Tsavek's Antispace Magic Empty Tsavek's Antispace Magic

Post by Tsavek 19th August 2015, 11:04 pm

    Magic

    Primary Magic: Antispace Magic
    Secondary Magic: N/A
    Caster or Holder: Caster
Description: Tsavek's Antispace magic is a unique, self-taught school of magic largely finding its roots in Void magic. It's a highly unusual magic, its basis being the ability to temporarily create spaces completely devoid of all matter. This reversed existence is superimposed above our preexisting reality, and the baseline will retain its form after the effect ends in all but the most extreme or simple of conditions. This form of magic is only barely tangible to the human eye, appearing only as distorted, shimmering shroud over whatever is affected.
Antispace magic can either be used directly on an enemy or ally, or applied over a predetermined surface like a floor or a specific room. This magic can be either active or latent, with the latent versions able to be utilized in traps or other strategic maneuvers. As long as the target is within his clear line of sight and is reasonably sized, Tsavek can form a veil over it. However, if he' using the spell on himself, he does not have to be looking at himself to do it. The larger an area that's affected, the stronger the line between the two realities is, and thus is less damaging.
    Strengths:

    • Subtlety - Being a nearly invisible magic to those who aren't actively seeking it, Antispace magic excels at being used stealthily. This opens a wide range of utilitarian properties, limited only by the ingenuity of the caster.
    • Ease of Access - Due to this magic's volatile, ever-changing nature, Tsavek is able to call upon his spells with blistering speed, only the most complicated of spells requiring significant time to channel. Because of this, Antispace is very efficient in one on one duels.
    • Dazing - Regardless of whether the spell is directly offensive or not, any enemies who come in contact with Antispace magic have trouble readjusting to this plane of reality once the effect ends, and often struggle with nausea and dizziness.

    Weaknesses:

    • Leakage - If Tsavek loses significant focus while one of his area spells are in effect, there's a chance that the spell can begin spreading out of control, potentially catching himself or allies in its range. (Max +30 feet in radius)
    • Hunger - Antispace magic is a ravenous energy, with mastery of control being the first priority when learning it. There is always the overarching possibility that if Tsavek is rendered unconscious or otherwise immobile while focusing a spell, it can break free of his command and become a relentless magical vacuum to those near it, with its first parasitic target being Tsav himself. ( aoe mp leech, 25% Tsav, 10% others)
    • Ethereal Strain - Calling upon the powers of Antispace has even more of a negative impact than other types of magic if Tsav overextends himself. If he tries to pull off a spell and fails too many times in close succession, Tsavek will become sickly and weak, his magic ability being roughly halved for five posts afterwards.
    • Backlash - If Tsavek's target somehow comes into direct physical contact with him while they are under the effects of a his spell, he will take reflective damage back from the spell, the energy multiplying to an even greater degree (1.5x damage)

    Lineage: Monkey King's Descent:
Description: The Monkey King, Sun Wukong, was a stone monkey given life. He learned supernatural abilities such as transformations and magic from taoist (Daoist in modern) practices. He was immeasurably strong and fast, able to lift his 17,991lb staff with ease and somersault 33,554 miles. He knew 72 different transformations, his fur had magical properties that could make a clone of himself or various weapons, animals, and other objects, he knew spells that can command wind, part water, and freeze humans, demons, and gods alike. Despite his given life, he rebelled against the gods, and was banished into imprisonment under a mountain by the Buddha. During his rebellion, he was injured and his blood was spilled. A human collected the fresh blood and preserved it. Many years later, in order to cure himself from a vicious disease, he drank the blood. Saving his life, he continued to live with super human strength and speed. Yet the true aspects of the blood remained dormant, and would awaken in future generations who carried his blood.
Ability: The user is able to transform into animals. The user also has drastically increased strength and speed.
The user is able to use One D rank wind spell of any type, and One C rank Ice spell for freezing enemies.
Usage: The strength and speed bonus are a passive that cannot be undone. The transformations last 3 posts, and have a cool-down of 4 posts, and can only be used three times per thread. While in animal form the user may still use magic.
    Unique Abilities:

