    Job Info:

It had been a very long time since Seria had taken a stroll out in the countryside. Or at the very least she could only think that was true. Her memory had a lot of gaps in it, and often times when she tried to find something in her mind it just wasn’t there, she often questioned whether or not she would even to know to look for most the missing things, for how could one know to think of what they don’t remember? She imagined that she was just prodding a stick into one of many perforated holes in this swiss. “It’s okay,” she reminded herself treading along this cobblestone path along the rolling hilly landscape. “No memories, right/ It’s fine, it is quite alright/ Just know the light.” She glanced up at the sun, pronounced and bright burning in the sky, as she noticed the massive beanstalk in front of her that nearly blocked it out of her sight. She must’ve been very close, it looked much smaller a matter of minutes ago. At the apex of a hill she looked down upon the village. She had thought that anyone here ought to be hard at work, but tools were abandoned in the middle of the fields, and although most of the vegetation was well taken care of they might not have been minded in the past few days.

Seria's Grace Empty Re: Seria's Grace

Post by Seria 9th June 2015, 11:23 am

The rocky path seemed to fade or rather devolve into the, dirt and trodden one worn down by the constant use of the farmers in their absence. Their houses stood study and proud and a number seemed to have activity, so at the very least they weren’t gone, just inactive. A man walked down the path perpendicular to Seria, and seemed to be looking upon her intently. She approached him, it seemed the only appropriate thing to do thus far, and he obviously had words to share with her. She had a warm smile on her face expecting him to be kind and greet her but he started off their conversation yelling.

“Just who the hell are you!?” He was rather tall and lean, with overall and no shirt to be seen. “You don’t belong in our village, I think I’d remember a freak like you!” Seria shrunk down as he seemed to lean in closer with each threat. She only retrieved the paper from her back pocket about the job, crumpled as it were, at a loss for words. The man looked back and forth between her, the paper, and her mechanical arm. “You don’t really have the look of a mage kid, why don’t you run along before you get yourself hurt, eh?" Having enough of his belittlement, she ripped the paper out of his hands stomping away.

Post by Seria 9th June 2015, 11:37 am

She may have come here to help people but that man really reminded her why she hated people. She had a determination now, to show that lout that she could be a mage and maybe a little bit more. But one step at a time now. She unfurled the paper once more to look at it again. It mentioned something about demonic plants running rampant through the crops and making it impossible for the farmers to work out in the fields. That’s odd. From the moment she arrived her everything seemed to be fine with the crops in the field, it just didn’t make any sense. In the distance she could see the corn they had planted, as the stalks waved in the gentle breeze. She went to them to inspect what was so demonic about them. A wizard must be intuitive, right? She poked and prodded a few and as she expected nothing happened. As she was about to conclude her findings, a number of them fell to the ground abruptly, although she hadn’t disturbed them. Suddenly with an odd magical aura appearing the corn grew in size monumentally. Where they previously were small enough to be handled, they were almost twice Seria’s size. Fifteen of them rose to face her, literally as the kernels morphed to form faces.

Dazed by the sudden ambush of corn demons, one of them barreled into her, sending her flying back and crashing into a giant pumpkin which splattered all over her in an orange mess. Luckily this one wasn’t alive too. She pulled herself together doing the best she could to get pumpkin remains off of her dress but it was definitely stained. The corn heads seemed to laugh at her making odd guttural noises and heaving their own weight. Easy pickings. She pointed her right arm at the crowd of demons, as the metal shifted forms, bending and re-melding into new forms. Her arm was now a cannon, and was ready to take back her dignity.

Seria belted out a shot at the corn heading the group of them, pounding it in the face as a spray of corn filled the air, followed by the fiery explosion of the shot, catching a few of his friends on fire. He went down, but he’d probably be back up momentarily. The force of the shot itself threw Seria off balance as it was and she tumbled backwards landing on one knee and covered in dirt. She knew now not to wear any clothes you care about to a serious mission.

