Strange Vulcans Need to Burn! (Chikane and Blitz)

Chikane was utterly bored for what seemed the very first time ever. She had done everything she needed to do in the guild for the day, and nothing else seemed to be needing of her immediate attention. So she decided upon taking a small, fairly easy job. It shouldn’t be trouble for her in any way, so she expected nothing but a smooth and relaxing job that included some minor fights.

“Ahh! Here we go!” Chikane exclaimed as she took one of the jobs from the wall. She quickly read through it and grinned, as she liked how easy it seemed for her.

Job information:

“Woo! This is no problem for someone of my calibur! I wonder what the Spooky Forest actually is like…” She questioned as she went into a serious thinking pose for a moment. However, she shrugged and turned away from the job board with a large smile. “Oh well! I guess I shall find out soon enough! I’m off everyone!” The guild master announced as she started to walk towards the guild doors. Members said their byes as she continued to walk, waving to her as she waved back.

Nothing could make this day bad for her! Chikane finally felt like things were going to totally go her way with no problems at all!

Hareta was sitting by the guild bar, ordering some orange juice; might seem a bit childish of her, however, she enjoyed her juice! That was a side of her she could never ever live down. Once she paid for it, she noticed she wouldn't have enough money to pay for the next drink of hers, which would be problematic as she was quite fond of her Fairy Tail drinks.

She finished her drink and stood up, and then, her guild master, Chikane, passed her to go do a job. Huh? She's doin' a job? Really weird for her... she thought to herself. But then, an idea came to Hareta. She wanted to go on the job with Chikane! She desired to make up since their first misunderstanding, and potentially get closer with her guild master.

She stood where she was, nodding at her plan and thinking it through; meanwhile, Chikane had selected a job and notified the rest of the guild that she was going to head out. Hareta couldn't let that happen, not when she had conjured up such a wonderful plan!

"Waaaait!", she called after Chikane, waving her hand and running towards her, "I want to come with you, Chikane!"

Chikane stopped and blushed slightly as she heard her name be called by someone she hadn’t really thought to deal with at the moment. Hareta Shinko. The girl was a member who had joined recently, and she had a slight mix-up with Chikane. They hadn’t spoken much since, and the white haired guild master was content with watching her from a distance. Now that the girl was talking to her, she had to face her once more and face the one thing she didn’t truly like.

Her crush that had slightly grown as she watched the passionate blonde the last few days.

“Y-you want t-to come with me Hareta?” Chikane basically squeaked as her face turned even more red. “I-I guess it’s okay. I do need to see you in action” Chikane tried to state as seriously as she could with her red face. The members started to speak amongst each other, and Chikane knew that they were gossiping about her and Hareta. Needing a quick escape, Chikane grabbed Hareta’s hand and started to walk fast out of the guild. “Le-Let’s get moving quick! I think the quicker we bond on this mission the quicker we can get it done!” She said hurriedly, leaving her guild members with their gossip.

She really needed to control her emotions.

Hareta scratched the back of her head when Chikane spoke to her. She alright there..? she wondered. It was quite odd; though Hareta hadn't spoken much to Chikane, she didn't expect her to behave in such an... Odd way? Hareta couldn't quite explain Chikane's behavior, but it was different from when she first met her.

"Hey, are you a- Whoa!" Hareta was interrupted when Chikane grabbed her arm and began running somewhere randomly in Magnolia Town. When they were around the middle of the place, they stopped, and Hareta took some deep breaths. "G-geez... Look at you making me run places..."

Hareta quickly caught her breath and pats Chikane's back. "Still! Thanks for havin' me Chikane! We kinda go off at a rough start, so I thought this would be really nice to make up for that." Hareta put both palms behind her head, and began walking forward, before turning around to face Chikane once more.

"Oh, right! I don't actually know what we're meant to be doin' in this job, so uh..." Hareta walked forward to face Chikane properly, lightly punching her shoulder, "How about you fill me in the details while you lead where to go, eh?" Hareta's usual smile became even brighter. She finally had a chance to bond with her guild master!

Chikane blushed when Hareta pat her on the back. It felt weird to be treated like just any old regular person instead of a guild master or a freak. Hareta was very much someone who she liked being around already, as the girl didn’t treat her like a guild master but a person she wanted to be friends with. Chikane had wanted to speak to the girl earlier about their slight misunderstanding, but with what her feelings and all…...She never got the chance.

