front and swooped the frogs away, his tuxedo only having caught a tad saliva from their tongues earlier. He slowly turned his face around both to track down potential, next opponents and to look over at how the others were doing… the fog, though, made that difficult for him. “Candy is raising from the grave again… uh,” he stated, but something felt rather weird in his comment, “I mean… argh, nevermind. Kyuken, next time, we’re going with that new technique, roger?”

Mythica watched intently as Mura conversed with the other girl. To be perfectly honest with herself, the clock eyed witch knew next to nothing about her other than her name. Of course, that fact about everyone was known to her. Not that it really did a lot for her though. There wasn't a ton of stuff one could learn just by knowing another's name. However, it didn't take long for Mura to finish his conversation with the witch and move outside. Mythica gladly followed him, a skip in her step as she hummed a quiet tune. Her hands were behind her back as she admired the the new scenery around them. With a grin, she shut her eyes and breathed it all in. The atmosphere was indeed alien. Unlike anything she had ever felt before. It possessed an eerie dark vibe to it. For a regular mage, it would seem unsettling. However, Mythica was no normal mage. At least that's what she liked to think anyways.

Not long after, the dangers of this new world soon became apparent to Mura in a surprising manner. Out of the darkness, two large toads appeared out of nowhere and began their assault at once. Myth dared not intervene, as it was rather entertaining to watch him fight. While the toads gave him some trouble, she had little doubt he'd be able to turn it around. And so he did. The fight didn't last long until the samurai whipped out his blade and effortlessly dealt with the toads. However that wouldn't be the end of the party.

Mythica heard a faint shimmering noise behind her. A question mark expression appeared on her as she turned to see what it was, and when she spun around to see three large sparks floating in the air. Not exactly knowing what they were, Mythica tilted her head with curiosity. That was until the sparks exploded suddenly to reveal large sprites! One of them charged straight towards Mythica, but she saw this coming and sidestepped before ducking under the second's charge and spinning around the third's. She grinned and began to laugh a bit. "Well then, let's play!" She said through a dark grin. Suddenly a dark red aura would surround the witch, and before the sprites could react Mythica had transformed in a yellow flash! She now wore her long orange frilled dress with her uneven twintail hair style. Her yellow clock eye exposed and golden for everyone to see now...

Her two weapons appeared in her hands as she held them out just as the sprites prepared for another assault. One waved her hand and caused autumn leaves to spiral out of the air towards Mythica! With incredible speed, however, Mythica jumped above them much to their surprise. She landed right behind the three sprites, and spun around releasing a bolt of magic into one's back, shoving her out of the way and grabbing her friend. She held her by the neck and swung her around to use as a shield against the 3rd sprite's night spike! It stabbed the female sprite straight through the stomach, and with a swift kick, Mythica shoved her forward as she held up her rifle and released several shots at the remaining sprite. She managed to fly upwards just out of reach from Mythica's magic bolts, and hover in the air far above her. She began charging a spell in the air, but then Mythica vanished... She appeared suddenly right behind the sprite in the air! With a hard kick, she delivered a critical blow to the sprite, hitting her back towards the earth. The sprite landed with force, knocking up dirt. As she slowly got to her feet, Mythica was waiting. She stood there aiming her rifle at the sprite's head. She looked up in horror as Mythica chuckled... Firing the killing blow.

Blowing the smoke from her guns, Mythica wandered over to the spot she had first encountered the three sprites and found something interesting. In the dirt a glistening package shone. "Oooh! Have a sweet tooth?" She chuckled at Mura, bending over to pick up a few magical candies. She tossed one to Mura.

Not too long after his victory over the toads had others interfered in the two mages’ search for candy; however, given their spirited appearances and revelations of their containments, they were just what Mura had been looking for. In an instant, he fathomed the strangely auric candies inside the bellies of each of the three ghastly, bluish and bright sprites that had arrived at the scene, but they didn’t look like cooperating too much as they immediately went for Mythica. Then again, he had already been with her for that mission back in that day, eh? He barely bothered worrying, since she was more than sufficient to end their plans.

Watching her change to that getup sure brought memories of that mission… it also brought back some worries. Her facial expression always appeared to grow colder… but even worse, her soul began revealing cracks that he couldn’t see earlier when she was calm and rather joyful. It began worrying him even further, but he shouldn’t do that out here. He had many things to watch out for… one of them could be possible ambushes in the shadows. Well, the conjurer had already defeated most of her foes, and when Mura turned his face towards her, she appeared to have extracted the candies from the sprites’ bodies as she handed him one. “O-Oh, thanks..!” he spoke and grabbed one in his left hand.

He began approaching the smiling time mage and turned his face around. “… I can’t hear everyone else,” he spoke, having lost the sound of those from the gala, as if all of a sudden, the two mages had been thrown into a plane of their own, “This world must’ve thrown us adrift… but we got the candy now. Maybe there’s more of those sprites.”