As one corn fell and two others caught fire, their comrades seemed to get the message that this wasn’t going to be as easy as they anticipated. A few of them gave some sort of war cry before they charged headlong towards Seria with some sort of battle spirit. Seria thought up a way to take them on evasively as her cannon arm magically formed another shot and loaded once more. She sprinted towards them as well, and she would have to time this right to get it to work effectively. As they got with a few yards of each other, Seria jumped at them which must have confused them because some came to a sudden halt. She fired at the soil beneath them, setting more ablaze and using the recoil to launch herself a few feet. She rushed to gain another shot as she could feel gravity starting to bring her back down already. The cannon clicked with another shot loaded, and she didn’t waste time shooting a third cannonball into them. They were a mess right about now. She had them right where she wanted them and they couldn’t even touch her. Corn dappled the field and many of them were signed from her shots, two of them had actually completely fallen.

Post by Seria 20th June 2015, 9:54 pm

Seria’s plan seemed to be sure fire from the get go and she had mad ean impact in their numbers, but the shear about of damage she had done to them didn’t even seem to be enough. Not only that, the position she put herself in was doomed to end with pain and failure as she landed directly in front of those still standing. A few of them simply burned to nothingness after succumbing to the flames. They took no time in surrounding her, the eleven of them that remained. He gun arm clicked once more, the final shot loaded and she belted it out not wasting time. The shot exploded in the face of one immediately bringing him down and setting the two nest to it ablaze. She tried to be threatening, but the moment that last shot was fired the gun on her arm re-shaped into her hand leaving her essentially defenseless. They leered over her, their eyes seemed to become red with fury as they conferred silently how to dispatch of her. Frightened, Seria was frozen in the middle of them, and didn’t see one of them approaching is it seemed to gain motor control of its face and a mouth as it got it’s jaw around her legs. She ripped up the ground around her, desperate to resist the pull but the grass couldn’t support her weight.

The soil tore in her hands as this corn being reeled back and he looked on in horror as the other corns watched in amusement as one of her greatest fears was becoming a reality. She never quite imagined she would be eaten alive. She pushed away with her hands, but was being pulled down by some fluid inside of this creature. It seemed to be similar to saliva but much thicker, and weighed her legs down as she kicked for freedom. She knew deep down there was only one way she was getting out of this mess, but she couldn’t focus at the given moment to do what was needed. “Try anyway! Something, think of something!” She fought to stay above this thing’s lips but was losing. “T-This mission w-was my first…” she struggled to say as then her left hand slipped and compromised her safety, slipping down it throat her shoulders barely visible “…and although it’s endearing-“ The corn finally swallowed her whole with a wet, sickening sound. The corn snicker in its success, and it’s compatriots where empowered with courage. Suddenly however, it began to glow a purplish white grow in luminosity and in a matter of seconds it violently exploded spewing plant fibers everywhere with corn and kernels, and from once it was a child on her knees getting to her feet in shining bronze knight’s armor. “It won’t be my last!”

The slime like substance from that corn only served as an armor polish as far as the effects are concerned, the metal of her armor glistened in the sunlight mockingly as she stood there having conquer one of their friends and seemingly having returned from a death sentence the likes of which no one else has probably experienced. The cornheads rallied once more, making their guttural battle cries again, assumedly saying “for our fallen brother” Sprinting for her, probably their biggest mistake yet gave her the upper hand. In this armor, that mechanically fitted together about Seria’s body was a little more than just armor, it served as a symbol of empowerment as well as actual empowerment. The joints were servo loaded and powered, giving her an extra boost in physical strength. While she stood her ground she was a force to be reckoned with. Within several well played counter attacks and fairly placed punches, Seria toppled their forces single-handedly. She couldn’t help but marvel at herself just a little. Still a little kid? She asked mocking the man from earlier in her mind. It was a decent bout of fist fighting, but in the end Seria had only three corn head jerks to clean up and she was looking forward to it. Their teamwork was somewhat frazzled now, and she would use that to her advantage.

