(I will personally proctor this exam! Have fuuuuuun!)

Deniel went up to the very top of the Main Hall of Eclipse Soul, to Zeno's office. Deniel had never been inside of it before as a member, and this was going to be his first time in the office as the new Guild Master. From his pocket, Deniel took out the card that opened the door to the office, and let out a deep breath from his mouth. "Here goes nothing..." He said as he held up the card to the door. Immediately both the door and the card glowed, and it opened up for him. Deniel stepped inside of the office, and his mouth opened wide with awe. Usually an office is something that's to be imagined as a very small room with just a desk and maybe a window, but Zeno's office was far from that. It was like a penthouse. There was a desk, of course. However, there was also a couch, several bookshelves, a table, and so much more. Deniel could barely take it all in. "Woooooah. And I've been living in a cave this whole time!?" Deniel brought that whole cave thing on himself, but he had no idea Zeno's office was a place like this. The first thing he did was run and jump on the couch, and lie into it, almost childishly. He curled up and enjoyed the soft feel to it. "Ahhhh...this feels good." Deniel got off of the couch and looked around the room a little more.

After searching, he came back to the couch, but put his hand under it. Usually there were very interesting things under a couch. Deniel's hand scanned around for something, and suddenly he grabbed on to something that felt...very odd. He raised his eyebrow and gave a weird look, and brought it out. It looked like...a staff of some kind. It had some spikes on the side of it, and an arcane crystal on the tip. It was very small, only about five inches long, with a handle that had enough room for only one hand. Deniel flipped it over, up-side-down, and looked at about every inch of it. Eventually he pointed it at a wall to see what it did. The crystal on the tip of the small staff, pretty much a wand, glowed, and then shot out a blast of purple Arcane Energy. It hit the wall, but did absolutely nothing. There was no effect. Deniel shot it several times around the wall, and eventually around the room. He concluded that the wand did absolutely nothing, but he could definitely scare some people with it. With a mischievious grin and chuckle, Deniel made his way out of Zeno's office, and down a couple of floors on the main hall. The very first person he found was Venir, who had her back turned to him.

"Hey Venir, look at this!" He pointed the staff at her and shot out the blast of energy. Since he thought it didn't do anything, he didn't expect anything to happen to her. But boy was he wrong....

    Ven's C to B Exam Empty Re: Ven's C to B Exam

Post by Mistress Venir 23rd February 2015, 5:57 pm

Venir had slept for days straight after her most recent mission with Katherine. While she had initially collapsed in the guildhall at some point someone had moved the pinkette into her room. It was highly unnatural for Venir to sleep so much, even if she did particularly enjoy sleeping.  The only way to explain her prolonged unconsciousness was simply because of the hefty amount of caffeine that Katherine had accidentally given her. After days of rest, her body seemed to be back to normal after ingesting such lethal amounts of caffeine. In fact the bikini clad mage was starving after having not eaten for days, which was why she was in the guild hall patiently waiting for some food.

At the sound of Deniel's voice the mage spun on her heel to face the new guild master. It was odd for him to be speaking to her, the two not communicating much after their one mission, his sudden appointment to guild master only making it harder for her to speak to him. She hadn't really spoken to the previous guild master before and had no idea what sort of protocol she should have with guild masters, which made her feel more or less awkward around Deniel. "Huh?" She asked green eyes widening in surprise not at the fact that Deniel was actually talking to her but rather she was surprised at what he had just done. The dark haired man was holding a staff that the mage had never seen before and worst of all he had shot something at her. The little ball of energy moved much to fast for Venir to dodge it so much to her dismay she took the hit head on...Only it didn't hurt when it hit her right in the stomach...If anything it seemed to absorb itself into her.

"What was that for!?" Venir called out to her guild master, mildly surprised that he'd actually shoot something at her. "You know you could've seriously hurt-" Her sentence was cut short as she fell to her knee's clutching where she was hit with shaking hands. Where she was hit was burning, causing the mage to gasp for breath. Her head was pounding, heart racing, something within her stirring to life. Like a chain snapping, a sudden burst of energy came from the shaking girl, the sudden release caused an explosion of sorts pushing back chairs and tables. It was not her own magic, the purple magic circle beneath her only emphasizing that fact. If anything it seemed to be the same kind of magic that she had absorbed from the hit, all of it rushing out at once spiraling up into the air. The glowing purple energy did not dissipate but instead it condensed, rushing around the Eclipse Soul member forming a cocoon of sorts. Venir was no longer visible, nor could she be reached at that point...

