Rose stood at the top of the Blue Pegasus Guild Hall stairs the wind whipping her hair. She tottered back and forth on her heels debating if she should go in. "You'll never know if you don't try..." she mumbled to herself. Lifting her head high in false confidence she walked into the main hall.

Rose's eyes widened in awe. She slowly turned in a circle taking the marble surrounding her on all sides. “Oh my God. This place is so beautiful…” she whispered to herself. Rose started to walk aimlessly around the main hall looking at each pillar, even though she knew they were all similar.

The Flower's Arrival Empty Re: The Flower's Arrival

Post by Eris 7th May 2014, 8:12 am

( Sorry for making a long post compared to your own,  it's hard for me to stop once I get rolling (especially for first posts).  Which is good,  because it's hard for me to get rolling ._. )

Siren stood in the guild's main building,  the Hall of Fame specifically,  in her usual attire with her form fitting but not skin tight black leather and signature white coat that hung loosely over her leathers,   her red hair standing out strikingly against the soft white fur.  It was indoors,  so naturally she didn't wear her sunglasses but they were clipped to the utilitarian belt around her waist.

It had been quite some time now since Siren had entered this world bringing with her their lost Shuhei after some ploy to get him to help slay the Dragon-Emperor by her side and the help of that weather mage Elen who had chosen to remain in the dragonrealm.   There weren't a lot of living humans capable of magic in that world,  any humans who do show signs of magic tend to be eaten or immediately put on death row via an arena fight for the amusement of the dragon population,  and if they survived the arena after throwing stronger and stronger challenges before the mage then they simply get executed.   And that's assuming anyone shows magic in the first place, as all the notable lines of magical ancestry were severed.

Still,  it was only just earlier that day that the pillar Siren stood before in the great hall was finished.  Sculpted delicately over the course of a few months the pillar was the newest addition to those that lined the hall,  creating a central area leading towards a large statue of a guildmaster on a throne,   while in the more shadowed areas along the outskirts of the room there were many more murals carved on marble and granite slabs and trimmed or detailed in precious metals.   The scene depicted on the pillar showed Siren and Shuhei in two separate scenes with both of them together in a third each taking of one third of the heavy base of the pillar which rose as tall as Siren was before a more normal, in comparison,  pillar continued upwards towards the ceiling.    In Siren's solo panel it showed her with ruby-dust detail on her hair and lips standing at the front of her ship with her sword pointed towards the dragon capital,   with many fierce looking warriors on the ship with her and on the ground below as dragons circled the city ahead.     In Shuhei's panel,  it showed him with a radiant aura standing atop the bodies of dragons in the arena,  a group of humans behind him while he seemed to be challenging the lord-dragons who watched from above.    In the third and last panel it showed a great black and red serpent entwined around a great and regal dragon with Shuhei bathed in light just above them both,  a ruined palace was shown below.

Each pillar contained their own tales with their own heroes, though maybe Siren was biased but she thought this one was particularly lovely.  It was likely given more care than usual as it contained depictions of their own guild master.    The previous pillar that use to be in this spot was replaced with this one and moved to the lower levels of the building where they appear where they can still be seen throughout the library,  often as features with places to sit around them and read through books.   The same occurred when one of the panels on the surrounding walls were replaced.

It was truly a beautiful room that inspired a measure of reverence,  reinforced by the silent scholars in white robes that stood throughout the room writing on clipboards or carefully dusting or mopping and drying the floor to keep the room polished.   It wasn't all they did,  but every resident scholar took some time out of their day to service the guild hall to keep it immaculate.

She wasn't the only non-scholar here it seemed,  she looked to face someone who had entered a while ago but was drawing nearer.  Not for her,  but just looking at the pillars and taking in the majesty of the room they were in.   It was hardly unique though,  the Blue Pegasus buildings were all open to the public,  just with restricted areas and so on.  Blue Pegasus did Clover Town a great service in providing for them with both security in having a mage guild of their standing here and in providing services such as this library here,  the gardens and public bath,  as well as the Colosseum.   All of which were tourist attractions as well,   not just for the sights but for those who often came hoping to see one of Blue Pegasus's many top-mages,  several being Wizard Saints.

