    Break the Siege!:
    Job: Break the Siege!
    Rank: D
Player Requirements: A minimum of two wizards of any rank. Fifteen posts in total required. 100 word minimum per post.
Job Requirements: You must defeat the thirty bandits holding the small village of Quanny under siege.
Job Location: Small Village near the Ancient Ruins

Job Description: As you are walking along one day, you see a lowly looking man walking out of the town's law enforcement agency with a withdrawn and sad look on his face. You write it off as something minor, like he couldn't pay a ticket he owned, but as soon as you turn away, he looks up and sees you. The man is immediately stricken in awe by your majesty and power and hobbles over to you. The man proceeds to be for almost an hour for you to help him. After you finally give in and ask him what he wants, he then tells you about his village, Quanny Village, that is by the Ancient Ruins. He tells you that a large group of bandits has taken over his peaceful village and are using the citizens to excavate dangerous portions of the Ancient Ruins. He pleads for you to deal with the bandits. If you choose to agree, he will thank you and immediately take you to the village.

    Enemies:
Weak: Thieves. There are twelve of these individuals in total around the village. They can be found looting graves, homes, or anything that might seem to hold some value. They travel in pairs. They do not do much physical damage, however, they are quite fast and good at dodging. And they can whistle like nobodies business. They do not use magic. They attack with daggers.

Normal: Marauders. There are twelve of these individuals scattered around the village. There tends to be one Marauder with every pair of thieves, as the slow and clumsy Marauders who deal heavy melee damage use the thieves as their support so to speak. The thieves keep their target busy and the Marauder comes in for the kill. They do not use magic. They attack with powerful bronze knuckles.

Strong: Gunslingers. There are five of these individuals scattered around the village. They tend to go out on their own, but they're stronger than their counterparts in the fact that they are smarter. Ambushing them is difficult, and they use their Gun Magic to help them keep their enemies at bay. Their techniques consist of three spells:

Stun Shot: They shoot a single energy bullet at you, aiming for a critical spot on your body. If it lands, you will receive mild D-Rank damage, but be slightly disoriented for a post.

Gatling Shot: They shoot out ten energy bullets at you. If a bullet lands, you will receive mild D-Rank damage but the spot will sting for two posts.

Sniper Shot: They aim for your head this time, shooting once. If the attack lands, you will receive normal D-Rank damage, and will bleed a little for a post.

These enemies are very weak physically.

Boss:[/u] Scourge. Scourge is a C-Rank Fire Wizard. He is capable of throwing flames up to thirty feet away from his body, coat his body in flames for one post, and imbue his physical attacks with fire, leaving first degree burn damage. He is weak against water-based magics. If you do not want to fight him, he will take bribes, or simple shows of power will deter him as well. He is not nearly as smart as his gunslingers, but he is clever.

Note: You can only finish this mission if all thirty bandits are defeated. If you beat all the weak-rank bandits and roll the dice and still get weak-rank rolls, you can combine rolls to equal the rank of the bandit you are fighting.

Reward: Become the hero(es) of Quanny Village and will receive 1,000 jewel.

    Job Information: Break the Siege
Job Approval: Post #874; Page #35

During his travels from a neighboring region, the job he was formerly tasked with had left him with an empty feeling of accomplishment, something that would ultimately bother the strange creature that he was. This could perhaps be easily distinguished by his slouched and drawn movements and gestures.
Beyond his mood, it hadn't taken him terribly long to arrive at a nearby town, it was small and otherwise nothing remarkable by any stretch- In-fact one could almost say it was rundown, or nearly a ghost town. Regardless of its state of matters, something tickled the back of his mind; he felt purpose in someone nearby. Fore long, a man came jogging next to the rather plainly outlandish Xellal and explained a situation of a town that was about half a days travel away.
"Please! I urge you to consider aiding us. I understand you're not a marked guild-mage, but you look capable sir!" While the man pleaded, it was nothing that could be considered grovelling. He maintained some modicum of composure, admirable.

"Fine, I will accept your request of aid. I'm unfamiliar with these lands however. I'll have you show me the way; perchance, do you have others heading that direction? I am of course, but one being."

Given a simple 'no' was a bit disheartening, but perhaps the two would find someone or something along the way. Fate was fickle and liked to answer requests with outlandish responses. So they departed, taking the fastest route to the town.

    An hour before Xellal
Alex was a man of passion, passion for helping the weak, the unfortunate, Alex was a real sweetheart. He would throw himself under a bus to protect those he loves, and it seemed to most like he was a saint. However there was one flaw he had. His extreme laziness. So, when the man started begging him to save his village, he was at first reluctant.