The ball of energy that had the mage inside of it floated up into the air, the magic circle pulsing beneath it. The ball remained there for a few moments before the dark purple energy rippled and changed in color becoming light and lighter, until it stopped at an almost pinkish color. Then like that the bubble burst, a shower of pink magical energy scattering to the ground and out of that bubble came a being that was not the same as what had entered it....

    Ven's C to B Exam Prisma11

A young girl, with light blonde almost platinum hair emerged, a small smile graced her lips and her eyes were closed. The only word that could describe that particular girl was cute. Whether it was the pink frilly outfit, the small blush, the childish pose, or the fact that one could almost see sparkles and stars surrounding her, the girl was undoubtedly cute and most certainly not the adult bikini wearing mage. As her feet touched the ground, the magic circle dissipated with a flash of energy. Still smiling the girl opened her eyes, revealing them to be crimson colored, which seemed almost odd with her child like appearance but somehow it only enhanced her other worldly look. "Ah! Finally! That was just the right amount of energy I needed to get released!" Her voice had a birdlike quality to it, almost enchanting. That was when the young girl took notice of the fact that she was not alone. Tilting her head to the side, ruby eyes gazing at the familiar stranger, she spoke once more, "Wait! I know you, your...."She closed her eyes in thought.

Deniel almost immediately burst out laughing. "Hahahahahah! AAAAAAH! HAHAHAHAHAHAH!" He gripped his stomach from how much he was laughing, and almost fell to the floor. Her reaction was just priceless. It seemed like something threatening was happening to her, and it turned out to be nothing at all. Suddenly, from his laughter, he heard a gasp for breath. His obnoxious noises of pleasure immediately stopped, and he looked straight at Venir. She was clutching her stomach in pain, and then purple magic began to radiate from her. It looked almost exactly like the one that shot out from the rod. Deniel looked at it with his eyes wide with awe, and then back at Venir. "Ohhh.....SHIT!" Deniel dropped the wand and rushed to Venir, about to pick her up or at least see if she was okay, until a ball surrounded her. Deniel stopped in his tracks, and didn't hold out his hand. He saw what this stuff did to a person, he didn't need to see what it did to him. He took a few steps back from her, and looked down at the ground at the wand for a second. He picked it up and held it in his hands. His fake heart pulse was racing, and was immediately feeling guilty about what just happened. He was in sort of a panic mode, but still tried to remain as calm as he could. It was pretty hard to do, seeing as how he might have just done something really bad to one of his guildmates. It wouldn't have been AS bad if he wasn't the new guild master.

Suddenly, the ball was no more, and there was a little girl standing there. Deniel blinked several times, completely silent. He tilted his head to the side, just as the little girl did. she seemed to know him. Deniel's heart was still racing, but he appeared calm on the inside. He didn't know what was going on, and he wasn't going to try and figure out a solution until he knew as much as he could. "Excuse me, little girl...what's your name?"

The dark haired man certainly looked familiar to the young girl. Crimson stared into equally crimson eyes for a moment. Then like that something clicked in the young girls head, a fleeting memory at best but it was enough to cause her to let out a yelp before dashing behind a turned over table for cover. Once mostly hidden behind the table the girl pointed an accusing gloved hand at the man, "You-You're a murderer!" The fleeting memory was fuzzy at best and the circumstances weren't clear but it was a memory of sorts. "You-You killed that one man!" It was a fuzzy image of Deniel killing the summoner but it was one of the only memories to pop itself into her head.

The young girl remained behind the table, peering over the edge warily at the Eclipse Soul guild master. That was when she heard his question, "Ah that's easy! My name is Ven-" The girl cut herself off looking down almost confused, "No wait.... That's not quite right..." She mumbled her gaze shifting downwards, a hand pressing itself to her tremple obviously confused. "I have no idea who I am." She whispered almost worried at her lack of memory. "Wait! Why does it matter to you!?" The petite blonde decided that instead of worrying about her lack of knowledge she ought to worry about the man in front of her. However, the man had yet to do anything harmful to her despite her dark memory of him. In fact it seemed as if he knew her or something?

