Post by Arakai Swift 5th January 2013, 1:26 pm

Most matches within the arena appear in the crisp, bright sunlight where everyone can see themselves clearly. Well this was not the case. This time our young delinquents would be fighting two mages in an arena of pure darkness. It was the dawn of night; the stars weren't bright on this evening. The air was crisp and a solid breeze blew through the air. The sky was black with a dark purplish hue. This was the perfect setting for the mages of Leviathan. Little did their opponents know, the setting of such darkness gave them "home field" advantage if you will. Certainly, these enemies would be more careful if they did not attain the ability of Dark Magic, but it's their call.

Arakai stepped into the arena with a grin on his face. His hair blew with the breeze so vibrantly; the young man was ready for a good fight. He looked around the arena for his opponents. Soon enough, the fools would have to reveal themselves and fall right into the midst of their enemy. He chuckled quietly as the bitter though of their demise tickled him. Arakai then proceeded to clench his fist and look to the right of him. He was glancing at his partner, Naraku. She was nobody to mess with herself; containing an unimaginable prowess.

“Are you ready to have a little fun, Nara?” He asked Naraku with a tone of excitement.

Naraku was not overly fond of the darkness, despite it being where she was at her strongest, but it wasn't pitch black. It was light enough to cast plenty of shadows and the arena itself was slightly lit. Not enough to destroy the shadows, but enough to not make it dark enough for her nyctophobia to kick in. Yes, it was ideal for her and her partner. Her opponent's, unless they were highly skilled or dark mages, would definitely be at some disadvantage. If it wasn't for her phobia she'd of broken all of the lights right now in order to give her the complete advantage. In the dark she was not blind, no she could see fine, if in black and white.

"I'm ready Big Brother." she said with a dark smile. She was ready to tear some people apart, or at least cause them serious pain. She'd been told by D'Nalsta not to break her toys this time. It was quite annoying, but a rule she understood. The small creature on her shoulder whispered to her. "And Fluffy is ready too."

Soroki lead the way into the dimly light arena where only the outlines of their opponents could be seen, they'd need to get up much closer to be able to make out facial features and Soroki fully intended on getting up close and personal. Stepping through the gladiator-like gates to enter the arena a light breeze gently played with Soroki's dark brown hair. He wore his usual outfit for duty which consist of a kendo-style kimono specifically made for combat and mobility as it has gaps in its fabric under the arms and at the waist. On his feet he wore traditional tabi and over his kendo kimono was a surcoat. On his waist were two sword, he not only had one shard but two now and was moving up in rank within the Lightsworn.

Soroki's feet made a light crunching noise on the ground as he stepped over dried earth simply facing the same direction of his opponents with the most plain and straight face a man could offer. A moment later he glanced over his shoulder to witness his partner emerge from gate as well and as soon as Harada was within ear-shot of Soroki he spoke, "Don't be reckless Harada, if you wish to take the first offensive you can because I personally like to study my opponents but ill take action as well, I'd just like a game plan." Soroki said in a serious tone, he was a warrior and apart of that meant being a skillful tactician to be able to lead your men to victory.

Harada walked slowly into the poorly lit arena, feeling a cool brush of air pass over him. It was rather quiet except for the footsteps of himself and his partner, he kept a firm grasp on the handle of his sword and observed the landscape. Right away, he was aware of the potential dangers in this particular setting and adjusted himself so that he could face them properly. His breath was calm and steady, his defenses were up and he was ready to strike at any moment. However, just as Soroki said; this was no time to be reckless. Harada was used to putting his life on the line every single day since he had joined the order of Lightsworn, it had since become second nature to him. Harada nodded his head, "Not to worry, friend. I'd like to see what our opponents are capable of before we make our first move." He scanned the darkness once more, looking in all directions and assuring he had the lay of the land. The arena floor was rather smooth, which was fortunate; it meant that he wouldn't have to worry about the landscape as much and could focus more on his opponent.

