Job Form:

Yuzuki leaned back against the damp alley wall, rereading the job request. It had been a while since she'd done a job, and the jewel from that one was nearly spent already. Honestly, she could just steal whatever she needed, but she preferred to do a few jobs here and there to keep herself from looking suspicious if anyone had an eye on her. After all, there weren't really many ways a mage could earn money besides taking job requests, so this was what she had ended up doing. True, she could probably get some normal job, and live like that, but she preferred the flexibility and freedom of being a hired mage, so she was free to do what she wished most of the time.

"Weddings, huh..." the semi-fey never really understood the fancy ceremony that the fey and humans had to declare love for each other. No animal had any such thing, they just kept things simple and practical, no fancy expensive stuff like these weddings. She didn't want to understand this stupid ceremony either, since it had to do with the two species she detested and feared the most.

With a very reluctant sigh, Yuzuki slid the paper into a small pouch on her belt, patted Katsuki to make sure the spear was secure, and stepped out in to the scorching light of a sunny day in Rose Garden. "Greeeat, I just adore the sun," she grumbled, shading her eyes and wiping the sweat off her face. She simply didn't understand why sunny days were so great. Too hot to jump through the lampposts as she usually did, Yuzuki began the long, hot trek over to the wedding location.

ot... that's all Azurius could think of as he walked around in his coat. It had been an hour he was walking about studying humans, and he'd finally gotten sick of wearing the stupid thing. He walked into a dark alley, spotting some kid on the far end looking at a piece of paper by the looks of it. He quickly tossed his coat aside, the black trench coat disappeared, returning back to heaven. Not wanting to walk around with two shotguns visible, Azurius donned a different coat made of black silk. It wasn't really his style, but it was lightweight and breathed, allowing the heat to pass easily. He saw her leaving the alley, questioning why some kid would be strolling about with no one, not even a couple friends to keep em company. That's when he figured that the kid musta been a wizard like him. Had he been closer, he could have sensed her magical presence if she had it, but since he couldn't Azurius simply figured one of two things. Either she was a really weak mage, or she wasn't one at all. The man walked quickly, leaving the alley and following her path.

He wondered what was on the slip of paper. Deciding stalking some kid, mage or not, would be a bit lack luster in his opinion, he quickly pulled out a silver key. "Get me caught up." he said in an extremely soft voice. Suddenly, he was teleported directly next to the girl and before she could react, he pulled the slip of paper from her person and opened it up. "So you are a wizard, figured as much! Ain't no other reason some kid would just be casually strollin' about in this damned heat." he said with a smile about his face. "Mind lettin' me come? Don't feel too good just havin' some kid take on a job alone." he added while looking at her, making sure to keep pace.

A few steps down the street, Yuzuki could tell that she was being followed. She could breathe in a consistent scentin the breeze, and hear the odd rythym of footsteps behind her. The semi-fey immediately tensed, laying one hand on Katsuki, ready to pull out the spear if anything arose. Her pace qquiced, and the girl's pulse raced. Could they have found her again, after all these years? How could it be? She'd hidden every step, she'd taken every possible precaution she could.

Suddenly, her senses whirled as her "stalker" suddenly materialized next to her, and pulled the slip of paper out of her belt compartment. In a flash, Katsuki was out, and Yuzuki had sprung as far away from the man as possible after sensing his magical power. It was then, that with a cautious sniff, that Yuzuki realized that this new person wasn't human. Relaxing only the slightest bit, she scowled as he commented on her being a mage and asked to go on the job with her.

"Absolutely not! First of all, I have absolutely no idea who the heck you are, and second, you'd only be a distraction! Third of all, I am NOT a stupid freakin' kid. I'm above thirteen years old and should be considered a TEEN," Yuzuki snapped back the reply fiercely, still backing away. In reality, the semi-fey was a whopping 32 years old, but she couldn't exactly say that now, could she? By now, she was formulating a plan of escape, being a huge coward who cared only for her own survival. Her eyes flitted over the buildings looking for a good place to fly to.

