Post by Jett 10th March 2014, 8:50 am

    Job Title: A Wizard's Grace

    Rank: D-Ranked Wizard (Solo Only)

Player Requirements: Thread must be 20 posts long. 200 Words per post. May only be completed ONCE by the character attempting the Job.

Job Requirements: Must defeat at least 5 groups of Plant Demons! Without using magic that can damage the crops and farms of Beanstalk Village! If the Boss is rolled; the curse on the crops will disappear; but you now have to face off against the Dark Wizard who cursed them in the first place!

    Job Location: Beanstalk Village

Job Description: Beanstalk Village; nestled in the most northern forests of Fiore alongside the Clover River. This village is responsible for a good bit of Fiore's farm and produce production alongside River Village, and Peace Village. Everything from vegetables, too beef, too steak, too pork can come from here.

However; all crops in the village; have whithered and grown thorns. Quite strange no? They also glow with a strange light; as if some kind of bad magics are at work; holding the crops into this foul state.

There aren't any wizards in the village; so they're completely baffled how entire crop fields of wheat, corn, and tomatoes could just sprout black thorns, wither, and glow. It's very, very, VERY; strange to them.

However; when you arrive; the cursed plants react to your magic power; revealing to the villagers the source of the problem. Plant Demons; feeding off of their crops.

The Plant Demons appear; popping up in waves. They look quite cute; each Plant Demon either has a head and body made up of whatever vegetable it is; with thin white legs and arms; and glowing red eyes with a mouth that they love to use to eat real crops; and too trash talk.

They will pop out of the ground randomly when they sense Magic Power for the first time in Beanstalk Village; and attack. The curse will wear off when you dispose of the Plant Demons.

    Enemies:

Weak: Tomato Plant Demon x10 (D-Ranked, these Demons are real trash talkers; nothing is off limits to them. With a body like a giant tomato. Despite their tough talk; they're very weak and go down in just two hits of D-Ranked damage each; they will try to belly flop and body slam their opponents; their special technique is 'Tomato Juice Cannon'; which blasts their opponent with a stream of ketchup from their mouth; careful it packs a punch and deals D-Ranked damage and knockback that will lift you off your feet if hit.)

Normal: Corn Plant Demon x5 (D-Ranked, these Demons have a body like a giant corn cob. They don't talk tough; but think themselves very stylish. They will attempt to body flop, and body ram opponents much like the Tomato Plant Demons. Their special technique is 'Corn Corn Cannon' in which they exhale a stream of Corn, flying at bullet speed. They hurt like hell; equivalent to almost having baseballs thrown at you. Enough of them will K.O even tough wizards. This deals C-Ranked damage if hit. The Corn Plant Demons go down in 3 hits of D-Ranked damage each.)

Strong: Broccolli Plant Demon x10 (C-Ranked, these demons have a body like broccolli with glowing red eyes. They are very fast; and will charge opponents quickly with shoulder rams, and punches. Their special technique is 'Broccolli Swat'; in which they cock their body back like a gigantic fly swatter, and slam their Broccolli heads down on their opponent in a gigantic smash. This deals C-Ranked damage, and can K.O quite easily. If caught off guard you will be slow to move around and be sore for the next post. The Broccolli Plant Demons go down in 5 hits of D-Ranked damage each.)

Boss: Dark Wizard (The one who put the curse on the entire Farmlands of Beanstalk Village; this guy is not to be trifled with. He is an middle aged man with an extremely impressive beard; wearing dark robes. He uses Curse Magic. Once per turn; he will try to make one of your limbs like jelly, as well as cause you to see and hear things that aren't there. His Curse spells can do everything from make you blind, make you not able to hear, paralyze one limb, make you not be able to speak, and the ability to make your own spells backfire on you. If you roll a 'Failed Block'; you will be Cursed with one of these effects, takes 15 hits of D-Ranked damage to bring this guy down.)

After three days, the rain finally stopped. The forest had a fresh scent of wet bark in the air, morning dew had fallen upon the grass and rays of sunlight shone through the leaves.

Time to move out. Jett stepped out of his improvised survival tent, grabbed his knapsack, made sure his gear was strapped around his belt properly and started travelling North. After about twenty minutes he ended up on the road to Beanstalk Village. He could hear the water from the river nearby. He ran his hand through his silver hair and breathed in deeply. He always appreciated sunshine after rain.

There were some farmers on the road, but they didn't seem particularly happy. Some were even travelling with a cart full of stuff pulled by oxes, as if they were going to farm elsewhere. The great beanstalk was already visible in the distance and there seemed to be a gathering of sorts and the main gate.

"Ain't much to do in Beanstalk Village these days, boy. There's nothing to trade and even the rain had no positive effect on the crops. Y'best travel further North along the river to the next village." An old farmer said with a loud voice as he passed by Jett. He rode off into the forest on a mule with a tiny two-wheeled cart stacked full of items.

Jett focused his eyesight on the crowd in the distance. His beastsight revealed a whole bunch of people wanting to leave the town while one spokesman was trying to keep everyone calm. He listened closely to the shouting and the noise.

    "Ladies, gentleman plea-"

"I don't know what's wrong the crops or the fields, but if I don't make any money today I am outta here!"

