Missing persons

Akryn paced nercously in the main hall of the guild, checking the large clock on the wall everynow and then. It had been days now and he was starting to get worried. It was unlike Kyll to take so long, especially for something as simple as a passport. More than once he had entertained the idea of going out to search for her, but then again if someone could beat Kyll and keep her out for so long, then what chance did Akryn have? But then again, what if he was wrong and Kyll was fine? He would be raising a rucus for nothing and look like a real fool.

With a frustrated scrubbing of his head, Akryn gave up on trying to solve the problem himself. He could go at it for days and still not come up with the right answer, and the whole time Kyll could be in real trouble. He lacked the experience needed for this and he knew it. But he also knew who had that kind of experience. With another frustrated scrubbing of his head with his hands, he swallowed his pride and headed over to the guildmaster, Zeno, reportedly the most powerful wizard in all of Fiore, a man who truly intimidated Akryn.

As Akryn approached, he steeled his resolve, reminding himself that Kyll may just need this. "Excuse me sir." he said nervously. "Sorry to bother you but....well.....its Kyll. She went to get her passport and its been quite sometime. I would have thought she should have been back a while ago and I am concerned that something may have happened."

Zeno was in the meditation room when he was approached by Akryn, the newest addition to Eclipse Soul's Storm department. The guildmaster was seated on the floor in the center of the room, a single stick of incense put in front of him. His back was turned to Akryn when the young storm mage informed Zeno of Kyll's disappearance.

Zeno's eyes opened and his lips moved calmly.
"When exactly did she leave to get her passport?" He asked in a monotone voice.

"A.....about three weeks ago." he said, nervously shifting from one foot to the other as he stood there, his gut turning. Maybe he should have gone to one of the other guild members first, he thought to himself."I mean, I know it takes a while, but not this long, surely. I would have headed out to look for her, but I wouldn't know where to start. Maybe I am over reacting but my gut tells me she is in trouble."

"ZENO!!!" Screamed the crazy puppet man Geno as he ran toward his upset looking counterpart. "Kyll locked me in her panty drawer with magic!" Geno was exclaiming stretching out his arms as if what he was saying was meant to be taken as a very big deal. "I was stuck in there for weeks and suddenly it just popped open... I think... she's... in..." Geno paused for dramatic effect as he struck a pose that rivaled the poses of heroes of yore. "Trouble!"

DUN DUN DUN

"I'll give a run down of what happened and maybe we can think of some clues as to where she went." Geno began to recount the last few weeks. "It all started with Kyll telling me she wanted me in her underwear, me being a people pleaser said 'Oh, but of course Mademoiselle.' but then she put me in her underwear drawer and I found it locked... but not just any locked MAGIC LOCKED!"

DUN DUN DUN

"She said she couldn't be having me getting involved with what ever she needed to do. I tried to escape but there was no way. And then..."

This next part lasts a while so we'll be going in time skips for a bit people at home.


"PANTIES... GLORIOUS PANTIES... GWOHAHAHAHA!!! HAHAHAHAH!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!"


"OK, over all these panties... now what?"


"BUT I WOULD WALK FIVE HUNDRED MILES AND I WOULD WALK FIVE HUNDRED MORE JUST TO BE THE MAN WHO MAN WHO WALKS A THOUSANDS MILES TO FALL DOWN AT YOU DOOR!"


"I may have to eat her panties to survive at this point."

But we don't even need to eat.

"DON'T TAKE THIS FROM ME! JUST FOR SASSING ME YOU'RE GREEN AGAIN!"

"Oh look the dresser is open."



"And that's what happened Zeno... Now... You may be thinking 'Geno why didn't you go to the arcane realm and just reappear at my location' and the answer to why I didn't do that... is that I didn't think about it till literally just now" The puppet said with a growing smirk.

"Eh-he-he-he, Ain't I a stinka?"

The incense was all burned up and Zeno was starting to wonder if this whole ordeal would leave him grey-haired. Kyll's problems had been his priority for so long and they seemed to grow ever larger. Then Geno got delivered to him, whom he had decided to place an immense amount of trust and responsibility on despite his better judgment in the hopes that the situation might actually work out and that he could recover from the withdrawal symptoms of the Arcana Force he had used in his fight against Warden. Stress only made the period of withdrawal last longer.

The ever-calm arcane master was feeling unnerved for the first time in many many years. The moment he realized just that, he abandoned the emotion and struggled hard to regain control for a few moments. With a deep breath Zeno stood up.

As he did, he felt the withdrawal symptoms fade away. Just like that, it was always so sudden.

The Eclipse Soul guildmaster was back.

"That still doesn't explain why you did not reply to my telepathic messages Geno... Maybe we should practice those better." Zeno said with a monotone voice, deciding he was going to go easy on Geno.
Now was the time to look ahead and act.

"Thank you, Akryn, for bringing this to my attention. If she is in trouble, I will take responsibility. We must find her immediately."

Zeno walked over to the side of the room and slid open a panel that revealed his gear and clothes neatly folded and placed into a cabinet. Suddenly, there was a blinding flash of purple light and the next instant Zeno was already adjusting the straps on his armor and pulling the hood over his head.

"Geno, go check the passport control at the docks and ask around if Kyll collected her passport there or not. If she did, try to find out where she went after. Communicate with me as soon as you find something. Akryn, did you see her run off? Is there any location you could point me to where she may have passed by?"

Zenshin, after a long trek from his guild hall to his previous one, barged in through the main guild doors of Eclipse Soul and returning to his second home once more.