zurius, ignoring the kid's weapon entirely, began letting off a series of laughter as she tried seeming tough. Personally, he thought it was among the most adorable things he'd ever seen and couldn't hold in the laughter brought about from it. "Alright hun, I'll let you off with little lady." he said with a friendly tone. He pulled aside the ends of his silk coat, revealing two lever action shotguns that he grabbed by the stock and held them up with two fingers on each. "Go on and take your best shot darlin'..." he said with a smile before letting go of the guns. As soon as the barrels hit the floor, the two shotguns erupted into light particles and vanishing entirely. "... but I ain't fightin' ya." he said finishing his sentence, still giving a warm smile. "Name's Azurius Tade, you can call me Azure if ya like though a lot of ki- young adults end up calling me big brother for some odd reason. I doubt you would, ya got a pretty stern look about that rather beautiful face of yours." he said as he took a completely relaxed post. "Just make a note sweetheart, I'll keep askin' till you agree to let me come along." he said as face formed a friendly, non threatening smile that suggested sincerity in his words. He honestly didn't want to have to fight the kid, considering as he had to get remarkably close just to sense the power she had. It wasn't immense, but with time, he knew she'd make a fantastic mage. With his statement about not taking 'no' for an answer, Azurius had resolved himself to ensuring she lived to see that level of greatness even if he had to pin her to a wall and do the task for her.

However, the man’s attempt at giving a “big brother” kind of aura kind of backfired on him, as it had the opposite effect of what he’d probably been hoping for on Yuzuki. The semi-fey’s scowl deepened, and you could almost see her veins as she gripped her spear tightly. He hadn’t been at all fazed by her weapon, and Yuzuki knew that anyone who didn’t react to ready themselves in some way when a weapon was pointed at them was either crazy, dead, or they knew they would win in a fight. To her great displeasure, Yuzuki realized that the man standing before her seemed to be amused by her.

Then, he insisted on accompanying her on the job, and Yuzuki knew that she probably couldn’t stop him, the way he said. The semi-fey remembered someone…someone so very like this person, all nice at first glance, but radiated a dangerous presence. Her best course of action would be to escape, was what she told herself, and so she would run. Her magic was well-tailored for someone constantly running like herself, and in the blink of the eye, silvery threads of moonlight shot out from under her sleeve, enveloping Katsuki and herself. As the strands tightened, the semi-fey would simply vanish.

With a rough flap of her wings, Yuzuki burst up and away into the air, landing atop a telephone pole, before taking a roundabout route towards the job location. She would have to stay invisible for now, to avoid the man’s notice. If he did indeed find her somehow…well, Katsuki was there for a reason.

zurius let out an exasperated sigh upon her little disappearing act. He looked at the slip of paper in his hand and figured if she truly was going to do the job, she would show up there. Though he was more convinced she might have left entirely. Azurius held out his hands in a shrugging fashion and caused his two shotguns to re-materialize before stuffing them back in their holsters. He looked at the page again, scratching the back of his head trying to contemplate whether or not to even do this one... Azurius held out a golden key with the symbol of the constellation Aries on its end. "Aries, I'll need your help for this." he said calmly. A golden magic circle appeared with a woman stepping out, her blonde hair shone in the sunlight. "What's the job?" Aries asked, tilting her head to the side with an inquisitive look about her. Normally Azurius didn't call on his spirits for help unless it was something that he actually thought he couldn't handle. "According to this page there's a few thugs that can use magic. Was gonna help some kid take this on, but it looks like she split so we'll finish it for her and track her down later to give her the reward." he said calmly, and honestly. Azurius had no need for jewel, he could simply materialize gold at will, which most locations accepted happily since it was normally overkill for the cost of what he purchased. The street was empty, so Azurius was fine to just up and call Aries out like that. With the job listing in hand, Azurius began walking towards the job location.

Having completely ignored the request on the job to arrive in formal attire, Yuzuki went in invisibly, perching on a rafter in the beautiful church. Designs were intricately carved into the wood and stone, pictures that depicted the most beautiful scenes. Angels, people, animals accompanied her, soothing her slightly with their cold stony presence. The semi-fey watched in obvious boredom, yet apprehension as the wedding ceremony began. She half expected that man from before to suddenly tap her on the shoulder, and she suppressed a shudder at that thought. She lazily twirled one end of the spear in it's chain form, watching carefully with enhanced vision to look for the person she might have to fight.