Post by Decayuss 23rd February 2015, 9:13 pm

Deniel wasn't a genius, but he definitely wasn't an idiot either. Besides, it didn't take a genius to figure out what Venir was going to say next. So all the want really did was take her back in time a bit. Deniel tilted his head to the side and observed the little girl. It definitely didn't seem like a blonde innocent girl was going to grow up to be a bikini-wering pinkette like the Venir he knew was. That chain lead Deniel to another part of his thoughts: how much had the wand affected her? Was she still as strong as she was before? It was highly unlikely, but he could be surprised. And what about her magic? Deniel needed to test these things out. He might either have lost himself a guild member, or simply changed the look of one. He gave the wand a look, and then back at the child. She had some of Venir's memories, from the oen job that they had earlier, but she didn't scream and run just yet. Although she seemed kind of suspicious of him. Deniel held up one hand, and got down on one knee as well so he could do his best to bring himself down to Venir's height...which was even shorter than before. "Listen, Venir: I'm not here to hurt you. I'm not here to kill you. I don't know what just happened to you, but that's what I'm about to find out. First I need some time to think. So here's what I want you to do: meet me in the Training Tower in ten minutes. If you don't know where it is...ask someone. I need to think."

Without another word, Deniel got off of his knee and walked back up the steps. He headed back to his office, and closed the door behind him. He took a deep breath and dropped down to both of his knees. He stared at the wand one last time, and then threw it straight under the couch. Deniel needed time to think, definitely. This was quite a weird, and perhaps a serious situation. But from past experience, the best way to deal with these was with a cool head, and a bit of thinking. So Deniel sat down on the couch inside of Zeno's office, and began to think. For in a while, he would have to join Venir in the training tower. But for now, he needed to asses the situation and think of possible solutions and outcomes. "Oh jeez..."

    Ven's C to B Exam Empty Re: Ven's C to B Exam

Post by Mistress Venir 23rd February 2015, 9:40 pm

When Deniel approached her Ven visibly shrunk away from him. Despite Deniel being on the somewhat skinny side it didn't change the fact that he was still larger than her, and was more than a little imposing. Tears were already forming in her red eyes as the man approached, her hands gripping the hem of her skirt shakily. She didn't have the common sense to run or perhaps she was just frozen in place. Standing at just barely 4"5 the height difference between the two was staggering, Ven having to crane her neck just to look up at the man. However, when he got down a knee the girl relaxed slightly seeing as they were now at about the same height. She listened to him, trying to blink away the tears that had appeared in her ruby like eyes. At least it seemed that she believed him when he said he didn't want to harm her, but it wasn't like she had any other choice. At the current point in time the only memories in which the blonde could recall was that of the man in front of her, on top of that he was the first to interact with her. So like a baby bird, all she could do was listen and watch as the man stalked away. "Wait don't leave me!" By then though the guild master was gone leaving the memory-less child behind. "The training tower!" She muttered and glanced about warily. No one else had appeared in the hall as of yet leaving the young girl alone....

    ~*~

After aimlessly wandering around, the child had managed to find the training tower. While, she had spotted a few people along the way she was quick to hide from them and far to shy to ask for help. If the guild members noticed her or not it was hard to say. All that mattered was that somehow, someway she had found herself in the training tower. Since, Deniel had yet to arrive the girl sat herself down right in the center of the room, knee's tucked up into her chest. "This place is so big." She murmured quietly, of course Eclipse Soul seemed to be incredibly large to the small girl. It wasn't just because of her size that the entire place seemed so big, it was also because of her lack of memory which meant that this place so far was the only place she knew.

"Hmmmmmm....."She hummed in thought once again trying to recall who or what she was. "The energy requirement to break the lock....."She spoke out loud, voice echoing in the empty training tower, "I know that the energy needed was meant and that I was locked away but after that...."It was becoming almost painful to try and think back any further so with an exasperated sigh the young girl let her back hit the floor. "Ah geez why can't I remember anything!?" The young girl whined as she lay on the floor.