Now would be a good time than ever to try and connect with her newest member.

Chikane giggled when her guild member asked her to lead. “Well, we need to head to a train station...We’ll be going to the Spooky Forest, which is near the Hunting Village. It’ll take some time to actually get there, but this job should be done by today.” Chikane nodded to herself, and started walking in the direction of the train station. She hoped that Hareta was following her, and she looked over her shoulder to make sure. “The enemies are going to be vulcans, so you can show me your abilities. I would like to see what you can do.” The guild master stated as she continued walking towards the train station.

Hopefully she would stop blushing by the time they started the actual job.

Hareta listened carefully as Chikane explained exactly what they would be doing the following job. When Chikane was done explaining, Hareta punched both of her fists together, a half grin showing up on her face. "Ohh... This is going to be exciting! I love a good fight!" The guild master stated this as she was walking towards the train station, and Hareta eagerly followed.

Hareta was extremely excited. She wanted to get back to the Spooky Forest already. She was so excited, in fact, that if they weren't going at her speed or higher, Hareta was incredibly unsatisfied with it. As such, she began running, caught Chikane by her waist and was running towards the train station at incredible speeds. "Sorry for this Chikane, but you're being too slow for my liking!"

Hareta couldn't help but laugh as she was running towards the train station. It was great to feel the wind against her face and her hair flowing freely backwards. She reached the train station fairly quickly, and after getting hers and Chikane's ticket, giving it to the guards, she hopped on the train station which quickly left. This all happened in a span of a minute, just to give you an idea as to how fast Hareta was going.

Chikane squeaked, and for what seemed like the 50th time that day blushed, when Hareta picked her up by the waist and carried her towards the train station. Chikane wondered how she was able to pick her up while her sword was strapped to her back, but dismissed it as they approached the station. Chikane was morbidly amazed with how fast Hareta managed to get them tickets and on the train, as she would have never thought anyone could move so fast in their life without having some sort of speed boosting spell activated.

Maybe she did and the guild master just couldn’t notice?

Chikane immediately wiggled out of Hareta’s grasp and sighed as she readjusted her blade on her back so that it was more comfortable. Her face was still resembling a tomato, and she tried coughing in her hand to regain her composure. “Le-Lets go find somewhere to sit shall we?” She asked while walking away from Hareta, trying to find a seat somewhere. The flame mage got lucky and found an empty compartment. Sliding in quickly, Chikane immediately turned her attention to the window and looked outside, trying not to see if Hareta had followed.

She really couldn’t handle how fast her heart was beating already.

Hareta giggled when Chikane wriggled out of her grasp to go find a seat; the way she did it Hareta thought was adorable. She silently followed Chikane till she eventually found an empty compartment. Chikane slid in quickly and turned her head towards the window, and didn't even take notice of Hareta.

She pouted and her cheeks puffed up a bit, though Hareta would say nothing and sit down at the opposite end of Chikane. During most of the trip, it was dead silent. Hareta wanted Chikane to say something, though it was pretty obvious she wouldn't at this stage, so... Hareta decided she would be the one to take the initiative and start a conversation.

She silently moved next to Chikane who had her face completely turned at the window, her back revealed to Hareta. She grinned, and wrapped her left arm around her head to preform a headlock, while the other hand formed a fist and gave her a nuggie. She didn't realize it, but Hareta's chest was pressing up against Chikane's back pretty hard.

"Stop being so anti sociaaaaaaaal~" Hareta was giggling as a big ol' smile formed on her face. This continued for about five minutes, and that's when the train stopped, signaling they had reached their destination, making Hareta's cheeks puff up again. "Aww... And things were finally lightening up, too...", she muttered, but quickly got off her seat.

"So, Chikane! How about you lead the way?", Hareta motioned with both of her arms out of the compartment.

The guild master didn’t see it coming. If one were to ask what she was thinking about during the ride, it was how to best approach the enemies they would be facing. Chikane was oblivious to the fact that her guild member had slid into the seat next to her and was preparing for an assault.

