Get Rid of the Pesky Blockade! Kihia and Verona,(Private)

Job Info:

Kihia was sitting in his seat watching the scenery go by, the train was moving steadily down the tracks heading for clover station. He had taken up a job with one of Lamia Scales newer members as well as a new teammate of Kihia’s, Verona stone, a fire mage of some origin, but Kihia had yet learned in what form yet. The job in question was along the rails to the last stop of this rail line, Clover town. They had boarded a train that was meant for Clover but was canceled due to the situation, from what the job description said, a Goblin and a Vulcan have blockaded the tracks and have demanded sweets as a ransom. Kihia sighed and turned towards the Vacant seat infront of him across the table, aside from the crew of the train, he and Verona were the only two on board, but the train had a rear engine so they can back track and get passengers as soon as the railway was cleared.

However his main worry was the fact Verona was nowhere to be found, he knew she was on the train somewhere, but had lost track of her shortly after the train started to move, he sighed one more time and took a tip of his tea he had been working on for the entire trip. "I hope she didn't fall out of the train... if she somehow had gotten lost..."

What on earth was she doing in this thing? Why on earth was she in this moving evil thing? Verona kept asking herself, leaning forward in front of a toilet in the ladies' room section of the huge train she and Kihia boarded not too long ago. The deep pink haired girl was barely holding herself up, her face incredibly blue as she looked like she was going to throw up again. What was she thinking? She knew the moment Kihia dragged her into this thing that she wouldn't be able to keep a leash on herself or her motion sickness. Although, in her defense, it could be said that she had no other choice. It wasn't like she could sprout wings out of nowhere and fly, right? Oh how she wished she could.

Breathing rather heavily, Verona finally leaned back, resting the back of her head against the door and inhaled deeply. It wasn't just the feeling of wanting to throw up every minute. It was also the fact that she had a massive headache and God help any unfortunate soul she would have to fight that day. They won't get far without a few burns, those poor things. Huh. Dark fumes came off of the laughing girl, closely resembling a mad scientist and unintentionally, gaining attention of others who were in the ladies' room outside the cubicle.

A few minutes later, she was dragging herself to where she believed Kihia would be. She could already imagine the big genius who wanted to take the train, sitting upright like a noble, sipping tea from some chinaware as she struggled to keep her knees from shaking. She had no doubt that the guy was already looking for her and having weird assumptions either. If he wasn't someone she respected well and her condition wasn't helping her very much, he would have already gotten a really good piece of her mind.

Kihia pushed is cup of tea of to the side and got up, She has definitely taken to long… He stepped out of the booth and looked toward his left, to the front of the train seeing nothing out of the ordinary he turned to face the other direction and froze. His right eyebrow twitched repeatedly for a few minutes, a anime teardrop forming on his head as he saw Verona, trying her best to crawl on the ground and evidentially reach their seats. She looked sick, not to mention a shade of blue that rivaled a blueberry. Kihia stood there for a long moment to shocked to do anything until he finally snapped out of it and walked over and knelt down beside her. “Verona… whats wrong?... did you have a breakfast that went bad this morning…?” He was completely oblivious to what was wrong, and who could blame him, he didn’t know her magic, or any issues she might have.

Kihia extended out his right hand in an offer to help her try and stand, although Kihia wasn’t sure if going on with this job would be a good idea, especially if Verona was sick and wouldn’t be able to fight.

Verona's left eye visibly twitched, her eyes fixed deadly on the face of the very man she had been looking for. Her lips quivered uncontrollably and her pink orbs glared daggers at the ice demon slayer in front of her. This man! This man was the sole reason she was in the predicament from the beginning and all he cared about was what she ate that day?! Was he that clueless even after seeing her crawl on the ground like a slug? Her trembling hands pushed off the ground and reached for his collar. "You! This is all your fault!" She roared, forgetting the fact that she was talking to her guild's ace for a minute. But just as she was going to continue, she felt something moving in her stomach again and her cheeks puffed out, her face turning blue all over again.