Person after person filed into the spacious hall, causing Yuzuki's nose to twitch at the odor that she hated so much. Humans and fey, she hated both species. It was just her luck to be a cross between the two. Humans wanted to use her for experiments, lie to her and betray her, while most fey treated her with false pity, casting out the "poor little human" out of their homes, acting as if they were more than her, better than her. And perhaps both these species were in fact superior to herself, a selfish, cowardly mashup of two failed species. Yet, between her mischievous pranks and escaped confrontations, as she ran, the semi-fey would occasionally wish with all her heart that she actually fit into one of those species, where she wouldn't have to run forever.

Brushing off the nasty little thought as it crept into her head, Yuzuki renewed her attention on the people below, glaring with an intensity meant to keep her traitorous wishes in the very back of her mind. Never, never again would she try to fit in. Never again would she trust anyone. Stupid humans and haughty fey had ruined everything for her already.

zurius had walked through the streets at a leisurely pace. Judging by the time this thing was supposed to get started, he'd say he was already missing the beginning of it. Aries remained silent, not wanting to break Azurius's concentration as she knew he was thinking of something... By now, Yuzuki, whom Azurius didn't know anything about at all as of yet, would be able to sense Azurius's magical presence as well as Aries. While Azurius's presence should be familiar, Aries was a completely different mage of equal power to Azurius. While Azurius's magical presence was worthy of some note, it wasn't all that much stronger than Yuzuki's... if anything, it was only one... maybe two stages above but no more than two.

Meanwhile, inside the ceremony room there was a man wearing a black coat who had several women swooning around him. It was none other than Azurius's summon, Vince who had decided to take a stroll of his own and through some strange turn of events, got invited here. While he personally let off a bit of magical presence, it would be equal to and no greater than Yuziki's. As for why the women were all over him like flies on shit, he had a strange aura about him. This aura was called 'Swag' and made it so women, well... most of them, would be powerless against him. Men respected him so much they worshiped him for his way with the ladies, and even gods and demons bowed at HIS feet because he's that awesome. However, Vince looked unhappy having so many people giving him attention. It was because he personally hated his Swag ability, and wanted nothing more than to have a normal friend that didn't want him to take them on the floor. The wedding was still being set, people shuffling to find their places, and the groom was getting the finishing touches put on him by his best man. Vince sensed Azurius coming, and figured once he was close enough he'd blow this joint and join his bud in whatever he were doing today.

Yuzuki felt as if she were just about to fall asleep from lack of anything eventful, when a loud crash disturbed her attention. Her eyes widened, and her head shot up, scanning her surroundings nervously. Her senses finally focused on a large man standing far below, knocking aside wedding guests and blasting furniture apart with fire. The semi-fey grinned a little, her very fey sense of mischief springing to life. Still invisible, the lithe figure easily flipped down into the fray, landing lightly on the henchman's back. She danced on the confused mage below her, feet tapping a lively rhythm out, her footfalls growing heavier and heavier, until she reached a rather hard knocking pace.

With a yell of pain as Yuzuki trudged on an especially sensitive part of his back, the henchman blasted a flames at her, awkwardly pinning his own arm behind his back. Yuzuki laughed as she dodged the blast, swinging towards the ground, and began to invisibly pummel the poor man on all sides. As he tried to hit her, which he only did a few times, he would end up hitting all manner of uncomfortable areas on himself, resulting in a delighted Yuzuki and a self-scorched henchman laying on the ground. They fey laughed at the sight, at her own rather ill-intending prank, before she noticed someone she desperately wanted to avoid out of the corner of her eye. That man from before! Turning, Yuzuki began to run, only to crash into a man who had come into the hall behind his own henchman. The ex-boyfriend of the bride. And, just her luck! Her invisibility ran out right then, too! The semi-fey stood frozen for a second, slightly startled by the impact, before trying to run, but finding no good way out.

The flames were being split by his body, none would touch Yuzuki so long as he remained in that one spot. "I... I'm... So sorry." he said. "ARIES!" he shouted through the pain. Suddenly, a burst of energy would cause the flames to entirely stop... Aries had used her Sign of the End to shut off all magic. Any passive ability would remain active, but no magic at all could be activated. Not from pets, not from mages, not from their equipment... Azurius slowly stood up, his body slightly limp as he began getting over the pain. A pair of lever action shotguns were revealed as the clothes were torched from his back, with some bits completely melted to it. Steam was coming from Azurius, as well as a very prominent burnt flesh smell... but in spite of the pain, Azurius stood tall and reached a hand down to help her get up with a friendly smile on his face. The man tried firing another spell and realized it failed, he immediately backed off slightly and him and his partner got ready to fight hand to hand.