"Please, ma'am... I beg of you... These marauders have shown no mercy. My daughter, who is but 10 years old, was forced to work in the mines. Anyone who refused to work were shot or stabbed, as was my wife... Please, I beg of you... Just save my daughter. She'll die in those mines..."

That, however, was the trigger. Alex's face, which was shielded by her hood for the sun, shed a tear despite being asleep. She sniffled, and put her hand on his shoulder.

"If someone asks, tell them no one is out there. I couldn't possibly imagine the pain you're feeling... I'll take care of them. Point me in the direction of your village."

The man pointed towards the nearby Ancient Ruins.

"Th-Thank you, miss! You have my gratitude! Thank you, thank you again!"

"No problem. I'll have your daughter back and your village saved, but you have to do me a favor. Don't call me a girl, kay? I may look and sound like one, but I'm a guy."

With that, Alexis started off, walking towards the man's village. She reached it within the hour, but decided to play the recon for now. As such, she walked up the side of one of the houses in the village, and sat on the roof behind the chimney. She waited, as she saw no one, and waited for further proof of the bandits' existance, as well as their crimes.

your world is puny to me.
    for I am infinite
Although it was baggage to have the man guide Xellal to the village in question, it saved both effort and any suspicion that weighed on himself. Although he has yet to encounter it in this world, betrayal and cunning actions were the way of life where he came from. So he was not going to spare the old man any grace until he proved to give Xellal a reason otherwise.
The road itself was carved of gravel and markings of semi-frequent trade caravans, or perhaps merely passing through for a fast route. While his eyes and senses were acute, they lacked the clarity that they once had, divination an old specialty has only barely shown promise in these lands; it was both frustrating and relieving. To have the sight and understanding of so much around to, constantly sending and receiving signals of new information was taxing on the mind. But of course, the lack of which has left Xellal a bit more vulnerable than he once was. Something that will of course, grow to either live with; or correct given circumstances that lie in his future.

About an hour and a half passed during his travels with the man. The village peeked over the next hilltop and shown it’s age, or at least did to the mirror-man.

”Alright, this will do. You can wait in hiding here or head back. I cannot guarantee a speed in which this will be handled in. So you may be waiting awhile.”

Without allowing the man to speak much passed his own words, Xellal had planted either feet into the earth, tilting his body forwards and lunged. The breadth of his wings stretching to either side in their full form and carried the body the remaining distance. If it were any grace the rather obvious appearing man had, is during times of confusion. Most people merely pass him off as a hallucination, so he flew with speed to an unoccupied alleyway. Hearing the voices of ruffians and what he could distinguish is young innocents. Whether they were children, women or man it really didn’t concern him much other than the fact he was here to aid them.

So he begun, with his left elbow curved he gently out-stretched his hand and faced the palm to the sky. A dim glow of silver etched into the air inches above the palm, creating a circular formation that begun to fill other concentric and connected by branch circles within’. It was fundamental circle-magic to the sorcerer, despite the fact it was beyond the comprehension of this setting he found himself in. The sigils, runics and unifying words that populated within’ all varied in languages, shapes and seemed to be a compendium of differing languages all across the circle. And with a faint whisper the man spoke in a broken tongue

    ”Legendary Lore”

A wave of invisible energy laced itself throughout the entire village. A quiet hum that reverberated in his own ears spoke in readings of the entire layout of the village, who was present, what kind of items were in people’s cabinets, and ultimately the individual who orchestrated this chaos. – And something else.

”I sometimes still amuse myself; fate a fickle player. We have another like-minded magi present. But they are in hiding, suppose I aught to make them feel comfortable then. – Draw Scourge out it is then.”

Closing his palm, the etchings appeared to dissolve without any trace left behind. His attention was drawn to a building some forty-meters from his position, beyond three houses. A window was open and the target was within’; but it didn’t eliminate the other scum that existed out in the village. A show of power, unbridled and unmatched would certainly stir the fear in their hearts. Force a retreat or willing surrender. Sure, it might draw the attention of some energetic enemies; but from what he could glean over his readings they weren’t much to be worried about- Worse comes for worse, they make him bring the real him out. And that might cause a bit more destruction than he’d want, but worse has happened- And worse will yet to come.

Without delay, the man leaped to a roof; followed by a gust of wind rocketing him through the air like a bullet. The wings stabilizing him and guiding him towards the window he attributed; with the soft landing of a panther. All that remained was a short-lived breeze of air that caught through the room. The man was lounging on a couch just across from himself, staring with stark wide and confused eyes at the abomination.

”Greetings. Scourge, I’ve come to make this tyranny stop. I’m sure you understand.” his tone carrying a nuance of both calm and sympathetic- with an undertone of what was yet to come.

