    A twist of fate

Post by Tamashi on 26th April 2017, 2:56 pm

Advent had been travelling for a months since he arrived on Fiore, he had ended up at a large port town, a place filled with a feudal government he was just happy to hear the chirping of birds as he entered the forest "Seems like home... kind of" he said his voice was happy but it had as saddened undertone as he lowered his head for a moment as he listened "I know I shouldn't be sad this place is beautiful... but so was... is home" he sighed rubbing the back of his head knowing that he would be given into trouble if he thought any differently about the place he grew up and even now called home. Letting out a deep sigh a gentle warmish breeze floated past making his snowy white hair dance a little on his back.

"Well, since I have my train of thought back perhaps I should try something new..." he scratched his head as he eased his foot back a little taking a deep breath his hands moving in front of him creating the lotus hand gesture, his eyes closing underneath his blindfold as voices would start to be heard both male and female. Slowly the hand gesture of the lotus started to open a small flickering light beginning to be seen in the centre of it though his breathing would quickly become laboured to what he was doing the voices dwindling to be barely whispers though he fought to hold it for as long as he could he eventually fell back on the grass a little breathless "How am I going to get perfected I can't even get past the beginning?" his voice seemed a little defeated as his hands moved to his blindfold.

East Forest. A really beautiful place, at the pinnacle of nature. It truly was a magnificent place where many could come to for peace and quiet, animals and plants, and sweet spring smell of the trees. To Ezra, he was the only known person who would actively venture through the forest. Most who came by were passing through to get to other towns.

However, that fact would change when Ezra would come about a strange face. The person had long white hair and fair, white skin. Their choice in clothing was so strange, he could almost swear he was a foreigner. And he wasn't completely certain of their sex, either. Their presence was an enigma that Ezra yearned to analyze.

Ezra would be entangled in a shroud of shadows as he sat upon the the branches of wise and strong oaks, observing this stranger. With his enhanced senses, Ezra had basically eavesdropped on this person. It was an interesting one-sided conversation that hinted to a lot of this person's history. Hmmm... an inspiring wizard, have we? Bet he's lost, out here all 'lone like this. Ezra thought to himself as he came to the conclusion that he would approach this alleged man.

The blazing redhead hopped down from the security of the oak tree and directly in front. With attention divided, he stumbled upon his landing, and nearly tripped onto the stranger. Luckily, he swayed back until he regained balance, but his expression was one of panic and relief.

Ezra dusted himself up and looked the stranger in the eyes... er, blindfold, and smiled. "Hey there, boy. S'matter? Ya lost or 'somethin? I know these parts in, out, front,
back, and three times sideways if it's an exit 'er lookin 'fer."
Ezra offered, leaning down to look up at his face, which remained staring downwards. "Well if that ain't the saddest face I'd seen this noon! Tell you what, boy. If you tell me what's up, I'll cheer 'er spirits." He smiled. Ezra was very much a people person, and often made efforts to socialize even when it's unexpected.

Rhyolo was walking through the forest around Magnolia looking at the beautiful scenery and wildlife. He strolls along just enjoying himself when he finds two others there. He then freezes in his tracks and stays silent in the background hoping they don't notice him.

Advent sat up the moment he felt the vibrations on the ground his head tilting to the right for a moment before he moved his head down and slowly moving up almost as if analysing the one in front of him "You almost fell over when landing, are you normally so clumsy when jumping from trees?" he couldn't help but asking as he looked to the mans face for a moment before standing and walking towards the tree his hand going out touching it gently almost greeting a close friend "I'm sorry, he should have asked before thinking it was normal. I hope you're alright" his voice was gentle he bowed his head sliding down and sitting at the roots as he tried to recall the questions that he had been asked.

"No, I'm never lost because I always know exactly where I am." he said with a childish grin, though turned his head as if someone was talking to him "Oh, well that makes sense." he said his head turning back towards the stranger "No, I don't know where this place is and I don't know my way out but that's the fun of it, right?" he giggled a little though it was short lived as he felt other vibrations and turned his head swiftly towards where he felt them but turned back when he felt the motions stopped. "You're asking me something personal and not even introduced yourself, also I think there is another person over there" he stated pointing towards the newcomer.