Chikane only felt herself get pulled into someone’s generous chest, and then became the victim of a nuggie from the person she was trying hard to avoid thinking about. Her face turned a bright shade of red, and she began to whine constantly about how her hair was getting messed up by Hareta. It was odd really, Chikane would have imagined the girl trying to avoid or not speak to the guild master until she made the first move. But here Hareta was, attempting to make the unusually quiet and shy Chikane speak more to her.

And it was working to some extent.

The assault on the poor flame mage’s hair was halted when they finally reached their destination. Chikane immediately shot up and fixed her hair so that it wasn’t messy, and started out the door to get off the train when Hareta mentioned it. Walking by, Chikane spoke in a semi-professional tone. “We should immediately go to the Spooky Forest. If we waste time, it shall only take longer to get rid of the vulcans.” It was weird for the guild master to be serious when she expected some fun on the job.

But she really couldn’t let Hareta know how she exactly felt about being alone with her.

Hareta giggled and covered her mouth slightly when she heard Chikane attempting to put on a professional guild master-like tone, which made her pat Chikane's back. "D'aww! Look at you trying to sound all professional!", Hareta teased slightly. "The Spooky Forest, eh..?" Hareta recalled her surprisingly anti-climatic battle there between a wolf and herself; boring. She was hoping that this time wouldn't be the same.

Hareta was walking slowly, pouting, following Chikane. She was really bored simply going at that paste. She wanted to get to the Spooky Forest already, dammit! They passed the Hunting Village along the way and Hareta was simply slumped over like a zombie. "Why are we going so slow..?", she muttered in such a quiet voice that even Chikane wouldn't hear.

The entire trip was entirely silent, which made Hareta even more bored. The entire purpose of this trip and job was so that both Hareta and Chikane could clear up their misunderstanding when Hareta entered the guild in a... Flashy way, to say the least, but it would appear as though that whenever Hareta attempted to do anything, Chikane would just further go away.

When they got to the "official" entrance of the Spooky Forest, Hareta ran past Chikane and faced her directly. "Okay, really, Chikane, what's your deal? Honestly..." She kept walking closer towards Chikane, "I try and make up for our misunderstanding that we had when I first appeared... And now you're acting like this? Rea-" Hareta was cut short, as she tripped over a vine while walking closer towards Chikane.

The result was that Hareta fell on top of Chikane, both of their chests pressing against each other. Hareta was slightly stunned from the fall, and groaned lightly, taking a few moments to figure out exactly where she was at. When she knew what was going on, her cheeks turned a bright red and she gasped, instantly getting up and facing the other way.

"Aaaaanyyyyywaaaaaays...", she said, her voice slightly cracking before coughing and placing both hands on her hips. "I'm sorry about that... So how about we get into this forest already and fight those monkeys, eh?! Haha... Hah..." Hareta felt odd now. Her chest was pounding suddenly, before it settled down very quickly.

She didn't like the feeling, mostly because she didn't understand what it was. On the bright side, it went away quickly... At least, for now.

Chikane made the entire trip from the Hunting Village as slow and painfully boring as possible. The guild master was trying to keep her heart from racing as they traveled, more or less ignoring the fact that the entire time she hadn’t said a word to Hareta. This went on until they had made it to the entrance of the Spooky Forest. When Chikane was about to enter, Hareta had finally had enough of the silence and started to confront her guild master.

The flame mage really tried her hardest to not seem agitated about the confrontation. But she was losing her own patience herself. Never one to be quiet about their feelings, Chikane was about to blurt out why she was avoiding Hareta.

Right before Hareta tripped, and knocked them both down to the ground, with their chests touching.

Chikane never knew her face could turn so red, and she started babbling incoherently at the situation. Since she had never been this close to someone before, she had trouble comprehending the complete situation they were in. Her heart beat so fast, she was almost sure that it would explode in her chest and leave her a bloody mess everywhere. Thankfully for both her health and her mental state, Hareta got off her and spoke about actually doing the job. Her voice sounded a bit odd to the flame mage, but she ignored it in favor of getting up herself and nodding.

“R-right! We should get this done quickly! The vulcans should be of no problem to us both, so we can get this done fast.” Chikane spoke back in her cheery tone. The guild master wasn’t going to hide behind her fears any longer, and would speak to Hareta like she would anyone else.

Granted she’d hide the fact about her crush. That was silly for a guild master to have on a guild member.

