[A Wizard's Grace]

Atsui was very short with money, so he decided to look at the board to see if he could get a job from the guild or from people around the town.
Then his eyes fell on a request made by the beanstalk village chief. After reading Atsui grabber the job request and headed for the armory shop, since he had no weapon or armor he thought that maybe, these things would have helped him with the missions.

Description wise , it looked like he would have to deal with some "problems".

He decided that for that job , it would be better to bring along some farm tool, and a short sword, just in case.

This was his first job and he wanted to perform as its best. For himself, and for the guild pride.
Even if he still had to meet a certain person in the Fairy tail guild, he knew that he would spend there a load of time, so, why not leaving a good impression before leaving?

As he left the guild then sun was so strong he had to nearly close the eyes to get used to it, raising a hand to cover the sun rays he saw that the city outside was as peaceful as ever, and started to walk down the shop street.

Walking down the street Atsui had a strange feeling that he never felt before, i was starting to be part of something, as his life untill know was filled with solitude, and a bunch of random people met on his long trip to find fairy tail.
It was a bit strange and comfortable at the same time. That thought lasted a couple of seconds, and he had already arrived to the weapon shop.

After grabbing a couple of tool for farm and a totally weak looking short sword, he left in the direction of beanstalk village, without realizing something was following him.

The sun was pretty warm, but a gentle breeze was nicely caressing Atsui face, giving him a pleasuring feeling, Magnolia city was noise as always, with people working and child playing left and right. That peace was in part thanks to the fairy tail guild who always protected the city with no flaw. And now, even Atsui was part of that guild, and started to feel something like a burden related to that responsability.

I was thinking this long trip to fairy tail would end up being a useless waste of time but.. maybe it's not like that?

Atsui was scratching his head a little when suddenly something attacked him from behind.
He felt something hitting his right leg, and turned himself fast, just to realize he couldn't see anyone at the eight of his sight.
Then he got hit at his left leg and instinctively looked down. What he saw was somewhat strange.. A little ouberjin with legs and a stick in her hand was swinging that kind of weapon at him.

Atsui kicked that thing around a bit, then he realized that strange monster had to be linked with the job he took, maybe some kind of insurance to see if who take the job, could take care of this ridiculous monsters...

he crouched down, blocking that stupid looking vegetable with one hand, and with the other he took out a short knife bought just for this mission, cutting legs harms and teeth of that thing.

I will eat you when i got nothing else to eat..

Then he broke that aubergine in two part and put them into a small bag, then resuming is walk towards the village direction.
After 10 minutes he felt that the place where he got hit from that magical vegetable , was hurting quite a bit for just being hit with a stick, and he thought that if there was a lot of these things in the same place , that would have probably been a problem to handle without a scrath.

If instead of a stick , it was a blade or edge of any kind, that hit would have hurt like hell.
As he was mumbling with himself the clouds started to cover the sun, and the weather was getting a bit colder.

It wasn't strong but , rain started to fall from the clouds, just a tiny think rain.
Also the wind raised a bit in strenght, as Atsui was getting closer to the village, the atmosphere was more gloomy , as if it was preparing for a nice welcome.

For his luck Atsui clothes where pretty warm and the cape helped greatly to defend from the chill in the air. After walking for a few hours the adventurer noticed that he could see the village in the distance, and for an unknown reason is started to accelerate his steps.

Watching left and right in the field, he could see that there was no farmer working, and that was a bit weird, since even if it was winter at that hour of the day, people are around working or even just to go around or for errands. But there wasn't a soul he could see while he was approaching to his working place.

Atsui decided to get prepared for anything that could come out, and drew out his short sword. wielding it with his right hand, while he kept walking he noticed there was a strange light coming from the crops, and he stepped into the field to check on what that light was.

As soon as he stepped into the field Atsui could smell the power of magic here and there, and the closer he went to the center of the field, the stronger the light was glowing.
All of a sudden a strange but strong dark aura could be felt, and a voice could be heard.

So they sent someone at last.

From nowhere thirty feet far in front of Atsui, a big sphere of smoke popped up and a Dark wizard made his entrance. A middle aged man with a very long beard, was spouting none sense about conquering the world, starving people to death.

Atsui was pretty much surprised to see the culprit of the horrible curse coming out so easily, he didn't have to fight any strange creature, but now he had to deal with this guy, and Atsui never liked to fight in the first place...
His hope was to find some sort of curse and just to figure out to get rid of it, but life is never that nice.

