Afternoon Freakout ~ No Interruptions

A relieved sigh escaped the light blonde haired girls' lips as she caught a glimpse of Manayus rushing towards the fire wizard. It did, indeed, shock her how strong Manayus was; how could he have underestimated himself like that? He was far more powerful than he claimed to be. Perhaps it was because it was his emotions that were fueling his sudden power increase. Struggling to sit up, Zoe groaned a bit as the burn coursed through her in this attempt. She managed to peer forward and notice Manayus holding the fire wizard against a wall which was followed by the fire wizard trying to attack. Zoe was not sure what happened next but Manayus was sent flying backwards but he wasn't the only one who was hurt; the fire wizard was as well. Noticing the long streak of blood that Manayus left as he skid along the grass made Zoe gasp in shock and anger. He looked so beaten up and he was in this state because of her; because he tried to fight for her.

While on the other hand, the fire wizard seemed to have stood up to his full height and started marching towards Manayus, his eyes holding a sadistic and angry gleam which was aimed for the blond haired boy. "Did you think you could beat me? Stupid boy, I'll show you." Igniting his hands on fire, the fire wizard kept his hand above Manayus, wanting to shoot him from a very close range. "No..." Zoe muttered. She couldn't let him hurt Manayus after everything he did for her! She just couldn't!

The light blonde haired girl groggily stood up to her feet, her eyes hidden by the bangs of her hair. "I won't let you hurt him." There was a slight whimper in her voice however, the determination that was also present masked the weak whimper. Making herself stand straight and in a firm position, the girl raised her eyes to look directly at the fire wizard with anger filled to the brim. The fire wizard's attention was still on Manayus and he failed to notice Zoe. As if in slow motion, the girl raised herself in the air as a dark feeling - one that resembled death - enveloped around her. Looking straight at the fire wizard who had finally looked at the blonde girl, he raised his eyebrow slightly, a little shocked that she had managed to get up however, he was confident that he could deflect anything she threw at him, especially in her weakened state. He proceeded to forget about Manayus momentarily, as he walked towards the area where the female was levitating. However, both of them didn't know what exactly happened next. She raised her hands as she released an attack. With a loud roar, she thought of the spell 'Aerial Blow Away' and it formed in front of her hands; a gush of wind shot out from her hands in a circular motion right towards the fire wizard.

However, this time there was something different about the spell. Wrapped around the grey of the wind was a midnight black in small tendrils type, encompassing the spell. The fire wizard's eyes widened as he raised his arms forward to deflect and try to activate a spell however, the attack hit him before he could activate the spell. With a painful scream, he got hit by the spell plummeting him to the ground at the position where he stood while the wind continued to drill into his back while his scream echoed through the town. Zoe levitated there, above having an emotionless look plastered on her face as the wizard continued to get hit by the attack. After a few seconds, the attack disappeared as the fire wizard lay on the ground in pain. It was only then did Zoe realize what she had done; she had no idea what the black thing encompassing her spell was and the attack was more stronger than it was supposed to be. What had just happened? Though whatever it was, it surely helped. Having no time to think about this any longer, Zoe rushed over to Manayus and he leaned over him, worry laced in her voice as exhaustion tried to catch up to her making her want to collapse.

"Mana-san! Are you okay?!"

Worry for the wizard laying down before her flooded the blonde haired girl's eyes as he claimed about being alright when he clearly wasn't. It made the girl want to hit him hard however, she got distracted by the loud roar of anger that erupted from behind her. Looking backwards, she saw the fire wizard who apparently, seemed as though he went on a rampage claiming something about demons, again. It made her wonder what exactly he was talking about. But that thought left her mind as the fire wizard created a huge pillar of fire, wanting to finish the both of them with this final blow.

Before Zoe could do anything, Manayus had already taken the initiative and pulled her close to him as they fell onto the ground with him on top of her. If this were any other situation, the girl would have her cheeks red by now however, this was serious. 'Manayus, what are you doing? You're not in any position to try to save me!' She bellowed at him, forgetting the honorific she usually called him by and not wanting to risk his own life just to save her. As the attack of the fire wizard got closer, Zoe closed her eyes and tried to struggle out of his grasp not wanting him to get hurt because this attack would injure him severely or it might, in the worst possibility, even kill him.

But before anything could happen, something cold hit the both of them, soaking them to the core. At Manayus' remark about ruining the moment, Zoe just looked at him, bafflement evident on her face right before, he collapsed slipping off of her. 'Mana-san!' Zoe cried out as she swiftly got up to face the now unconscious mage. A few Rune Knights quickly made their way to her and picked Manayus up, ready to take him to the hospital. It was then Zoe noticed that the ones who saved them were the Rune Knights who had now, captured the fire wizard. She breathed a sigh of relief however, was angry at the same time for them not showing up before and her worry had yet not been subsided for Manayus was in a critical condition now.

The Rune Knights and Zoe reached the hospital after a few minutes with the blonde girl panting in exhaustion and pain, ready to pass out. But she tried to keep herself up; she had to know if Manayus was okay. 'You should rest.' One of the Rune Knights said and Zoe shook her head, the action causing a slight pain to engulf her head. 'No; not until I know if he's going to be okay.' But it seemed as though her health did not agree with her for her last words came out very faint as she collapsed as well, with the Rune Knight catching her and taking her to be treated in the same room that Manayus was situated in, as exhaustion and tiredness caught up to her.