Hareta sighed in relief and smiled. Hareta heard something different in Chikane's voice this time around, more cheerful, more true, a lot more similar to the first time they had met. There didn't seem to be any hesitation, which made the brawler happy. "Let's go beat those vulcans with our deadly 'weapons' if you know what I mean!" Hareta gave Chikane a very cheesy wink.

She was back to normal now and quite happy about it, though still was unable to comprehend as to what exactly she felt previously. Regardless, she felt pretty good now. Hareta ran into the forest, without looking back if Chikane was following; she had faith that Chikane would, so she didn't worry about it, she was simply glad to know that Chikane was with her, and now willing to try to put their misunderstanding aside.

However, what she didn't know is that they wouldn't be together for long.

A fairly big vulcan was charging towards Hareta from the side at inhuman speeds, catching Hareta within its large hand and running towards a rather secluded area, in which, once reached, Hareta was let go and sent flying into a tree, in which she groaned as she slumped down towards it. She opened her eyes almost instantly, and saw a total of five vulcans.

"Pretty woman! Me want pretty woman!", they all yelled in a synchronized manner. Hareta simply sighed and got into her battle stance, grinning. "Well, Chikane, I hope You can take out your bundle and live up to your title as guild master, 'cause I know I'm definitely gonna take these guys out!" Hareta knew that the odds of Chikane actually hearing her were extremely low, but the brawler felt like saying what she did regardless.

Chikane chuckled and followed Hareta’s trail hurriedly. While confident that she could easily take down any vulcans, she was worried that Hareta might end up biting off more than she could chew. Her fear was definitely not just random, this was Vulcan territory at the moment. For all she knew, there could be hundreds of the beasts just waiting to take them both in for whatever…..nefarious things that a Vulcan would do with a woman.

She didn’t want to think about what it could be.

Suddenly, the guild master’s danger sense went haywire. She hopped backwards, dodging an attempt by a large Vulcan to grab her. This make her click her tongue, wondering how far Hareta had gotten before she had ran into these guys. The flame mage was indeed worried about her guildie, but she had to deal with the one in front of her currently, and his four buddies that decided to join not too soon after. This only made her sigh as the beasts each make monkey like noises and stared at her dumbly.

“Pretty woman nice! Me want nice pretty woman!” One spoke, which was similarly echoed by the rest of the group. Chikane sighed and unsheathed her blade, obviously not happy with how the entire situation ended up.

But in the end, she could wrap this part up fairly quickly.

Hareta allowed Ember Clica to take its proper form, the golden gauntlets extending out to become arm guards. She punched her fists together as an ember flashed from her fists, and the fire brawler grinned in satisfaction. That is exactly when she had an interesting idea, something she has always wanted to try out on a vulcan, however, it was also something incredibly cruel towards the vulcan, though they had habits of capturing women for their own... "Pleasures", so she was able to forgive herself.

"Alright then hun! Come and get some sugar!" Hareta pointed towards one of the smaller vulcans who eagerly ran towards her, and stopped immediately right in front of Hareta. As the other vulcans began to rage and make a movement towards the vulcan Hareta had called, she made them stop with a loud scream. "Be patient boys! All of you are going to get a turn!" And indeed they were, but a turn of what? They would soon find out.

Hareta closed her eyes and would lean forward, puckering her lips, and the vulcan did the same, though it was clearly extremely nervous as it was shakily and slowly moving forward. Lean, lean, lean, and then, at the last moment, Hareta opened her eyes and grinned, igniting her fist in flames. [blue]Rising Blaze![/blur] Hareta had used fire to boost herself up, uppercutting the foolish vulcan along the way, preforming a half spin as she did so. The vulcan flew backwards five meters before landing on the ground, instantly knocked out from not expecting a blow whatsoever, and Hareta landed elegantly and grinned.

"Now then, who is next?"

Chikane sighed again, not really liking the situation that Hareta must have been in. There were at least 5 other Vulcans from the job description, and that meant they were roaming around somewhere. With Hareta alone in the forest somewhere, Chikane knew that it wasn’t a good thing for them to be separated from each other for long. So, with that in mind, the guild master ignited her blade on fire and coldly stared at each of the beasts in front of her.

