Buried Treasure!?

Splishy splashy. Mai waded through the puddle resting in a small divot in the ground. She’d gotten angry the night before, getting into a one-sided shouting match with some more rational people before storming off. This wasn't her first time living in the wild, so she ended up well-fed and well-rested. What she was not was sure of where she was. So, she picked a direction and wandered. To her luck, she quickly came across a town that visibly was ravaged by a storm. Mai, of course, was unable to put two and two together, a product of her… underdeveloped intellect and her callous attitude towards humans.

So, this abandoned town became her playground, splashing in lighting-made holes and making up some imaginary scenarios that she acted in. One particularly active scenario saw her unleash a particularly strong beam at some sort of church in the process. What she had not realized was the thick metal trap door that was revealed by the building’s destruction, though her odd forest companion noticed, flittering by and failing to open it. Mai, however, did notice a familiar scent, hustling into more house ruins to ambush her prey, though not realizing the top of her head was still visible.