    • Stare Into the Void - Tsavek possesses the natural, passive ability to create a blinding flash of negative energy whenever somebody makes direct eye contact with him. This sudden burst dazes the person, causing them to forget their current motivations at that given time, and remain in this half-conscious state for three posts. It takes a tremendous amount of magical energy to do this, and as such he may only perform the technique once per thread. (PVE - 3 post stun | PVP - 3 post daze affecting the ability of those his rank or lower. First post is 50%, second is 35%, final is 15%. The target feels very woozy and uncoordinated, and their body and thoughts are slowed.)
    • Fringewalker - Wherever Tsavek goes, a constant, deadlocked war is being waged between True Space and Antispace, and he is the eye of the storm. Without expending any energy on his part, Tsavek has an uncanny knack for blending into the woodwork wheresoever  he chooses, a thin, imperceptible barrier separating him from the rest of the world. Because of this, people generally do not take notice of him unless they willingly focus their intent on addressing him. (Functions only on those at or below his current rank)
    • Twin Souls - Due to his longstanding use of Antispace magic, Tsavek has become uniquely tethered to this plane of space. At any given time, there is the true version of him, as well as a shadowy counterpart dwelling within Antispace. If he focuses on this spacial tie, he may direct this otherworldly body almost anywhere he so chooses, and then switch the locations of his two selves. Because time in Antispace is null, this ability essentially functions as a teleportation spell. (Out of combat only)

    Spells:

    Name: Existence Blink
    Rank: D
    Type: Antispace - Offensive
    Duration:Instant
    Cooldown:One post
Description: Tsavek pulls the target instantaneously into and back out of an Antispace pocket. The sudden transfer of their body through the planes of space drains at the enemy's life force, sapping it out of their body and into the void. The victim will feel shaky and confused as soon as the spell takes effect. As long as the target in within clear visible range, Tsavek can place a veil over them, with as much ease as snapping or pointing his staff. (Range - 30 feet, D rank damage)
    Strengths:

    • This spell is excellent for wearing down at an opponent or throwing them off guard for a followup strike, and is therefore a very effective spell when used in conjunction with a teammate's attack.
    • As stated before, this spell can severely disorient its target, allowing Tsavek to keep his distance more easily against a close range attacker.
    • This spell tends to induce fear in its targets, making them believe Tsav commands far more power than he actually does. The spell can demoralize them, causing them to fumble and be unfocused. This illusion of power only affects those a maximum of one rank above his own.

    Weaknesses:

    • Cannot be used on anything nonliving.
    • Cannot be used on anything larger than 10~ feet tall or wide.
    • Has no effect if the target is magically shielded (C rank and above)
    • Target must be stationary or moving slowly.

    Name: Tractless Pool
    Rank: D
    Type: Antispace - Supportive
    Duration:Two posts
    Cooldown:Three posts
Description: Tsavek creates an area of ground nullified of matter, meaning whoever's currently in the space it takes up cannot move out of that space by any normal means. There is no substance for them to put their feet to, therefore they are rooted in place and unable to walk. This spell appears as a shimmery, warped coating on the ground, somewhat reminiscent of mother of pearl in color. It can cover a maximum area of fifteen feet, though it is not limited to flat ground. The veil covers any and all surfaces within the affected area. It is cast by creating a mental focal point on the ground, and then physically gesturing to it as in Existence Blink.
    Strengths:

    • This spell completely snares anything caught in it, regardless of their mass or strength. You can't run if there's nothing to run on.
    • This spell has the ability to lay dormant as an invisible trip mine, not triggering until someone makes contact with the rune in the center of the area of effect. This makes it function extremely well as a trap for sealed rooms or other places.
    • Those caught in the effect find it difficult to breathe, only skimming the barest amount of oxygen from outside the zone's range. After the effect ends, they will be very short of breath and weak.

    Weaknesses:

    • Focusing on keeping a trap rune active slowly drains Tsavek's magic, and the absolute longest he can keep it held is an hour.
    • Anyone outside the area of effect can either physically pull out the victim or use a teleportation spell.
    • Anyone caught in place can still use attacks and spells as normal.
    • The spell effectiveness is drastically reduced for anyone above C rank (100% D, 75% C, 25% B. Ineffectual to those A rank or higher.)

    Name: Phase Shell
    Rank: D
    Type: Antispace - Defensive
    Duration:Two posts
    Cooldown:Three posts
Description: Tsavek creates a magic dampening ward around either himself or a small dome area. Much like his other spells, it appears as a shining, reflective shroud, similar to a large soap bubble. The fully powered version of this spell is in its single ward form, and is only half as effective when spread over a larger area. (Full charge can negate two D rank or one C rank spell, dome form can only negate one D rank and half of a C rank spell. Maximum radius of ten feet.)
    Strengths:

    • This is an excellent spell to use when a spell that's known to be deadly is coming, able to negate it and buy time.
    • Especially when coupled with Space Shift, this spell is invaluable as a tool for escape.
    • This spell can be used to very effectively support a teammate as they channel a powerful spell, ensuring that they aren't left open to attack.