Post by Seria 21st June 2015, 1:17 pm

Even in this thick armor Seria’s speed was enough to close the small distance between them, and she met the first corn head with a very solid punch from her right hand where it staggered a few feet back, but she kept toe to toe with it metaphorically. She continued the fight with a left jab, following with a right hook and then a full left punch prioritizing her right side for defense; the proper 1-2-3 boxing maneuver although the defense wasn’t necessary because they seemed to be in full retreat at the moment. Her combatant fell the ground, whether it was feigning defeat or just too bruised to stand it didn’t really make a difference as she moved straight ahead to the next able contender.

She could see the fear in their eyes and she felt much better about herself, being able to handle this alone after all the ridicule she faced earlier. She hoped that man was watching her go to work. She switched martial art styles as she advanced, and when she caught up she delivered three kicks to the man in rapid succession, to the bottom middle and face of this thing, followed by an open palm strike to its mid-section and a sweeping kick. The last corn and her met gazes and recognized this was the final engagement.

Seria's Grace Empty Re: Seria's Grace

Post by Seria 21st June 2015, 1:51 pm

Seria stood valiantly in front of the thing eying it down with ferocity, the power to strike it down was within her grasp. She was about to take her first stride in stride to it when suddenly her brilliant armor glowed with a powerful light, and dissolved into thin air. Her overwhelming advantage was gone, swept away by the wind, and with that, the cruel and vicious smile returned to the corn’s grotesque face. As it charged her down to not waste the change in events. Both of them were desperate to end this fight, and willing to do what it took to stop it. Seria reached out her arm to it, as it glowed a similar white color, a pure white smoke emanating from her fingers as she aimed her palm at the corn drawing ever nearer to her. A bolt of pure light shot from her hand, and hit the stalk of this beast, and within the same moment brought it to the ground as it made odd grunts of pain. It’s momentum carried it across the mud, sliding toward her with great speed. She didn’t have time to move but she knew what to do. With her mechanical arm, she plunged her hand deep into head of the corn as it piled into her. Covered in even more grime now and slightly beneath the carcass of this thing, she had conquered them and managed to get dirtier.

Seria's Grace Empty Re: Seria's Grace

Post by Seria 21st June 2015, 6:08 pm

Seria pulled herself out of this hole she found herself in, and pulled her arm out of this corn the best she could, finding it coated in a thick disgusting syrup thick fluid that she flung to the ground. She sat down for a moment, and reconciled what had just happened. Fifteen, fifteen of the corn heads she had taken down. She put a hand to her head, just glad to know it was finally over. She fought hard, hit some tough spots and was certain she wet herself with fear at one point, but it was over. At least that’s what she had the pleasure a feeling for a few moments just before more plant life animated and encroached upon her. “Cute…” She commented, perturbed with their persistence. Almost a dozen tomatoes rose from the crop fields along with another group of corn just lazing about zombie like. They were all looking to have a piece of Seria, and at this point she couldn’t care less about their existence. The tomatoes were about the size of a tire each, but not quite as tall. “Stalwart Heaven-Guard Disc, make yourself known.” Seemingly through a void in space and time, what she called upon formed in her hands. It consists of two flat, parallel discs, one that rotates within another of a wider circumference.

Post by Seria 21st June 2015, 6:24 pm

Seria carefully circled the reds, as she got her new toy up to full speed, it floating in the air above her moving, directed by the motion of her fingers, a silent orchestra she lead. As it dance about she continued to strafe them, and they slowly became grouped rather close together before she gave the dis its first command. It rose up into the air as if intercepting the sunlight, and shot a bolt of light that arced through the air in the direction of these tomatoes, and when it touched down it exploded with a rather small radius, but enough to encompass all of these jerks rather easily. The wave of power that expanded from the epicenter literally ripped the juicy vegetable apart, pieces of skin and tomato juice splattered all over Seria as she didn’t keep a good distance, but she wasn’t in the least bit moved by this carnage. The disc returned to her, still quite able in ability and she intended to use that. With a single thought, she sent the disc barreling into the corn, and it bounced from one to the next with great force knocking them around and returning to Seria. Suddenly this fight had become too easy.