What was she going to do now? She couldn't move a finger without feeling the need for throwing up. This was the worst part of her magic that she actually hated. Sure she could keep herself up but it was merely thanks to her will which was starting to crumble with each passing second. And then it happened. She fell limp on the white haired man, anime style swirls for eyes as she started mumbling incoherent things about her magic.

Kihia stood there confused at Verona’s accusation when suddenly she evidently gotten another wave of nausea and collapsed, Kihia however caught her and thus preventing her from hitting her head on the ground or nearby booths. He sighed and gently picked her up and walked over to the booth he had been sitting at and placed her down gently on the other side, he then took his seat again and took another sip of his tea, How is it my fault she had a bad breakfast I wonder… Oblivious as always Kihia would remain silent the rest of the trip as they headed towards their destination.

An hour later the train had stopped and Kihia grabbed Icarus and disembarked, not before giving the train conductor the instructions he would need to know when the job was done. Kihia stepped onto the ground and stretched a bit, “That wasn’t that bad of a ride…” He started to walk towards the location reported in the job description when he stopped and looked back, “I hope Verona has gotten better from her upset stomach… Wouldn’t want her to miss out on the job we are doing…” Kihia stood there for a moment and then sheathed Icarus and sighed, as much as he learned from Iarok, he never took on the practice of healing others, so he had little knowledge how to treat a stomach ache, unfortunately for him and Verona.

Verona was finally jumping with joy. The train had stopped! It had stopped! It had actually stopped! Still! Motionless! Immobile! Static! Inert! Oh how happy she was. She can finally glare at Kihia without being scared of throwing up on him. She stepped out of the train and literally fell to the ground and snuggled with it, her cheek rubbing against the tiled floor of the platform with a content sigh. She seemed unaware of the people passing by and giggling at her but she knew and had merely chose to ignore them. Well, that was until she felt someone tap the back of her head. Verona found a child, probably five years old, wearing warm clothes, staring at her as if she was the strangest thing the child had come across in the planet. And she probably was.

"Big sis, why are you hugging the floor? It's dirty!" she scolded the older girl in her childish voice which made Verona sat up on her heels. "Uhm I uh...Big sis was hugging the earth! That's right! She was hugging this wonderful planet that gives her water and food and whatever else! Haha!" Verona declared, looking anywhere but into the child's face. And then she was up and zooming past her, leaving the child back to gaze at the spot where Verona once had been.

It took her a while to find Kihia's white shirt. She knew it was him because she couldn't think of any other person besides her that would dress up in white on a sunny day. Her eyes narrowed at him and within a second, she was charging at him. Everything besides Kihia's back was a blur to the girl. And when she reached a certain point, she jumped on him, attaching herself to his back like a small monkey. "How dare you leave me alone back there?! You! You were the reason I got sick in the first place and you left me back there!" she yelled into his ears and kicked her legs. That would teach him never to get her on a moving train again!

Kihia was walking along the dirt tracks when suddenly Verona came out of nowhere and jumped onto his back knocking him off balance, as she yelled into his ear and kicked at him, he danced around as he tried to regain his balance, and prevent them from falling off the bridge. “Verona will you calm down and stop blaming me for something I had nothing to do with…. Now if you are still feeling under the whether I will gladly carry you the rest of the way to the blockade…” Whether or not she would say yes or no Kihia would start to walk towards the reported location.

Kihia walked along the bridge stepping between each of the track trusses, even when a strong wind gusted across the tracks he stood strong, then after a few minutes off walking he spotted what seemed to be a large rock spire off in the distance that was laid on the tracks. He then focused his magic power around his forehead and said, “Visor of the Ice Angel…” An ice visor formed across his eyes as It started to show numerous figures, “I have spotted the blockade… it is about 150 meters away from our current location…”

Verona was feeling more than fine. But she wasn't going to pass up on a free ride on his back either. Hey! Can't blame the girl. It was hot and it would be a pain to walk under that weather! "That's right! You must carry me! You should have known from the beginning, you old man! I'm a Dragon Slayer! Dragon Slayers hate moving things! Especially when we are on them!" she kept complaining next to his ear, making sure he heard every single word. And then, she stopped kicking and just started holding onto him quietly, which was so rare that it even surprised herself.

