Completed The Haunting Part I : The Investigation

Post by Raiza 25th August 2015, 5:32 am

Job Title: The Cursed Part I : The Investigation
    Rank: D
    Player Requirements:
    5 posts minimum Per player(starting)
    150words minimum
    -Any Guild/Guildless
    Job Requirements:
-Must have at least 3 rolls done
-Can only roll once per post per player.
Job Location: Edge of Spooky Forest
Job Description: No matter what side you are on, no one truly wants to see strange vanishing acts of an entire small town. A town bordering the spooky forest seems to have 'vanished', but well more than just 'vanished'. The client that hired you was a man away on a trip to return to the entire population of this small village...gone with almost zero traces of what happened. Hiring any help he can get, he looks to investigate the matter. All you know is the buildings seem in tact, and not much has changed.
Enemies:  These enemies are not always just 'something to fight' but this plays a critical role in the future plots, hope you can keep up with the endurance it may require. When rolling, you must keep track of what enemy you are on. Such as for example the boss roll. Has a 'delay' first, then once you deal with that delay, and then after that if you roll boss again, you pick what is next on the list. If you roll and get something per say using boss as an example again. You roll and get it enough times you run out of things down the list. You ignore the roll. You may considder the job completed at ANY TIME after 3 rolls and 5 posts so long as  you follow the delayed roll rules. Note you dont need to roll every post.
--You may NEVER pre-spawn a 'clue' no matter what. You must roll for the clues. --

    Weak:
++Clue #1: The scratch marks(part 1): You notice the village seems to have black scar like scratch marks in a few spots, not anything you can tell to be obvious as to what they are except you can tell dark energy lingers near it
++Clue #2:  Smell of death: After so long death lingers in the air but even inspecting every single house, every single floor, every nook and cranny you could not tell where it is coming from, almost as if the smell was starting right where you were standing and just follows you around.
++Delayed: Seems your efforts in searching for clues lead you down a false path. That 'struggle' you thought happened may have just been an accident. That blood you saw on the floor? Turns out the family had a butcher.Maybe this is true, or its all a setup. Either way Rolling this requires 1 more roll and 1 more post.
++Clue #3: Strange sightings, it seems not just you, but your entire team seems to hallucinate every once and awhile near a certain house. The Client's house to be exact. Almost as if it was pushing you to stay away, these are minor but unless you roll clue 10 or expend 25% of your mana, then you're subject to these hallucinations when you try to get near, and it prevents you from going inside. Which raises the question 'why this house?'
++Clue #4: Struggles: There seems to have been 'slight' struggles in various houses, from knocked off the table kind of things, to a curtain being pulled down.
    Normal:
++Clue #5:  Blood marks: Seems a house not too far from the client's house has some blood in their sink. Closer investigation if you had proper means to, would indicate this was blood of a goat.
++Clue #6: Scratch marks(part 2): Further investigation over time, you take notice that these 'scratch marks' seem to have cut at the magical energy of the world where these marks are. You also have taken notice that they are not as random as before, they're typically in places around walls, floors, and the alike as if someone had scratched their nails across the surface...marking it on purpose
++Clue #7:  who...is that?: Exactly right, a strange pale albino figure, deep green and yellow eyes, pale brown nails, and a black cloak. This figure seems to be found walking almost lost in meaning. It requires has the HP of a B-rank mage but in all calculations this is considered a D-rank mage, but the only method of attack it possesses is a D-rank unarmed melee damaging strike. It is about as fast as a D-rank as well. Any spells C-rank or higher do triple damage. S-rank instant kills regardless of HP remaining. This CAN be rolled more than once and is the only thing that can be rolled more than once. Must kill this thing in order to progress, oh...did I mention do it fast cause if it survives 5 posts, a second one appears(max)
    Strong:
++Clue #8: Death!: That smell of death earlier? You could have SWORN you investigated this part. In fact... you did. You investigated this exact area, but now a small child lays dead in the middle of the floor, deprived of all magical and physical energy. They were drained and no single force of energy seems to linger near them as if they never even existed. Any trace of magical is gone, and worse, their life energy seems to be non-existent. They're dead of course. Though what does this mean?
++Delayed: Seems your efforts in searching for clues lead you down a false path. That 'struggle' you thought happened may have just been an accident. That blood you saw on the floor? Turns out the family had a butcher.Maybe this is true, or its all a setup. Either way Rolling this requires 1 more roll and 1 more post.
++Siphoned: It seems the day is taking it's toll on you already, or is there something else going on here? The entire group will lose 25% of your Health upon rolling this and you require 1 additional post from everyone in the thread.
++Clue #9: The stone of blood, a strange item, and just by luck your entire party happens to come across one. A dangerous item that seems to drain away at your life the more you hold it. It seems there are claw marks on these small golf ball sized stones. From this post forward you lose 1% hp each post. Keep track for a future part in this job Series!
++Run in: Something is weird. You feel a strange presence in the area, emotions become mixed to the point your magic that aids your allies wont work after rolling this until the thread is done and you leave the village.
    Boss:
++provoked Phantom: The Phantom is a small specter like creature. H-rank in power, and is strong as an H-rank mage. Meaning 700hp with the ability to be immune to anything B-rank or lower. In other words....if you're not doing this Job as a high enough rank, you'd never beat this boss, but heres the good thing! The Phantom does not fight you, it observes you and after you notice it, if you notice it at all, then it will flee(must roll a damage dice to notice it) If you roll a hit then you notice it. May roll 1 dice per post.
===Noticed: You finally noticed the phantom, it strikes fear in your hearts, even the most couragous of enemies will feel a dark presence lingering as if the sorrows of the world ached at your heart. Effects you regardless of ANYTHING you have to counter it unless you're S rank or higher. After this fear is put into you, the Phantom flees away for the rest of the job.
===Un-noticed: If you fail to notice it, then you seem to lose 5% mana oddly every post until this is dealt with.
++Clue #10: Somethings wrong. You noticed a key aspect within your job. The man that hired you seems to have just had a scapegoat for being the 'only' person out, but upon investigation you find his home, he was supposedly 'home' recently as a dinner was set out for an entire family, including...him. The stories just do not add up, why would he enlist mages to investigate what happened while he was 'away?' perhaps something dark is going on and you want to figure out what is going on truly. Though you keep it to yourselves as the man seems to be heading towards the town, It'd be best to not confront him yet(instant fail if you confront him about anything of the sort), he asks you about your findings, you feel its best to say you couldn't find too much out of the ordinary which satisfied with your lies, he gives you a much bigger reward