The redhead would listen carefully to what the stranger had to say. And the confirmed young man only had a sassy response, something Ezra could appreciate. The man continued on about his situation, and it was fairly understandable. Ezra chuckled delightfully as he spoke, "Well, I reckon we'd need to wash that mouth of 'ers with some good ol' soap." He would reach out for a handshake, "But I ain't ever dashed down from a good 'n tall oak like that before. I just wasn't focus is all. Name's Ezra, if 'er 'wonderin. I take it 'er new to these parts."

A new scent had introduced itself to the party. It reeked much like a human's, but he wasn't for sure. Ezra peered over his shoulder to discover the subtle heartbeats and breaths of a wizard with mediocre power. His senses sure did come in handy. Like so, Ezra smirked at the person's arrival. "I hear 'ya over there, boy... or girl, never know. Why don't'cha come over 'ere? I don't bite 'n I always like myself a new friend 'n all that." His smirk softened into a smile as his size would tower over the white haired man.

His charming looks and southern accent would be his most unique traits, that made him stand out the most. He was more interested in a good chat than a stroll through nature, anyway.

Advent remained where he was unmoving for a moment before turning and looking to him his nose wrinkled at the mention of washing his mouth out with soap “Have had that before I don’t like cherry soap” he said like a pouting child as he leaned against the ancient oak tree his hands moving almost caressing the bark as if it was someone dear to him a deep sigh coming from between his lips as his head leaned back towards the tree. “Hush, please for now. I don’t want to... you know if I keep trying so soon after failing there is consequences and I don’t need that!” he had changed from being in a childish manner to more of a semi adult that was almost frightened of something not that he would speak of it if asked, it was not something he should talk about and he knew it. “Ezra?” his head came back to being level as he if he was looking straight at the other “Thank you for introducing yourself, I’m Advent.” he said returning the courtesy of the other after all he had already been given into trouble for not introducing himself to the strange person named Julius that spoke about himself in the third person and he didn’t need the headache from them again.

“Yes, I have been here a few days.” he spoke honestly to the other about how long he had been in the forest not that Erza would get more out of the white headed teen about anything but he would be civil as the person didn’t seem to be a threat, at least for the moment. “But I am enjoying my time here so I’m not in any rush to move on but if it continues to get more and more crowded here it seems I will have no other option but to do so.” he seemed saddened at that thought but knew it was an inevitable truth. His head turning quickly towards the other who seemed to have to approach “Hello” he said simply to the newcomer rubbing his head he could already feel the effects of what he happened affecting him as winced a little “Don’t worry I’ll be fine.. there’s no marks just a little bit of a headache” he said quietly sliding down the trunk of the tree letting out a slow deep breath.

The white haired young man was certainly an enigma. He said strange things in a strange way and seemed oddly intimate with the nature around him. Ezra may have been simply overthinking this and misjudging him for some treehugger, when truthfully the white-haired man could simply be an appreciative observer of nature like the redhead was. The man really did say what was on his mind and he said so without hesitation. Ezra could appreciate any kind of confidence but this was more unexpected if anything.

Ezra listened closely to what he had to say about the soap-washing term, which was oddly interesting. "Really now? I'll be damned! If birds of a feather flock together ain't the truest thing I've just discovered! The taste of soap is all too and well familiar with me, ya see!
Ma and Pa used to wash my tongue nice 'n good when I said some foul 'thangs. Ain't wash it good 'nuff, though. I'm still 'cussin 'n 'tussin like I used to when I'd be just a wee thing, ya see."
Ezra smiled, "But, I'd doubt you'd have a tongue as foul as mine. Ain't nothin
wrong with some foulness 'ere and there. Though, it has it's limits, I tell ya."