Speaking of which,  she was one of them.  The fact slipped her mind sometimes.  She wasn't use to this world and it's customs just yet and the weight of being a "Saint" as a cultural image and even idol to more than a few didn't truly weigh on her as it might to someone who grew up knowing about things such as "Aces" and "Saints".   She was mostly just overwhelmed by how many magical individuals this world contained.   In all her travels she'd only met perhaps two dozen magic-bearing or magic-like bearing individuals in other worlds.   If this world wasn't the source of magic,  it was definitely close to whatever force provided magic throughout the multiverse.

Oh.  She got lost in thought again.  Not that someone would know it as very little time had passed.  The other girl who had been approaching had only taken another step since she started her tangent.   Siren smirked slightly,  barely a twitch at the corner of her lips,  amused by something unseen.   The pillar was wonderful,  the artisans truly did a lovely job and she'd be sure to thank them in person when she gets the chance.

Rose continued to walk around the room oblivious to her surroundings focusing only on the pillar she was at. The pillar that she was at depicted a mage she had never seen before fighting a large monster. She continued like this evaluating each one until she made it to the newly installed pillar.

Rose began to circle the pillar picking up speed as she did so. Rose had made it all the way to the other side of the pillar before slamming into someone and falling down on her butt. Rose looked down at the floor and said, "Oh I'm such a cluts! Sorry!" Rose looked up and actually saw the red-headed bombshell for the first time. The first thing Rose noticed was the cascade of scarlet that framed the woman's face. Then she saw her outfit and had to hide her face to keep from blushing. Snapping out of her daze she remembered to introduce herself. "I'm Rose Thorn!" she exclaimed holding out her hand.

Siren lingered around the pillar for a moment longer to take in the craftsmanship,  it was only a moment but it was long enough for her to see the newcomer soak in the carving as well and for Siren to take interest in her,  in the way she seemed so enamored with the carvings.   She was effectively lost in the stonework as she encircled it that she did not even notice Siren,  who had been standing on the opposite side of the pillar away from her view at first.

So enamored, in fact,  that she seemed to lose awareness of her surroundings and was primed to trip over the carving of a dragon's tail that extended out from the base of the pillar a little ways as part of the wonderful sculpting.  Rather than snap the girl out of it,  there'd be no fun in that,  Siren stepped forward in the moment she tripped and let her collide into her.   As she faceplanted into Siren's chest, not budging in the slightest from the collision,  she patted the girl's back with one of her gloved hands,  the soft fur of her coat was warm and comforting and stopped her from falling back onto the hard marble floor.

When the girl was stable Siren took half a step back to give her some space, though she still towered over her by a full foot,  as she introduced herself as Rose Thorn.   And odd name to be sure,  like Berry Blue,  but was pretty common here.  Her name wasn't weird,  but Siren's would definitely be the weird one if she spoke it.

"It's no problem Rose.  As for me,  I am Captain Redlocke,  but as with most you can call me simply Siren."  She said as she took the girl's hand.  Her voice was normal to her,  but to the girl she undoubtedly had a slight accent due to subtle language differences and the fact that she didn't even know about this world until a few months ago.

Rose was still blushing intensely when she spoke, not noticing Siren's accent due to her intense embarrassment. “Thanks for cushioning my fall with your…” Rose stopped realizing where she face planted. “Oh my God!” she yelled, her blush intensifying. Rose lost herself in thought. Did she really just face plant into Siren’s breasts? What was she going to think of her after that?

Gathering up her courage she looked up into Siren’s eyes. “Uh… um… ah..” she stammered, “Do you know where I could sign up for the guild? I’m new and I wanted to join.” Even then Rose was still blushing thinking of her fall. God she’s such a klutz!

The Flower's Arrival Empty Re: The Flower's Arrival

Post by Eris 7th May 2014, 11:41 am

Siren observed the high levels of stress the girl Rose was going through,  the pumping heart in her chest racing and her thoughts clearly addled.  Siren was intimidating her.  The corner of her lips twitched again,  this time in a bit of a frown.  She had that effect on people.  She was intimidating and had too much... grace... about her.

Siren bop'd the top of Rose's head as though to knock some sense into her with the light tap as she shrunk.   Siren's height lowered from her default height until she was eye-level with the girl.  Yea, so it was technically her choice to intimidate people at a default.  She just felt more comfortable at the sweet-spot height of 6'3",  not overly tall but had a domineering aura about her in being that size.  Men especially tended to be... put in their place by a woman who was as confident as she was and without their usual height advantage.

With her change in height the girl seemed to clear up and had the courage to ask Siren her questions,  asking about the guild application.   It was an easy question,   this was the very place to be to ask.