Deniel turned to his only source of advice that he could truly count on, his sword. Deniel had the blade at his side the entire time, but didn't take any notice to it from him being in such a panic. Deniel abruptly stood up, and quickly took out the sheathed blade from where it was hanging at his side. "Nidhogg...what's your take on all of this?" The sword was silent for several moments, before Deniel could hear the sword clear its non-existant throat. "Ahem! ...My take? You're an idiot." It was those few words, and then complete silence. Deniel shook the sword to see if he could get it to say more, but nothing came out of it. He let out an irritated sigh, and then smacked his forehead. He was all on his own for this one. So Deniel sat down, on the floor this time, and crossed both of his legs. He closed both of his red eyes, and let his breath go silent. Very, very silent. And he was absolutely still.

    ~.~

"Ah jeez why can't I remember anything?"

A huge creaking noise could be heard at the far end of the room, as the doors to the massive training hall were being opened. A shadowy figure stood in the light of outside, and it could easily be identified as Deniel. The height and figure were plenty, and the shape of his clothes, particularly his coat, is what could give it away. Deniel walked towards Venir, and was no longer panicked. His facial expression was calm, collected, and relaxed. He showed no signs of worry, fear, or regret towards anything. He couldn't believe what he was about to do. It was probably one of the harshest things he had ever done, and it was even worse that it was to a little girl. What he was about to say might have been a little harsh, but he needed to take risks to gain greater rewards. "Get up and fight. NOW! I may have just lost a guild member, and gained a useless little girl instead. Prove me wrong. Impress me enough, and I might let you stay in the guild. Otherwise, you're useless to me!"

    Ven's C to B Exam Empty Re: Ven's C to B Exam

Post by Mistress Venir 24th February 2015, 9:49 pm

At the sound of the door creaking open, Venir tilted her head back to look at who was approaching her. Once the figure revealed itself to be Deniel the girl scrambled up to her feet. It was almost as if she was happy to see him considering he was the only familiar face. "You came back!" She beamed, brushing the dust off her skirt. Somewhere deep in her mind she had worried that the strange man had simply just left her there on her own, but of course she would never voice that fear aloud. Her small smile dropped at the sound of his voice and more importantly at his words. The beginnings of any kind feelings of friendship for the man was effectively stomped into the ground with each word that passed his lips.

Yet instead of becoming angry or retorting back, the small blonde couldn't help but stand there and take it. Before long tears were brimming in her red eyes, desperately trying to stop them from spilling over. Then the sniffles and trembling began, before long she couldn't stop the tears from falling. Deniel had just made a memorlyess child cry... Rubbing furiously at her eyes, somewhere deep in her empty head she realized that she had to do something. It was just an inkling of a feeling but it was enough for her to know that she simply could not stand there and cry. "If I'm forced to leave then how will I figure out who I am?" After all the only memories she had were vague thoughts and a fuzzy image of the man in front of her. Which meant that he must have had some sort of lead or knew of others who might know who she is. While the girl sniffled, looking at the ground trying to figure out what to do a sudden sense of hopefulness washed over her. "How do I prove I'm not worthless?" Despite her crimson eyes still watery with unfallen tears, the young girl looked up almost determined.

"I don't like to fight." She muttered, her bird like voice trembling, "But sometimes you need to fight to help fulfill your dreams!" With a flash of energy a staff of sorts had appeared in front of her, a star in its center and white wings on either side of the star. Gently the staff fell into her hands as if it were made to do so. It was an odd feeling holding the strange object in her hands. It felt so familiar yet foreign, but oddly enough she had a vague idea of how to use it. She had no idea how or why but the vague idea was there and she considered it a blessing. "I'll try not to hurt you!" It wasn't meant to be cocky or anything of that nature, it seemed as if she was genuinely worried about hurting Deniel.

Deniel stood there in silence. He had his left hand on the same side of his hips that his sheathed sword dangled from, his left one. He was awaiting an attack from her, but he got something else instead. Instead of some form of attack through magic or even a physical object, he got tears instead. Now he felt guilty. Deniel tried to look away as tears came out of the little girl's eyes, but kept on staring. The very least he could do was resist his urge to take back what he said, or speak comfort to her. He wasn't exactly proud of what he did, but he couldn't afford to take it back. So all he did was sit there, watching her, and cringing on the inside of what was going on. He could feel his skin crawl in hatred for himself. However, on the outside he looked calm, and serious. He remained still, and his facial expression was unchanged. He had to try as hard as he could to ignore the task at hand, and go with what he had originally planned. Deniel was tempted to say something mean again so she could at least get a move-on, but that wasn't really the best idea right now. Eventually her tears of sadness had ceased, and he finally heard some fighting words out of her. Deniel raised his right hand, and reached it over to his left hip. He placed his hand on his blade's hilt, and expected something out of her once again. And once again, he didn't get anything. She summoned a weapon, but didn't use it just yet. The frown on his face became much more intense, and he took his hand off of his sword.