Post by Seria 21st June 2015, 7:31 pm

The corn had had enough of these beatings, and were quickly much smarter than their predecessors, surrounding Seria instead of coming at her in a group, circling her in sort of a pentagon sicne there were only five this time around. Seria did her best to keep her eyes on most of them at once but, that was physically impossible in its own right. Then something she wasn’t at all expecting happened, the corns took in a breath all simultaneously and exhaled a torrent of corn all directed at the poor girl. She was quick however, drawing her weapon to her, which cast a shield around her that protected her from most of the blast for a short while during which she was beaten by the corn flying from the mouth of the fifth corn head. She took quite a beating, she couldn’t move from her spot either because of the shield, taking quite a beating, and not only that, he shield was overwhelmed. It shattered into nothingness, because it was under twice the amount of strain it could hold. Once it was gone she received the aft end of the corn’s destructive force. She fell to the dirt, sore and disoriented.

Post by Seria 21st June 2015, 7:43 pm

Seria had never fallen quite as hard as he had just now, she was fighting herself just to keep going after suffering that hefty blow, but she knew she had to keep moving and her eyes open. But when she finally got a look up at them, they were definitely closing in on her, and almost salivating from the look of it. This ironic plants eating humans thing was really getting old and she had quite enough of it. She glared at them, the gaze of her red eyes pierced their souls in a way, and they halted in their advance. She had that adrenaline rush one gets when they are terrified, the strength they get in the situation that they feel could be the end of their days that gives them the power to run and fight. She oitned out orders for her weapon once again, as it had already exhausted its current capabilities but could still batter them to bits. Her arm once again had magic channeled through it and took the form of a cannon, and with two swift shots, explosions in two she took down three of the already bruised corn heads. Using her cannon arm to prop herself up as she stood the disc made its final rounds slicing through the two behind her. She could finally breathe…

Post by Seria 21st June 2015, 8:52 pm

OOC// Rolled 5 monster dice, and no boss was rolled by the 10th post, and all prior enemies defeated. Boss is being auto-spawned for the sake of story

“So… you’re the disturbance then? I’m amazed honestly. To think such a puny girl could hold off that many demons alone is a special feat, bravo you one… Oh, perhaps you are rather special, look at that extremity of yours, that metal is ancient and yet well maintained… you’re a fine catch.” A man descended from above as clouds had parted in the sky, as he seemed to ride a cloud of darkness. He wore robes of purple and black, and had very distinguished raven hair. His right eye was crossed by a scar and was missing its pupil, with just a creamy white emptiness in the void. Seria had gotten to her feet and turned around to meet him as he approached with seemingly no ill intent but a cruel smile on his face. “It’s quite a shame I’ll have to kill you, you’re so adorable. Maybe I’ll let a demon inhabit your soulless body once I’m done with you.” He said dismissively. Seria was kind of fed up with this man’s attitude. Screwing with people’s food, not only the villages but the towns too that relied on them. It wasn’t right and he really had nothing to gain. He was a sadist, the very kind of people she stood against. She leveled her cannon arm at him, and he snapped his fingers in response. She found herself falling to her knees once again.

Seria's Grace Empty Re: Seria's Grace

Standing proved to be a difficult task but for a reason she didn’t at first imagine her left leg was numb, and unresponsive. And her attempts to get higher up and face him proved futile. “Come on kid, you’re a real downer ya know? Stop fighting back, and submit you can’t possibly do anything in your position. Smell the mud, and vile rot in the air, the stench of your demise.” He still approaches her slowly as if trying to scare her even more. Not to say that it didn’t work, but she was certainly getting annoying with all of these fear tactics. Why didn’t anyone have the gall to just come right out and attack her? They always had to use numbers, trivial nonsense, the threat of power abuse and so on and so forth but what the hell kind of difference does it make? And more importantly why? He should know first hand that hasn’t worked on her all day long, and here he came trotting up like self-proclaimed winner. What a prick, a douche even. Seria was not the quitting type, especially not now. She fought to free her leg from this curse and stand once more, and heard the resounding snap once again as she got a face full of the mud.