A second later, the semi-fey found herself staring up into the face of that man from before, him having appeared seemingly out of nowhere. Scrambling backwards, the semi-fey grabbed at Katsuki's chains frantically, ready to slash this weirdo across the face, until she noticed that he seemed to be blocking her from something. She flinched as heat suddenly poured over her from behind him, and flames were evidently licking at his back. "Are... are you... okay, Y-Yuzu-Chan?" he hissed, seemingly in great pain.

"Yuzu-chan?!?! Well I never!" she grumbled, her face even less trusting now. Probably one of those really desperate cultists or scientists who wanted her. That was the only way to explain how he could know her name, and was trying to protect her. "Well, let me tell you, old man, I'm not about to crawl into some test tube or onto some kinda voodoo whatever sacrificial table just because you wanted to get your hide scorched," she snarled, her silver eyes giving her a crazed look. When the flames stopped, Yuzuki ignored the outstretched hand, and as Katsuki shot into spear form, the semi-fey vaulted up into the air, and came back down, slashing with unexpected precision at the now magic-less henchmen. With the man so burnt, she could probably take out the brutes, grab the jewel, and go.

With sharp, fast, and precise jabs that showed obvious experience, Yuzuki showcased her fighting skills in a display of spinning chains, whirling blades, and quick, agile movements. There was a reason she had survived the way she had for so long, after all. Her sharp senses pinpointed perfect places to strike and calculated by muscle twitches where the brute would go next. One was easily defeated, so the semi-fey moved on to the next one.

ery few words could discribe the levels of hatred this kid felt towards Azurius for some reason. He questioned what she meant by 'crawl into some testube' but decided it's probably not something he should ask about. The spell of searing flesh would stop, vanishing mostly as Azurius had already began healing. For Azurius, taking superficial damage like that didn't mean a thing since he naturally healed at inhuman rates. Aries quickly shot forward as a blast of fire was going to hit her. She commando rolled into the church which now housed a multitude of people all huddling as far away from the battle as possible. It was revealed moments later that there was another twenty men at the ex-boyfriend's disposal who had joined the fight, and thankfully they were all now under Aries's spell. One of them made a punching motion, expecting something to happen along the lines of a blast of fire shooting out. "Oi... I ain't got no magic." he said observantly. Azurius stepped forward slowly, getting between them and Yuziki and her two enemies. "Nicely done captain obvious, you figure that out all on your own?" Azurius mocked the man. A crackling sound began emitting from his back as the burnt flesh began turning fully healed, not even forming a scar or burn mark. The pain at this point was completely gone, and Azurius was fine to fight some more. "Hey... y-you're making fun of me aren't you!?" the man shouted with an offended tone. "Shutup dumb ass, we gotta help the boss!" the next man shouted, trying to make a B-Line directly for Yuzuki. A buckshot made of holy energy to his stomach sent the man flying backwards. The source was a lever action shotgun that Azurius drew fast as a revolver. "My friend over there's got your boss taken care of, your asses belong to me." he said with a grim expression, showing very little concern. It was then that the man with women swooning over him, Vince, would step from the crowd and stand next to Azurius. "I don't think that kid wants to be your friend as of yet. I'll make sure she doesn't stab you in the back. Sup Aries, been a while. Sorry we only get to hang out when we're fighting." he said. Vince's voice was deep, but gentle sounding... the reason weak minded women and some men threw themselves at him. Vince turned to watch Yuzuki with his arms crossed, no visible expression on his face and his eyes blocked by pitch black shades. Aries held out her hand, a pair of massive revolvers appearing in them (S+W 500) as she took a fighting stance.