"As a matter of fact I do.  I would be a poor Ace if I did not I'm afraid."  With that said she raised a hand towards the desk over on the far side of the room near the two entrances to the Hall of Fame where a couple ladies sat behind the counter staring at archive-lacrima powered "Computers" sorting through files.   They handled Information on Blue Pegasus and could answer most questions as well as handle tours and library check outs and library cards.   Behind the desk were also Blue Pegasus applications.

An invisible force followed Siren's hand and a piece of paper and a clipboard seemed to have a mind of it's own as a locked drawer opened itself and the paper slipped out,  the drawer closing and locking itself behind and the paper flew towards Siren and then floated from her to Rose followed by a gold and red colored stick about six inches long with a narrow fine point that appeared out from one of the hidden slots in her fullbody leather suit.   It was her "CosmeWand" which served as a writing utensil.  It's surface was warm and soft wit an excellent grip.

"Here is the form,  and you may use my... writing utensil."    It shouldn't take long to fill out,  but it would take a minute or two.  Siren wondered if she should leave the girl be with the application and just get a new wand or not.  She didn't usually greet would-be members,  or most members in general.

Rose stared at the .. writing utensil. “Thanks!” she squeaked. Rose looked down at the form and started to fill it out. Mumbling to herself as she wrote Rose started to concentrate some magic into her hand and started to fill out the form at high speeds. Once or twice a word actually started to take the shape of what she wrote before she could calm it down.

As Rose was finishing the form she realized how fast she had been going and freaked out. “Agh! That was an accident! I didn’t mean to use magic on that!” Rose yelled. “Man I need to work on my speed writing…” she mumbled to herself. “Here’s your form Siren!” Rose shouted happily.

Siren didn't have to think long because the girl didn't even take her color wand before she had already filled in the application as her magic leaked out from her onto the paper,  words appearing on the page likely as quick as the girl could think.  She'd make a hell of a scribe.

Before the girl could finish the application Siren drew the sunglasses from her belt and put them on,  and behind the lenses she focused on her.  It was hard to pick up on at first,  she was a D-rank mage she could tell,  but then it snapped into focus and she could see the faint letters and symbols that circled her close to her body every now and then,  seeming to spill from her body and flow towards the paper.

Siren couldn't tell very accurately,  the aura wasn't strong enough to read properly,  but Rose was obviously a D-rank mage with a form of Script magic.   As she handed the paper back to Siren,  it floated out of her hand and neatly presented itself in front of her as Siren took off her shades and clipped them back to her belt,  while the floating pen tucked itself away again.

"Script magic, is that so?"  Siren was grossly incorrect when she thought it might take minutes to fill out the form.   Not every day you see someone with language magics such as Script.  She could stick around after all.    She read the paper even quicker than Rose had written it,  it only took a glance.

"Odd choice of name for a girl born in winter" She commented as she grabbed a guild seal from behind the counter in the same manner she drew the paper. It wasn't much of an issue to store it just there and not in the guildmaster's own office as the mark was useless without magic from an Ace and Guildmaster within it.  Her application told her she'd prefer the mark on her shoulder.

"If you don't mind,  you'll need to move your shirt out of the way so I may deliver your mark."  As she said this she raised a curtain of opaque white water around the two of them so none of the scholars hanging around the room could see to give her some privacy just between the two of them,  just as a formality.

Rose was astounded by the beauty of the water that rose around her and Siren. “Your magic’s really pretty,” Rose whispered, turning around. “Could you help me out?” Rose asked, before realizing her hair was in the way, ”Oops! I forgot!” In one smooth motion she pulled her lavender locks over her shoulder to reveal a small zipper on the back of her dress. “Could you unzip it? I can’t reach it.”

Post by Eris 7th May 2014, 12:43 pm

Siren was glad to see that changing her size put Rose more on ease,  she seemed to calm down quite a lot by now and didn't melt into a puddle when she proposed the idea that she'd have to bare skin for her as she might have if Siren had asked just a minute or two ago.

Instead,  Rose didn't even look like she was taken back by the idea at all.   Siren thanked her for the complement on her magic as Rose turned around and asked for her help in unzipping and brushed her hair out of the way to sit over her shoulder.

Siren unzipped it by hand no farther than necessary and slid the right half of her dress over her shoulder to expose the shoulder blade in question,  as well as the bra strap that stood in her way.