She needed an example of what she was dealing with. However, the last thing he wanted to do was bring down the training tower. So Deniel raised his right hand up to the sky, and underneath hsi glove, at the back of his hand, his guild mark began to glow brightly. The arcane crystals within the walls began to grow as well, and then they began to materialize and shape themselves into other objects. Eventually the battlefield began to manifest and take a clear shape and form. They were on a barren, sandy wasteland, with many pillars of solid rock surrounding them. Deniel had made sure they were there on purpose. The sun was above their heads, and bright, and slight gusts of wind blew back. Deniel's coat blew back along with the wind, and that's when he finally made a move.

In a single move, and seemingly an instant, he drew the blade from its scabbard, and cut the air in front of him. At first nothing happened, until one of the rocks had a glint of it, and suddenly was split in half. Deniel didn't even physically hit it, and instead used the pressure from his attack to split the rock in half. "In other words: don't hold back. I doubt you'll hurt me. But if you don't shape up right now...I CAN'T GUARANTEE THE SAME FOR YOU!"

    Ven's C to B Exam Empty Re: Ven's C to B Exam

Post by Mistress Venir 25th February 2015, 7:35 pm

"Huh?" Crimson glanced around as the scenery changed. It was unlike anything she had ever seen before or at least considering the fact that she had little to no memory to start off with. A sudden gust of wind, picking the sand up, made her squint her eyes. The wind pushed back her blonde hair, her white cape with two crosses dangling on either side of it getting blown back as well. Fascinated by her new surroundings the young girl almost didn't notice that Deniel was transported with her. "Ah!" She squeaked out at the shattering of the rock. "He-He didn't even hit it!" The girl stared at the rock, shock written across her face. "How am I supposed to go against something like that!?!?" Ven visibly stood in awe for a few more moments before turning to gaze at Deniel. Even with that display of power it wasn't like she could back down, it was against her nature to give up and even if she were to where would she go next? Besides he had promised earlier that he wasn't going to kill her, perhaps it wasn't her best to choice to believe in a man who she had a vivid memory of him killing someone, but she had a rather overly trusting nature.

"Here we go." She mumbled glancing down at the staff before pointing it at Deniel. Only nothing happened. "Huh?" She waved the pink stick around, pointing it at him again and again. No awesome explosions, slices of air, or even sparkles popped out of the staff. "WHAT IS THIS EVEN USED FOR!?" She finally yelled at the staff, she had a feeling that she was able to shoot stuff from it but the girly pink winged object seemed to want no part in its masters wishes. "What do you even do!?" She asked again as if the staff might respond. Glancing between the staff and Deniel, Ven laughed almost nervously, "Just a moment please?". At that moment another gust of wind picked up, her gloved hands went to hold down her skirt so she didn't go flashing anyone. When the gust died down the girl seemed almost confused her hand still gripping her skirt. "What's this?" Lifting the hem of the skirt up slightly, on her upper thigh was a garter belt with a holster of sorts attached to it. Opening up the holster the girl pulled out a...card?

    Card:

Glancing down at the card in her trembling white hand another wave of familiarity washed over her. "I-I..."In an almost practiced moment the girl extended the staff away from her body, pointing it at Deniel once more. Her other hand held up the card. With the way she held it the guild master would only be able to see the back of the card, that had an ancient looking magic circle on the back. The card itself looked well used, and the image on the front was fading but Venir was still able to clearly read the words "The shot" written on it as well as see the faded image on the card. Her body moving using muscle memory she held up the card, still only showing the back to Deniel. "I-I..." The word was trying to form itself on her tongue but her empty head was trying to recall just what that word was, "Include!"

    Ven's C to B Exam Kdcw_k10

Both staff and card glowed with pink energy. The card floated up from her hand moving over to the staff before seemingly dissolving into the staff. "Aim!" She realigned the staff, her aim sure. The golden star in the center released a magic circle of sorts, energy gathering in the center of that circle. "Shoot!" The pink energy shot forth like a bullet at Deniel. The attack itself was more or less harmless to someone like Deniel but it at least showed that the girl had some sort of grasp on her magic now.