It was obvious from the expression on the semi-fey's face that she wasn't in any way shape or form happy. Yuzuki's eyes blazed in anger and fear, resenting yet horribly afraid of everyone in the room. Especially that man. In her life, Yuzuki had learned to just remember humans and fey as just faceless blobs of flesh. She forgot their faces the second she left, never caring to try and memorize any. Few people got the honor of staying stuck in Yuzuki's memory, and Azurius was the first in many years. Why was this other non-human butting into her life like this? It was stupid! However, if he had been sent to hunt her down...

Yuzuki had decided those "fairy hunters" had forgotten and given up on her long, long ago. They were the only humans that would possibly know her real name, since she usually gave out a fake name. Other than that, only the fey would know... If the fey wanted her, however, they wouldn't go in such a roundabout way of doing things. They'd snatch her up and leave, not hanging around long enough for anyone to see them. Who did this guy think he was, some type of saint?

As he blocked a shot Yuzuki had easily doodged in advance, the semi-fey started to get really annoyed. "Excaayyuse me, Mr. Goody-goody," she sang, bashing some poor attacker on the head with the spear, "why don't you go and fight your own battles, sheesh! I'm no baby needs to be watched over every second!" She quickly pulled Katsuki out of someone's gut, letting the blood flow off the magical steel. And then-- Oh, joy! Someone else with Mr. Goody-goody came!

Watching as women all around him swooned, and people began to gather near him, the semi-fey raised an eyebrow at the scene. What was with this guy? In the back of her mind, she suddenly felt a weird tugging sensation, an attraction to the man. Obviously, Yuzuki knew that this was unnatural, and not part of herself. She could never possibly be attracted to anyone at all after what had happened all those years ago. He quickly put himself in charge of protecting her from Azurius, shaded glasses bieding his eyes from her view.

Yuzuki sighed, and knew that she would have to fight again, against who, she had no idea. Still, it would be good to prepare herself. Silver. Threads shot out from under her sleeve, and enveloped the semi-fey. They vanished the second they touched her and Yuzuki, leaving them radiating a soft aura of moonlight. As soon as the comforting threads wrapped around her, Yuzuki knew that she had shaken off they newcomer's influence for good. She was naturally stubborn, but the madness fey magic induced on her? It filled her mind, shoving out Vince's swag influence with a myriad of moonlight. She would fight anyone and everyone she needed to escape. For now, however, she would wait to see what would happen.

zurius let out a sigh, the small woman's heart was burdened greatly. Her words held an inkling of pain behind it, perhaps her past... or perhaps he didn't take all the flames as he thought he did... or perhaps his mere presence was something that hurt her. Either of them caused Azurius to feel a small bit of pain for her as well, as the pain of others made Azurius feel for them regardless of who it was. A man who'd grown tired of standing around charged at Azurius, only to be shot square in the chest and be sent to the ground unconscious. It was Azurius's power that he could never once kill a person, only make them faint. He detested killing, he'd done so much of it before that he didn't want to do it anymore. A woman flew past Azurius, only to have Vince stretch out an arm and let her throat slam into it.