The surrounding arena walls were about twenty five feet high, on the other side of those walls were a mass of chairs. This feature of the arena could prove useful. He took several more moments surveying the arena and took the time to memorize it, afterwards he drew his sword and readied himself. He looked forward and announced, "Come forth peacefully and this can all end for you. It will be easy. If not, we'll have to take you by force." Despite being used to fighting, Harada always hoped that his targets would surrender peacefully. It saved him from getting blood on his hands and allowed him to get on with his life faster. Regardless of their choice, he and Soroki were ready.

"Come forth peacefully and this can all end for you. It will be easy. If not, we'll have to take you by force."

The enemy had commanded across the arena. This forced eagerness within Arakai’s being. He clenched his fist incredibly roughly and he began to crack his knuckles. How could someone who didn’t even know him simply demand that he “come forth” and surrender himself? Was Arakai supposed to just throw his hands up and drop to his knees? The grin on his face began to continue; a huge smile was slapped onto the boy’s face. The wind began picking up and the crisp breeze was quite refreshing. As his clothes began fluttering with the wind, Arakai peered over to his partner, Naraku. Fear for this girl was non-existent, despite her ripe age of 12. Arakai was proud of his partner; she was like the little sister he never had. The young wizard stared back to the other side of the arena and proceeded to raise his arm towards the still invisible enemies.

“You don’t know who you’re messing with. Cowardice doesn’t exist here!” Shouted Arakai as fire began to burn in his eyes.

Arakai then lowered his fist and prepared himself. He took a deep breath to prepare himself for the adrenaline. He looked towards his sister and nodded as he began inhaling, his chest jetted out. The shadows around him were being consumed by his lungs; the lizard of the night was beginning his barrage. The more shadow went into his body, the strong he became. Suddenly, the procedure came to a stop. He was preparing to barrage the enemy. Shadows began to seep from his skin slowly, but after several seconds it burst into black, flame like shadows. Arakai was consumed by his power and milliseconds after, banished into the darkness unseen. The only thing that was present were his white pupils, for now. He then closed his eyes, going completely invisible. He then began using his ability to communicate with outside animal companions. “These opponents of ours seriously believe that they’re better than everyone, including you! Would you take that from someone? I sure wouldn’t.”

Suddenly, a pack of 6 wolves came rushing through the arena gates. These vicious animals looked hungry and they were certainly ready to feast on someone. They charged towards one of the enemy mages; slobber coming from their mouths with craving hungry. Arakai swiftly moved through the shadows, now able to see everything in the arena but being invisible to the enemy. He charged towards the other mage and whispered his attack

“Shadow Dragon Blades” He whispered. Suddenly, it appeared that out of nowhere, 10 black blades went flying towards the other enemy.

Post by Rosetta Crawford 6th January 2013, 4:09 pm

Naraku did something at that point that only she could do. She merely stepped into a shadow and became almost invisible. This was her shadow camoflague. A natural ability of Hell Demon's, and their slayers. She smiled briefly. This was something not even her partner could so so easily. Fluffy, her pet, had run off for now. He was hiding behind some benches. He would come when he was needed, but right now he was not needed. His partner had gone for a more direct approach using his lineage that allowed him to speak to beasts and his shadow blade attack. However, for now she would go for a more round about approach. One which would suit her fine. She simply threw a small needle at the shadows below her. This alone seemed to do nothing, but it was the first stage to one of her most useful abilities. The battlefield was ideal for this because all the shadows were connected.

"Hell demon's tendrils." she whispered. From near wherever her opponents were currently two monstrous tendrils of shadow energy 10ft long would emerge and try to grab them, one for each. Even if they failed to grab they would likely be able to slice because there edges were equal to weak rank weapons. The advantage of this technique was very very simple. It was almost impossible to see coming. She had not used the full extent of it yet simply because she did not want to risk her tendrils and furthermore she wasn't sure if she needed to use anymore.