With an easy press of the seal to her shoulder and a little bit of magic flowing from her own tattoo through her hand and into the seal,  a dark purple symbol identifying her as Blue Pegasus was left in it's place.

Siren did her best to readjust the strap before she zipped Rose back up and the wall of white water rippled away elegantly now that it was unneeded.

"And there you are"  Siren said.  "It's not entirely official yet until guildmaster Shuhei reviews your application and does the nasty paperwork on his end.  But you aren't not a member yet."   Siren imagined Shuhei behind a desk sorting through papers and laughed internally.  That must be hell on him,  but it was a guildmaster's responsibility.  Siren herself did paperwork for her crew aboard her ship,  the Saving Goddess.   A name that has proven true on numerous occasions.

"Having the guild mark and my influence that resides in it now will identify you as Blue Pegasus to the wards around our establishments and allow you to claim your complimentary library card here at the info desk over there,  a room at the Gardens with free access to the baths and food of course,  and free access to most of the Colosseum."   That sounded about right.   Being a member of Blue Pegasus came with a lot of nice perks such as that.  The library here below their very feet was one of the best in Fiore or even Earthland,  while the Gardens were a renown luxury spa with beautiful gardens that landscape the hillside it's built into,   and as for the Colosseum...  it was top-tier.

"Speaking of which,  there is an event being held there later today just this afternoon.   You're in luck,  you get a free pass to view the fight between the other two Aces of Blue Pegasus."

At the word fight Rose’s eyes went wide. “Who, where, when, why?” she grilled. Rose had been itching for a fight since she left her home town. Rose could feel her magic start to flare around her making her give off a slight purple glow. Her energy spiked, her adrenaline pumped, she was ready to take on anything that came at her. She stared longingly at Siren waiting for her answer.

While Siren talked Rose seemed to just be soaking it all up, considering her words up until she mentioned the fight later today.  Fight was clearly a trigger word for the girl and she went from being an embarrassed- albeit quite cute -mess to being a bundle of energy that seemed to be spilling over with enthusiasm as she hammered questions at Siren in rapid succession with eyes that bore into her like a hunting dog with it's eyes locked on it's prize.  Smiled and calmly replied to her questions.

"This afternoon in six hours the aces Sango, the lightning demon slayer and Ayeseru, the Shadow Dragon slayer are fighting in the Colosseum to inspire new members with the spirit of Blue Pegasus and remind us all of what it means to be Blue Pegasus.  You can get in freely now that you're a Blue Pegasus yourself".    Siren had her own reservations against the event but accepted it well enough.  If the two other aces were anything like herself,  she doubted if even the Colosseum could hold them.   Ayeseru was a Saint much like herself,  though Ayeseru was the eighth Saint unlike Shuhei or Siren,  who were the First and Second saints respectively.  But title didn't necessarily equate to power.

One way or another though the fight would be interesting,  she just hoped it wouldn't get too heated.   But if it did,  Siren and Shuhei would be there.  She imagined Heero wouldn't miss out on it either,  making 3 of the top 4 Saints present as witnesses to the event.   It'll be a sight to see to be sure.   Unless they intend on "Fighting" with foam swords or at the gamble of cards,  which she seriously doubted.

Rose was so surprised that Siren spoke so calmly about a Wizard Saint that her magic field dissipated. "Wow a fight between two slayers, let alone Ace slayers..." Rose's eyes glazed over. Snapping back to reality she shook her head. "Have you ever met one of the Saints?" Rose asked with a strange fire in her eyes. "My dream has always been to become one of them. I was the most powerful wizard in my village, y'know." Rose announced proudly crossing her arms.

Well, Rose was definitely lively.  She seemed amazed by the idea of two slayers fighting which amused her.  Siren had only ever met one other slayer before meeting Shuhei in the dragonrealm and that was hardly a story for now,   but here in this world there was a remarkably high concentration of Slayer mages here.   That wasn't to say they were common but compared to the other worlds she's traveled... yea,  they were rather common.

As for saints,  Siren had in fact met Six of them.  Though she only really knew Heero,  Ayeseru, and Shuhei,  though to a lesser extent she also knew Zack well enough.   "Yea,  I've met six.  Though I don't know them particularly well I'd say.  I've been meaning to spend a day with Heero sometime,  if he's here maybe I'll visit with him.   I know Shuhei the best,  our guildmaster,  that's us in that mural there on the pillar you were just looking at".

