Housekeeping (dragofox)

The sunlight shone bright, enlightening the creatures of Earth with light that helps them in many ways. Though it was Sunday, and a day to rest, Naruto had somehow caught himself doing a job. He had finished his pocket money, and by then was doing the job to make sure he’d gain some more for his living. “Damn.. Lucky I don’t have any pets to feed..” Naruto sighed, standing in front of his client’s house’s door. This time he had to serve as the house’s maintenance guy, and that the client stated there are few problems regarding the house itself, and some pests coming in and out the house.

The man went for a vacation already, leaving the keys all Naruto’s to keep. Unlocking the door, Naruto went inside the empty house, only to find it in a well state. “Woah, this isn’t bad for a start. Maybe I’ll get lucky with so little job to do.” Naruto smiled, pausing for a moment. “Now to find the leak.” He closed the door, starting to search for the faulty roof the client complained about in the job flyer.

The house was well taken care of, and Naruto had the intend to congratulate his client soon when they meet. It was all neat and clean, tidy and stuffs. Things were arranged properly at their respective places, and so Naruto didn’t have to become a housemaid while also becoming the maintenance guy. Sighing in relief, Naruto could suddenly hear drips of water falling. Entering one of the rooms, Naruto looked up onto the ceiling, only to find a big leak now forming a hole on it. There was a pail under the leak, so the water didn’t wet the floor with the drips coming from the pipes located under the roof up the ceiling. “Again, as lucky.” Naruto smiled wide, bringing in the maintenance tools he borrowed from the guild for such jobs.

Climbing up the stairs, Naruto started by first stopping the drips coming out of the pipe. It wasn’t that hard, but the fact that the water was wetting his clothes annoyed him. “Now done!” Naruto sighed, after working for almost 3 hours the ceiling was fixed. There was no hole anymore, and no drips could be heard. Satisfied, Naruto wiped the sweat on his forehead and went on and check the surroundings for his client’s next problem, which involved pests.

“Well then.. What should I be dealing with..” Naruto looked around, from the kitchen to the toilet, but there was nothing pesky to start with. The client had said there’s some pesky problems in his house, but he should at least state what it was. “Then again, I might not get so lucky..” Naruto sighed, sitting on the couch to get a light rest. As his eyes started to drop, dreams looked like they were going to approach the blonde mage, but suddenly a buzzing sound killed all of the dreams. “…!! Wait what?” Naruto woke up from the only 5 minutes nap, looking around him after.

The buzzing sound came again, and this time it wasn’t just one, but two, no, more. Naruto found it very annoying after hearing the buzz for 5 minutes, already seeing that they were coming from flies. “So this is it, eh?” Naruto stood up, chasing them holding a fly swatter. He couldn’t manage to get rid of them, they were too fast, and they could sense danger even 3 seconds before he even did move. “Damn.. So this is the pesky problem..”

'Monster Dice' :

Naruto went on with the chase. The flies were really annoying him, and so far he could only get to swat 2 flies, no more. But then, they were still there, it was more like more had come. “I’ve no choice then!” Naruto smirked, running to his backpack he left on the cozy living room sofa. “I’ll just use this!” Naruto took out a bottle of freshener, spraying the nice smell of lavender all over the house. The flies didn’t have anywhere to run to, so Naruto gave them a chance to leave by opening the sliding backdoor a little.

However, as soon as he opened the door, another menace broke in. A dog slipped from the narrow space between the door and the wall, and had amazed Naruto with its speed. “Woah, that was fast.” Naruto looked at the dog, closing the door to deal with the third and hopefully final pesky problem of his client’s. "Woof! Woof!"

'Monster Dice' :

The big German shepherd looked at Naruto, with its eyes set on him. It was on its mischievous mode, no doubt. “Decisive battle!” Naruto shouted, comically chasing the dog as it ran around the living room. It was quite a ruckus they caused, but surely though, nothing broke, only misplaced households. It was long before Naruto could finally corner the dog. It didn’t have anywhere to run, and after a few shakes it finally decided to attack. It dashed towards the mage, attempting to bite his hand. Naruto however, sidestepped just in time, and had finally got the dog with a hug.

It struggled, but stopped shortly after. Naruto brought the dog outside, strapping it on its canal on the neighbor’s yard after telling the married couple what had happened. Naruto gave it something for it to chew on, much to its delight. After that, Naruto went back to his client’s house, tidied everything back to normal. He looked around after 4 hours of tidying, and was quite satisfied himself. “Well.. I can do tidy up things after all.” Naruto smirked, leaving the house bringing along the key to give to the client later.

On the fridge, Naruto put a small note paper on it. “Thanks for making things all easy for me.”