"Every single time Zeno. Every single time he comes up and does some insane thing, I just stop and think to myself why I listened to you and let him live. So much crisis and grief could've been avoided. We knew he was higher up in the Savage Skull hierarchy, but he still continues to breath and has taken Kyll." he said in a flurry of words, half blaming the man before him and half blaming himself.

Zen couldn't actually recall the last time he questioned Zeno, or the last time he had even seen him. Actually, he could, when he was lying under the rubble of that dreaded tower after their engagement with that dammed poison mage. He was much stronger now, so he felt comfortable with challenging the authority of such a powerful figure such as the guild master of Eclipse Soul, even though it wasn't the most polite thing to do in front of other guild members.

"Well, you don't have to bother searching the passport booth area, the last place I saw her was in the Spooky Forest. You'd be better off searching there for any signs of strange energies or dropped objects."

Through most of this exchange, first between Zeno and some odd puppet he had never seen before, though he had to admit, the little fellow was amusing.....if long winded, and then some random man that he had again never seen before, but apparently was quite familiar with the guild master, Akryn just stood off to the side, mouth hanging open slightly. He had certainly joined a most odd and diverse guild, he thought to himself, before looking to Zeno. "I didn't actually see her leave. But why on earth would she go to the spooky forest? That's not where she said she would be, why would she lie like that? Master Zeno, she is my team mate, whats going on?"

Zeno's facial expression remained unchanged as Zenshin came barging in. The former Eclipse Soul member had come a long way since he had left. His ambitions brought him elsewhere and now he stood before Zeno as the guildmaster of Sabertooth. Zeno remembered their last mission together: chaotic and under pressure during the Lichborne Crisis. Zenshin's impulsiveness back then was reflected in his approach towards Zeno now.

"Being bitter about the past won't help us now, Zenshin." The Eclipse Soul guildmaster replied. Zeno turned to his arcane counterpart and nodded, gesturing with one hand for Geno to hold on and wait.

"If you saw Frederick with her in the Spooky Forest, how come she isn't here with you and he isn't buried in the ground?" Zeno asked in return, clearly not appreciative of Zenshin pointing the finger without any discretion.

"Believe me that if I *physically* saw Frederick and Kyll, that would very well be the case, but unfortunately, I wasn't. Think Kyll's astral projection, except the other way around. I was actually asleep when I got the 'vision', I guess you could say. It's not good Zeno, we have to find her right away, or we'll have to kill her." he explained as he took out the note that she gave to Marick to give to him, the one with the skeletal wings and the words "Kill Me" under the things.

"The power in this room could level a nation, yet we couldn't even save Kyll from such an old enemy. Goes to show the kind of high security the Council has in place at the passport pick up lines..." he then said, his voice trailing off as he turned to look at Akryn, a member of Eclipse Soul who was confused by all of this, and he was happy to clarify.

"She went on a job with one of my aces, which I thought would be enough to protect her from any trouble that went down while they were getting their passport. I was wrong and now we have to get to the forest." he finished, turning around and beginning to walk towards the exit.

OOC: Sorry I got sick and tired of waiting... let's move this along.

BIC: Just as Zenshin finished his reasoning a pale hand grabbed his shoulder. The figure moved to the side and took the hood off revealing an older mage with graying pink hair. He wore a cloak with rather large sleeves for travel. His golden eyes were filled with warmth and he held a smile that he had succeeded in fulfilling his part to this story line. "Interesting, Zenshin," the man said with a smirk. "Only way you could actually SEE that is if Kyll has started to hone in on her magic some more or you accidentally triggered something on her. Either way..." Then before introductions. The man snatched up the note. "hmm.. By the way I believe you have seen my face before then. Then you will know my name. No introductions needed for you." He looked at Akryn. "But for you I'm Einrich Flandre, Kyll's teacher." He walked up to Zeno. "Looks like this happened sooner than I thought. Lucky you, I was here delivering the last and final key to Kyll's rescue."

Einrich reached into the sleeve and pulled out a medium jar with a butterfly flying around in it. "Alright I've given you Kalister and the sword. You'll need to bring them both. It should be easy to find Kyll with her mom around." He smiled over at Zeno and then tilted his head with his signature mischievous smile. In a voice so low where only Zeno could hear he spoke, "But Kalister here isn't the ONLY one you could use to figure out where Kyll has gone. Might want to hurry before the other family member leaves." With that he turned around and waved at everyone. "And with THAT. I'm off. You guys and Kyll will be the next inspiration to my next novel..." He turned to Zeno and laughed. "Don't worry... Nothing will happen on YOUR part." He then began to walk away. "And don't let that monster in the woods fool you," he stopped at the door. "She's not the one that will be saying hurtful things. The best time to strike her would be like the last time. Cut off a wing and Kyll will pop out. This time. I don't think she will be pleading for her death though." He turned around and then looked at Zeno. "Either way that sword is going to have to strike her, but trust me on this one Zeno. Listen to Kalister. I leave her in your hands... my job is done." The only person that knew why Einrich couldn't fight was Zeno. He walked out of the guild and disappeared.

[EXIT Einrich]

Zeno had remained quiet, half present, half in thought. He accepted Einrich's items and final words of guidance. His eyes glanced over to the jar in his hand. Kalister was fluttering about actively now.

His indecisiveness and denial seized and dissipated. This was how it had been written in the stars, Einrich had known, had tried to tell Zeno there was no point in refusing to accept what was inevitable. For a wise man, Zeno had not been doing his best these last few months.

"Very well. Let's move this along. I understand what needs to be done now. Lead the way, Zenshin."