I will turn you into a banana if you don't turn yourself and run away!!
But before that, i want you on your knees begging for forgiveness!!!

Rumbled the dark magician at Atsui.

Are you retard or what? Kneeling in a field of plants full of thorn??

While he was talking to the dark wizard Atsui started to chant his void compression spell, with his hands in front him he started to created the sphere of void that would have been shoot at the dark mage.

So you choose death!!
And what is that ridiculous spell you are chanting?

The bearded man started to walk in Atsui direction , chanting his own spell while moving.
As the young man wasn't able to cast spells while moving he thought that the opponent in front of him was pretty much more experienced in using magic than he was, but for his luck, the wizard had no weapon with him, only a stick of wood, probably needed to cast his magics.

The sphere of void was a mix of shining white and deed dark black color swirling very very fast in a circular way in front of the caster hands. Then with a small simultaneous puch of both hands forward the Ball of void got shooted.

In no time the Void compression spell was ready to hit his target, and the dark wizard was greatly understimating the only magic attack that Atsui had, rpboably because the boy magic was not common at all.

The magic sphere was so fast that the dark magician didn't even realize what had hitted him.
The push of the impact hitting the man on his abdomen sent the wizard flying back 10 feet.
Falling to the ground and scratching his back with the plants thorn.

Taking advantage of the situation Atsui run in the wizard direction trying to hit the middle aged man before he could recover. Running as faster as he could he was on the wizard body in a flash, and with all of his might he tried to pierce his foes to the ground.

Even if caught by surprise and getting a hit by Atsui spell the wizard had a reaction lot faster then Atsui would have expected from a man of that age. The old guy barely menaged to avoid the deadly hit, rolling on his right side only getting slightly sliced.

Curse you !!

The dark wizard screamed to his attacker , he never told the young boy in front of him could be so skilled, in fact the old guy greatly understimated The fairy tail mage strenght, paying a price even too small for his mistake.

Soon after realizing that fight wouldn't be so easy as he expected he started his counter attack.

After the short roll , he promptly kicked Atsui away, and in the same way the wizard understimated the boy, the boy also understimated the quick reaction a man that age could have.

With no chance to dodge his enemy kick , Atsui got hit on his stomach, stepping back and leaving the old man a chance to stand up.

Who would have thought a decaying body like your could recover so fast from my magic!!

Said Atsui while massaging his stomach with his left hand.

shouldn't a man your age play boules on the beach?

But the dark mage had found his resolve and didn't lose his concentration , casting a curse on Atsui's body.

Aren't you too bold for a youg man your age?
Said the Dark magician while raising his wooden rod in the air with his left hand, and soon after Atsui started to feel a strange feeling in his left harm.
And as fast as he could he stepped back to try getting out of the old guy spell radius.

He wanted to use his Void movement spell, but he thought that it would have been wise not to uncover all his cards so fast.

Luck was not on his side this time. Atsui felt his left harm slowly losing strength and not only that, he noticed that his limb gotten more fragile and soft then it used to be.
That guys curses were stronger then he imagined, what if he wasn't good enough to face this opponent? what if his life ended there because he made a step longer then his leg?

None of that mattered, since Atsui faced situation lot worst than that in his past.

Collecting all of his courage he charged again in the direction of his foe, and raising his right arm wielding his short sword he swung downward in a diagonal slash from top right to the bottom left.
As he saw the young man attacking again the dark magician tried to defend has best as he could but the age gap in strength was a bit too wide, Atsui slash cut of a part of the rod the man used to defend himself, and sliced the man chest.

Compared to before the cut was pretty deep, and guy screamed in pain.

But not everything went as planned, with his harm impossible to use, the balance of his mody was harder to keep and Atsui fell on the ground after getting a hit on the old mage.

From a bit far in the field a group of farmer had noticed the curse had been life from their field, and were laughing with rejoice. One of them was able to spot 2 dots moving very far in the tomatoes field.
turned silent trying to understand what the hell was happening far from them and in their field, he got the other farmed attention too, and all together they decided to go see what or who was in the field.

Even after losing his balance Atsui ability with sword was definitely not bad and while falling he turned his back to the ground using the change to slice the dark mage lelft leg, swinging his short sword as better as he could in that short amount of time , and after landing a hit, he fell on the ground defenceless.

The old geezer exrpression was a mid way between pain and happiness, because the man who was causing so much pain was now on the ground, ready to be killed!

DIE ANNOYING BRAT!!

wielding the rod that was previously cut down by Atsui with both hands, he raised his harms getting ready to pierce the young boy aiming for his heart.