They walked for a while before stopping a little far away from a big rock spire. Then all she heard was Kihia mumbling something and a visor formed around his forehead. The curious girl raised an eyebrow at it and even poked it till she heard the rest of what Kihia had to say. He had spotted the blockade apparently, and even had managed to give her the exact distance between them and their target. That was a pretty good Visor he had.

She jumped off of him in a moment, landing behind him on the ground. "So what are we waiting for exactly?" she asked, wondering why they stopped 150m away from the blockade. Having said that, the pink haired girl shrugged and then started moving forward, not really understanding why they were being cautious. Cautious was never a word in her dictionary, after all.

'Monster Dice' :

Kihia paused for a moment when Verona had said she was a Dragon slayer, and the fact Dragon slayers don’t get along with anything that moves on their own accord. “Well I guess that explains why Ukan didn’t want to get on the train….” Kihia then heard Verona’s question about what they were waiting on, he lifted up the visor and looked down the tracks, “We stopped because we could of taken a moment to form a plan…” Kihia then started to channel his magical power throughout his body… “I will draw any enemies attention down there… Ice Angel’s Torai…” A unique skating system formed on his body, and then he took off down the tracks the Torai skating system pushing air through its acceleration ports forming a gust behind Kihia.

Within a second he arrived at the rock spire as two goblins jumped up and swung two clubs at his head. He quickly reacted by ducking down and sliding across the ground. He then jumped up, as his right fist started to glow, he then landed, aiming a direction this spell wouldn’t hit anyone or anything he threw his punch, ‘Supreme fist of the Frozen Angel….” A giant flash of bright light erupted from his hand and flew through the air, barely missing the two goblins, making them both faint, but not hitting anyone or anything in the process.

Verona's right eye visibly twitched when she found Kihia zooming past her. He must have gone off on his own with a plan. But, in Verona's brain, it all registered under one big challenge and she took off, running after the white haired man. But, as much as she wanted to overtake him, the guy was faster than him and she barely managed to keep up with him thanks to her will alone. By the time she had reached the blockade, Kihia was standing in front of two pink furry things with dots on them and she blinked, wondering if they were the "goblins" their request talked about.

"When they say things come in all shapes and sizes, they really weren't kidding, huh?" half serious, half joking, Verona slowly walked over to the small goblins, picked up one of their sticks up and proceeded to poke one with it. They didn't move, but to her surprise, they let out a small, sickeningly cute, mewl which made her right eye twitch again. The weirdness of it will never be forgotten. "So that's it? Was that supposed to be our challenge?" she asked the ice demon slayer behind her, all the while continuing to poke the pink things.

Kihia watched as Verona started to poke one of the two goblins that had fainted from the sheer fright from witnessing a massive blast that almost hit them. He narrowed his eyes and then looked at the giant spire behind them, “Those Goblin’s couldn’t have moved this rock spire here by themselves… What would have…” Kihia suddenly stopped mid-sentence when a giant hand reached up and grab the edge of the bridge, as it pulled up the massive frame of a Vulcan up along the edge of the train bridge., “OOooow, Where is my candy I demanded!” Kihia turned to look at the Vulcan both of his fists starting to glow, “Doing something like this just for candy… is truly despicable…” He then turned towards the giant Vulcan and drew back both his fists, the air around him getting chillier by the minute… Kihia then dashed forward executing an upward kick against the Vulcans jaw sending him upward, he then spun around and thrust both his fists forward and unleashed a powerful dual blast of holy cryogenic energy that sent out wintery winds all directions. The Vulcan was blown upward, and had its chest frozen over in a layer of ice as it flew upward.

