Jin always wanted to help people, consequently he wanted to become a reliable person. Jin hadn’t known Rei for long but her words had made him extremely happy. She relied on Jin and wasn’t scared of what awaited them. ”I won’t let any harm come to you. As a mage of Black Rose, I will protect my friends” he said as he looked at the shop. There was nothing about the shop that made it different from a normal pawnshop. Ironically, in light of the recent information that made it all the more suspicious. ”Rei-chan…” he said as he stepped a little closer to her, ”…we have company”. Though the thugs were hiding but thanks to Jin’s experience he was able to sense their presence. Call it a veteran’s experience.

Meanwhile, Kaya was dealing with a brain freeze. A few moments ago, thanks to her greed when Rei wasn’t looking, she had taken a large bite off the ice cream and finished it. Her movements were so quick in doing so that even Jin hadn’t noticed it. She held her head as the pain circulated in it for a little while. Jin noticed that the thugs comprised of all of the individuals they had asked about the jewels. Apparently, they were all in on the deal and had gathered here awaiting the arrival of the Black Rose mages. The shop’s door opened and the owner came out with a mace in his hand along with a confident grin on his face. It appeared that these thugs believed that their numbers were the only thing that they needed to take down Jin and Rei.

”So I hear the Rising Star Okura Jin is asking around about some kind of jewels with a little girl”, the leader began to speak. ”What business does a dog of the magic council have with some stolen jewels anyway?”, it was a futile attempt to provoke Jin. He had been in too many situations to see through his opponent’s plan right away. He didn’t deem them worthy of a reply, Jin waited until Kaya finally returned to normal.

Jin and Kaya prepared for battle, to even the odds a bit more, two warriors appeared by Jin’ side. First was the appearance of two large smoke clouds as they faded away, the warriors appeared. One of them was a lady he had once summoned before: with a large whip and provocative clothing. Her clothing was revealing enough to make all the men besides Jin drool over her once. Besides her clothing, she was a great warrior and was best for crowd control. So even though he didn’t want to, he still had to summon her just to be sure. The other summoned warrior was a new one, one whose abilities were unknown. The other summoned warrior was a muscular individual, more taller than Jin. His height was about over 6 feet and he wore a cloth over his entire face, leaving room only for a single eye. Unlike the previous times, this warrior had decided to appear on his own. ”Strange, this has never happened before” he thought but now there was no way to alter it.

The warriors that Jin could summon were thanks to his lineage. He could summon warriors who had fought alongside or against his ancestor. This particular warrior was the one that his ancestor had once fought and defeated. This individual was a faithful servant of the demon abaddon and due to some strange connection, he had found his way through Jin’s ability. However, for him to be able to use his weapon, he needed the ethernano of someone who was also related to abaddon. The weapon that this warrior had allowed him to create a barrier of sorts. This barrier could later be used for offensive and defensive means. The one eye that was visible on his face continuously stared at the little girl that stood beside him.

Jin assumed that the muscular structure of this warrior would be enough. He wasn’t aware of the secrets of the warrior he had just summoned.

Rei had taken note of the lackeys that had gathered around the alley when the boss appeared- most of these were the people in town they had asked about the stolen jewels- these guys sure were everywhere. Somehow the boss knew about Jin and his title in the guild: was Jin really that famous? Rei didn't know, then again, she didn't really know much about the outside world. She was just now learning about these kinds of things. The boss's own words were condemning, Rei took note of that. Rei doesn't like Nii-chan being called a dog. The big meany deserves to be behind bars for his guilty words. Rei said in a slightly hostile manner, purposefully provoking the boss. The boss had intended to provoke Jin into acting rash, but instead Rei had goaded the boss into being rash.

The boss bit his lip as he realized he had put his own foot in his mouth, he grunted and motioned to his men. They jumped down on the ground behind Rei, Jin and Kaya: the boss in front of them. Jin took action, using some weird magic, he summoned two beings, summons of some kind, spirits. One male and one female- Rei didn't recognize either, but she felt a connection to the male warrior spirit. The spirit warrior bowed in front of Rei light a knight in a queen's service, M'Lady, my sword is shield is yours to command. it said to Rei in a tone of reverence.

Rei blinked in disbelief, she had glanced at Jin but was unsure of what to make of his expression. Whatever the case, they needed to act quickly. She nodded her consent and directed her gaze behind them to the group of lackeys ready to get them. Help us keep these bandits at bay. she said. The warrior stood and turned to face the band of thugs, he held up his hand and magic erupted from his fingertips. A barrier was erected in the narrow alley, this barrier was setup between Jin & Rei's group and the boss's lackeys. This separated the boss from his minions, it was the opportune moment to strike! The knight, sensing this- turned to face the boss and rushed him, knowing Jin was also in motion.

Jin was surprised at the favorable outcome that had presented itself. It appeared that this sort of weapon was the first among his summoned warriors. Apparently, due to his increase his strength the kind of warriors he could summon grew along with him. It appeared to be some sort of ability but in truth it was a weapon of the summoned warrior. Jin turned to look at the other summoned female warrior as he blushed and then turned away. He had to look at her to tell her that they needed to attack now but her dress was a bit too revealing. She understood what Jin wanted her to do so that’s what mattered.

”You will regret stealing someone’s jewels” said Jin as a large arrow appeared above his head. At the same time, the female warrior used her whip to bind the mace of the boss. Her strength was overwhelming enough to keep him stationary for a bit. And a little bit was all the time Jin’s attack needed to land a direct hit. The arrow was launched and it hit resulting in a large flame wall. Jin had just used his long ranged spell: Bird of Hermes. When the smoke settled, the leader emerged badly burned but still standing. ”You brats! You will regret picking a fight with me!!” he shouted as he blindly charged towards Jin. Before he could get closer, Jin used yet another spell to create heat based explosions and then followed that up with another one of his spells: Piercers. Using heat based projectiles to inflict further damage and ensure a knock out. The explosions were result of the spell: Miniplosions.

The two continuous spells also resulted in a smoke cloud and when it cleared the boss was on the floor, face first. He was badly burned but it wasn’t too serious. Jin wasn’t one to take the life of another. The lackeys having witnessed the defeat of their boss ran away immediately afterwards. The two Black Rose mages handed the pawn shop owner to the local law enforcement and retrieved the jewels from his possession. After collecting their reward, the two were off, heading back to the guild island.

    The End