If they were grabbed then she would make the other three rise and strike at them aiming, not to kill, but to hurt them as much as possible. If they didn't grab them then she would keep them in reserve for now. She still had them for a little while and planned to use them effectively.

Post by Soroki Namikaze 7th January 2013, 11:25 pm

(OOC: sorry for the wait I've been busy and not home so I'm posting on my phone right now so we can keep going.)

Soroki watched as the boy seemed enraged by Harada's words and begin to absorb the darkness around him seemingly powering him up a bit. He was then hidden in the darkness that surrounded him and all that Soroki could make out of it were where the boys eyes were, the arena lighting was very faint but it cast enough light for Soroki to be able to see the boys eyes. As the boy was doing all of this a strange noise could be heard which sounded like the sous of a pack of animals rubbings towards them, as soon as Soroki finished his thought he was not surprised when 6 wolves come from out of nowhere and charged at Harada, Soroki noticed this with a simple and quick glance. In that moment that he glanced he seems to have lost the position of the boy but quickly found his eyes again but now they seemed a bit closer than last time and were closing in. After realizing this Soroki instantly started to move backwards as fast as he could and placed a couple fingers on the hilt of his holy shard and golden energy formed around Soroki an formed translucent golden dragons wings on his back.

The second the wings formed they gave a powerful yet quick flap which rocketed Soroki at least 20 feet into the air with that single flap. He continued a bit higher as he looked down to see a massive tentacle which had came from very close to where Soroki had been standing. Reaching 80 feet into the air above the arena Soroki flipped his bodies position so that he was heading downward in a fast dive until he was at a constant float with light flaps of the wings 20 feet above the battle. Soroki scanned the area as quickly as he could to find the boys eyes using the last known spot as a reference point. Soroki made a mental note that despite being able to hide in the shadows he was not completely able to conceal himself or else he wouldnt be able to see. Soroki managed to find the gleam of his eyes that were given off because of the dim lights and raised his palm up and a ball of light roughly the size of a basketball formed and was fired off at the location he saw the boy.

Harada quickly understood what he had to do in order to deal with all the possible threats. However, just as he thought the only thing he had to deal with was the pack of wolves, his partner had formed wings of light in order to raise himself above the battleground. Because of this, the arena was slightly illuminated which revealed a new threat to Harada; it appeared to be a tendril composed of pure darkness. The tendril had already been formed and was heading towards him with stunning, but so was the pack of wolves. Just as the tendril would have caught him, he jumped to the side, moving the lead wolf directly in the path of the tendril. Before the wolf even realized what had happened, it had been savagely cut down and permanently taken out of the fight. Harada had successfully taken the number of threats from seven down to five, but it was still no time to celebrate as the rest of the wolves had become even more vicious after witnessing their alpha's death.

He decided to handle them one at a time and to do that, he would have to perform a sort of dance with the wolves, though he would have to make it quick so that he could join the fight and continue to aid his partner. Harada was slightly irritated that he had to deal with wolves; it was much too easy and it was extremely insulting to him. Though he figured this was an attempt to separate him from his partner and make it easier for them to win the battle, but this was a ploy that was going to fail. He singled one wolf out and examined the positions of the pack, he grasped the handle of his ice shard and just as his target leaped at him he swung his sword at the wolf's midsection, allowing him to pass clean through the pack without a single scratch.

Just as he finished using one wolf as a shield, the rest of the pack turned to attack again, he jumped forward and felt the wolves quite literally nipping at his heels. He faced the pack once more, choosing which one to kill and noticed the pack of four was now boxing him in. He examined the legs of each wolf, noting how close each one was to leaping. Just as the first wolf leaped towards him, he flipped around it and used it as a shield, forcing another wolf to kill one of its own by ripping its stomach out. Now, there was only three wolves left, but Harada could tell that they were getting increasingly furious by the second. His eyes met with the one in the middle, the wolf that had just tore the insides of his brother out with nothing but its teeth. This wolf was looking for redemption, just as anyone would be after being tricked into killing someone close to you.