Ezra would continue to listen to the white haired man until he returned his name, Ezra would then bow his head in acknowledgement. "Pleasure to meet you, good and fair Advent. Strange name, where ya from?"

He would leave that question to hang over Advent as the suspected wizard approached. He was physically adept, but lacked in magical power. Ezra greeted him with a toothy and warm grin, "Hey there. Name's Ezra. 'Ers? What'cha doing all out in these parts?"

The young wizard sighed with relief as he saw the other two were freindly."My name is Rhyolo. Nice to meet you, Ezra." He studied the one who had introduced himself. He looked ike he was in his 20's and he sensed the imense magical power around him. He then turned to the other person there. The male looked a littlebit older than rhyolo and had aroundthe same level of magical power if not stronger. He then says, "You are Advent, right?" He then smiles at the two older men. Rhyolo then puts his hand in his pockets and looks at them. "How did you guys know of my presence anyways? Do you guys like giving strangers heart attack attacks?" He the looked at the ground as he saw the shade growing and the light vanishing. He then looks up at the sky and then sees the clouds starting to cover the sun. They were a very dark hue of gray. He then smelled the air to see if there were any indicators of rain coming. once he sniffed the scent of metal started filled his nostrils. he then said, "We should find some cover soon. It is going to rain soon. Possibly a cloudburst."

Advent remained sat of the roots of the tree his eyes closing his head tilted backwards as his mouth gaped open a little as he let out a sigh of frustration "I don't neeeeeeeed to, it's just a headache" he said like he almost having a childish temper tantrum over something but it abruptly stopped as he poked at his stomach a little "hm.. food..." he said almost as if he had forgotten what he was doing before, so stood quickly now seemingly ignoring both men as he walked away into the forest almost skipping in delight "Food, food, food we love you... food, food, food, yes we do" he sang to himself as he started to pick berries from the bushes nearby avoiding the ones that hadn't matured fully or where poisonous before moving to a tree scratching the side of his head "You wouldn't mind... I'm a bit hungry" he said almost as if he were asking permission from the tree that was in front of him. After a few moments he started climbing the tree almost as if he was a monkey his feet clenching and digging gently to the bark for extra support as he moved to take an apple but stopped "For what your giving us we're thankful and will remember your sacrifice so we can continue talking and things" he said then taking an apple throwing one right at Ezra's head and another right towards Rhyolo's with amazing accuracy he decided he wouldn't shout incoming since they had eyes and would see it coming if not he would find it funny.

He took a few apples down for himself and fell backwards his body being held by his bent legs, his white hair flowing free like a sheet of snow waving due to his slight swinging as he started eating the berries first. He thought the red headed male was a little weird since how he spoke was strange to him, but then it wasn't as strange as the third person pirate also known as Julius but he had a funny feeling that he'd bump into him again and would get use to the strange quirk that he had after all though strange he found it oddly charming on some level. It was only then he realised that the other had spoken to him and turned his upside down gaze to the two "I've never swore or cussed in anyway, I just said something I shouldn't have and they decided the way t go was soap... they had to choose cherry! Any other flavour I bet it would have tasted fine but they choose cherry!" he almost seemed upset about the flavour of the soap more than the stuff actually having been used on him in the first place.

He went quiet as he tried to replay the last part of the information back and came across the question of where he came from his somewhat happy demeanour changed completely as he stilled on the branch "All you need to know is I'm not from here." his voice both serious and cold enough you could swear that a snow storm was blowing in there where a few things he got overly touchy on and where he was from was one of them, but after a moment he started to swing again a smile once again on his face as he started to eat his berries once more. Hearing the newcomer mention what he called him he tilted his head to the left "Well I'm at a disadvantage, who are you?" he asked not mixing his words he disliked it when people knew his name but he didn't have the same information about them.