“You are in my way.” Chikane spoke without emotion, as she launched her blade into a Vulcan’s chest. The beast was thrown back into a tree, which promptly snapped, and was easily knocked unconscious from the force of the blade being thrown. Chikane grabbed the returning blade from mid air, not even sparing a glance to see if the downed Vulcan was going to live or not. Instead, she ran towards the remaining four and launched herself at one with her Dragon Kick spell. It connected, sending the beast flying back as well. The guild master didn’t stop, using her Rising Flame Punch against another Vulcan to make it skyrocket in the air, before plummeting back down hard. Chikane stepped back and surveyed the situation again, keeping an ear out to see if she could hear Hareta.

Maybe the new guildie had managed to get back to her quickly.

The remaining four vulcans were now in a rage that their companion has been taken down. "YOU! WOMAN! WE TRUST YOU! NOW WE GET YOU AND FORCE YOU HAPPY FUN VULCAN TIME!" Hareta couldn't help but facepalm at their stupidity as she shook her head. "It's for reasons like this that human females don't even consider taking a liking to you guys..." The vulcans paused for a moment, scratching their heads, as though they were actually considering in making sense to what Hareta had said. "Thaaat and the fact your faces look as though its been slammed into a door over and over and over agaaaain..."

Hareta snickered as she watched the vulcans go ape; full pun intended. They all leaped towards Hareta in a single motion. It was time for the fun to begin.

Ember Celica was now ignited in flames and Hareta took her battle position. She aimed for elbow straight towards the vulcan that was farthest away, and shot a bullet to boost herself forward. The vulcan was surprised by the sudden boost forward and speed, and received an elbow to the chest. She then would headbutt the vulcan, turn around, and mule kick him so that he'd be in the perfect range for a kick. Using both of her gauntlets, she shot down and brought a kick up to the vulcan's chin, as Hareta elegantly performed a back flip behind one of the other smaller vulcans; the one she had struck was dazed and heavily damaged, but not out yet.

Hareta underestimated their intellect and noticed that the vulcan she would back flip behind was eying her the entire time, keeping track of her movement. The vulcan then jumped up and grabbed her in its mighty grasp, squeezing her as tightly as it could; eventually it got bored and threw her at a tree, causing it to crack. She gasped in pain as she was dazed, in which another vulcan charged towards her, slamming against her with its shoulder, nearly causing the tree to snap, but it did fall down onto the damaged vulcan, instantly taking it out.

Hareta grit her teeth in anger, and kneed the vulcan whom tackled her after it raised her up in both of its arms. She performed a series of strikes, each targeted towards its head, also, each of them landing in a successful manner. However, the vulcan then kicked her backwards in which Hareta had to stop her knockback motion by digging both of her hands into the ground. The vulcan was now running towards her, and she was running towards the vulcan. Hareta used her Striker's Step to move at blinding speeds and maneuver her way behind the said vulcan, forming a trail of flames as she moved and grabbing its skull and then smashing it in the ground, instantly taking that one out as well.

Hareta looked behind her, as the three remaining vulcans stared in awe. She gave them a determined battle written stare as the flames she caused would cover over half of her body. One of the smaller vulcans charged towards her; Hareta noticed a pattern. So far, she had only faced the smaller vulcans, and the bigger one simply stood there, watching, and seemingly evaluating. That didn't matter at that moment, however, she was about to clash with another one of the vulcans.

She shot four bullets, two from each gauntlet, to arch her way beautifully over the vulcan, using two more bullets, one from each gauntlet, to make sure she'd receive no fall damage. The vulcan quickly spun around upon the realization, only to be greeted by a superkick to the chin. It was dazed, and Hareta grinned. It was a perfect opportunity to finish it off! She jumped up high into the air and allowed her right gauntlet to pulse a bright orange, grinning, extending her arm out so that it was directly faced to the vulcan as soon as she was parallel to it. Shotgun Gauntlet! Hareta shot two of the three shots that would spread out like traditional shotgun bullets, each of them directly hitting the vulcan in the face, full spread as well.

Before the final smaller vulcan even had a chance to move, Hareta used her second Striker's Step to find her way in front of the opponent, grinning as she aimed the final shotgun spread at its face, and shot it, instantly taking it out after using her left gauntlet to shoot backwards which propelled Hareta forwards, basically delivering an enormous headbutt.