She didn't comment on the village thing,  but it was good that she grew up confident in her magic.  Or it could be terrible and she could give up on the difficult life of training.  Siren chose to think the first bit,  she wanted to be a Saint and if she tried hard enough she'd get there some day,  and she said as much.   "Well, if you try hard enough there is very little you can't do.  Even less if you have good friends and a strong guild."

As soon as Siren said she had met 6 Rose's eyes went as wide as dinner plates and when Siren said she might be a Saint one day Rose practically melted. "You're so lucky!" Rose exclaimed, bouncing up and down like a child, even though she was 19. "I wish I could meet a Saint!" Rose pouted.

Rose's pout faded into a silly smile. "You really think I could become one of the Saints?!" Rose questioned dreamily.

The Flower's Arrival Empty Re: The Flower's Arrival

Post by Eris 7th May 2014, 3:12 pm

Siren had a mental click as Rose confirmed her suspicions.  Rose didn't actually know much about the Saints or necessarily even knew much about the guild she just joined.  What she had been saying so far suggested she was rather impulsive and that she didn't know who she was talking to.  Which was fine by Siren's perspective,  she didn't expect anyone to know her neither did she think too much about her position.

Siren laughed audibly,  a short quiet laugh,  as she pat Rose on the head casually.  "Don't worry Rose,  I'm sure you'll meet a Saint sooner than you know.   If you attend the event today you'll be able to see Ayeseru in person,  though you'd be in the stands and wouldn't be able to meet him- not at first anyway -and Shuhei should be watching the event from his spot.   You might be able to see at least one or two other saints who are going to attend."  Siren decided not to tell Rose for two reasons,  one;  that would be borning.  and two;  Siren didn't think it was worth telling,  not really.  It was better and more entertaining for her to find out later.

"Well,  not any time soon I'm sure.  But if you try hard and do lots of training and gain enough experience by going out with your fellow mages on jobs and as a team you can surely grow enough to get there someday.   It just takes dedication and spirit.  If you have that,  then you will do fine.  Just keep it up."  Siren suggested.  And,  of course,  it did take some natural ability.  And it'd take a lot of spirit indeed.   No one becomes a saint through inexperience or lack of character.   The road to becoming a saint has it's dark days.  Siren knew this.  Even though she had not been around this world long enough to fully grasp the whole saint business,  she herself went through many years of hard work under the direct tutelage of an archdemon and many many more on her own out there in the universe challenging great odds.

Rose's confidence jumped through the roof after Siren's pep talk. Her shoulders square, the gleam in her eye. It was clear she would do everything in her power to realize her dream. "Thanks for helping me get registered for the guild," Rose said smiling. "I hope to see you at the fight later!" She exclaimed. "I'm going to go and try to complete a job so I can start training!" With that Rose turned around and started to walk slowly, her grin growing wider and wider.

Siren nodded her head in acknowledgement as Rose said she would be off to start doing jobs already.  That was the spirit,  she was sure there were a few D-rank jobs available that she could accomplish before the event later that day would start.   The job board was just through a member-only door to the side of the informational desks.  Through the door would be a small but lovely lounge designed to just do the job and functioned similar to a cafe where members could read certain non-restricted books as they ate some food from vending machines and sorted through jobs on the board,  though no jobs appeared to be there until you approached.   On approach the board would light up with jobs available for your rank via archive magics.

Siren felt confident enough that Rose would do well if she kept up that attitude of hers,  if she truly sought after her dream with the same conviction she talked about it with then the only think that could stop her would be an untimely death-  Siren shook the thought away.  She always worried about people too much and had a tendency to consider the worst outcomes.   It wasn't to be mistaken as being cynical or even really a "Glass half empty",  she just considered it motherly instincts.  Nothing wrong with that.

As Rose left Siren be the world seemed to slow down to a crawl,  though no one else would notice,  and she walked leisurely out of the guild hall.  She had plans of her own and had just stopped by to check out the newly installed pillar.   The quietness of the world now that it was all slowed down was peaceful,  but ominous in it's near absolute silence.   There was no wind,  no sound of footsteps or background noise brought about by the natural ambient sounds found in all locations,  with very few exceptions.   The sound of sweeping scholars or the shuffle of papers by the clerks,  even the soft noises stemming from outside the building or on the lower levels.  There was nothing but the sound of her own heart.   And just like that,  Siren appeared to vanish from the hall of fame to carry on with her day.
