Kateri returned to the site she called home, the beacon of comraderie, happiness, and knowledge known as Lamia Scale Guild Hall. In light of recent events, she'd known that her task would be somewhat awkward at best, given that the man she'd looked up to was gone. The former guild master, a true Ice Wizard like no other saw some promise in her... But not, Kateri would face a different leader... She had no knowledge of what he was like, all she knew is that he was quite young.

Walking into the guild hall was strange for her, the walls were repaired and Kateri was able to enjoy the marvel that was LS Guild Hall. The old faces were gone, many of which left following Kihia's disappearance; some foresaw it and left beforehand. The ice mage gave an exasperated sigh, feeling somewhat empty... much like her home. She sat down at a table, pooling reports for her previous missions and meticulously checking them to make sure there were no errors, just in case the new master was uptight. Once finished, Kateri took the stack and placed it at the door of the Guild Master's quarters and then proceeded to the main hall. After a few hours of sleep, Kateri waited patiently in the main hall; neglecting to even eat. Her hopes was that her guild master would find her experiences sufficient to award her the right to begin her trial for the next rank.

Lexa spotted a man wearing a rather nifty suit making his way to her while perusing through several documents. 'That's him...' she thought, recognizing that those papers were marked for the old, old guild master with a light green stain in the corner. Kateri stood up, pulling her hood down and allowing her long hair to fall down to her ankles. The glacial-blue hair gave a slight shimmer as the light hit it, but as the light wasn't pure sunlight but rather a reflection of it, it remained the same color. She began walking forwards, stopping a few feet from the young mage while ignoring his age. Kateri didn't care for him being young, because the guy was still older than her by several years. She gave a polite bow, saying "Kateri, reporting in sir. May I ask if my field reports were adequate? If not, I'll have to complaints with redoing them, sir." with a humble, but strong voice. Moments later, a small black creature poked its head out from the neck hole for Kateri's black hooded cloak, making a growling sound at Xavier while bearing its translucent teeth, the largest were the 8 front teeth, then the 30 smaller second row teeth and then the 90 super small third row. All of them rattled as the creature let out a very high pitched growl, preparing to shred the boy if he so much as breathed the wrong way. Kateri reached over and grabbed Shadow's snout, causing the creature to jerk from astonishment. "Please excuse him, he's over-protective sometimes. His name's shadow." she said to her guild master. "Play nice." She said to shadow. The small, black, snake-like creature with dragon wings receded back into Kateri's cloak, not feeling like conversating with some guy he didn't like.

Kateri wasn't used to addressing others by their names, at least, not their first ones. Even Dmitry, the grey haired wizard that Kateri performed more missions with than anyone was addressed as 'Uncle Kazakov' more than anything. Umm... "I'm sorry guild master, but I cannot address others so informally. For my people, we offer two names. Outsider, or a formal name; with the former being the equivilant of a death threat." Kateri said informing Xavier of her tribe's customs. Her eyes adjusted to a more confident look at the mention of her starting her exam, accompanied by a smirk across her face. Kateri reached to her back, pulling out a very ornate looking assault rifle that had a magic scope on it. "Ready for action guild master!" she said with a grin, showing an extreme lack of fear even though she knew the task had an element of danger to it.

Kateri listened intently at the explanation, committing the words to memory as she heard them. She didn't bother changing expression as her shoulders were grabbed, and the shorter person positioned her else where. A panel on the floor appeared, a feature for the guild hall she didn't know existed and soon she was transported... somewhere... Kateri looked around, her glacial blue eyes darting about the darkness while her gun remained at port arms. "Yup. Dark as hell..." she said in a hushed tone, not speaking to anyone in particular. She took a step forward and felt something squishy make a sound as it compressed under her boot. "I don't even wanna know what I just stepped in..." she said with a slightly irritated voice, hoping to the mother that she didn't just step in monster crap, or worse. Kateri brought up her gun, firing a single bullet to take advantage of the muzzle flash. The quick burst of light remained in Kateri's eyes for a few seconds and allowed her to commit to memory the small area it lit up. From there, she began moving forwards, as back wards wasn't an option and there wasn't any indicators of an immediate turn. While walking, she made sure to keep her assault rifle up, just in case some raggle-fraggle monster decided to get huggy with her.

Kateri stopped in place upon hearing something click behind her. 'What now...' she thought, her eyes turning to an already annoyed expression at the sound. Kateri let off a single shot from her assault rifle, noting that the light cut off much closer than it should have. "Awe hell..." she said while backing up, knowing that the sound of something slamming was actually the tunnel collapsing towards her. Another round fire off, the sound of it ricocheting off the armour of the large beast before her. The muzzle flash only gave her a brief moment, but her highly trained eyes were used to that single second to take details in. It was huge, and armoured with large claws. She backed up a little faster as it came closer, meanwhile putting her AR back on the gun rack. She spun around while pulling out one of her revolvers and firing a shot, using the muzzle flash as a quick light to guide her. "FUCK!" she shouted as she shot off, sprinting as fast as possible, firing a second shot after a few moments so she can get the layout of the area. 'Shit, shit, shit, shit, shiiiit!!!' she thought as she continued her sprinting, hearing the sounds of walls slamming shut, and the claw monster trying to take nips at her with those behemoth pincers of its. "WHAT'S NEXT, GOD-DAMN CTHULHU!?!?" she shouted while dodging another snap of the large claws.

A shot of the revolver revealed a wooden beam holding up the sides of the tunnel, along with a single beam over head with a crack on the side. All this taken in, in a single instant let Kateri know what she needed to do. She holstered her revolver at her thigh and reached to her back, pulling out her sniper. It was a 14.5mm bolt-action, bullpup sniper; compact, and powerful. She waited until she was close before firing a single shot to gauge her distance to the target. "Ten meters..." she said under her breath, keeping her breathing pattern as level as possible to prevent hyperventilating. She worked the bolt, loading the next round into the chamber and continued running for another seven meters. She then fired at the cracked beam, hearing the sound of wood exploding as she made a quick leap forwards. The roof collapsed in as planned, if Kateri was lucky the crab would be buried under an immense amount of debris. She didn't wait around to see her success, but rather placed the sniper back on the gun rack and pulled out her assault rifle and continued jogging in the only direction available at the time.

Kateri nearly cringed as she heard the explosion of debris behind her, quickly moving aside as a falling rock was illuminated by her muzzle flash and revealed to be ready to clobber her. She began running even faster knowing her attacker would seen be at her tail, continuously firing a round every few steps to light her path. Kateri know the gunfire, combined with the unidirectional hall would guide the monster back to her, but if she could make it to the end then it wouldn't matter. It wasn't long before she heard rapid snapping behind her, the monster angrily trying to get a hit. The creature let a swipe out that knocked Kateri in the air as she fired her assault rifle again, revealing its face. She landed on the ground, hearing the creature get closer followed by the still closing walls of the tunnel. Kateri closed her eyes, focusing in on the sound of the creatures feet as she placed a hand on the ground. When she was sure it was close enough, Kateri performed her Ice Burial causing a set of spikes to rise up in front her. Even if none of the spikes were able to trap her target, they would create an indestructible wall between her and it. The only way the wall of ice pillars could be removed is either by it being melted, or an ice slayer consuming it. Kateri quickly rolled over and began running again, not knowing if the monster was trapped in the pillars, or trapped behind them; her only certainty was it wouldn't be able to follow her so easily now. She continued running, hoping that the walls of the tunnel would catch up the the creature and end it for good.