"I'm not sure about the red head but your heavy on your feet so It's like the vibrations of a bull" he admitted to the other, he could have said that he was told by people to which would have been a half truth that would have made him seem crazy, well crazier than he already seemed but he had felt the boy before he was given the information so went with that explanation "Heart attacks?" he seemed almost like a confused child when that was mentioned his head moving as if he was looking down right below him "Oh..." he then turned his focus to the slightly younger boy "Well those don't seem so fun but if you want to have one go right ahead and I'll be the one pointing and laughing" he said honestly but seemingly flinched almost as if he had been hit "Sorry, that was uncalled for... at least in part" he said scratching at his nose.

Hearing that it could rain he nodded with a smile, he enjoyed the rain and had yet to see it do so since he got to Fiore so it was almost like a treat for him "Water is the source of life, without it everything would die" he said before taking a bite into the shining red apple "No need to look for shelter, last I checked I was waterproof not to sure about you two" he said honestly before taking another bite making no effort to sit or move from the branch he was currently hanging like a bat from.

Ezra would listen intently to Advent as he spoke. He was a strange one, alright. Don't get Ezra wrong, he's come across some strange people. But this young man's behavior was somewhat off putting. It was soon common knowledge that Advent was hungry when he began to mumble about food and rub his stomach. Advent eventually warded off into a world of his own as his body began to shift and move up and about the tree trunk, the shaft, and eventually its branches.

It was a ritual of its own as Advent would sing himself a tune as he forged for food. Quickly, Advent returned to the group with a handful of a tree's juicy treat, that which is a glossy, colorful apple. Advent distributed among the group with gentle under and overhand tosses, Ezra quick to catch it with his large hand. The redhead inspected the fruit curiously, smelling it, groping it, staring it down until he eventually bit right into it. "See you've got 'erself a way of forging. Guess 'er full of little surprises. Ezra smiled as he would indulge in the apple's sweet flavor.

Advent would be the one to continue the conversation, responding to his earlier tease about his vulgarness and about his oh-so-dreadful experience with not just any soap. Not vanilla! Not lavender! But cherry. Ezra would comically sweatdrop and bury his lips into the apple as he spoke before he returned a response, "Cherry sure ain't the problem here... the fact you'd be okay with all other flavors... strange kid. I like it." Ezra snickered.

Swiftly, the conversation flowed nicely. They would speak about Advent's history briefly, but the white-haired man was quick to avoid the subject, leaving Ezra to his own questions and answers. Soon, the young man from the near distance would interject, inquisitive about their how's, what's, and why's of his finding. "Sure is a nice name. The pleasure is all mine,
    boy."
Ezra giggled, Ah, well, I reckon it'd be quite a fright to suddenly be discovered by some folks out here in the forest, huh? My fault. But ya know, as you get stronger,
you eventually sense all kinds of folks with magic in'em. That 'n because I just happen to have the sharpest of noses 'round these parts. Could smell ya, hear ya, see ya, and sense ya 'fer bout a mile 'way if I really found it 'interestin."
Ezra would continue. His speech was sometimes clear and understandable, and other times it was heavily slurred and hard to clean up. It really depended on his mood and the nature of the conversation.

"Cloudburst?" Ezra shaded his eyes with a flat hand on his forehead and glanced up at the cloudy sky, "Well if you ain't right! Reckon there'll be one any minute just about now. But that's alright, little water can't hurt no one. Except sometimes it gets you a real stench after it finishes if 'er dressed heavily. Up to y'all if we take shelter 'r not."

Rhyolo listened to the white haired wizard's explanation and nodded. Then he watched Advent climbed the tree with ease. What the Hell is this dude?! He can climb like a spider monkey. He then was turned around by the explanation offered by Ezra. He nodded and understood what the older wizard meant. "Hopefully I can learn to do that." Rhyolo the notices two apples coming at himself and Ezra. He then promptly the catches his with one hand. He then watches Ezra examine his before biting into it. He then followed suit and bit into it. The apple's juices spilled and ran down his chin. He then wiped the dibble off of his chin and then looked at Advent. He then bent his legs and jumped ten feet into the air and landed on a branch right near him.He then smiled in his face and said, "My name is Rhyolo by the way." He the bit into his apple again.
"Rain is fine and all but it just fizzles me out."