"You there, disciple." Azurius called to the man who was supposed to marry the happy couple off. "Y-yes?" he replied nervously. "Why is it that humans find it necessary to have such ceremonies?" he asked, keeping his guns pointed at the eighteen thugs. "T-to bind them... the ceremony is a holy-" "the holy one has set no such law." he interrupted with a rather emotionless tone. "And exactly who are you to judge the creator's will!? A vile heretic I'll bet!" he retorted, angered by Azurius's gal. Azurius lowered his shotguns with Aries switching out and pointing her sub machine guns at the group. A book materialized in his hand, a golden light shining from its pages. "Father Jerrard Cornelius Salvatoire. Age fourty, born in Midi to a home of one child and two parents. You grew up a stringent life being forced to work for money, only able to rest when your parents weren't looking. You entered a chapel at age sixteen and saw money inside the offering bins and decided you wanted to run such a building... Your entire life is revolved around gaining nothing but money, thriving off of the faith others place in the gods... yet I am a heretic..." Azurius said calmly. "You are no holy man, for there is corruption in you beyond that of any demon. These ceremonies are not the will of the god you serve, they are the will of man to feel higher than any other creation." Azurius said bluntly, turning to face the couple to be wed. "How... how did you know... all of that?" the man said, stepping from the crowd. Azurius used his one hand to slap the book shut, releasing golden dust from it as the pages converged. "I wield the holy archive, the collection of all knowledge in existence, and even knowledge that has been forgotten..." he stated and turned back to the crowd. "You lot, why is it you serve this one man. You all have greater potential, why is it you refuse to turn your talents to improve life for your species as opposed to being no better than this filth known as a preacher!?" he stated, causing all the men to slowly lower their weapons as well as the women. One stepped up, a look of confusion on him. "We were all abandoned... boss man took us in, he helped us get stronger. So we owe him for that." "No human. You owe nothing... many creations are taught to hunt, to kill, to survive only to abandon their families and live their own lives. There's no shame in you doing the same. You can do anything you want with your life, all you need is to turn around and leave this fight." there was a small silence between the eighteen people and Azurius. One of them, a woman, threw down her weapons and walked away. Then another, an another, before all of them but the one who spoke up had done it. "Can... can I ask you something?" he asked saddened. Azurius nodded, signaling Aries to lower her weapons. "Where can I go... I have nothing at all, not even a home if I leave." "Your doubts would get you killed if you stay. To the northeast is the port town of Hargeon, in it lays a building you'd never miss known as Lamia Scale. Go there and let those inside know you seek shelter. The guild is home to endless knowledge, and there are many jobs in town. You'll be allowed to stay rent free, stay as long as you like. Can you accept that, or would you risk staying?" Azurius said, the boy dropped his weapons and nodded. He turned around and left. Azurius turned to the boss of the group, not knowing if he was alive or dead, but merely looking to see which.

To her surprise, the man suddenly began to talk to the priest, getting into a small argument about...religion? She watched with interest and slight fear as a book materialized in front of him, and he flipped open to a page. He began to reveal all sorts of dark and dirty secrets about the poor priest, who looked on with horror as that dirty information was revealed. The semi-fey narrowed her eyes, so that was where he'd gotten her name! Still, what was his purpose? She had no idea, and honestly didn't care to find out. All she wanted to do as get away from the creep and live on her pathetic existence.

Then, the non-human turned to the rest of the crowd, asking them why they followed such a pathetic man. Then, to wide silver eyes, people began to drop their weapons and disperse, one of them speeding past her, jostling her in their haste to leave. Then, as the man told a remaining boy to go to the legal guild Lamia Scale for shelter, the traitorous thought sneaked into Yuzuki's mind. Wouldn't it be nice to have a home of sorts for once, to have shelter? However, Yuzuki quashed the thought as soon as it appeared, instead turning her attention to the still-standing opponent she had to defeat in order to complete this job. With a hard jab backwards with the butt of her spear, Yuzuki slammed the magicless ringleader onto the ground. Turning to the bride and groom, she asked, "This the boyfriend guy you were worried about? If it is, you better give some money to the weirdo over there since he took care of everyone else." The semi-fey angled her chin in the direction if Azurius, while still poking Katsuki into the guy's stomach.

small sense of delight came from the girl demanding reward from the groom. The the point where Azurius let out a small giggle before suppressing it. The man looked at the two, noting that Azurius had been the one to signal the woman to shut down magic, as well as the one to peacefully stop the larger amount and pulled a stack of paper money from his coat. He tossed the angel it, and Azurius nonchalantly caught it in his right hand. Azurius looked at it and grimaced. "I didn't take up the job, just wanted to make sure the kid lived through it." he said to the groom. "Here..." he said and tossed the stack to Yuzuki, whom he'd come to decide and call by a much more adorable name. "See ya 'round... Yuzu-chan." he said, turning his head just to give her a final smile. Azurius didn't want to pressure the kid into talking to him, especially after she mentioned that test tube. Azurius would more than likely end up acting as a guardian angel, hiding in the shadows, among the common folk, and high above her where he wouldn't be seen or sensed only to aid her in her time of need. Perhaps one day, the small woman would come to know him as a friend and accept that he had no reason to be her friend other than the sake of saying 'Yuzuki Faerydae is my friend.' and needing no further benefit. It was a far fetched wish of his, but hope was possibly Azurius's greatest weapon in this world. As for Vince, he decided to stay behind and help the others get settled in. At the request of the bride and groom, both of which were mesmerized by his swag, he also performed the wedding ceremony. What became of the preacher and Yuzuki was unknown as Vince wasn't caring to watch either....