Both of her legs were out of commission, but that didn’t stop her for a moment. She pushed herself off of the ground defiantly and, this other mage seemed tempted to let her fail on her own devices. For a while, it appeared as though she would fail, her arms shaking as she fought her torpor and this man’s words.

    “I can’t give up…
People out there are in danger,
They may not have any hope.
But I, will be the one they lean on!”

Her back began to glow, as light stretched from it in two different directions growing into a large mass.

“And through me they will learn to cope.
Even when all hope is gone!”

And once the light had taken hold of the area starting to blind the scene with its intensity it folded into its true shape, and Seria had her wings, one angelic and the other of metal. The mage saw this and was ready to lay another curse, but was swept across the face as the disc sung through the air cracking against his skull. In his brief moment of shock, Seria’s wings flapped and brought her above the ground, as she fired into his chest. He staggered and fell prey to the second blast as well.

Seria's Grace Empty Re: Seria's Grace

Post by Seria 22nd June 2015, 1:35 am

Hovering with the true effort of her wings, Seria kept well above the ground, and her crippled legs were no longer a limitation. She soared with great speed at this insane man who was ready to respond, snapping his fingers to once more lay a curse on her intending to clip her wings. But he noticed that however, she kept coming at just the same speed. Perhaps that amount of confusion was just enough, because he fell victim to each and every one of her attacks as her flying trickery combined with her fists and the free flowing destruction of the Heaven-Guard disc were too much for the poor dark mage to handle. The girl and the disc weaved about the man in fury, a tornado of strikes counters and evades. The fight lasted only a few minutes longer, just as she was able to bring him down to size from his own shear exhaustion. Afterwards she passed out, worn out from all of the conflict the night had in store for her in one day. It was too much for a single person to handle. She wondered how those above her managed such a feat. No matter. The deed is done, and now to show her worth.

Seria's Grace Empty Re: Seria's Grace

After Seria had found a rather convoluted way to bind this man and prevent him from leaving in his unconscious state, she dragged him back to the center of town, and tied him up at the town’s well, waiting for people to stop by and ask about what had transpired. She was an easy attention grabber, a dirty girl with a metal arm watching over the unconscious and likely beaten body of a man almost twice her size. People congratulated her in her success but they really weren’t sure they should be condoning this kind of violence at all, many sheltered their children’s eyes from the seen whom obviously responded with even more intrigue. What she really wanted however, was to get to show off to the man who had put her down today, and to get paid. It would be grand if those two things came from the same encounter. Not only show the jerk up but getting him to deposit the money into her hands after the things had said would be simply poetic justice. The man started to come to when people were nosing about once and she had to clock him in the head, hitting him on a bruise she’d given earlier to make sure he was out cold.

Seria's Grace Empty Re: Seria's Grace

It was a long and endearing wait, but after about three hours, he had finally returned. Not directly to Seria mind you, but he was about and she had actually missed him a few times because she passed out while waiting oddly hugging the man she had beaten in her sleep. However when the circumstances were finally correct she spare no time getting his attention. She waved him down to the village square where she was waiting at the well this entire time.

He looked her up and down a few times, then glanced at the man bound up at the well, put a hand on his own chin and eyed the perpetrator up and down several times as well. “Look kid… What you’ve done… I’m sure everyone here appreciates what you did and all but the thing is…” Seria eyed him coyly. She didn’t entirely care what she had to say but she was enjoying watching him stumble over his words. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have been so rash with you earlier. I heard about how and what you did from the others, a number of them watched you fight and thought you might’ve been a goner. But you being here is-“ Seria extended her hand with expectation. She had heard quite enough.