    “Tch don’t moc--! Gngk!”

Within’ the moment the man begun to speak, fire was flowing around his body as if he was ready to assault Xellal without a moment’s hesitation- It was reassuring to the sorcerer, it made it easier to justify.
As his own hand was extended a conjuration of water begun to tightly wrap itself around the man’s neck and mouth in a sweet embrace of cruelty. ”Come now, we both have a show to attend. Wouldn’t miss it for the world I hope.”

Dragging the spell along with the man outside the window he leaped and with a flick of the wrist sent the foe firing at thirty-kilometers towards the center of town. When he and the stone met a large ‘PWAF!’ echoed the surroundings. His men looking around in both uttered confusion and the gentle wisps of fear crawling down their backs. Xellal himself gently lofted in the air twenty-feet from the impact-zone.

”Come now Scourge, I know you have more than that in you!”

He did, it would be an interesting day. As a wave of fire lofted out of the pluming dust and debris like a dragon’s tongue- It was a bit insulting to the man, not that he would tell anyone why.
Regardless, the fire impacted the mirrored’ body and caused a burning slag chunk to fall to the ground below. It didn’t even look like Xellal attempted to defend himself, perhaps he was too unfamiliar with battle in this world. For ignorance just cost him some body; some that showed to hurt.

    ”Well… That’s a first. Interesting day indeed.”

Break the Siege! - Unlikely Allies Stand Together Empty Re: Break the Siege! - Unlikely Allies Stand Together

Post by Shipping Goddess 8th March 2017, 4:22 pm

Alex was scoping the scene, and for some an hour or so, nothing happened. He was just about to walk off the building, until he heard someone off from the distance. Some person, whose body Alex couldn't properly identify yet. He was too far off, not far enough for Alex to naturally see him with his eyes closed. Therefore, he waited until the man was within sight. However, such a pleasure of sight would never come as he flew by extremely fast, and broke through a window, to do.... something that Alex had no idea of. So, he quickly ran down the wall and onto the street, and then soon collapsed. He didn't collapse out of exhaustion or anything of that sort, as he soon got up and limped his way to the center of town. Instead, he fell into sleep's clutches even deeper, so that's what made him wobbly on his feet.

Once he reached the center of town, the man known as Scourge was already recovering from his assault, and began assaulting the mysterious man in return. Alex, assuming Scourge to be the worse of the bunch, immediately took to attacking him. He had no idea what was happening, but he knew he had to fight that person, whom was the leader of this pseudo-slavery. So, he put his hands to the ground, and a magic circle appeared below him.

"Zzz... Porkchop... Go knock 'em out... Zzz"

Within an instant, a massive pig appeared on the battlefield. And by massive, the pig was easily as big, if not bigger, than a house. This pig charged forward and rammed into the man known as Scourge, catching him way off guard. However suddenly, Alex got knocked off his feet, with a searing pain going through his head. Was he just... shot? The snipers on the roof were proof of this, as was the blood that dripped down the back of his neck. He slowly got up, and then turned aside.

"That... frickin... hurt... Hey- You here to help the civilians!? I'll fight you too if I have to, cuz they ARE getting freed!"

    Alex yelled at Xellal.

your world is puny to me.

Unexpected as a word wisely used for the entirety of the battlefield to witness someone conjure a massive pig straight out of gravity-falls; but an irrelevant piece of information. What was important is the person that intent on aiding Xellal whom was far-strung beyond his reach. Was shot; although thankfully not fatal. It had caused a visible strain of concern in the strange-appearing man.
Whom was hovering above the battlefield a good thirty-feet still. Fully in sight of the strike Alex had initiated. -- More importantly, where the assailant struck the ally from.
Without further hesitation, the being flew with conviction towards the sniper and lunged his hand outwards to try and grab ahold of the man's face- To which he had missed. The sniper taken the opportunity had evaded the grab with a swift roll of his form and took a shot at Xellal; to his surprise was deflected by the still present arm. It sparked, despite looking like mirrors. An unusual and frightening realization.

    "Rain."

Xellal had muttered something with a gruff stern voice, as if it was recited countless times afore. A sorcerer's circle magic etched itself into the air above his palm; to which he had extended open palmed towards the five marksmen along the rooftops- A moments notice passed before red and silver 'liquid' oozed out of his palm and fired off high-velocity 'needles' that lodged through each individuals hearts. Festering and convulsions occurred with little regard of grace and they dropped.

Turning his attention to the two down below; he saw Alex recovering and Scourge faced with a large pig. It was an unusual sight- But not the weirdest he has seen in his life. Having now been posted atop a roof-top.

"It appears the good-soul has come to aid me in stopping a man's tyrannical grips." Having spared Alex a glance, as if he felt confident the message was conveyed.