    Weaknesses:

    • If the barrier is fed a sufficient amount of magical energy, the void will seal, and the ward will cease to function.
    • If an overwhelming surplus of magic is fed into the ward, it will violently reject it back into True Space, triggering a magic disrupting explosion around the shielded wizards. (10% mp drain)
    • Tsavek cannot cast any other spells while channeling this shield.
    • If the ward is broken before its natural expiration, Tsavek will struggle to reestablish another barrier in the volatile space (+1 cooldown)

    Name: Space Shift
    Rank: D
    Type: Antispace - Movement
    Duration:Immediate
    Cooldown:Four posts
Description: Tsavek pulls himself into a rapidly moving pocket of Antispace, displacing his body to another location within thirty feet. During this transition, Tsavek is extremely difficult to see, and the movement occurs at breakneck speed. It is able to travel through weak spells, but movement will be halted if he is struck by a C rank or higher spell. After the travel is complete, Tsavek is slightly unfocused and weakened (-20% speed and strength for two turns)
    Strengths:

    • Tsavek can easily drift through solid objects with this spell, organic or otherwise.
    • This spell is silent, and Tsavek can position himself behind an enemy wizard for a sneak attack.
    • The spell does not require time to channel, and is nearly immediate in its speed.

    Weaknesses:

    • As soon as travel ends, Tsavek feels the effects of the Antispace transition, becoming weakened and slowed.
    • Regardless of how complete the transit is, if the spell is disrupted Tsavek still suffers the penalty to his speed and strength.
    • This spell can only move him a maximum of thirty feet.
    • Tsavek can only shift if he's currently fully grounded.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Lineage Bonus Spells
    Name: Updraft
    Rank: D
    Type: Wind - Supportive
    Duration: Three posts
    Cooldown: Four posts
Description: Tsavek spawns writhing, incorporeal wings of howling wind, able to deftly fly around the battlefield. These wings appear as a violently whirling strip of concentrated air, connected to his back with a set of six claw like fixtures. The wings are capable of causing minor surface damage if they come in contact with bare skin or thin armor.
    Strengths:

    • Along with the wings, an air cushion is created around Tsavek's feet, so any falling damage he takes if the wings fail is minimal.
    • The wings can be used to attack an enemy directly, inflicting moderate damage depending on how hard they are struck. (D rank damage, half D rank against C rank armor.)
    • The volatile nature of the wings creates a small tempest in the area surrounding the cater, blowing people on the ground slightly off balance.

    Weaknesses:

    • Tsavek can only use this spell outdoors, harnessing the natural wind already in in the air.
    • The wings can be influenced or redirected by other wind spells.
    • Tsavek can only fly a maximum height of about fifty feet before the strong jetstreams negate the spell.
    • Likewise, concentrated fire or ice magic on the wings can cause him to rise or fall accordingly.

    Name: Glacial Tomb
Rank: C (locked until rank up)
    Type: Ice - Offensive
    Duration: Three posts
    Cooldown: Five posts
Description: Tsavek encases the target enemy or object in a thick, diamond hard barrier of sparkling white ice. This ice block fully encloses the target as well as a few feet of ground around the target. Additionally, the ice is formed in a way that melee strikes against it will cause a high pitched ringing reminiscent of a tuning fork, disorienting anyone within earshot as well as inducing severe headaches. (A rank or higher mages are only frozen for one post)
    Strengths:

    • The ice block is incredibly resistant to physical attacks, with only the strongest of warriors or largest of beasts able to shatter it by hand.
    • If the glacier is attacked physically with a weapon, it will loudly resonate with a high pitched tone, disorienting those who hear it and causing pain.
    • When the victim is released from the tomb, they suffer from hypothermia, and have a difficult time focusing and readjusting before they can effectively use spells again. (Five foot radius)

    Weaknesses:

    • Obviously, the ice shell is weak against fire. A D rank flame spell will have some issue getting through it, but it's not at all unreasonable with some effort.
    • With some difficulty, the trapped victim may still use spells (within reason, no elaborate hand movements or the like)
    • In particularly hot environments, the tomb is much more difficult to conjure and maintain (+1 cooldown, -1 duration.)
    • The target cannot be damaged while locked in ice.