note: on roling dice the clues come in order so if you role a weak you get clue 1 in your past then you role again on your next post and you get weak again you get clue two. Or something similer

    Reward:
-Access to 'The cursed part II'
-2k Jewels if you got Clue #10/ 1k otherwise
-Blood stone if you got Clue #9:
-If you didn't pass by getting clue #10 then part 2 becomes albit harder

Blood stone: A small life siphoning stone that takes 1% of your life away every other post. It'd be best to not keep it since well.. its fairly worthless, can't make anything out of it, and after all it'll break as soon as you stop holding it (i.e try to pass to someone, it'll break, and stop working)

when people roll do the clues come in order so say you got a weak and a strong roll would you fine clue 1 and clue 8 then if same dice are rolled again you get clue 2 and 9? also what happens when you rolled the dice all weak so you find all weak clues then you roll again?

    A few scenarios I'll give.

Raiza searches for clues(insert lengthy post here)

Rolls a dice it comes up: Weak. I found clue #1

Thorn whom is on the job with me, also is searching for clues and rolled, they rolled a strong roll. So they found clue #8

Now we're on our third person we brought along, they rolled another Strong, so now its Clue #9 they found.

Okay back to my post and so far we found clues 1,8,9.

    Solo rp example.

I post, I roll a weak. I find clue #1. I post again, Roll weak, so there is clue #2. But my 3rd post i roll a Normal so thats clue #5. So far I have 1,2,5 clues found. Keep going I'd roll a strong this time so now I have clues 1,2,5,8.

See the rules are 1 roll per post no more. So we'd not roll the entire clue thing all in 1 post either.

    Get the idea ?

    All your points already exist.

If Soloing its 5 posts(Starting) as one could go longer. A lot of D-rank quests ( passport for example) only take 5 posts on a solo.

point 2. ( state here here that they can only roll once per thread)

I already stated below it that they can only roll once per post. I dont think I'mma make them roll only once per thread as that'd be unfair.

Point 3. If you read this which is part of the description, it already notes exactly what you asked (Enemies: These enemies are not always just 'something to fight' but this plays a critical role in the future plots, hope you can keep up with the endurance it may require. When rolling, you must keep track of what enemy you are on. Such as for example the boss roll. You may consider the job completed at ANY TIME after 3 rolls and 5 posts so long as you follow the delayed roll rules. Note you don't need to roll every post.

however to save time effort, sure I added the notes anyways. All except once per thread cause I dont feel getting 1 clue per thread should even be remotely fair