Hei!! you two??!

The farmer were waving their hands, but they where still too far to understand what was happening.
When the Dark wizard heard their voice, he turned his face in the direction of the farmer, and those 2 seconds were more then enough for Atsui to cast his Void movement spell, while the distracted mage was looking away from him, he took advantage of the situation and void moved behind his enemy starting to chant the void compression spell for a second time.

When the Wizard came to his sense 2 seconds after getting distracted he saw totally surprised to see that his prey disappeared.
How could he move that fast from that position? Even if he was a bit distracted it would have been impossible to completely disappear from sight in that short amount of time.

Then he realized!

Even if that guy was fighting mostly with his short sword he was still a mage, and only god knows what kind of magic he could have known.
But it didn't take too much time to the old man to find Atsui just with his eyes. The only problem was that , as soon as he saw Atsui , the young guy had already started to chant his magic.

The old guy turned himself fast but not eough, in any case the wound on his leg, greatly helped him, since Atsui was aiming for the guy head, but the leg of the dark wizard was to weak to keep him standing, and he dodged the sphere of void falling on his left knee.

Damn, you are lucky as you can be grandpa.

Atsui was barely able to raise his arm to cast that magic, and that would have probably been his last magic attack. He was feeling that his left arm completely lost the ability to move.

"I might be forced to use THAT, to save my life in this fight" Atsui was thinking after missing with his magic.

Both of the mage were pretty tired and none of them seemed to be willing to move first.
Meanwhile the farmers were getting closer and closer.

When they will understand the situation, what do you think it will happen?
Atsui was trying to taunt the wizard in the hope that he would have preferred to run away.
He might have been failing the mission that way, but at least he would have been able to keep his life for that day.

After a few seconds of silence the Dark Wizard exploded laudly!

AHAHHAHAHAHAHA you would like that to happen hu?? But no my dear, YOU and ALL those farmer are going to die here today!!!!

Atsui knew he would have never retreated but, well, it was worth a try.

So be it...

With his harm impossible to move, Atsui macig was rendered useless except for the void movement spell. But the only way he could have won that fight, it was with that crappy low quality short sword.
He cursed himself to be so poor, and not be able to buy a better weapon. But well, that is what he had, and that had to be enough at least for that fight..

The old man collected some of his strength and stood up again, cursing Atsui for a second time, he raised his arm like previously did, and casted his curse.

Atsui had no way to defend from that curse, so he decided to take it straight ahead and shorten the distance, so he could hit the wizard again with his short sword.
Even if not very deep, both wound the dark wizard received kept on bleeding, and sooner or later he would have lowered his guard for losing too much blood.

The curse Struck Atsui for a second time, depriving him of the ability to hear.

By his side , the fairy mage just hoped that the curse wont take him the sight, he could have endured many things, but not the lost of sight

He noticed that he could no longer hear any sound, but nonetheless, he kept moving forward he had a stubborn personality and nothing would have stopped him until he was breathing.

Inside himself Atsui was a bit worried for the effect of those curse, if they would still be there even if he won the fight. on how could he kept on living as a mage with one arm less and with no ability to hear things.
But he would have never know any of that, if first he didn't won that fight.

in that hit, there probably was the fate of the whole fight. If he succeed with this hit, then the wizard would have been in a very hard position since both his legs, were cut.
With a laud scream that he himself could not hear, he swung his sword aiming for the right leg on the old wizard, trying to be as fast and as precise as possible.

The sword sliced the Wizard leg horizontally, and the old guy fell on both knee, with no strength left in his leg to stand up.
But even in that situation the old guy did not give in. Bearing the pain he went to hit Atsui's head with his rod.
Even if it was a middle aged man, a clean hit of that rod to Atsui'd head would have been a lot of damage and a possible loss consciousness.
The farmer were 200 feet away from them, and could now see them clearly. After realizing they were fighting the small group of man armed themselves with the farming tool and kept walking in the direction of that short range brawl.
Fast in their mind was the thought that, one of them could have been the culprit behind the curse that had hit their field, nearly bringing them on the edge of starvation.

The rain that was light and thick before, now was getting heavier and more intense, both the fighters were completely soaked and tired, whenever there was a blow of wind stronger then normal, both of them had difficulty standing.

Even if Atsui had not been physically hit, he was not used to fight in field and for a long time.
The still working arm was ok , but his leg were tired, since the water made the ground unstable, and the fall on his back from before was a bad hit, since he to swing his sword he could not stop the wall in any way.