So this person wasn't here to help out the terrorists, which was good. Alex let the mirror man do as he please, taking out the snipers which posed a threat to Alex, being able to attack her from quite the distance away. This was nice, no, great news to the tactician, as he could focus solely on the enemy at hand, the leader. Scrouge. Finding him now recovering from the massive pig onslaught, the fire mage became literally hot headed, as his head surrounded in flames. He then created four pillars of flame around Alex, which then closed in on the strategist. Alex quickly avoided the flames by diving forward, then raised his hands to his head. Thinking a swift knockout would be of proper use, he decided sacrificing a bit of his vitality would be just fine.

A black and red magic circle appeared below Alexander's feet, as soon a wave of spiders crawled out from the ground, with many of them crawling up Alex's feet and up his legs, biting him repeatedly and injecting him with venom. Alex stumbled a bit, but soon recovered, and he spoke the words aloud.

"Nightmare Make: The Parasitic Armored Arachnid!"

The massive spider conjured up, making the fire mage stop in his tracks, as he was about to go for another attack on Alex. Seeing the giant arachnid with one eye made him instantly buckle to his knees, and beg for mercy. He promised that he'd leave, with or without his men. He didn't care at this point, as he only feared for his life. Unknown to him, Alex wasn't planning on killing him at all. Fear / Scare tactics were amongst the most viable in battle, so Alex got away with not needing to do much. Alex used his spell to then instantly knock out two thieves, which he saw running past the group, trying to get away amongst all the chaos.

"Leave, then. If I ever find you back here, I'll make sure to throw you into the pile of mud that Porkchop rolls through."

With that, Scourge bursted into flames and vanished in an instant. This left Alex alone in the street, contemplating over what just happened. He suddenly realized he had to go free those hostages! So, he ran towards what looked like the mines, leaving Xellal with the remainder of Scourge's team that roamed the upper ground. If need be, Alex would just take out those that remained in the mines as well.

your world is puny to me.
    for I am infinite
After only a matter of moments when Alex took off, Xellal had been watching with curious intent.

Which only lived a short-while until it came to realization that he had other things to occupy himself with; like the small militia of marauders that were trying to trail Alex. A grindy groan emerged from Xellal afore he leaped from the rooftops and landed patiently in the path that would take them to the mines. Only for them to come eye to eye with what was best described as a strange golem.

"Hello~" he mused carelessly. Only to be met with a brain-dead combatant rushing in and swinging towards his gut. It was certainly a lot less talk capable in this world he thought. As it keeled over only a few inches; with some careful maneuvering backwards it granted an ample source of time to twist his wrist forwards and the earth around the last numbers of outlaws were met with a slew of earthen spikes erupting with a cracking ferocity; where others may resolve with non-lethal. Xellal, kind at heart- Was not so kind when met with blind violence. And each and every was met with a serrated and sharpened point, firing with callousness through their torsos.

The blood pooled some afore he turned back and observed the distance that Alex had traveled. It took a moment before he shook his head; sparing a final glance at the pricked and blood-ridden foes.

He decided, to wander towards his unlikely ally. At the very least, for formal greetings. The body he wielded was already slowly recovering with a remarkable precision.

Traversing the mines was a lot simpler than Alex thought it'd be. The mage encountered no resistance whatsoever, which was strange due to him not finding much above ground either, aside from a couple of thieves, snipers, and the leader. Could it really have been only those? No, it couldn't be, but there was no explanation for no one being down in the mines except the civilians. Regardless, Alex went through the dark and dank mines looking for people, finding them as easy as it was to listen. Alex could hear the moaning and groaning of the workers, the crying of the children, and the sound of pickaxes.

    "Go on, you're free."

Alexander would continuously say to those that were able to walk on their own, and after that, he'd go deeper into the mines to find those that were virtually broken due to the amount of work they've been put through. So, Alex called back those that were as fit as possible, to help those weak get above ground. Last Alex went through to gather the children, which weren't at work at the time, and instead were in a sort of makeshift prison, with a door leading into a small cavern where they were stored. They looked starved, beaten, and it brought a tear to Alex's eyes when he saw their state. This only fueled him further, however, so he one by one brought all of the children up to safety with their parents. The people were safe, and Alex was able to finally bask in the amount of people he saved. However, there was one person he hadn't talked to much: the person who requested help.

Now walking up to the duo (Alex hadn't really paid much attention to Xellal to really notice him next to him) and handed them each 1000 jewels.

"You two are the saviors of our town, and we thank you more than anything else. You are always welcome here, and we'll always make sure to have open beds and hot food. Thank you, our town may return to its state of peace."