Deniel was more or less amused with her reaction. A smirk developed across his face, and a very devilish chuckle could be heard coming from him. After showing off what kind of power lurked within his scrawny body, Deniel spun his blade backwards and sheathed it back inside of the scabbard. Now hopefully Venir could realize just what exactly she was dealing with, and that could perhaps entice her to be much more serious about this. Deniel tensed up his body and muscles when she pointed the staff at him. His scowl darkened for a second, and he could feel his body tense...but nothing happened. He immediately loosened himself up, and didn't say a thing. He just stood there, almost motionless. His stern look didn't change a bit, but inside of his mind, he was almost crying with how pathetic this was. She doesn't even know how it works! Goddamnit, why didn't Zeno have an instruction manual as to how these stupid artifacts work!? I wouldn't be in this mess now... Just as Deniel was finishing his thoughts, which was his way of pulling off a facepalm, she seemed to have found something. She pulled out a card, and it wasn't the kind of card that Deniel had that gave him permission to enter Zeno's office, no. It was something else. Deniel squinted his red eyes, but she was showing the back of it to him. He grunted, but it didn't matter to him. No matter what she was doing, he knew he could handle it. He waited moment by moment, watching her struggle to use some kind of card with a wand.

At last, when she said 'include', it looked like things were looking brighter than they were before. Perhaps she could be use to Deniel once more, and perhaps she could finally regain her memories as to what she was trying to do. Deniel braced his body once more, waiting for something flashy, at the very least. However, he was once again disappointed. He could see it coming, but he couldn't say that he felt it. A small pink bullet-like piece of magical energy hit him right in the shoulder, but he couldn't say that it hurt, much less he felt it. He glanced down at his shoulder, and then back up at her. A growl was heard coming from his throat as he reached to his katana's hilt once more. He had nearly reached the end of this patience with this little girl. Venir was capable of something much more than this. And as it stood it looked like the girl was useless to Deniel. However, before he grabbed on to the hilt, he stopped his hand and thought everything over again. He let out what almost sounded like an exhausted, but exasperated sigh. He moved his hand away from her, and didn't do anything. "Try again, or try something else."

Her expression clearly said she wanted praise, as most children often want when they just accomplished something. However, she did not receive a single ounce of praise from her guild master. She tried to do the same move once again but met with the same results, clearly this level of magic would not do against someone like Deniel. Sighing the girl had no choice but to try something else he had suggested initially. "Please be something good!" For good measure she pulled out three cards.

    Le Cards:

"This one looks different than the others!" Grabbing the peculiar card she inspected it for a moment, making sure to keep its identity hidden from her opponent. Upon the card unlike the others there was a human depicted on it, looking almost similar to herself, beneath it read the word 'Saber'. Even the back of the card was different having completely different runes and pentagram on its back. When the blonde went to include the card on her staff once more it seemed to not do as it was told. "Oh come on I've already embarrassed myself once!" The girl didn't want to continue looking like a complete idiot so she decided to put that particular card away and try another. Only just as the card was about to be slipped away it brushed against the fabric of her skirt. Another magic circle appeared beneath her feet, the feeling was familiar and once again muscle memory seemed to take over. "Install!" She murmured placing the card upon the ground, the circle seeming to pulse at the contact. Then like that the card dispersed into energy that surrounded the girl's body similar to how she had initially appeared in front of Deniel. White and glowing it covered her completely hiding her from view. Until finally the energy dispersed revealing the same girl from before but her magic seemed different than before.

    A sudden change:

Venir was still undeniable cute in the white and black dress, her platinum hair in a pony tail to match. The only thing that seemed to throw off that sense of cuteness was the steel gauntlets on her arms and legs, and the strange determination in her eyes. "Include!" She placed the card labeled 'the sword' upon the girly staff that seemed almost awkward in her somewhat armored state. The staff glowed as its form shifted into that of a sword much like the image on its card. Under normal circumstances the girl was not a good swordsman but the sudden transformation made the blade seem more than natural in her hands, though it was hard to say if she was capable of competing against a swordsman like Deniel. "That card contained magic, no not just magic, it contained idea's, lessons, and teachings on how to handle a sword and sword based magic." Venir thought to herself as she pointed the sword at Deniel, almost intimidating despite her stature and general appearance. "Let's see how this knowledge fairs against him." She didn't dare let the beginnings of fear take hold of her heart, she couldn't waste any energy against an opponent like this one.