His sword was at the ready, but he knew he would not need it for this next animal. Before the wolf could strike, Harada advanced and grabbed it by its neck, crushing its neck completely with one hand. The wolf's body fell limp in his hand, he dropped it on the ground and turned to the last two wolves. Harada began to feel extreme hatred for the person who sent the animals into the arena to face him. It was obvious that the wolves would stand no chance against him, all this accomplished was sending six wolves to their meaningless deaths. He glanced over to his partner, hoping that he was making these bastards pay. Just as he moved his eyes, the last two wolves decided to attack.

He had been foolish to drop his guard, even against an opponent such as an animal. He managed to dodge one wolf, but the other tackled him to the ground and went to bite his neck. Harada threw his left arm up, and blocked with his forearm, the wolf bit down and began trying to chew threw Harada's arm. Fortunately, the wolf had bitten into nothing but his arm bracer, which snapped in two just before he kicked the wolf off. He jumped up just as the wolf was going for another strike, he swung his sword and cleaved its head in two.

Harada was down to one last wolf and he was done wasting time, the last wolf was terrified now since its entire pack was dead. He felt bad for the poor animal, afraid and alone, it backed itself against the arena wall. It was growling and whining, not sure whether to attack or flee, it's ears were behind its head, its head was down and its entire body was shaking. "Damn it...", he said before performing one swift swing to the wolf's head. Hopefully, the wolf had died with no pain, he held no anger against the wolves for attacking, but wish they were wiser to retreat before any of them died. Regardless, he was done dealing with that and was prepared to get back into the fight. He got rid of the remainder of his arm bracer and began searching for his opponent. He saw the faint outline of the one who had created the tendrils, he pointed the sword and created a small white circle directly underneath their feet.

(OOC: Well, since it was never formally stated that my blades were dodged...)

Arakai chuckled as his blades went flying towards the enemy and stuck inside of him. The man probably did not notice as he activated his wings in order to fly into the sky. Little did the man know he was stabbed with all ten of Arakai's blades. Arakai had successfully hit him. Suddenly, as the man flew into the sky and headed towards Arakai with a basketball sized ball of light, Arakai hopped back in order to dodge this ball; he watched as the blades detonated, causing an enormous explosion on the side of the Arena they were on. The power of this explosion proved fatalities in many circumstances. Arakai dusted his hands off afterward.

"Alright sis, I'm all finished up. Let's get this over with quickly."
Arakai stated in a boring manner, disappointed with how the battle ended.

Naraku had rocketed into the air towards Soroki after quickly speaking the word's "Hell Demon's wings." to form demonic wings of dark energy upon her back, but as she took flight she saw the explosions hit and instead directed her attention solely to the man below. It was fortunate she had taken flight as it removed her from within his magic circle. This was more luck than anything else. Her attention had been solely on her opponents and so she hadn't even noticed the magic circle. Her attention was now solely on Harada because she doubted whatever was left of Soroki was worth fighting. A distraction was what she needed for what she planned to do. She raised a hand and then suddenly three tendrils lunged at the man, coming out of nowhere. Two of these were the same two from earlier, after missing they had sunk into the shadows and then lunged out suddenly now. However, they were not alone. The third one she used to strike from behind leaving his only route to go forward unless he would attempt to cut through the tendrils or dodge. However, her true attack was the remaining two tendrils. As soon as he made his move, whether to dodge or attack the tendrils she would strike with them as well. A five pronged attack. Yet she liked to gurantee damage, or at least increase the chances which was why she held her arm above her shoulder.