'Monster Dice' :

Verona didn't notice the giant vulcan behind her till it spoke. She turned her head to look at it and was going to move out of the way when she felt Kihia charge past her. She didn't have to lift a single finger and the Vulcan was already crying in pain. But what came towards her as a result of Kihia's spell made her drop the goblin she was holding up and fall to the ground, holding her ears as something started hammering her head. It was so painful. It felt like something was starting to rip her head apart. And then everything changed in front of her.

Suddenly, everything was blue and white. Suddenly, she was staring at the back of two adults. They were talking about something and one of them turned to her with a cheerful voice. It was blurry but she could make out the smile on the woman's face. She told her something...something Verona could neither hear or understand. And just as it came, it went back. She was back in the place she was, staring at the back of Kihia.

"H-House of shield....Avoa..." she muttered under her breath, two things that suddenly rushed into her head with no reason. She didn't know why she said what she did either. She just did and it was making her head hurt more than before.

Kihia flew up a bit and then turned around mid-air to face the Vulcan, who quickly recovered and launched himself right at Kihia, reeling back one of his massive fists to try and hit Kihia. His necklace jingled a bit as if answering to some unknown call. A Ring of ice formed around Kihia as he drew a fist back, “May my Shield of ice block any blow and my Freezing blast counter any blow against the shield… Frozen Angel’s Reactive Shield…” He thrust his fist into the center of the opening of the ring as the ring transformed into a shield of ice. As the Vulcan’s fist impacted the shield of ice, the shield held firm as it began to glow, the Vulcan’s face contorted in confusion, then suddenly a giant flash of cryogenic light enveloped the entire Vulcan and a few cliffs down below, the Vulcan flew off back towards the ground as Kihia’s ice shield shattered with him returning to the rail way.

“Verona… do you think you can weaponize thise spire…” Without waiting for a response he walked over and put his hands underneath it. He then gritted his teeth as he started to try and lift the massive spire, it barely moved, then if finally dislodged from the spot it hand been place and Kihia lifted it up above himself and turned to face where the Vulcan had landed.

To the side, Verona stood up, holding her head. She groaned, wishing for the pain in her head to go away and looked up to find Kihia doing all the work. If it was any other time, she would have rushed to him and told him to stop doing everything by himself. But, with her head hurting like it had been hit, she just couldn't find the energy to march over to Kihia and take on the vulcan herself. A few minutes later, the pain in her head went down and Verona finally let her head go. By the time that happened, Kihia was standing in front of her while holding up the spire.

She sighed as she heard Kihia's request. The vulcan already looked like it was going to faint. But she had to do something, right? Thus, she did what she was always good at doing, putting things into fire. She lit a small fire in her right palm before thrusting it forward and throwing the fire towards the spire. As it made contact, the fire started burning wildly, quickly spreading all over the spire. She knew it wouldn't hurt Kihia much though she couldn't make any promises about the poor vulcan.

Kihia nodded as Verona lit the entire spire on fire, he then looked at the Vulcan who was glaring up at them from the canyon floor below, “You don’t make a fool out of me, I make a fool out of you fools and get my Candy!” Kihia looked down at the Vulcan with some degree of pity on his face, “Vulcans are typically proud beasts of their environment… with the capability of foraging for themselves and not needing to steal from others…” He then lifted the Spire back and threw the spire towards the Vulcan.

The spire flew through the air and crashed into the Vulcan, exploding into a firey inferno mixed in with super-heated rock. Kihia watched and made sure the Vulcan wasn’t getting up from that. He nodded and turned around to Verona, forming a ice flare gun in his hand, he then pointed up into the sky and pulled the trigger. A ball of magical power erupted from the flare gun and flew high into the air, it shown brightly, being able to be seen for miles. Kihia watched the flare for a moment then turned to Verona and nodded her direction, “I hope you are ready for the ride back…”