The girl dashed towards the man, it was hard to say if he would realize that her magic had shifted from one form to another but Venir figured she might as well try and take him by surprise. "I need to prove that I'm not useless!" Deniel was now within slicing distance so she did just that. Her small size let her unleash a flurry of quick attacks, her swordsmanship not half bad, and there was more force to the blows than one might have expected from someone of her size and age. That was to be expected though, all of these skills and power granted to her through a card that changed the core of her magic.

    Ven's C to B Exam Empty Re: Ven's C to B Exam

Post by Decayuss 26th February 2015, 9:46 pm

Deniel had been disappointed in her when she tried the same thing on him again, and it only came out with the same result. He concluded that these cards had only one particular type of attack in them, and regardless to how much effort the person puts in, it doesn't change the result. Deniel had once again started to get that scowl on his face, and reach for his sword, but she eventually got the memo and tried something else. Deniel stopped himself, and stood in silence once more. The only form of momvement that Deniel made in these were the slight rise and fall in his shoulders from breathing, and from his eyes blinking from time to time. Although it didn't seme like he was doing anything, he was really studying her. She wasn't showing him the cards, but he could tell some things by the look on her face. She seemed to be studying the next one she picked up, meaning that she didn't know what that one did or meant either. She tried applying this particular card to her staff, but that didn't seem to work that well. Which must have meant that it either didn't work, or there was something else missing. And in a few short moments, Deniel found out what that something else was. He raised his eyebrow and gave a sound that made it seem like he was interested for once. "Oooh?" The first thing she did hadn't impressed him, but now he could see that this magic was capable of much more than just that. In addition to that, but Deniel's eyebrows shot up at the same time when her staff had managed to turn into a sword. Now that was really intruiging to him.

However, from memory, Venir wasn't exactly the best swordsman. He remembered the job they went on, he cringed upon seeing her handle a sword. And she didn't really prove to be up to that same skill level since she was a little kid. Still, he could be surprised. And, once again, he was. He reached for his sword, not just the handle, but the entire thing and pulled it out from where it was being kept. Instead of drawing his actual blade to block what she was doing, Deniel almost effortlessly moved his sheathed blade into certain positions and postures, so that the scabbard could take the blow. He didn't really move from his spot, and he was only using one hand. Deniel waited for the opportune moment to strike, and it was a fast one too. The next blow that Venir gave to Deniel, he used his scabbard to instead direct her blade off to the side, overpowering her strength with his, so she didn't have the option to fight back that much. In addition to that, he used his dominant right hand to draw his blade from its scabbard, and make it appear to look like he was going to spill her blood from her throat. But just before the blade had so much had touched her, Deniel stopped it, and sheathed it back in the scabbard.

"Not bad. Much better than what I remembered." She might not have believed it, but a compliment had escaped Deniel's lips, and was directed towards her. A smirk appeared on his face as he let his control of her blade go, and jumped back a good distance away from her. "Try something else, or try again. It's your choice."

Post by Mistress Venir 28th February 2015, 6:38 pm

Venir had thought she was doing well even with Deniel effortlessly blocking each of her strikes. Besides it wasn't her intention to physically hurt the man, so she was fine with him blocking everything. However, she did not think that she was still at such an extreme disadvantage with her current form. Apparently she was still at an extreme disadvantage because with ease Deniel had over powered the small form and for a moment her incredibly brief life flashed before her eyes just as quickly as his blade flashed.

"Huh?" One red eye cracked open to look at Deniel when he spoke. As soon as it seemed Deniel would go for the killing blow, the girl had frozen up closing her eyes tightly. Only the killing blow never came and instead she got what sounded like praise. All she needed now was a pat on the head and she'd be like a purring kitten. Unable to contain her obvious glee at getting praised the girl's hopeful look was almost pitiful considering that was all it took to make her happy. "Try again got it!" She had no idea what her other cards did so she didn't want to risk trying another on for size when this one seemed to be doing just fine...other than the fact that she lacked the strength to compete with him. "There has to be something in here for me to use..." Despite not wanting to test out another card she did so anyways. Glancing at the cards name, "The Power" she couldn't help but smile. "Include!" The girl called out but nothing seemed to change on her form as the card absorbed itself into her sword.