Less than minute later, Jett arrived at the gate. He was immediately the new center of attention. After an awkward thirty seconds of silence and staring, one of the villagers stepped forward.

"E-excuse me, si-sir.. But are you a mage?" The man stuttered with interest.

Jett nodded and the whole crowd started whispering and mumbling enthousiastically. The Beastmaster raised an eyebrow as he looked across the crowd with an unimpressed expression on his face. He knew not many mages traveled these parts on a frequent basis, he did not know it was this rare.

"Listen, we haven't had a mage over here in weeks. The crops are all but ruined and we have no idea what's going on! Please, if you could just.. take a look, or sense something. Just.. anything that could help us out. We beg you, we're pretty much starving here." The man cried as he practically dropped to his knees.

"I am not that kind of mage." Jett replied calmly and monotone.

The crowd's mumbling grew louder. Jett started walking away, he wouldn't stay longer than an hour in Beanstalk Village anyway. The farmer on the road was right, nothing to do here.

"Jackass! Can't even help some starving villagers out! There's kids here too you know!" Some farmer shouted. Jett turned around with a sigh.

"I am no farmer, I do not kno-" He started but stopped mid-sentence. There was something here. Jett looked over his shoulder to a field a few meters further. He focused on scent until his magical sense was triggered and the different scents became visible.

This was definitely not the scent of vegetables.

"Hold on." He said briefly and slowly walked over to the field. The crowd grew quiet, as if they weren't even there. A man started coughing but was elbowed in the gut by his wife to silence him.

When Jett was five meters away from the field, the ground started rising up as if a mole was beneath the surface. But Jett knew better.

"Look at this tough guy, being all cool and cold. I bet he wasn't a very popular kid!" Some voice yelled and was followed by dirty laughter that echoed everywhere across the field.

Shadows emerged from what seemed to be his veins in his right forearm. They gathered in his left hand and formed a pitch-black scimitar with a very long handle.

"OOOOOH!!! He's already getting pissed! HAHAHa, this one doesn't have a very thick skin. Let's get 'em boys!"

Suddenly, the laughter intensified as three huge tomatoes rose from the ground and leapt into the air. The one in the middle soared over the fence and was on his way to crush Jett. The other two fired a stream of what seemed to be ketchup from their mouths.

Jett rolled forward, then grabbed the handle of his scimitar with both hands and drove it deep into the tomatoe before it could land on him. He then took a step backwards into a steady stance. The scimitar remained stuck in the tomatoe, who was screaming it out, while the hilt rested on Jett's shoulder to keep the tomatoe lifted off the ground. The streams of ketchup took impact on their fellow vegetable and Jett was pushed back by a meter or two as he pulled his scimitar out and let the dead tomatoe drop to the ground.

"Aww man, that fucker killed Frank!"

    "What an asshole."

Before any of them could make another move, Jett had already launched himself into the air after a quick push off from the fence. He was about to land on one of the tomatoes that tried to jump up and tackle him.

"Stay down." Jett said unamused as his foot pushed the red ball back down. The tomatoe grunted and fired ketchup upward at Jett, but he flipped out of the way and landed softly on the field. His scimitar struck twice and created a deep "x" shaped wound in the fruity flesh. The tomatoe grunted and stumbled into the fence, not moving much anymore after.

Ketchup then suddenly struck him in the face. He was lifted into the air and landed on his back. Luckily his defensive aura had protected him from any harm.

"Take that cocksucker!" The tomatoe yelled.

Jett slowly got back to his feet, his outfit was covered in mud and dirt.

"Come on boys! Frank and Ed are done for. I need some backup!" The red loudmouth shouted and suddenly, two more tomatoes popped up behind the it.

    "You got in Cleetus!"

    "We got ya back Cleetus!"

The tomatoes were all lined up behind each other and Jett did not hesitate a moment.
He aimed his blade right at Cleetus as it lit up and became a sphere of energy in his hand. A instant later, the sphere was fired as a lazerbeam that pierced all three tomatoes at once.

The red blobs went down like large deflating balloons.

    The farmers roared in excitement.
    "Yeah!! That's right!"

"Take that you filthy plant demons! Go back to where you came from!"

Jett turned around and shouted back.
"Go home right now and lock the doors!" His voice must have sounded slightly intimidating because after two seconds of silence it had commanded authority over the crowd that was now quickly breaking apart and hustling home.

More and more different scents arose from the fields. This whole village was full of plant demons. He had taken out five tomatoes, and he could smell more hidden beneath the surface, but there were many others as well.

The Beastmaster's Edge returned to his hand and took the long-handle scimitar form on once more.

Jett started walking around the field to lure out some more tomatoes. Suddenly he heard fart noises followed by a lot of giggling all around him.

"Shhh, he's gonna find you hehehehe."

The Beastmaster walked to the right following the tomatoe scent. Then the farting noise came from behind him. All tomatoes burst out laughing. It was complete madness and Jett was bit by bit started to get annoyed.

He dulled out his hearing and focused on the scent until it entered his visual perception again. A string of tomatoe smell was coming from a spot in the ground two meters to his right. Two steps and a quick stab downward later, the blade of the scimitar had disappeared into the ground and the laughter stopped.