"Hell Demon's spear." she said and then threw a spear of dark energy at him. This was aimed towards the front and thus if he moved forward and somehow dodged her two extra tendrils then this would strike him. Yet she was not done there. She had aerial supremacy at the moment and quickly flew closer and raised her hand. "Hell Demon's Needle Storm." This caused a magic seal to from from which were launched fifty needles within the space of two seconds. Each of these was equal to half a weak rank weapon in terms of power. Not much, but she wasn't aiming to kill. No this was to spray the area and make sure to get a few hits in. "I wonder how long it will be before this one breaks."

(OOC: lolwut? I have no need to dodge something that wasn't going to hit me, might I ask you to read over my post again and notice the clear fact that I was 20 feet in the air above you and unless your spell homes in on it's target (which I know it doesn't, I read your spells.) then there's no way it could have hit me so we can go on like normal because im going to ignore that or you can go back and edit your posts. Whichever is fine with me since they'd both be accomplishing the same thing. ***Edit: If you sent your attack at me which you said you did with not angle of pursuit or anything your attack would sail right under me since I raised up in the air going about 13mph on the first flap, I did this as opposed to say dodging left, right, forward or backwards. Flying upwards cant really be called a "dodge"...so yeah.)

Soroki watched as Arakai's blades sailed aimlessly underneath him as he was high in the sky before they even got close. The detonated somewhere far below him as he looked down from 80 feet above and everything had seemed ant sized. After Soroki had fired the ball of light at Arakai when he swooped down to attack him Arakai moved backwards a bit in order to dodge this attack. All the while Soroki managed to catch a few glimpses of his partner Harada who had to take on just a few more oppoenets than he himself did but he had nothing but confidence in Harada since he too was a lightsworn and that is all that Soroki believed in. Harada had gone through each wolf in a dance of the blade as he cut down each and every wolf.

Not being bothered by that Soroki continued to face his opponent but this whole flying thing didn't seem to suit him he though at that moment especially for a night fight, it was sort of a random thought but his brain was going through several idea's at once and this was how he normally was in battle as he hardly ever talked unless spoken too first. Soroki noticed the boy was not really acting like he was in the fight now simple talking to his partner, Soroki's giant dragon like golden wings fluttered as lightly as the could to slowly lower him to the ground in front of the boy in a very calm and non-hostile manner. Soroki still hadn't drawn his sword yet or anything and as soon as he landed the golden wings seemed to turn into fairy dust then vanish. Soroki let his arms gently fall to his sides and broke that silence that he had so long kept, "It's not like me to speak to an opponent like this but it is a formality to know the name of those you are fighting and so far all iv'e heard is you and Harada barking back and forth at each other, truthfully its annoying. My name is Soroki Namikaze, and you are?" Soroki said as he gestured to the boy in front of him.

All the while Soroki and the boy seemed to be stopped for a moment the other two were metaphorically at each other's throats as Harada started to use his signature ice pillar to attack her and she responded with more tentacles, needles and spears.

(OOC: Usually it's formal to state that you dodge things, otherwise how the hell would I know that you dodge it? Snooping around at my magic too? Smooth. "Suddenly, it appeared that out of nowhere, 10 black blades went flying towards the other enemy," I didn't say if I launched them upwards, down, anywhere. How do you know Arakai didn't launch them into the sky? I put TOWARDS you. You need to state that you dodged, but since you did not, Soroki got hit. You can fairly say that he's not out of the fight yet, but no, your dodge shouldn't be valid)

(so your trying to tell me now that this is a lack of your own formalities? Since you didnt state when and exactly where you shot them aside from "at me" so in any case where you shot them at me id be ascending so it wouldn't matter at all, i'd still have been moving upward therefore they would miss. I guess that's case closed huh? Oh and your magic is very public I can read whatever I want, if you don't like it I suggest you ask for your magic to be hidden, I doubt that would happen however.)

I have Pmed the two combatants who are relevant to the argument, Arakai and Soroki, with how I understand the situation to be. Until they make some sort of response to me this battle is on hold. I will delete this post when the battle is resumed.