With a sudden dash the girl went to strike at Deniel once more. "Aaaaaah!" It was her lame battle cry much like the pink haired Venir's that battle cry apparently being one of the few traits the two shared. The next time their sword met there was a significant difference in the strike. Unlike before it held a lot more power behind it enough to at least cause Deniel's feet to slide back slightly from the force of the blow. Not wanting to cease her attacks, the blonde continued on.

Deniel was staring to enjoy this now. This could be seen by the smug look he had on his face. Originally he was merciless, cruel, and harsh on her, but his more friendly side started to show. He was afraid, at the start of this, that he accidentally lost a guild member, but maybe with this...he merely switched on around. Deniel held on to his sheathed blade, knowing he was going to need it once agian. When he gave her the two options, she seemed to chose the one that was trying again. She was pulling out yet another card, and she seemed satisfied with it as well. The smile on her face evidently showed satisfaction, and Deniel was predicting yet another change of her form or weapon. The card was absorbed in to her sword, but nothing seemed to have happened. Deniel tilted his head to the side, "Huuuuh?" Before he could ask her what just happened, she came at him again. With a very pathetic battle cry, too. A little girl charing right at him with a sword, and that kind of voice wasn't necessarily threatening. This casued Deniel to drop his guard a bit, and he held up his scabbard, thinking that it was going to be another effortless block. Just as her sword came into contact with his scabbard, though, he found that he was wrong. She managed to push his arm back, but he put in enough effort and strength into his block just in time. If he hesitated another moment, then she would have actually hit him.

"Shit!" Deniel was too used to Venir being an adult, so he couldn't help but swear at her. She had sucessfully caught him off-guard, and her next attack was the one that made the impact. Her sword cut into his torso, although not very deep as it only peirced his skin. He didn't make a grunting noise, and he didn't seem bothered by it, but she successfully managed to attack him. Upon doing so, Deniel's face suddenly turned very gentle, and he held up his hand for her to stop. "That's enough." He said very calmly. He looked down at the little girl, and lowered all of his guards. He gave the girl a smile, "Congratulations, Venir. You pass. You are now a B rank mage of Eclipse Soul."

He didn't know if she knew what that meant, but she was probably going to be happy. He stood back for a second and let her react and have her little parade. And once she was just about finished, he made a sudden movement, and picked her up. He placed her right down on his left shoulder, and said: "How about we celebrate with some strawberry sundaes?"

    Ven's C to B Exam Empty Re: Ven's C to B Exam

The moment her blade connected with Deniel her expression dropped, her sword doing the same. She had stopped long before he had even told her to do so. "A-Are you okay?" Her intention had ever been to harm the man, she had only wanted to prove herself not hurt him. Her intense fear of hurting others made itself known as for what felt like the millionth time, tears began to well up in her eyes. Before she could proceed to apologize about the small wound or even try and fix it up, she became distracted by the gentle look she received as well as the words. A million things rushed through her relatively empty head, he must have been okay if he was able to look so calm, and what was the about passing? "You mean I don't have to go away? You're not sending me away?!?"There it was the tears were falling again this time out of a vague sort of happiness. The rank and what not she did not seem to understand or care about all that seemed to matter to her was that she was staying. "I was so worried that...."She sniffled frantically trying to wipe them away to try and be strong, "That I was going to get sent away and be by myself and-"At that moment Venir had found herself getting lifted up onto a shoulder.

At the word 'Sundae' all tears were dried up and her attention was focused on the sweet treat. "Really!?" A bright smile graced her lips falling ever so slightly as she was remembered the wound upon his chest. "Wait! First we patch you up then ice cream!" There was no if's, and's, or but's in her statement, a surprising amount of determination in her voice. Perched upon Deniel's shoulder the young girl couldn't help but smile, ice cream and shoulder rides was not something she had expected to get out of Deniel but she was pleased none the less. A feeling of deja vu passed over her but it left just as quickly as it came. Crimson irises glanced down at the person carrying her, "You're not so bad after all." the thought made her place a gentle hand upon Deniel's head giving it a light pat before quickly redrawing her hand unsure of how he might respond to the action.   Smiling like an idiot Venir decided that she rather liked the view from upon his shoulder.
