Magic
Primary Magic: Merfolk Royal Guard
Secondary Magic: N/A
Caster or Holder: Holder - Trident
Description: From the age of 13 Lycus has been enlisted in the royal guard for the Merfolk Kingdom he was born into. Being born to two mer’s already enlisted in the guard and one of the youngest soldiers to ever enlist? Toxicus has had much longer than most Merman to master the skills associated with being one of the Merfolk protecting the royal family! This shows very clearly in combat as an exceptional mastery of the Magic used by the Royal Guard, this Merman can outmatch most if not all of his peers in execution of using the Guards specific type of magic. So what type of Magic does the Royal Guard of Merfolk use? Well this sort of magic has two parts to it, the first half is called Trident which like one would guess is related to the weapon, while the second is called Armory which is everything else someone in the Merfolk Royal Guard is taught to do.
A Trident is the most common weapon in the Mer Culture and when someone is registered into the Guard they are given one. Weird as it sound’s, this single weapon is with a Mer for the entire time they serve! Guard’s will channel any natural magic they have into the Trident merging it with their magic, meaning they are the only Mer able to use that specific trident. This also makes having one’s Trident get broken a very taboo even. In the case of a young Guard whose skill has not been realized much? This is a sign he will never get anywhere! For an older Mer who is realized as skilled? It is a bad omen of things to come for the kingdom. Since the trident is so essential, the first thing a Guard is taught to do it fix their Trident should it sustain any damage in battle to prevent it from ever being broken. Should a Trident become snapped, it is almost entirely impossible to fix it without an immense magical and physical strain being placed on its user. It should also be noted that a Guard with a broken Trident slowly loses their ability to lose any sort of magic due to having fused their magic into the Trident when receiving it. Lycus has a very simple Trident, the traditional three prongs colored silver, and a long shaft with a hand made hilt at the end of it, he’s also tied some shells to the base right beneath the horns of the trident.
Armory is the second part of the Royal Guards magic and like its name would suggest is the way Mer’s access any of the other weapons they use besides for their Tridents. This part of their magic? Can easily be considered Requip Magic as it allows them to call forth new weapons, parts of armor and such things. However it is different from normal requips because anything called forth by it and stored within it; Is only able to be used by Merfolk, it rejects all others.
Strengths:
♜ It would be very difficult for someone to steal any of this mages equipment since the items will violently reject anyone who isn’t a merfolk.
Weaknesses:
♜ Having one’s Trident broken results in never being able to use magic again unless someone can repair the Trident.
♜ Without their equipment user’s of this magic are unable to do anything magic wise, so they are screwed if they lose something.
Lineage: None
Unique Abilities:
♜ Fused Weapon: Lycus always possesses a Trident that is considered equal to his rank due to it being fused with his magic. This weapon can not be assigned abilities within his magic. His trident? Is simply the item he uses to cast all of his magic and is considered to have the same stats as a requip weapon equal to his rank. However it does not break when it reaches zero durability unless I decide so for plot reasons as this would result in him losing his magic until it is repaired, instead it is simply unusable for the rest of the thread.
♜ Merfolk Magic: When Toxicus is in his mer form he is more compatible with his equipment, resulting in his requip stats rising by 25%. This ability is limited because it will not effect things with caps like hp regen, mp regen, damage reduction and such, nor will it affect his trident and if there is any stat being taken below the base level, this will nerf it further. Yet other things like durability, speed and damage on his requips are affected. Flaw in this ability? It’s basically useless if he is not near the sea of another large body of water as it can make him a fish on dry land or a fish in a barrel. Trying to use this anywhere on land results in a sitting duck.
♜ Deep Sea: Merfolk are amazing swimmers, far faster than your average mage. When he is in the water and thus forced to take his Merman form? When he swims. Lycus is 50% swifter than he otherwise would be.

♜ While the weapon is rather weak, it’s passive ability can help Lycus swiftly dry his tail to regain his legs should he need to.

♜ Even though this can help him dry his tail, it takes two posts to do so, leaving him vulnerable during that time.

Weaknesses:
♜ If someone doesn’t hit the bracers their damage reduction as armor does nothing.

C Rank Spells
- Spoiler:
Name: Aragonite Spear
Rank: C
Type: Weapon

Passive Ability: This weapon has -25% to durability in return for +25% to it’s attack stat
Strengths:
♜This is a very heavy hitting weapon since it it does above the base in damage.
Weaknesses:
♜It’s active ability is only usable once per requip due to it’s lengthy cool down.
♜The spear is much easier to break while in use due to having weakened durability.
♜It can be hard to defend himself from close combat attacks since he’s wielding two long range weapons when using this.
Name: Aquamarine Armor
Rank: C
Type: Armor
Duration: 5 Posts
Cooldown: 6 Posts
Description: Forged deep beneath the waves this is the strongest set of armor that Lycus owns, though it is just a simple pauldron and breast plate. Most of it looks like it’s made from a normal steel material but each piece has a single aquamarine gem in the center.
Active Ability: The armor begins to glow and triggers any available water to form into a 10 meter barrier than can take 3 hits of c rank damage before shattering. This shares it’s duration and cool down with the armor itself, so only usable once per requip.
Passive Ability:.Causes the field for 20 meters to suddenly become a seascape. Naturally this can be swam out of if you get to the edge and such, it is not an arena lock, but someone will sustain D rank melee damage for each turn they remain in it, if they can’t breath under water because, clearly they will be drowning.
Strengths:
♜ The barrier can be used to protect multiple allies at the same time.
♜ If one is clever they may even use the barrier to temporarily isolate an enemy something like a temporary arena lock.
Weaknesses:
♜ Since the barrier is made from water, lightning spells do double damage to it, causing it to break sooner.
♜ Due to the ten meter span of this barrier, it’s possible to get someone unintended inside of it, like an enemy.
♜ Any allies outside the barrier are not protected since no one can enter after it’s been erected.
Name: Aquamarine Blade
Rank: C
Type: Weapon
Duration: 5 posts
Cooldown: 6 Posts
Description: This blade is the strongest, most balanced of his arsenal besides for his Trident, measuring at four feet long the blade is made from the gemstone Aquamarine which is rumored to be made from mermaid’s tears.
Active Ability: Once every two posts the blade will start glowing causing more damage to be dealt to the first person struck by it in that post.
Passive Ability: 3% Mp Regen for Lycus and his allies
Strengths:
♜ The active ability can be used twice within the span of the blades duration.
♜ Due to the Mp regain it is possible Lycus can be ready to summon another weapon swiftly after this one fades, without much loss.
Weaknesses:
♜ If Lycus draws out this Blade he has no spare hands afterwards because he must also wield his trident at the same time.
♜ The Mp regen is next to useless if someone is actively casting spells alongside of it as they are losing more than the are gaining.
♜ Clearly if the weapon reaches zero durability it becomes broken and useless for the rest of the thread.