It was that time; time to take out the final vulcan which would appear to be the boss out of all of the smaller vulcans. Hareta was heavily injured and exhausted, breathing harshly, blood dripping from both sides of her head, and the final vulcan simply laughed. "Woman think she beat me?! Other vulcan can't fight or are smart! They so easy!" Her response was simply gritting her teeth, sucking up the pain and exhaustion, and resuming her battle stance.

The vulcan clearly took insult to this, and made a sudden movement, and was suddenly in front of Hareta, which caused her to gasp. A heavy arm was swung towards her face which knocked her sideways, before getting kicked in the groin and flying into the air, causing her to cough up blood, and fall flat on her back. Meanwhile, the vulcan laughed at her getting up, who was now on shaky feet. Her vision was beginning to get cloudy, and she felt unbalanced. She started to lean sideways.

She was wondering... Wondering what she could do. Was this the end? But... She still had so much to prove! She realized it when thoughts of her guildmates, and guildmaster, Chikane, rose to her head, and she twisted her foot sideways to readjust, and smirked. "Almost had me there, big boy, but you aren't gonna even touch me from this point on..." The vulcan looked at her, confused.

Hareta brought both of her arms up, and slammed them down sideways, causing an aura of golden flames to surround her body; this was her Blazing Aura spell. The vulcan simply looked on, intrigued, but was quickly sent sideways when Hareta suddenly appeared before its face, punching him with all of her might. But she wasn't done there, though, she continued charging towards the vulcan, who had now performed a blocking maneuver, clearly anticipating her next attack, but that was all too perfect for her.

Searing Assault! She punched the vulcans block, sending him off balance, and then striking it with a European Uppercut, a throat thrust, a mule kick, and finished with a dual bullet shot to the groin. Now that the vulcan was dazed, Hareta had a plan. She kicked the vulcans knees to have it fall on her, so she would be able to lift it up in a gorilla press slam position, then shot off two bullets into it, causing the vulcan to go flying into the air. Hareta had shot two more bullets into the ground, flinging her up to the vulcan; she then placed the vulcan on her back, and she smiled.

She shot her final two bullets upwards so the two would be sent flying down, vulcan hitting the ground with supreme force, causing a rather large crater upon impact, sending dust and debris into the air. As it all cleared, Hareta could be seen standing, no more spells activated, exhausted, and tired. She walked a few feet forward before collapsing on her front, head to the side, with a big smile on her face.

She had finished her group of opponents, and now was hoping that Chikane would finish hers and carry her back to Fairy Tail.

Chikane cracked her neck again, watching the remaining two Vulcans try to intimidate her. It was hilarious in hindsight, the beasts thinking that someone of her ability and magical strength would even be afraid of them remotely. She was leagues ahead of them, and it showed by how much they were shaking from her mere showing against their friends. Chikane sighed and scratched her head, not really knowing how to continue without absolutely murdering the last Vulcans. Coming up with what she believed to be a brilliant idea, she lit her right fist on fire and brought it up to her face, confusing the remaining two beasts. Smirking, she performed her Flaming Superman Punch spell, knocking one of the Vulcan’s out without so much as a whimper from it. The last one charged at her, believing that while her back was turned the flame mage wouldn't be able to turn around in time. Yet she did, and performed her Fire Flash Kick to blast it into a group of trees, where it was promptly knocked out. Satisfied, she went and kicked one of the Vulcans for good measure, just to make sure that he had been knocked out cleanly.

Chikane strapped her blade back to her back, and ran at a speedy pace to find Hareta. When she did, she was glad to see that the young girl hadn’t lost completely and instead knocked out all of the Vulcan’s who had attacked her. The guild master was proud, and that showed when she walked over and bent down to pick the older mage up. “Good job Hareta. You did a hell of a number on them all. But for now, it is time for us to get going. We don’t know how many of them still are situated here, and this was the amount that had been confirmed.” Chikane spoke while looking at all of the damage caused. It would be bad if they had to pay for all of it, but Chikane was sure that no one would care in the long run.

“Cmon Sugah, lets go.” Speaking in her old accent and not noticing, Chikane carried Hareta princess style out as she used her Cold Step spell to leave the Spooky Forest.

There was nothing left for them to do there.
